to see Brad Pitt in. He's kinda been playing it easy it seems for a while, (sure Babel was a good role)but this is something he excels at. It's been a while sense he's played a character that's unique, but it works the best when he can play against his looks. Overall this movie looks like a lot of fun. Can't wait to see it.

    by palimpsest

but I'm there anyways. Even bad Coens is better than 95 percent of the fuked (as is 'fridge-nuked' a contraction indicating something that is both fucked, and past its prime - like Sharon Stone, say) output of contemporary Hollywood.

    Coens kick ass!

    by nasty in the pasty

Of course, most critics will shit all over this just because every "silly" Coen movie that follows a crtically acclaimed "serious" one always gets picked on and ignored at first, only to attain a steady cult following years later. NO ONE liked Lebowski a decade ago (even I found it kind of slight), but now EVERYONE quotes that movie incessantly. Hopefully Intolerable Cruelty will find a similar reevaluation soon. Burn AFter Reading looks hilarious, and it'll be fun to see a non-Roger Deakins Coen movie for the first time in 18 years.

    by flickchick85

Any movie that reunites Frances McDormand with the Coens gets my ticket money. But this really does look funny to me. I like Brad Pitt in comedic roles far more than dramatic ones, too. And J.K. Simmons = Gold. I even liked several parts of Intolerable Cruelty. I don't think it was as bad as people make it out to be, but I wouldn't touch The Ladykillers with a 10' stick.
Oh, and I agree about The 'Assassination of Jesse James' being a masterpiece. It definitely deserved a Best Picture nod over Juno or Michael Clayton (both of which I also liked).

He looks fucking hilarious in this and I can't wait to see Benjamin Button. I agree, this looks like a return to Lebowski humor. I like the whole cast in this.
