Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. A few weeks ago the below spy started bombarding us with emails. D-DOG is his name and he scoured the internet for stories and sent each link to us. We've been discussing doing a news round-up here for some time. The internet has always been a big place, but especially in the last 2 or 3 years the film news community has exploded. It's hard to keep up with everything constantly going on, so I asked D-DOG if he'd be willing to send in a daily report rounding up the news we didn't give its own story.

I am not stoked to see this flick maybe we should just close our eyes when that creepy young Jason comes on screen..i mean my god…scary little boy…he seems more threatening that the actual Jason but the movie sounds a whole lot better to me now…

Alright here news that candyman is going to be in the new sequel to the original romero dawn of the dead…so im lil lost it’s a sequal to dawn of the dead so will that mean diary and day never took place ? unless romero gives his approval seems kinda like a slap in the face to me
Heres to hope that this is no Day of the Dead 2: Contagium ..that was hard for me to watch. I am one of the the few that dig day of the dead and was not down for a romero less sequel

I myself have never read Witchblade. looked ok to me. didn't they have a tv show based on the same thing?? anyhow how about a grendel or madman comic movie? i'd also love to see some of the DC vertigo titles done....

It's one thing to have complete illiterates submitting the occasional movie spy report--that's good for a few laughs. But please... get someone who can actually communicate in English if you plan on making this a regular feature. This guy can't spell or use proper grammar more than 50 percent of the time. Are you that lazy or do you have that much disdain for your readership?

Add flying saucers to Night of the Living Dead and you have Plan 9 without the camp. This isn't worth doing. Now, if you were going to do a remake of, say, THE INCREDIBLE TWO-HEADED TRANSPLANT, well then, you just got my attention.

I can name hundreds of films that are worse: anything with Tom Cruise or Kevin Costner attached to it, all Indiana Jones and Star Wars crap, the Sex in the City movie, and most of Harry's DVD picks.

I like the way I get news now. This doesn't feel right on AICN. Maybe if Harry gave us a story every other day on what he's hearing out there but this is just not making me excited. I love almost everything you guys do, just not into this one that much....

...is utterly pointless. Ed Wood's filmmography is pretty fucked in the head, but it's original and a beautiful tribute to the wide-eyed dreamer who DIDN'T succeed. He's famous and beloved nowadays, but obviously that wasn't always the case. I'm usually okay with remakes simply because they don't really harm anyone and I cling to a romantic belief that a jazzed-up remake will get young moviegoers to pick up the original and discover the real gem. But remaking Plan 9 is total bullshit. I say leave Wood and his strange legacy alone.

...it's directed by Uwe Boll.Then in a list of all films in history, PLAN 9 would officially be the worst movie ever made AND the second to last worst movie ever made.Of course, between Ed Wood's version and Uwe Boll's, we could then have a lively debate over who made the more laughable and shittier film. Personally, my money is on Uwe taking the worst slot and Ed Wood finally moving up a slot!

...Which should never be remade, but have tons of new sequels made. Why couldn't we have a proper sequel to "Jason X"? It had a typical cliffhanger ending which begs for a follow-up. It could have progressed the series into a futuristic horror/sci-fi territory. We're going to just abandon that now? The best thing about the Friday 13th movies was the continuation in the sequels. What a total waste of time this remake is. And what an insult to the series. I dont care how good a movie it turns out to be. It should not have happened.

I am actually ok with a Plan 9 remake. Eddie originally intended to make it a serious, scary flick - obviously he failed, and the reason most of us love it today is because of the unintentional hilarity (and Ed's unshakeable enthusiasm). Seeing it done in a serious light (with a whole new script) is pretty interesting to me, but won't tarnish my love for the original. What really interests me is that the same company will be re-releasing the original film on DVD with the remake, with a new commentary by Conrad Brooks. I'd love to hear some of the stories that guy has about working with Ed. But no, Michael Bay and Uwe Boll should never touch this. Ever.

Hmmmmmm..............the 17th-century "Punisher", basically, but what the hell...
"Witchblade" looks like fuckin' Jessica Alba-level trash, and making a "serious" "Plan 9" is a bad idea - that story was never more than z-grade Sci-Fi Network material to begin with - you'd have to be pretty goddamn sly and subtle to get the real point across. Which is that we geeks KNOW it's all repetitious, idealogically-bankrupt crap - it's the SINCERITY that matters. Ed Wood was a goofy man-child turned loose in the candy store, and a man that happy could NOT make a truly frightening, macabre movie. He just didn't have the moxie to do it. That he still tried is what makes "Plan 9" so damn enjoyable. -

I am the Monica Bellucci advocate around here. She would've been perfect for the role of the Baroness, especially since they cast Chris Eccleston as Destro in his 40s. I also think Bellucci would be perfect for the role of Talia Al Ghul or even Catwoman. But Sienna does look good.

Just go to Google...up top select IMAGES...and then type in Claudia Black. You'll be rewarded with lots of yummy pictures.All in all, I have to say Claudia could have made for fine leather-clad Baroness...as a geek I like her and all...but so far the stills I've seen of Miller haven't caused me to panic just yet. So far she seems to look quite nice in tight leather too. Then again, I think ALL hot looking women should be dressed in tight form fitting leather, but that's a whole other topic!But I agree with Lynxpro above. Since they went for a 40-something Destroy and hired Eccleston, hiring Monica Bellucci would have been fabulous co-casting given her age and her obvious startling looks. Then again, put Monica in leather and you can do no wrong!!!
