What Does Kiefer Do Between Seasons Of 24?? He Looks Into MIRRORS!!
Merrick here...
The teaser for Kiefer Sutherland's MIRRORS is making the rounds on Yahoo (HERE).
This one is co-written and directed by Alexandre Aja, who previously brought us THE HILLS HAVE EYES remake and is currently ramping up to PIRANHA 3-D (which early indications say boasts an impressive gnarl factor).
The first two PIRANHA films pushed the careers of Joe Dante and James Cameron (who directed Parts 1 & 2 respectively). Wonder what PIRANHA 3-D will mean for Aja...
Here's a look at MIRRORS, which should be int theaters mid-August.
POLTERGEIST III comes to mind...the one in which the ghost of Reverend Kane uses mirrors to bridge our world with The Other Side? Although, granted, "a mirror to another world" was hardly a new conceit even back in 1988.

i don't get it.....most of the time, people say OT or PT when talking Star Wars or I.Jones.
-
The last shot of this movie will be a slow dolly into a mirror as Kiefer's character walks away into the distance.
-
That means 'Stupid Cunt'. As for OT, that means 'Original Trilogy', and PT is 'Prequel Trilogy'. Hope that helps.
-
I think your wrong LordPorkington. An d SC means Michael Bay is awesome.
-
go read a talkback about the clone wars (SW) or any IJones talkback.

I think you don't know how to spell 'you're'. In fact, I know you don't. Oh, and you're a prick.
-
whenever he yells out, its classic jack bauer. its all anyway can ever see now, and it will make movies like this HILARIOUS. its like how george reeves couldnt be anything but superman. also, thats ill that they made his wife paula patton, and their son is multiracial. we dont see that kinda stuff enough in movies. i guess that makes me their son, huh?
-
A fat face will be looking back.
-
DUI? 40 days in jail? Sit around watching Lost Boys?
-
This'll do 'til Jack's back.

at Bruno's SF grand re-opening. That guy had 10 heinikans before 8pm
-
Saw the ending coming a mile away. And just didn't find it scray. And I thougth Hills 2 was better then Hills 1 for some reason? They just felt too glossy and serious, but not scray.
-
Best. Comeback. Ever. Looks like you win. Well done young man.
-
Is worth $10 by itself. Possible Amy Adams nudity is a bonus
-
This might be interesting.
-
but that looked entirely unspectacular.

Stop making films where kids are supposed to be scary. KIDS AREN'T SCARY!!! I could beat them up easily and I can't fight for shit... Maybe you've all got daddy issues or saw one of the classic horrors when the use of kids to scare us wasn't totally cliché. Maybe you're desperately trying to buld an unsettling atmosphere by relying on the uncanny, or whatever. But come on... Every horror film nowadays seems to rely on the use of children talking in a supposedly spooky voice, or singing a nursery rhyme. I think I'll turn it into a drinking game during the trailers attached to any horror film. Whenever a nursery rhyme or a kid's song is whispered, or whenever a kid speaks in a "spooky manner", you know what to do.Anyway, I suppose this device used to be unsettling, but now it just completely removes me from the film.I'm not saying remove kids completely but quit with these stupid devices.PS. I still love 24, and hope it gets over its hump.

AWESOME JAIL!!
-
Hopefully this becomes a sleeper hit and DL Hughley gets a good 5 minutes of material. I mean honestly, if ever there was a 'Why don't they just leave" set up, this would be it. I am watching the trailer and thinking "Why the fuck would 'Honey' and I be trying to rationalize the evil death mirrors instead of trying to find a Motel 6 with a pool?!??"
-
Called "Into the Mirror". SPOILER: If it's faithful to the original, it won't end as ingloriousjedi suggests, though the ending is just as trite, IMO.
-
Jeez just answer the guy instead of bustin' ☺
-
Dunno about where you live mate, but in the UK the gangs of feral teens out looking to knife someone certainly scare me... But I know what you mean, ghostly pale faced little kids in horror films are rarely scary or disturbing.
-
It's the use of the little kids between four and ten that annoy me. The little guy from Ju-on wasn't so bad because he was a ghost and they used him well. It's more about the kids who aren't supposed to be harmful but they try to make them spooky. I've lost count of the amount of trailers that end with a kid's voiceover whispering a line from a nursery rhyme. Really annoys me.
-
I am backing ingloriousjedi for what its worth.
Best use of a mirror in a horror film, it's tie.
Evil Dead 2 when Ash grabs himself. And the original Omen when David Warner is beheaded.
Even Al Qaeda could take notes on that one. -
Regular business for Jack Bauer.
-
Now that's a scary vision.
-
good horror director = good horror film
-
Have to agree about being sick to death of spooky kids (I'm from Glasgow too, wonder if it's something to do with the area). What annoys me the most is the massive number of horror movie children who seem to be in the know as to why these terrible things are happening, but are happy to sit and watch everyone die around them. It's been an especially popular feature since The Sixth Sense, IMO, which is the only movie to have done it with any success so far.
-
They don't make 'em like that anymore.
-
The twins from The Shining.
-
Damn You Michael Bay
-
Anyone see Scorsese's "Mirror, Mirror" ep of Amazing Stories? That was pretty creepy.
-
Wasn't the greatest flick by any stretch of the imagination, but the one spooky moment in it was the one they 'mirrored' (ha ha) in this trailer: the kid turning away from the mirror and the reflection still sitting there. Virtually identical to a shot in P3.
-
the twins from the shining as one of the classic examples. Maybe Damien in the original omen. The childish spookiness was probably already a cliché when "one, two, Freddy's coming for you" showed up.
-
The ending of the original was just one of the weirdest things I'd ever seen. It seemed to have very little to do with the rest of the film but it was one of the most intriguingly bizarre things I'd seen in a long time.
-
and they smell bad.
-
Where is the bomb?!!!
-
but Poltergeist III was the first Poltergeist movie I saw
-
just from the teaser you can tell the film has very little in common with the Korean film ...whhooo evil people in mirror, not in the bloody original film :(
