Cannot wait.
-
Really? Actually do they even need permission, I mean they could very well do him themselves
-
Third?
-
Definitely looking forward to this. Apparently, I'm one of the few(?) who really enjoyed Bender's Big Score.
-
Didn't even want to finish it... Sad, sad they couldn't continue where they left off.
-
fifth is fine too. Still looking forward to more Futurama!
-
Confused by an animated TV series? I didn't think that was possible. There was nothing complex about it.
-
got better as it went along... the first "episode" was very lame, but it got into a groove in the 2nd...
-
The jokes didn't have the zing or wit of the show, for the most part. But I'm sensing that ol' Futurama vibe with this next one. Here's hoping...
-
Genticles. Heh. The last one was okay, I hope this one does better. I personally don't think Futurama, a great show, transfers well to full length.
-
Nothing.
And this looks just as hilarious. I could swear I recognize that game of 'deathball'. -
That means.... ROBOT DEVIL!!!!!!! Woooooo-hoooo!!!!! Even a single scene with the Robot Devil insures that this will surpass the slightly disappointing BBS. How deliciously ironic!

Big Score had some good 3D animation and so-so 2D animation
by tallboy66
Even though it was a movie, the character animation didn't look as good as the TV series. Jokes were mostly okay to really funny, but I liked the plotline alot. Very well done, and I liked the ending alot, but I'm still hoping for something truly Futurama gold ala "Futurestock" or "Farsworth Parabox"
-
So very disappointed with Benders Big Score. Just wasn't very funy and when the "musical" number appeared... Jeebus! Teeth grindingly unfunny.
Still, could be good I suppose it's early days yet to be definitive. -
that the series did, but I still enjoyed it. This one looks to be even better. More Zap is always a good thing.
"I'm willing to put men after men at your disposal. Right men!?"
"You suck!" -
But I liked it. It was still better than a lot of stuff on tv. High hopes for this one.
-
then you're an idiot. A stupid fucking idiot. "It was confusing" - it was? If you thought it was confusing, then you're a stupid cunt.
Yes the music parts sucked, EXCEPT the last song. Mark Hamill is god. And fuck yeah I mean all of this stuff too, because I'm passionate about Futurama like that. I can't wait for this to come out or Bender's Game either (the 4th movie). Futurama, FUCK YEAH! -
That movie was Futurama to the core. Watching it with a group of seven long-time Futurama devotees, we had one of the best viewing experiences we've had in years. Laughed our ASSES off through the whole thing.
-
How are these Matt Groaning cartoons still so hillarious and the Simpsons gotten so dry?
-
I imagine a talkback for fucking HEAVEN you know. The goddamn PARADISE. Clouds, gardens, hot chicks everywhere, awesome food, you name it. The most awesome paradise you can imagine. Yet the talkback would be something like "Yeah, it's good alright, but it wasn't faithful enough to the Bible" "This is not what the Mormons promised me, so fuck this stupid shit" "Paradise sucks, God is not what it used to be, you raped my afterlife!!" "PINO! PINO!" I loved Bender's Big Score and can't wait for this one.
-
THAT'S Futurama "to the core" when it was FUNNY. (at least you have something to laugh at Rongo coz it sure as shit wasn't BSB)
Captain Musky THAT was funny. The Star Trek fight music as Zoidbergs home planet national Anthem THAT was fucking hilarious. Name me a stand out gag from BSB ? Fact is I can barely remember the film APART from the excruciating Musical numbers.(And no Hamill isn't a God Hamill has to be FUNNY. No free rides for Star Wars fanboys.)
BSB was weak. It wasn't terrible I don't HATE it, but compared to the series and PARTICULARLY the early series it just wasn't that good. Calling anyone who doesn't agree with you a stupid idiot might be your idea of a constructive crtique tme2nsb but I'll stick to keeping my perspective and liking things on their merits. Not because it's Futurama so it must be good or they were in Star Wars so they must be a god. -
first time lars came on I thought billy is getting slopy with the voice work since lars was so close to fry. took about 5 min to figure out the twist.
other than that
I thought it was fine other than the 2 music numbers -
BBS was great, quit yer bitchin'! If you don't like it, BITE MY SHINEY METAL ASS!
-
futurama is great but i hope the actual movie is good, cause the trailer is uneventfull at best....
-
they totally overdid it with the fan service. Too much fan service always bugs me because it seems like the creators are admitting 'we can only craft in-jokes' ... it's one of the main reasons the Simpsons has gone downhill. But BBS didn't need the fan service, it was strong enough on its own. Bugs me.
-
...but it certainly wasn't up to par comedically with the best of the series. However, it still had the show's familiar spirit. What I always loved about "Futurama" was their mix of broad humor, tongue-in-cheek wit and unabashedly sentimental storylines. You could really sense that the creators of the series genuinely cared for the characters and tailored the story elements around them in such a way as to not destroy the core of their being. I think that has been the main downfall of "The Simpsons" over the last several years - the characters all became walking punchlines, caricatures of their former selves. "Bender's Big Score" may not have been as witty or laugh-out-loud humorous as the show was before its cancellation, but the heart is still there. I'm eager to both purchase and watch "The Beast With a Billion Backs" as soon as it's released.

I’m adding my voice to those who are surprised by the negativity felt against BBS…I was firmly in the camp of those people who regard it as an extremely strong piece of work.
Sure there ar minor niggles in that it doesn’t pick up where it left off and the Leela / Fry situation as left at the end of Futurama’s TV run was glossed over but all in all I’m happy to defend it as a very strong, intelligent piece of work.
Yes, it had a convoluted story line with time travel; but it’s honestly a breath of fresh air to get show that requires a bit of brains on the viewer’s side to get it. Anyone who just wants Family Guy level one liners and simplistic plots is in the wrong Godamned talkback.
Just listen to the audio commentary of the DVD’s and the sheer love for the programme, from the talent to the staff shines through. If there is a fault, its that it is a film that’s made for the fans..and as a fan, I’m not sure that’s a bad thing.
-
bsb was awesome and so will this be.
-
I can't help it. I love this show...good/average/bad...I can't stop myself from watching it.
-
...and Futurama fans will go APE for it. Deathball, slimy tentacles, and a SUPER-sexy animated Brittany Murphy (Leela WHO...?). "Teeny-Weenie greenie"
-
...rolled up and smoked, like a, panatella...
-
OF ROBOT HELL!!!
-
You lucky bastard! Give us more details man, but don't spoil it please. (And I really hope that was a legal screener you were entitled to get... I'm very hostile towards people screwing Futurama from its well earned money)
-
Zoidbergs hilarious "one liner" from When Aliens attack is rightly praised on the DVD commentary as one of the funniest moments ever in the show.
So yeah I'm a fan but BBS simply wasn't that funny. The plot seemed to be all they cared about and it wasn't just convoluted it was predictable. Oh! here's someone who looks and sounds like Fry, I wonder who that could be ????? Duh!
I don't freakout over canon inconsistancies I can forgive a great deal but I don't watch Futurama as a pure sci-fi show any more than I watched the early Simspons to see a show about a family. It's got to be FUNNY.
When a comedy, and lets not pretend otherwise it IS supposed to be a comedy, gets to obsessed with soapy plotlines or recurring caracters and pure fan "gags" and forgets about just being funny then I lose interest now matter how good the early Eps were.
I will watch the early seasons of Futurama again and again. I certainly won't be bothered if I don't ever see BBS again.Doesn't of course mean all Futurama is bad. Just means BBS isn't as good. -
And Futurama was his favourite show. I just got bored of it's nonsense after a while. The thing that struck me most was that the "feel" was off, like the writers were struggling to get back into the swing of thing. Anyway I'm hopeful that this will be an improvement.
-
got skinny, got a hair transplant...and became a total ahole...he was much funnier when he was on howard, was fat and balding
-
Bender's Big Score was Futurama on its B game which is still infinitely better than most shows. Still, even if it was a little disappointing I'll be buying and enjoying the remaining three films regardless.
-
unless you like tired retread jokes like this one time i was posting on aicn and..
-
I love me some Futurama!
-
It cannot be beat. It is unstoppable. I rather enjoyed Bender's Big Score. It wasn't up there with the best episodes of Futurama, but it was still heads and shoulders above anything else on television.
-
... but it's a billion times better than no FUTURAMA at all! But I guess it wouldn't be AICN without the whining fanboys.
-
The use of words expressing something other than their literal intention. Now that IS 'irony'!
-
I review DVDs for another website, and it's a legally-obtained copy, albiet one of those lame "screener copies" (in a paper sleeve, no less) where they stick a "20th Century Fox Home Entertainment" box in the corner of the frame about three times. As for spoilage, there's no real huge "twist" here, like with Lars in BBS, but there are some interesting romantic entanglements...for once NOT dealing with Fry/Leela shipping. And there's plenty of Zapp Brannigan goodness. "Kif...we have a connundrum!"
-
I will marry her now, and confine her to hell / How droll / How DROLL! / Where Styx is a river, and not just a band / But they'll play our reception if all goes as planned / UNLESS FRY, YOU SURRENDER, MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY HANDS!!!
-
Good job with the The Curious Case of Benjamin Button teaser links as well

For a site where everyone wishes every new movie should be be directed by Sir David Fincher, weak sauce on the update. -
Hopefully it will be better then the Simpsons movie unlike Benders big score. Though I guess there was a lot of geek science stuff in there that went boringly over my head. Aren't they going to start making new episodes? When does that start?
-
Make up your minds people.
While you do that I'll look for where anyone actually said Family Guy was beter than Futurama or we should stop Futurama because BBS was the weakest least funny of all Futuramas. Because I don't theeeenk anyone did.
Hard Shelled Whooping Terrier. Nobody said THAT either, mores the pity. ;) -

For whomever said they watch Futurama for comedy and not plot,
by rbatty024
I respectfully disagree. While I see where you're coming from (it wouldn't be Futurama if it wasn't funny), I think the stories are an important part of the series. The Simpsons have forgotten how to tell a story and Family Guy was never interested in telling stories (it's really just a series of non-sequiturs). Futurama can make the audience care about the characters and what happens. That is why it's the best. The Jurassic Bark episode is one of the most touching half-hours in television. It may not be as funny as some of the other episodes, but it's still one of my favorites just because of the story.
-
the robot industry--" "I get it!" "--Mom!" "Oh, NOW I get it!"
-
Bender being on a horse in the fucking title sequence absolutely PERFECTLY represents his character. Their use of "30th Century Man" is also untouchable.
-
I watched it with a group of about 20 people. Over half them got bored and left one by one. Of the ones that stayed no one actually really liked it, a couple thought it was just OK.
-
Bender's Big Score rocked in a million and one hard rockin' ways an all y'all haters can kiss my shiny metal ass.
-
I still don't understand why Nibbler had any point in it, but whatever. BBS, yes, wasn't the best of Futurama, but was not the worst (That's Lobstertainment!" takes that cake), but if you hate on it, then you're not a true fan of the science, the math, and the humor of the show. That is all. Dicks.
-
You're confusing Futurama with Family Guy, my friend.
-
Yeah!
-
Definitely need to buy this one, too.
-
One of the best characters in the best cartoon sitcom ever. Crazy man!
-
Using your logic, couldn't you say that instead of lazy beer-guzzling Fred Flintstone, we get lazy beer-guzzling Homer? And instead of long suffering Wilma, we get long-suffering Marge? These are character archetypes. I love Futurama and The Simpsons and think they have very distinct styles and senses of humor. (P.S. Only thing I didn't like about Bender's Big Score was that seemed to contradict parts of Jurassic Bark and Luck of the Fryrish)
-
Stephen Hawking *AND* Brittany Murphy?!? I smell spin-off.
-
You're right. Nobody that stupid would be allowed to continue to hold a high post in Government. That's almost as unlikely as GW Bush being elected President a second time.
-
But ten seconds later I realized what a stupid fucking idiot I was. Nah. just messing with ya, but come on, you gotta love the Zapp, almost every line he has is comedy gold, not to say his moves (the dancing at the karaoke? the towel in the head when he's asked to cover himself?). I can see your point Fireproof, but I don't think it's necessary to relate to or identify with a secondary character to enjoy his stupidness... I don't identify myself with many characters I find funny as hell, and Zapp is one of them. (Others probably are Krusty the Clown, Kartman, GOB from ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, some Gremlins from GREMLINS, etc)
-
I had no choice but to take that. You need to learn to laugh at the ridiculous rather than stressing over it. You'll live longer.
