Final HELLBOY II poster is pretty sweet...
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Comingsoon.net got their hands on the premiere of the final HELLBOY II poster and I like it a lot. The color scheme is good, the hero pose is great... Cool stuff.
I've also heard the movie has started to screen internally and the word is great on it so far. Can't wait to see it myself! Enjoy the poster and you can click thought to ComingSoon to get the big version!

Looks sweet though someone should tell him that his belt is on fire.
-
...but it's just a poster. I don't chub over posters.
-
Still gotta wait weeks n' weeks for this to come out...
-
This movie smells good.

or something

Beautifully composed and elegant.. not like the Indy Mess.

It was OK, do you have to be a comic fan to appreciate it or something?

Cool poster but to the guy slagging off the Indy poster
by barnaby jones
Get a clue ! It's how its meant to look !
-
Clean, simple and dynamic. Good tag line.
-
LOVE the 1st movie. Fantastic. The new one looks even better. I have 100% confidence I will enjoy this.
-
But judging by the trailer for this looks like GDT has really let loose on both his imagination and his vision for action and quite honestly it looks fantastic.
-
what a lovely poster - immediately makes me like the film more... excellent...
-
There's a pretty fun (i.e. not Cloverfield-style complex as fuck) game going on for this at hetfet.org, and I've been keeping a blog tracking the whole thing at: hellboybigredblog.blogspot.com. Get involved!
-
I like it.

what a lovely poster - immediately makes me like the film more... excellent...
-
good good
-
looks pretty epic ! In a stupid kinda way.
-
Yeah, it looks okay. Better than MUMMY RETURNS and SCORPION KING, at least. Is is just me, or does anyone else miss Rachel Weisz as Evelyn? I mean, I like me some Maria Bello, but I LOVE me some Mrs. Aronofsky. Yum.
-
Just a plain old movie. Nothing special. Not holding out much hope for this one either, to be honest. And the Indy poster is hopeless. These days Drew Struzan just paints the same design over and over.
-
As much as i like her, i thought she was the weakest part of The Fountain and as far as The Mummy goes her role was very disposable, Maria Bello is easily as yummy, not to mention fiesty.
-
The sequel looks like it'll put that right though.
-
It may not be breaking new ground, but it's in kepping with the posters of the prvious flicks. I for one am glad it hasn't been tarted up for a new millenium.
-
...and told him that this poster is quite nice.
-
nice and basic for such a fullll on film... but is it TOOOOO basic? and his body looks widdely...
-
Damn You Michael Bay
-
I finally got around to watching the Devil's Backbone last night. I was most impressed. Best ghost story I've seen in a long time.
-
surely his name is big enough to be used now after the Hobbit shenanigans rather than saying "from the guy who bought you a film you've heard is good but has subtitles so never watched but this ones in english so go get some". give del toro some love!
-
Putting 'The Visionary Director' *isn't* selling him??
-
The first one missed the mark somewhere which was a shame since he visually hit the bullseye in so many ways. Perleman was perfect and the look was great but dammit it just didn't come off no matter how much I wanted it to. Great property but I have little faith, Del Toro is all perfect look and vacuity.
-
what, inside your head, quint?
-
It's iconic. Apparently, Hollywood has forgotten about making something look iconic.
-
http://tinyurl.com/58awc5 Stupid, mindless, cheesy and FUN!!! It looks enjoyable, like the first one. And, I didn't know this, but Michelle Yeoh!
-
sequence but then kind of meandered...hopefully this one will be better.
-
. . . hell's his tail?! Now don't tell me they lost the tail do to an inconvienance of the actor! Least I hope not.
-
Indy next week...Wall*E, Hellboy 2, The Dark Knight..X-files...Already Iron Man. Not too shabby.
-
I think it warrants a Horizotal format what with the chopping off of the billowong coat tails and lack of tail and the fact sunsets always look better in Widescreen but It's sweet!Hop ethis movies fully formed and suitably epic coz although I enjoyed the first on It felt like a lot was missing somehow!?Pleeeeze Be Good!!!
-
the hellboy comic is one of the finest graphic novels ever, the hellboy movie is fucking awful..this one will be fucking awful too. Oh, and the poster is shit. His arms look too short and it looks like he's wearing those leather trousers that shrunk when Ross tried to wear them in Friends...
-
First, Iron Man punches the ground every time I see him, and now Hellboy. Is this the new standard in super-people posing?
-
I disagree with your assessment of the first movie, but thanks for the dorky Friends joke. And Squidman: That fucking ground had it coming with it's nefarious plans end evil scemes. Fuck the ground and I'm glad someone is finally fighting back.
-
But even if Guillermo del Toro IS visionary...this word has been tossed around waaaaaay too much over the last years.
Sooner or later we will hear something like "From the visionary director of Drillbit Taylor"... -
Keeping your lawn nice can be a real exercise in futility.
Anyway great poster - really looking forward to this movie. Looks like it'll be a lot of fun. -
Anybody wanna see the Japanese Indy posters I got with my call phone? No idea if they are the same ones in the states though...
Mummy looks iffy. Banked on too many effects and no story, I 'magine.
Hellboy looks sweet, del Toro is visionary, but, yes, that word has been over used now. -
For those who didn't see the first movie, or aren't familiar with the character, I think it's a good marketing idea to sell Hellboy as an unorthodox hero
-
yeah, its a good way to sell it. Del Toro (do you capitalize "del" if its at the beginning of the sentence?) is gonna get a lot more renowned from Pan's Labrinth, so this is playing off that, I think. Yeah, the punchy punchy ground thing is kinda Hulkish, but hey, its violence in a non-violence kinda way. Smart advertising during campaign times. hmmmm.
-
mighty joe young!!!
also del toro had blade do it in blade 2, hellboy and samael doin' it in hellboy.
i for one support ground punching. -
I swear a lot and that makes me a poor example at times. Seriously, I swear a LOT. Probably because I work with cops. Or maybe its the Tourettes. OK I don't have Tourettes but it's a convenient excuse when you spout something more spicy than "Oh Crap."
Anyway, I thought the first Hellboy rocked and had a great visual style and this one looks like it's going to be knocked out of the park by delToro.
Count me in.
"Believe it or not"

Go get your own pose.
-
hit the enter key too soon. its a problem i have.
ground punching: good. but it doesnt punch back, so makes for kind of a weak bad guy. Lots of "dirt bag" Eastwood-style jokes though, i foresee. -
... at my enjoyment. I don't love it, but I enjoy them and I enjoy seeing what inventive special effects they come up with. I don't even own the first two, but I'm really looking foward to part 3. I know that the first one is debatable as a good movie, the second one is a definately a bad movie, but I like them anyway.
-
I think punching the ground tells Hellboy's villains, "If I can fuck up the ground I can fuck up you!" It has an intimidating feel. Personally, I would steer clear of someone who's fuckin' up the ground.
-
he's STILL beating the s**t out of the last guy he buried! He is a thorough superhero.
-
I thought Ironman was something new, mistakenly. Hellboy looks impressive doin it too!! I want to see him up the anty. Shoot the ground!
-
that Hellboy's oversized fist has a protective covering made from Hulk Hogan's scrotal sack?
-
No, wait...That's someone else.
Can't wait for this flick. The first film was a lot of fun, regardless of comments from haters obviously frustrated by their inability to lose their virginity.
-
and the rest of him is from satan

Anyone else looking forward to HB2 despite the first one?
by chicagoronin
Personally, I have mixed feelings about the first Hellboy film. I thought the look of the film was great, and really enjoyed the casting and characterizations (Ron Perlman especially), but the actual plot left me a bit cold. The action scenes felt more obligatory than inspired, and the climax of the film was, well, anticlimactic IMHO. However, I'm hoping that the above was simply a case of Guillermo del Toro continuing to refine his chops working on a Hollywood movie (Love his Spanish-language stuff, especially "Pan's Labyrinth").
-
Lookin' very much forward to the sequel.
-
Man I thought the Snake Eyes costume was cool till now. I has a fucking face. An actual fucking face. He looks like Swampthing from the original movie painted black wearing pants. Top that off with the shity black costumes we saw on the Joes before are not the only ones they wear... no. Aparently they wear fucking shiney metal suits of armor too. I am so disgusted. Hell Boy looks great though.
-
Is doing the movie's score? Awesome! Ever since Sam Raimi made him hate movies, I'm glad to see him back at work.
-
that this site will be covered in asskissingly positive reviews about how mindblowing and bar-raising it is. I'm even willing to bet it will be compared to a disgusting sexual practice of some sort.
-
in the extras for "The Mist?" I wonder why the studio doesn't let him use Drew for his posters.Yeah, there was that special Drew Hellboy poster, but I didn't see that one in the theater, just online.Oh well...this poster is still great looking.
-
oH hell yeah love it.
-
wow. even the real "visionary" ones never got that tag in the poster. they are really hyping pan's labyrinth too hard. i thought it's waaaay overrated. the bridge to terabithia was similar, only vastly superior. the overpraised devil's backbone was nothing special either. i guess i just dont get the love for the man. his other two mexicans pals, on the other hand...
-
I liked the original, and I think this one will be sweet, but the general public isn't too big on Hellboy.I'm betting a 45-50 mil opening weekend, with a few people catching Hancock again or who missed it the week before (it WILL be a funny/action hit, just watch) and then thats it: Dark Knight is coming.Hopefully that'll be enough to complete a trilogy, and it'll do well on dvd/blu-ray, I"m sure.
-
We KNOW Hellboy's the good guy, because — since this is the SEQUEL — audiences have seen that in the FIRST film. And the poster is beyond bad: a straight SIDEVIEW of Hellboy punching the ground??? Who's he fighting? What's the threat? Where's the excitement, for an action film? NO dramatic angles???And possibly worst of all: The FOCUS of the poster (Hellboy) is squeezed in the middle and only takes up a third of the poster!!! The rest is empty space, taken up by dark clouds above and ground below!I nominate this as dumbest and most lackluster action movie poster of the year! BLECH! >:P
-
:)
For the record, I think it's a badass poster. But it does look like that Iron Man pose turned to the side. -
I don't see nuthin' to mark it out as a second movie. except the byline. And the tag reeks of marketing-team BS. 'Believe it or not; he's the good guy..' PeeeYooo! Hellboy needs more attitude i.e. sunglasses.
-
After "Pan's Labyrinth," I'll see anything Del Toro directs.
Great poster. -
Wait-For-DVD
-
Why don't they use Mike Mignola's art?
-
he looks,,,weird. is that cg? definately not a natural pose.
-
Blade 2. Nah, I kid. It's just now that del Toro has a widely acclaimed popular "arthouse" hit under his belt, it will be attached to everything. From the visionary director of Pan's Labyrinth comes..this commercial for Charmin.
-
maybe he thinks he's Ironhide and trying to knock out a few government vehicles.
-
Check out some of Del Toro's other smaller Spanish language films like "The Devil's Backbone" and "Cronos."
-
With all the hype surrounding Iron Man, Indy and Dark Knight, Hellboy II is coming in under the sumemr movie radar. But once it is released, I think it will be a real treat for fans of the comic and Del Toro. After the success of Pan's Labyrinth, Del Toro has more control of the reigns now, and can now unleash the newly refined visual style he established in PL. From what I've seen in the trailers, HB2 promises to deliver far more interest and excitement than its predecessor, which wasn't all that bad. I'm looking to Hellboy II as a refreshing oasis in the desert between Indy and Dark Knight.
-
I think the comments about it looking like it could've come from the first film are valid. Then again, from what I understand the first film wasn't a commercial success - this poster is probably a good second attempt to sell the concept of the character to the potential audience.Speaking of posters, I came across this while browsing Coming Soon (sorry if others have already posted it):

by crichtonastronut
awesome. All the sytle of the original Hellboy movie with a more epic scope. Can't wait. Plus, f'n Del Toro.
-
that had been weighing on my mind for a while.
I loved Hellboy, can't wait for this! Not fussed about the poster but feel a lot better knowing that Hulk Hogan's scrotal sack will be protecting humanity once again. -
Blade movies. 1 was good, but didn't quite hit great. Blade 3 was of course a total mess that seemed unable to decide what story it wanted to tell until the last frame. Blade 2 was Awesome. It had balls, it had heart, the best story, the best characters, the action, and yes, even the best acting of the three.
-
wtf even kate beckinsale did this pose. isnt it like some manga astro boy pose? so tired of it. blah.
-
only get leading man roles when he's covered in latex (Hellboy, Beauty And The Beast, Quest For Fire).I hope this doesn't turn out to be another Riddick...big budget sequel to an original that did better on video than theatrical..

Poster design? Just send it to the unimaginative Mac dept.
by the_other_lebowski
Some one mentioned Struzan earlier and his HB2 poster is nice, though I liked his poster for the first flick best. The new one looks more like a comic cover than a movie poster (which given the subject matter isn't such a terrible thing).
I know there are some Struzan haters out there but at least there is still a poster artist out there (yes, I know more than he still exist...)
I just get tired of all the crappy photoshop posters out there now. Add this one to the pile. -
I'll see the movie anyway since I'm a geek and the summer is my favorite movie-going season. What can I say? I'm still a big kid at heart who prefers big budget doofy summer movies over the heavy-handed Oscar drama bait that will start clogging the screens in the Fall. That said, I think the poster is incredibly lackluster given the trailer we've seen. For crying out loud, he's kneeling as if he's either winded or needs to take a crap, which is about as un-actionful and un-heroic as you can get... there's no sense of him squaring off against anyone or anyTHING (considering he'll be fighting monsters)... oh yeah, and for extra action, he's punching the fucking LAWN. Wow! That gives me shivers right up my spine!Basically, it's nice to know that Hellboy is so strong and heroic in this thing that he can beat up a few blades of grass.Sorry, I agree with others. I may not like the latest INDY poster since it's yet another floating heads poster (which desperately NEEDS to be retired for a long, long time as a poster design theme), but I can still appreciate Struzan's actual artwork versus yet another Photoshop "meh" image. Truth be told, I'm really unimpressed by this given how cool the trailer looked overall...
-
A.) He's done the superhero thing TO DEATH, and B.) Marco Beltrami wrote some excellent thematic material for the first film, so it'll be sad if none of it is expanded upon in the sequel. I want the Hellboy/Liz love theme back! :(
-
I totally agree about Beltrami's music deserving further exploration. I thought his stuff for Terminator 3 was pretty bland, but I really enjoyed his Hellboy music - there was some real heart to it, as well as great action/adventure type cues.
-
..though there's a shot of him pushing his way past some folks or cops, and I could swear his big demonic forearm bounced around like it was styrofoam secured with masking tape. Bugs me when stuff like that makes it in cuz I can't help but notice it every time I see the movie (ie. '89 Batman's belt slipping an inch while he's looking up at the joker's helicopter)
-
I am there on opening day.
