Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with 1 of 2 pieces featuring Pitdoc's photo work at this year's NY Licensing Show. The second piece focuses on animated projects and this one has a ton of stuff on GI Joe and a sweet looking poster for WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE! Enjoy!
Hi folks ,Pitdoc here with another series of images from the Licensing Show in NYC. Once again..a disappointing year.. Disney had nothing visible for new projects. Warners didn't promote the Dark Knight ..much ( at least 2 yrs ago they had the Batmobile ) , and , of course.. MARVEL.... this should have been their year; what with two great tentpoles to start off their solo producing. what did they have at their booth? Pictures of animated features!! ( Including what looks like a Marvel BABIES thing that..oh, how I weep).They should have had props from Iron Man, or the hulk, and posters talking about the new movies to come..Nope,, another Spiderman cartoon coming next year.. Granted . this is a Licensing show.. but they should have stepped up.. The ONLY image that really had me salivating was a 15 foot wall picture from...Where the Wild Things are.. but thats all the info you might get on that movie.But it makes me want to see it..yesterday..
I'm sure other people might appreciate some new images from GI Joe ( though they might already be out) or some of the Hentai stuff ( I remember one year everyone was drooling over TMNT, which I took as an afterthought. So enjoy what you might not have already seen..And as an afterthought, NEXT year this show will be in Vegas, so they might be more movie centric

Seriously, the Mummy guys is directing this? I want Jakson Public to direct this, Venture Bros is far better at it. Also, why the crappy pics? Where are the cool Star Wars booth official shots, like of LucasArts employees asking for spare change and handing out resumes.

Licensing show always sucks, do you need a Ray Parks Interview

Man, the NYCLS is always lame, have you just started going there? SWhy would Marvel or DC set up huge displays, people going to this show already know what's out there. They save everything else for SDCC, where real people go.
I think Ray gets back this week, I can see if anything new he can talk about.
NYCLS, why even bother. And SDCC is overrun by n00bs and g33ks, so same story. If they'd just clear out all of the public, like old NYC Toy Fair at 200 5th Ave, and only let industry and appointments in, the universe would return to normal. -

..if they are (1)dressed in black, as one might not tell the difference between joe or cobra, (2)an international strike force stationed in brussels.this goes against the Real American Hero concept. and (3) the piss poor casting, i was psyched that ray park will be playing snake eyes, but marlon wayans as ripcord? sienna miller as baroness? (is Bellucci too busy nowadays?)and Josh Gordon Levitt as Cobra Commander?!? fuck, i'd rather have Steve Carell at least he has the potentual to mix dramatic elements with a bit of comedic flair. (NOTE:CC was never taken too seriously as the character is asomewhat of a parody of dictators and despots....well atleast in the cartoon. XD)
I might not be seeing this when it comes out especially when the TBers are comparing it to Megaforce, which isn't a compliment by any means. -

This isn't a press event. The reason these shots are out of focus is because for much of these exhibits photography is not allowed and our spy had to sneak the pics. Specifically the GI Joe pics.

Look at how many people bitched on here about *Transformers* before it debuted. I have to hand it to Bay, that film was good and far better than I anticipated. The same could happen to *GI Joe*. As for internationalizing it - a bit - I can understand since in Europe/UK, they were known as Action Force. And maybe the director will make good. At least it isn't Uwe Boll or JJ Abrams directing. And as much as I wanted Monica Bellucci as the Baroness, you gotta admit that Sienna Miller looks the part in the pics released so far. I still say Donnie Yen should've been Storm Shadow, but Ray Park is a fantastic choice for Snake Eyes. I'm concerned about Cobra Commander the most because the actor picked is so left-field. I like Christopher Eccleston a lot [after all, I thought he'd make a better Joker than Heath Ledger and I'm still inclined to believe that], but for Destro, it is an "interesting" choice...perhaps Gerard Butler was too expensive after *300*. But Dennis Quaid as Hawk is awesome and finally a non-Marvel Comic actually brings Hawk front-and-center instead of lame Duke. I always had issues with that character - especially via the cartoon - since it was absolutely ridiculous for a Master Sarge like him giving orders to officers. Hawk was the leader in the comics, who reported to General Flagg and others. But in the movie, does Hawk start out as a colonel or a brigadier general?
