HULK Smash Chicago!! And Capone Tells You How To See It...

Published at:  May 28, 2008 11:10:15 AM CDT

Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here, and the hits just keep on coming.

In my never-ending efforts to bring early screenings of as many of the big summer releases as possible to AICN readers in Chicago, I have an EXTREMELY LIMITED number of tickets to see the Windy City's one-and-only early screening of THE INCREDIBLE HULK on Monday, June 9 at a theater in downtown Chicago. This won't be the big blowout event that Austin is getting, but a free screening of a film like this is still pretty special.

I'm not going to lie: my anticipation of this film is only surpassed by my curiosity about it. Much like IRON MAN, the filmmakers of THE INCREDIBLE HULK appear to understand that by casting really strong actors (Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth, William Hurt) in these movies, audiences might actually grow to care about these characters and their circumstances.

Because we have such a limited number of passes (each one is good for the winner and one guest), I have to make you guys jump through a couple of hoops to win one. I can't just give these things away. So here's how this is going to work:

Send your Full Name, Age, Mailing Address, and Phone Number to hulk_aintitcoolnews@hotmail.com. The Subject Line should be "HULK SMASH!"

You must also include the answer to this trivia question: In THE INCREDIBLE HULK, Bruce Banner is hunting for a cure for what poison? If you need a little help answering this, go to http://incrediblehulk.marvel.com

Winners will be picked at random from those answering the question correctly. PASSES WILL BE MAILED TO YOU (not e-mailed)!!! And don't worry, you'll get them in plenty of time for the screening, and each pass will give time and place details about the event. If you think there's even an iota of a chance you won't be able to attend this movie on this night, do not enter this contest. You will literally be taking away a pass from someone who really wants to be there. I'd say this contest will be done within 24 hours of it posting (probably less), so enter right away.

I'll be seeing THE INCREDIBLE HULK for the first time right there with those of you who win, and I can't wait. Best of luck, everyone.

Capone

Eric Bana was good as Hulk

    by abovo

I guess that I am in the minority, but I really liked the first Hulk. I thought that Eric Bana and Jennifer Connelly were great in the roles. As much as I like Edward Norton, I can't really see him in the role.

    by chadillac69

Good job Capone (as usual). BUT... good strong actor like Liv Tyler? Are you kidding me? The only purpose she served in Lord of the Rings was to let me know when I could get up at the theater to go pee. Bana, Connoley, Sam E, and Crazy Nick aren't strong? Ang Lee tried man. I am so looking forward to this movie but let's not praise it while kinda crapping on the other one.

Why Can't I Get Excited About This Movie?

    by darth_kaos

It has Ed Norton in it! But for some reason I don't see myself going to the theater to see it. Ang Lee's Hulk was pretty boring, but the Efx look better than the current one. Now, it's possible that they're still working on the movie, up to the release. But I have low expectations.

I agree with you in theory, but that's not always an option. That being said, the Chicago IRON MAN screening was 100 percent AICN attendees. We're building to more all-readership outtings, trust me. My feeling is some passes is better than no passes. Good luck.

    by slickyvonboner

I was hesitant at first, but the clips I saw kick ass. What I wanted from the last film was a lot more action, smashing and all-out rage. Pairing the Hulk with the Abomination is perfect. I also like how they're tying the universe together with Shield and the super-soldier serum. Its about time they make a REAL Hulk movie. It looks like Marvel's getting their shit together.

    HULK SUCKS

    by jjn1268019

Sorry but I'm tired of these lame comicbook movies, Spiderman sucked, X-Men sucked, Fantastic 4 sucked, Ironman was okay but only cause it John Favra did a good job directing, and the new Batman looks like it is going to be pretty good but I'm sick and tired of all these lame comicbook flick that have been done to death, its no longer about characters its about CGI and money money money and greed... It's like Gekko said, "Greed is good, greed works."... oh yea and Transformers SUCKED!

    by kid z

...Hulk's trademark speech patterns in text. Nerds always get wrong. Like one nerd spell douchebag with "oo" and no silent-e after "ch". Hulk not smart like puny Banner, but "douchebag" easy word. Even Hulk can spell "douchebag"! Stupid nerds. Hulk smash!

    by violator90

Oh and the movie is kinda iffy for me. I'm really really hoping that its good. IRON MAN was great but now with SPEED RACER blinding me with the overkill fx and Indy just being a plain disappointmen and what my friend referred to as "being cheated out." Haven't really heard much on Narnia2 so the Hulk; I'm really trying to have some kind of good expectations. Bats is a foo show thing.

how people are declaring TDK the greatest movie ever and none of you have even seen it yet.

In a strange way, I hope it's really bad so some of you will learn to judge things AFTER you have all the necessary info.

I think you present an interesting claim. (I am a fan of your opinions, btw) But I think my instinct tells me, though over-hyped and bordering on cliche, TDK is going to beat them all. Besides the Heath issue, sequel issue, and anything else, the one thing that to me brings it above all else at the end of the day .. - it was directed by Nolan. This man, Chris Nolan, check out his resume. That is where I get so much faith. But I must admit to you, I am rooting for Hulk and will be seeing it opening day and at least 2-3 times afterwards as I always do. I root for them all and wish them all to equal = us getting more installments. !!
