Published at:  May 16, 2008 5:59:19 PM CDT

SPOILER ALERT !!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. If the summer wasn't going well already, now we have evidence of what I'm expecting will be one of the funniest of the year. The first trailer for TROPIC THUNDER was funny... the redband trailer... could possibly be the funniest trailer I've ever seen.

CLICK IT HERE TO GET IT IN GLORIOUS QUICKTIME HD... VIA ITUNES....

I hear there'll be a streaming (ie easier access) one soon, but you won't get that until after the weekend.

Enjoy it!

    iTunes?

    by spiegeltrui

Who the fuck has iTunes installed? So... what? They DON'T want everybody to see this trailer? They're willing to sacrifice a part of the audience for this movie, just so they can sell some more iTunes accounts? This is retarded. Companies are always trying to make me watch advertisements. And now, with the one product I am interested in... I can't watch the commercial for it because I don't have some invasive piece of software installed on my PC. Ah what the heck... I want to see this trailer so bad, I'll install iTunes just to watch it! Wait... what's that? iTunes isn't available for my OS? Fuck this!

Yeah fuck me for not knowing the difference between commercial software number 1 and commercial software number 2. And besides, even if I don't pay them directy, by installing their software I increase their market share, which allows them to enforce the restrictions on people more easily. Ok whatever, maybe I'm overreacting, but iTunes still sucks, and the idea of restricting people to see your advertisement is still retarted. Also, you're a dumb ass.

The 'best parts in the trailer' argument.

    by jimmay

All the trailers ever show are the most puerile and obnoxious jokes from the movie--people falling down, getting hit with things, and those tacky and predictable setup-flash-record needle scratching sound effect-zinger exchanges; essentially, bits so simple and base a brain-injured AM radio listener could get them. If those truly are the funniest parts of the movie, stay far, far away.

    by jimmay

It looks like it might actually be pretty entertaining. Lord knows we need a good comedy in this country, with exploding gas and food prices and anemic wage growth, we need to laugh, and bottom-feeding, regurgitated swill like Mike-I haven't written a new joke in almost a decade-Myers' latest craptacular 'The Guru' just isn't going to cut it.

Anyone wonder if there is any FBI profiling going on, you know, scanning for trends, in what kind of movie trailers you watch? from The Ben Stiller Show. He was always best lampooning Hollywood and show biz, not suprising given his parents, and this looks like a return to form. And hurrah for down and dirty obscene Jack Black. He was getting too Nickelodeonised, as was Stiller. And Robert Downey Jr may get a best supporting Oscar nom in a comedy, considering the years he's having. is trying to get his image back on track with calculated precision. His attempt at humanizing himself by this 'humorous' cameo is really off-putting. I was looking forward to this film until I found out months ago that he was in it. Check out the bald pics of him in a ‘fat suit’ that he tried to get suppressed. Gee, getting fired by Redstone and then satirizing himself as well as Sumner in this look-a-like role to get him back in good graces so he can play Ethan again. Hardy har ha... Well, COS is no laughing matter Mr. Cruise. Just ask the victims.
