Stone Finds His Rumsfeld!!

Merrick here...
This news actually appeared last last week & evaded detection by many outlets. Since we've been covering the film extensively, this seemed like it was still worthy of mention: The about-as-cool-as-cool-can-get Scott Glenn has been cast to play the about-as-uncool-as-uncool-can-get Donald Rumsfeld in Oliver Stone's W. Rumsfeld (l) -vs- Glenn (r). I see it...
The Lionsgate release will hit theaters on October 17, 3 weeks before the Presidential election on November 4.

The problem is when you are honest and objective, the Conservatives look bad. Having said that, I am betting a movie based upon Goldwater would probably be good as he was a real conservative unlike the True Believers who have occupied the high office recently.

On a number of levels. Latest issue of EW says they begin filming in 2 weeks but: - the script is not finished - Several principles are still not yet cast - Stone wants to RELEASE it be NOVEMBER 2008. How in retardo world is this even possible? No love for Bush here, but I want a GOOD FUCKING MOVIE from Stone on this topic, not something he slaps together to make a point this fall.

More than that, he's both cool and can act, which is even more rare these days. <p>As for the film though, I'll wait and see. Everyone thought that Nixon was going to be some caricatured ranting conspiracy hack job too, and it actually turned out to be a pretty fair and measured dramatisation. So, we'll see.

    by viola123

I swear. I love "JFK" but Oliver Stone making this movie is just a load of crap. When was the last time Oliver Stone made ANYTHING good? Yeah, I'm thinking "JFK" too. He's desperate, trying to still stay in the political arena, wanting to fire up the public. It is sad and yeah, I might be defensive because it's about the President, but nonetheless. Oliver Stone is reaching and the script, the story? It's going to reek of it, too. No doubt. That "EW" cover made me boil!

Any actor who gets the part is going to have a blast. He just has to be in perpetual contempt of all things. Paul Giamatti in makeup would be great. And things like these major economic crises he would have been blamed for too (though I think the Republican policies made them even worse). But after the debacle of the last 8 years, where George Bush has clearly not been qualified for the job, Al Gore's going to look like the greatest President we never had and get no blame for the unavoidable disasters that would have happened no matter who was President.

I am a huge fan of Oliver Stone's films (everything he made before WTC and Alexander anyway.) If he gives Bush the Nixon treatment (which is one of my top 3 favorite films of all time) then I'll be very excited. So, far his casting choices appear to be spot on (with the exception of Elizabeth Banks) I really can't see her as Laura Bush; especially after Joan Allen's brilliant turn as Patricia Nixon. I also didn't like the first few pages of the script that leaked out. But if he's got Robert Richardson shooting I'll back this film 100%. Ever since RR stopped lensing Stone's films I've felt that something was missing. Stone if you are reading this (I'm a longtime fan) do whatever you can to get RR DP'ing. The two of you made an incredible team. Please get him back!!!!!!

Just to stay on topic...Glenn is one of the most underrated actors working. His work in Silverado (if all was fair in the world) should have earned him an Oscar. His manager Johnny Planco is also one of the coolest and most brilliant people I have ever had the pleasure to meet...And he clearly knew what he was doing getting SG attached to this project. Keep in mind people that regardless of what you might think of Bush...Stone on a good day gets some of the best work out of actors you will ever see. Brolin is an on a roll right now and he'll probably win his first oscar for this film I predict.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman to play Jon Stewart doing his Cheney duck impression whilst interviewing Samule L Jackson (who has to be in every movie). Or something. You know a lot of radical Islamic websites still claim 9/11 was an inside job. Which goes to prove that everyone is a fuckhead. You want Osama to be praised for doing it but obviously the infidels did it to themselves first. Phillip Seymour Hoffman to play Bin Laden. We can simply clip all of the HATE speech that is constantly played in "news" media outlets like CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, along with those found online at the Washington Post and New York Times. </p> <p>Who knows -- maybe people will understand where all of this vilification of the Bush Administration comes from once they see it in one happy film coming straight from the asses and mouths (hard to tell the difference) of hyper-Liberal leftists everywhere! </p> <p>The film can end with a nice photo of Jesus Christ being pissed on by some artist screaming, "Taste some of my golden tolerance, you bigot Jesus. If you want, I'll crap on you too!" </p> p.s. - I like to parody the mindless puke that vomits from the mouth of liberals in the TB. Obama Is Going To Win...

    by fassbinder79

...Because McCain will pick Condoleeza Rice as his VP to break into some of Barack support among African Americans. Its the only hope he's got if Barack picks a female VP like Gov. Sebellius. Both Hillary and Barack have brought in more new and old supporters that the entire Republican race combined which is why the MSM is so afraid of Barack clinching the nomination because THEY KNOW HE WILL WIN! The only way to stop Barack is cut away at some his support base. He has been winning the black vote recently by 90% (something he had to earn by the way). Black voters in the beginning were extremely skeptical of him many people seem to have forgotten. McCain's only hope is a black VP and when this happens and he picks Condi (the person he will trust most because of her loyal ties to Bush) McCain will go down in flames.

My experience talking politics so far...

    by drewlicious

A lot of people have no sense of humor when it comes to politics. Ironically those that veer farther to the left and love the Daily Show (like I do) get dead serious and just plain mean when they come across an opinion that differs. Why is that? Don't believe me? Go look at the talkbackers at the Huffington Post, especially when the subject is Jenna Bush's wedding. When does a simple disagreement turn into festering hatred exactly? And in case anyone is planning on flaming me and calling me a rightwinger just keep in mind I am independent and am just irritated with the way things are a normal person is.

I can't help but get the feeling that this film may be counter productive. What if it galvanises support for the Republicans by coming across as a poorly conceived liberal diatribe? Conservatives may gripe about how the 'liberal media' unfairly demonises them but what else can we on the left do but make movies? Right wingers are the ones who run all the governments, own all the banks, own all the companies we work for, own the businesses that make all our food. The list goes on! And any time we liberals even dare suggest that, y'know, some of you guys may not be all that nice you leap right down our throats. Any time any scientist or politician dares put their head above the parapet and suggest that our planet might just be being cooked to a cinder by global warming they are told angrily to shut up. I simply do not understand why you right wing folks feel so threatened when you are armed with tanks against pebbles.

My support for Obama comes from before he started running for President. Barack spoke in very specific and eloquent terms about our need to invest in alternative fuels. Not simply to get us off of foreign oil but to create a product/export that other countries could depend on us for as opposed to the other way around. This is something he truly believes in and it is a necessity for our economy (we are on the verge of a depression like after the crash in 29 very soon) and for our stability in regards to relationships with other countries. I also respect Barack's message of uniting the two parties and I DO NOT support an across the board mandated health care plan like the one Edwards and Hillary proposed that would charge people 2,200 dollars month whether they wanted the health care or not. I also respect the fact that Barack was against the war from the start and when it wasn't politically convenient for him to have that position running for the Senate. He also predicted what would happen specifically and all of his predictions on Iraq, Pakistan and Iran have come to pass. He has also run the best and most organized campaign of any of the candidates raising unbelievably large sums of money from SMALL DONORS. That by itself should tell you alot about how he will run his government. He honors the constitution and he has the best plan for dealing with our environmental crisis since Al Gore. The "Change" and "Yes We Can" mottos may sound hoakey at times but just because it sounds silly doesn't mean it won't happen. He also doesn't take any money from PAC or lobbyists.

    great casting

    by maverick2484

Glenn is one the best character actors around, and bears a surprising likeness to Rumsfeld! Slick the hair back and throw some glasses on him, he'll be a dead ringer. I love the cast for this film, particularly Cromwell as H.W., but I can't help but think that Stone is doing it too soon. If he releases this in November, the possible political implications of the film may very well overshadow whatever artistic merit it might have. Also, it's hard to reflect soberly on a presidency that's still going on. The artistic portrait that Stone made of Nixon in '95 was properly a much richer study of the man than a filmmaker would have been liable to make in the '70s. Of course, if Stone isn't interested in sober reflection and is interested in this project specifically so that it can be born of the heated politics of the moment, then his cause his more political than artistic, and he deserves whatever political barbs are thrown his way.

To an extent, you're right; the capacity of any one candidate from either the Republicans or the Democrats to change Washington is limited. If Obama is elected (and I think he will be), we're not going to be seeing any Soviet-style revolutions any time soon. That said, there are importants differences between Obama and McCain on Iraq, domestic taxation, health care, and relations with foreign leaders. This is important stuff. I hope that no one here is among that apathetic class that throws up their hands and says that all politicians are the same no matter what. McCain is about as solid and forthright a Republican as you're likely to find, and Obama has energized young voters as no candidate has since Kennedy. These are serious men who deserve serious consideration; I just hope they fight the campaign on issues and not the sideshow crap like Jeremiah Wright and who McCain voted for in 2000.

I can't speak for other countries, but here in the UK no one gives a shit. Politician's are power hungry parasites, one and all. Unfortunately they are a necessary evil, that doesn't mean you should defend them, concentrate your thoughts on your friends and family, not those scumbags.

Haven't been attack since 9/11? Well, that happened on his watch. So, he's terrible for anti-terrorism. World-wide terrorism has increased according to the NIE, which also states that we played right into bin Laden's plans by invading an oil-rich country. I live in Minnesota; I somehow doubt that we'll ever suffer a terrorist attack in Minneapolis. He's caused the deaths of over 4,000 troops and over 100,000 Iraqis. He's put up record deficits in his two terms. Health care, social security and immigration are all fucked because of him. You lose. And couchtrip105? Do you even know what a socialist is? This country is partly socialist, you know? Road maintanence, schools, public transportation, etc. all because of socialism. Every civilized country pays taxes to the government for services, therefore, every country has some sort of socialism in its system. And Rumsfeld is humble? Do you realize that he wanted another attack after the 2006 elections so people would start voting republica again? Yes, a humble and great man who will go down in history as the worst Secretary of Defense of all time. Here's him talking about how he hopes we get attacked again: RUMSFELD: That's what I was just going to say. This President's pretty much a victim of success. We haven't had an attack in five years. The perception of the threat is so low in this society that it's not surprising that the behavior pattern reflects a low threat assessment. The same thing's in Europe, there's a low threat perception. The correction for that, I suppose, is an attack..."

    by Colonel Activity

In the initial stages of the war on terror, the Central Intelligence Agency, under George Tenet, was rising to prominence as the lead agency in the Afghanistan war. But when Tenet insisted in his personal meetings with President Bush that there was no connection between Al Qaeda and Iraq, Vice-President Dick Cheney and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld initiated a secret program to re-examine the evidence and marginalize the CIA and Tenet. The questionable intelligence acquired by this secret program was "stovepiped" to Cheney and presented to the public. In some cases, Cheney’s office would leak the intelligence to news correspondents, who would in turn cover it in such outlets such as The New York Times. Cheney would subsequently appear on the Sunday political television talk shows to discuss the intelligence, referencing The New York Times as the source to give it credence.

    Sure Col...

    by viktor-bc

What emerges from the intelligence presented in the 9/11 report is that Iraq had an ongoing and cooperative relationship with al-Qaeda that intensified after 2001. There were grounds for concern that if Iraq continued along the same path, expertise in weapons of mass destruction might have been provided to al-Qaeda. Indeed, British intelligence raised the possibility in March 2003 that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's "sleeper cells" in Baghdad, on the eve of the Iraq War, might use biological and chemical agents in a future insurgency against U.S. troops. A real change in the relationship can be discerned after 2001, if the British and Senate intelligence reports are also examined. After the overthrow of the Taliban, a number of al-Qaeda refugees sought a safe haven in the Kurdish areas controlled by Ansar al-Islam, which, as noted above, was receiving help from Baghdad, even if it was geographically situated in a zone beyond the control of the Iraqi regime. The British Butler report details how British intelligence made it clear that "al-Qaeda-linked facilities in the Kurdish Ansar al-Islam area were involved in the production of chemical and biological agents." Secretary of State Colin Powell spoke about this terrorist WMD facility before the UN Security Council on February 5, 2003. While expressing doubts about other details in his speech, the Senate intelligence report backed up Powell on the details of what he said on terrorism. The Butler report also explains that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, whom it described as "a senior al-Qaeda figure," was free to travel throughout Iraq in 2002. By March 2003, the British noted that "al-Qaeda-associated terrorists continued to arrive in Baghdad." According to intelligence in the Butler report, al-Zarqawi was establishing "sleeper cells in Baghdad" that were to be activated for a post-invasion insurgency against U.S. forces in Iraq. British intelligence raised the possibility that, besides employing car bombs, these cells would use chemical or biological materials. Al-Qaeda, it reported, "has shown interest in gaining chemical and biological expertise from Iraq." But the British did not know one way or the other if this expertise was actually provided. CIA Director George Tenet went one step further than the British. In September 2002 he told a closed session of the Senate Intelligence Committee that Iraq had provided al-Qaeda with WMD training, noting that despite his suspicions about Islamic groups, Saddam Hussein was not averse "to enhancing bin Laden's operational capabilities."

Another meaning of stovepiping is "piping" of raw intelligence data directly to decision makers, bypassing established procedures for review by professional intelligence analysts for validity (a process known as vetting), an important concern since the information may have been presented by a dishonest source with ulterior motives, or may be invalid for myriad other reasons. The risk inherent with stovepiping is that government policy will have been based on faulty intelligence, and thus will be without rational basis (a garbage in, garbage out scenario). The Office of Special Plans (OSP), created by the Bush administration, stovepiped raw intelligence related to Saddam Hussein's government in Iraq to high level Bush administration officials. Professional analysts from other departments determined that many of these reports originated with dishonest sources or were untrue for other reasons, and the process of vetting would have prevented their reaching decision makers through normal channels. This stovepiping by the OSP had the effect providing a substantial portion of the untrue allegations that formed the publicly declared justifications for the 2003 Invasion of Iraq, such as allegations of collaboration with Al Qaeda and an ongoing program of weapons of mass destruction.

Saddam Hussein's government did not cooperate with al Qaeda prior to the U.S. invasion of Iraq, the U.S. Defense Department said in a report based on interrogations of the deposed leader and two of his former aides. Meanwhile, Vice President Dick Cheney repeated his assertions of al Qaeda links to Saddam's Iraq, contending that the terrorist group was operating in Iraq before the March 2003 invasion led by U.S. forces and that terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was leading the Iraqi branch of al Qaeda. Others in al Qaeda planned the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. "He took up residence there before we ever launched into Iraq, organized the al Qaeda operations inside Iraq before we even arrived on the scene and then, of course, led the charge for Iraq until we killed him last June," Cheney told radio host Rush Limbaugh during an interview Thursday. "As I say, they were present before we invaded Iraq." However, a declassified Pentagon report released Thursday said that interrogations of Saddam and two of his former aides as well as seized Iraqi documents confirmed that the terrorist organization and the Saddam government were not working together before the invasion.

Interrogations of Saddam Hussein and seized documents have confirmed the former Iraqi regime had no links with Al Qaeda, according to a Pentagon report, contradicting the US case for the 2003 invasion. A two-page resume of the report was published in February, but on Friday (local time) the Pentagon declassified the whole 120-page document. According to the inspector general of the US Defense Department, information obtained after Saddam's fall confirmed the pre-war position of the Central Intelligence Agency and Pentagon intelligence that the Iraqi Government had had no substantial contacts with Al Qaeda. This position was shored up by interrogations of Saddam, the former Iraqi president and other top officials captured by the US-led coalition forces in Iraq, the report said. It contradicts a strong argument for the invasion made by the administration of President George W Bush that Baghdad had a working relationship with Al Qaeda. The network, based in Afghanistan and led by Osama bin Laden, was behind the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States in which almost 3,000 people were killed. The report noted that the office of then-undersecretary of defence Douglas Feith, one of the foremost advocates for invading Iraq after the 2001 attacks, had ignored the CIA's position. He characterised the supposed Al Qaeda-Iraq relationship as "mature" and "symbiotic" in a September 2002 briefing to the chief of staff of Vice-President Dick Cheney. The Feith briefing alleged that the two cooperated in 10 areas, including training, financing and logistics. But the new report says the US intelligence community had concluded at the time there were "no conclusive signs" of links between Iraq and Al Qaeda, and that "direct cooperation ... has not been established" between the two. Prior to the war there was little public dispute inside the United States over the Bush Administration's assertions linking Iraq and bin Laden's group. But since the invasion, a number of intelligence officials have alleged the White House and its backers ignored their intelligence and "cherry picked" information to support their arguments for a war. In a radio interview Wednesday (local time) Mr Cheney insisted on a pre-war link between Iraq and Al Qaeda, saying the group was working in Iraq "before we even arrived on the scene". "As I say, they were present before we invaded Iraq," Mr Cheney said.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The U.S. military's first and only study looking into ties between Saddam Hussein's Iraq and al Qaeda showed no connection between the two, according to a military report released by the Pentagon. The report released by the Joint Forces Command five years after the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq said it found no "smoking gun" after reviewing about 600,000 Iraqi documents captured in the invasion and looking at interviews of key Iraqi leadership held by the United States, Pentagon officials said. The assessment of the al Qaeda connection and the insistence that Hussein had weapons of mass destruction were two primary elements in the Bush administration's arguments in favor of going to war with Iraq. The Pentagon's report also contradicts then-Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, who said in September 2002 that the CIA provided "bulletproof" evidence demonstrating "that there are, in fact, al Qaeda in Iraq." Although other groups, like the September 11 commission, have concluded that there was no link between Hussein and al Qaeda, the Pentagon was able to analyze much more information. The documents cited in the report do reveal that Hussein supported a number of terrorists and terrorist activities inside and outside Iraq. "The Iraqi regime was involved in regional and international terrorist operations prior to Operation Iraqi Freedom. The predominant targets of Iraqi state terror operations were Iraqi citizens, both inside and outside of Iraq," according to the report. Most of the terrorism was aimed at keeping Hussein and his Baath party in power, according to Pentagon officials. "State sponsorship of terrorism became such a routine tool of state power that Iraq developed elaborate bureaucratic processes to monitor progress and accountability in the recruiting, training and resourcing of terrorists," according to the report. The report cited such examples as training for car bombs and suicide bombings in 1999 and 2000, both of which U.S. and Iraqi forces have struggled to contain since the rise of the insurgency in summer 2003.

JCPA is an Israeli advocacy center, in as such, it is undoubtedly and proudly, pro-Israel. <p> That does not mean that their policy papers are filled with self serving inaccuracies, but it does mean that what they say must be filtered through the knowledge of their undoubted bias. <p> ABC has been criticized harshly by the so-called liberal media for it's treatment of Obama, both leading up to and including the debate. <p> They were the ones who really flogged the Wright story, and they were the ones who in the debate, steered it clear or policy questions but hammered Obama on Rev. Wright, the weather underground, and other matters that pertained little to a Presidential race.<p> They were rightly villified for such churlish behavior. All the moreso because Stephanopoulous(sp) is a former Clinton operative.<p> Fox news came to the defense of ABC. <p> So, be careful who you are calling liberal.

Twist whatever fucking cherry picked "facts" into whatever fucking twisted-ass straw man fallacy that you want, you guys were fucking wrong in every possible way and now the entire nation is paying the price. Which leads to the other statement... NOTHING YOU SAY CAN BE TRUSTED TO BE EVEN REMOTELY TRUE. Seriously, you burned off the entirety of your fucking vestigial, non-working credibility when you championed a retard's invasion of a powder keg of a country. Your guy was in power and was "the decider" and now we all have to live with the fallout from those stupid fucking decisions. And now you want to pretend, YET AGAIN, that it's all someone else's fault? FUCK YOU. The only thing I want to say to you, I'd have to borrow that other guy's bloody hammer to properly express myself. We're beyond debate here, it's fucking Whack-A-Con time. I tend to think the comments regarding the relation of this film to Nixon are accurate in a way that both will be little less than works of fiction with historical plot points along the way. It also would be worht mentioning that if there's any coherent narrative at all, it'll be a sheer miracle as Nixon was an unqualified mess and a fair shake in only some fevered leftist imaginations. I also believe that Scott Glen is an inspired choice for Don Rumsfeld. But I fear given the script preview I've read, the performance will be wasted parodying the man rather than portraying him.

I'd be down for a constructive, intelligent conversation about what's going on in this country... hell, I'd love for that to happen here, and on the rare occasions when people ARE having a civil, rational conversation, I button my lip and stow the vitriol and listen (or read, whichever is applicable) But the ridiculous posturing that is happening here that is being passed off as "debate," it's not worth it. It's not worth trying to debate someone like viktor or Brane because they are simply incapable of it. But they do provide an easy target, and I know from the bullshit being put forth in this forum that they deserve the scorn and mockery. The "favorite film list" tangent is probably the most interesting thing going on here, but the rest of this talkback is just partisan noise regurgitated by spoon-fed shut-ins. So, yeah, as I said, fuck them, there is no reason to bother trying to argue anything with such people, I'll save my nuanced reasoning and sincere political discussion for people with functioning brains.

    by Gwai Lo

Disagree. Ignoring the fact that a good 90% of the films on my Best list still make my Favorite list, and my top 10 for each would be pretty identical, I still think a distinction can be made. Citizen Kane remains the best example of the Best vs Favorite argument for me, a lot of Hitchcock's movies fall into this category too. Citizen Kane is certainly one of the best films ever made, the impact it has had on narrative structure alone is practically unparalleled. I could probably write a 3000 word essay on every individual scene in the film. But does it strike a deep chord with me on an intellectual and emotional level, have I seen it over twenty times, would I take it to a desert island with me? No. That doesn't mean I don't care for it, it just doesn't register as a favorite. Just like if I was on my way to a desert island and someone asked me "hey, you can have one of my CDs here, Blue Oyster Cult's greatest hits or Beethoven's 9th symphony" I'm probably going to take the BOC so I can listen to Don't Fear the Reaper and Burnin' For You and reminisce about the 70s high school experience I never had, rather than some of the greatest music ever composed that just isn't gonna do as much for me. I can still acknowledge that Beethoven is a far more advanced artist than Blue Oyster Cult, but that doesn't mean he's my favorite. So yeah, to conclude this ramble, I don't see anything wrong with declarings bests and favorites. Sometimes I'd rather have a cheeseburger from Wendy's than a perfectly prepared lobster risotto, it doesn't mean Wendy's is the better restaurant. P.S. THe Last Boyscout? Really?

A good Rumsfeld? we know it's an unknown, unknown

    by G100

Getting to the point of the article, he's a solid actor and the mannerisms will sell it more than copius makeup will.<p> <p>As to the film... As we know, There are known knowns. There are things we know we know. We also know There are known unknowns. That is to say We know there are some things We do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns, The ones we don't know We don't know.<p> <p>Or to put it another way, like this talkbalk and all the others that have been on this film and will be on this film. Every one of them has proven whether the film is actually any good or not will be fairly irrelevant.<p> <p>What we do know. is that Loyal Bushies simply cannot stand to see their man or his term framed in anything other than FOX like soft focus polyannaism. They cannot resist trying to rewrite history or find excuses for the Pres with the highest Disapproval ratings of modern times.<p> <p>So come the time of the films release what will happen ? FOX and the Loyal Bushies will take to the airwaves slamming it as hard as they can oblivious to the fact that just raising the subject of Bush this November will be Political Poison to McCains Campaign. (assuming he still has some campaign staff left and they haven't all shilled for the Burmese junta.)<p> <p>Realistically there's little point in making a Biopic this close to the events unless you have something new to say or some original slant to the story that will frame it in a way no-one had thought of that brings new insight into the man.<p> <p>So a straight Bio-pic will be met with predictable grenade throwing from both sides. A great deal of noise but signifying nothing. However if Stone frames it as some kind of shakespearian tradgedy or uses the War, 9/11 and the dramatis personae of Rove, Cheney etc. to show Bush as a man forced by events and people into his role in history then that could be sort of interesting just from a film watchers point of view.<p> <p>One things for sure. Whoever has to play Harry Whittington has my sympathies.

Focusing on Bush Presidency will backfire on Dems

    by AntoniusBloc

Do you really think people will want to risk the possibility of living in fear of terrorism on our own homeland by electing a someone from a Democratic party, as illustrated by their actions in congress, whose only solution to fighting terrorism is to ignore it and just make sure all other world leaders like us and are our buddies, because if they like us, terrorists trying to take over the world by causing chaos will like us too, and never attack us. Something to note on the Iraq war as well, it was not just most democrats in congress who supported the war originally, but it was also approved by the UN, who delayed our attack giving the terrorists there time to prepare, and time for WMD's to be destroyed or hidden. So those who can omnipotently claim it wasn't a safe haven for terrorists, and no WMD's, give me a break. That delay caused by the corrupt leaders of UN countries who was helping Saddam steal from his own people and cashing in on their suffering. That delay cannot be underestimated in terms of its negative effect on our strategy, and why we continue to have security problems. The terrorists in Iraq had time to plan this chaos, and the weak willed democrats fall right into their trap, giving timelines for withdrawal and declaring the war a failure with every casualty, encouraging the terrorists to do more. The democrats have unwittingly(hopefully) aided the strategy of the terrorists, boosted their morale. Such talk of withdrawal with a specific date is irresponsible during a war when our own troops are on the ground. And who is the main culprit of all this talk? Hussein Obama

    by G100

Do you also think there are fairies at the bottom of the garden ?<p> <p>BTW the War wasn't delayed. So using that as excuse #24(b) just won't fly. The troops were in position in their Bases in the surrounding regions as quickly as logistically posiible once Bush had set the date. Even the minor hiccup of Turkish intransigance over flyover and staging was fairly quickly overcome. It was not critical to the invasion plan anyway.<p> <p>The "Diplomacy" i.e. aborted second resolution at the U.N was given only the time Bush had allocated for it after Blair cinvinced him they had nothing to lose as the date was set anyway, and afterwards he ignored the U.N. completely. So sorry, you can't blame them either.<p> <p>I'm curious though, exactly what colour will the colour coded alert system use for "the Economy is fucked." ?<p> <p>Childishly obvious scare tactics clearly won't be enough this time. They didn't work when they were Full On in the MidTerms and they certainly won't work now that people are looking at their mortgages and paychecks so closely.<p> <p>Besides You can only cry wolf so many times before even the kiddies figure it out.<p> <p>Keep living in the dreamworld that thinks Bush and the War are anything other than liabilities though, because like I said those who don't have Rove tinted Glasses will be merciless in their judgement at the ballotbox.

I think most conservatives are just baffled by liberals endlessly bashing their heads against the wall by making film after film — ad infinitum — slamming Bush and his policies when the movies don't make money or have any effect on either government policies or getting Democrats elected.<p>All Hollywood's really doing is wasting their millions, giving millions of slavishly-devoted Dems false hope that people other than themselves even care and continually proving themselves to be more and more irrelevant.<p>Which, in the end, is what makes their pointless flailing so much fun to watch. :)<p>I mean, they seem to not even realize that Bush isn't even RUNNING in the fall and the guy who IS the Republican nominee is known as "The Maverick" simply BECAUSE he's so unlike Bush and traditional Republicans.

Perhaps I missed it in other previous articles, but even if Stone did pull out all the stops to make this a 3hour type "epic" that's still 3hours of "propaganda" compared to the 24hours of propaganda that FOX pumps out and even FOX can't spin their way out of a tanking economy.<p> <p>Besides the film (even if it is mediocre or worse) won't annoy people as much as being told how wonderfull Bush and Iraq is, by loyal Bushies ignoring all polling evidence from the public to the contrary.<p> <p>Have to agree with the Prof. though the timing is artistically at least a big risk. Working to a deadline can either galvanise and focus a film or leave it feeling rushed and incomplete. Subject matter aside though I would have thought Stone had at least one very good film left in him but it would be a huge surprise if this is it.

The thing about Bush is, a lot of the wingnuts have bought into the Bush persona without really questioning the background and history of the man who has signed off on some of the worst and most destructive policies in modern American history. There's a big picture to be painted and I hope Stone is up to the task. <p> I've said before that Rove must figure greatly in this biopic, because Bush would've spent the last 8 years clearing brush and chasing possums in Crawford if not for The Brain. <p> If there is a Casting God, Paul Giamatti will play Karl Rove, and that's how I'm calling it.

Because that sounds like a heartrending Doomed Romance Movie you could personally screenwrite going by the angst you demonstrated in that revealing post.<p> <p>Nice try though if you keep saying black is white long enough you may just convince yourself that it is so, but sadly for you people have their own eyes to see and compare how the Dems and the Reps. treat Women and minorities so I'm afraid reality may prove a bit much for your admittedly crude spinning skills.<p> <p>BTW Point me to where every one of these "Leftist" Networks came out against the Iraq Invasion before it began ? For the life of me it almost seems like every single one of them were cheerleading it and fell for the Propaganda and WMD lies.

America is the greatest country ever because of all the things that you aren't. You're a parody of a parody. America is great because of the ideals held by the Democratic Party: freedom of speech, seperation of church and state, equal rights for everyone, an equal shot at success for all...etc. Republicans? Don't take away my assault-rifle, ban gay marriage, shoot Mexicans as they cross the border, and give tax cuts to the rich. Awesome, right? Sleep it off Animalstructure...I mean Brane. "If you're liberal 1940s counterparts had their way, we would have "appeased" Hitler instead of kicking his ass." FDR wanted to join in WW2 at the time Europe fell to the Nazis. It was the Republicans who resisted as long as 1941 because they thought America could get along with Hitler. Why don't you read up about the current President's grandfather, Prescott Bush? He was even investigated by the FBI for his alleged involvement in a plot to assassinate FDR, launch a military coup and install a fascist dictator in the White House. One of his companies even disseminated Nazi propaganda during the 1930s. I wonder if George W is proud of Gramps...

First question, could they not get the guy from The Queen to play Tony Blair again? Was he afraid of being type casted? And Thandie seems a bit young to play Condi, even though they are about par in atractivness, kind of surprised they didn't try to get Pam Grier. Its too bad Paul Winfield died, otherwise he would have had to been Powell. <P> I really don't know what this movie is going to attempt that Lil'Bush and Thats My Bush haven't already done. See: NAZI Germany.<p> On the extreme left we get Communism and stagnation. Others may disagree with your assessment, but lets take it on face value. However, you undermine your argument by constantly using the most inflammatory (and far right wing) descriptions of people and circumstances. <p> You persist in villifying any whose position is to the left of your own. <p> You are not showing conservative values -but are simply attacking anyone who does not share your own views. <p> I do know that there are some left wing extremists on here, and they can be highly annoying as well, but the difference bewteen them and you is that your underlying message is one of divisivness and hate.

    by toadkillerdog

Last time we chatted, you were giving me your justification for invading Iraq. The neocon geopolitical - 'lets remake the middle east' justification.<p> Ignoring the fact that declaring war on a country to serve a theoretical neocon wet dream will cost thousands of American lives, tens of thousands of American mutilated, and over a hundred thousand dead, innocent Iraqi's - yes innocent because when not in uniform they are non combatants. <p> And for what purpose? To create more terrorists? Yes, job well done.<p> I am sure you and your neocon friends are doing high fives now on the success of the mission. <p> Oh yes, I forgot that other chestnut of justification 'we are freeing the Iraqi people'<p> Nevermind that they did not ask for it. Nevermind that the women there are treated far worse now than under saddam. Nevermind that when we do eventually leave, the country may sink into civil war. Nevermind that we are directly or indirectly repsonsible for over 100,000 Iraqi deaths. Nevermind that terrorists over run the country. Nevermind that American interests in 'freeing' them had little to do with freedom. Nevermind that ther eare far more repressive regimes in the world that hold their people hostage - Myanmmar anyone? Nevermind all of that. America has given you your freedom. Ok, you can throw the parade now.

And most reputable organizations will leave a trail that allows for investigation of their biases - and it is fairly easy to find out those biases.

BraneRobot - genocide is not only dependant on the number

    by toadkillerdog

But on the intent. Let me give you an example. <p>Easter Island, also known as Rapa Nui, desdended into tribal genocide. The tribes numbered only in the few thousands, but the outcome remained the same - total destruction. <p> If my tribe consists of 5 people and yours of ten, and you intend to wipe me out. That is genocide. <p>So please stop using the number of deaths in the civil war to defend the indefensible policy of the Serbs in the Balkans.<p> If the United States and allies had not stopped the intended genocide in the Balkans, you can be sure the number of dead would have been even higher.

Genocide is of a populace. i.e. The unique peoples of the Balkans were being wiped out. Systematically. <p> This is my very point about extremists which you claim you are not. <p> when confronted with an unassailable point, such as the genocide of a specific populace, what do you do? You argue it is not genocide because there are more muslims around the world. <p> That is truly pathetic. <p> So, in your reasoning if all of the Balkan muslims where wiped out, that unique group of people, totally removed from the earth, it would not constitute genocide simply because they shared a religion with another race of people half a world away - such as the Indonesian muslims? <p> That is they type of hatred, the type of self serving, twisted logic that is characteristic of extremists.

It can also eliminate a national group, meaning one that is from a common country of nationality. In this case, Bosnian Muslims.

See, for every decent, rational and compassionate human being the default switch is set to "Genocide And Ethnic Cleansing Of Any Group Is A Heinous Crime". The reason nobody has debated the extermination of Christians and Jews is that only the extermination of ethnic Albanian Muslims in the Balkans was brought up. Not only that, it's being discussed because YOU have decided to make an exception to the mentioned rule that every decent human being lives by. Dismissing the truth - because it is inconvenient or impossible for you to answer, is not acceptable.<p> I purposely pointed out Armitage's support of the 'war on terror'. <p> A very simple google search of Armitage reveals a wealth of information and his support for the 'war on terror'. How is that not part of the 'official story'? <p> And the pathetic way of dismissing Wilson acknowleging his wife was truly absurd. <p> Her name was not classified - her job was. <p> If it was not a big deal, Scooter would not have gone to jail. From raw story

    by Colonel Activity

The unmasking of covert CIA officer Valerie Plame Wilson by White House officials in 2003 caused significant damage to U.S. national security and its ability to counter nuclear proliferation abroad, RAW STORY has learned. According to current and former intelligence officials, Plame Wilson, who worked on the clandestine side of the CIA in the Directorate of Operations as a non-official cover (NOC) officer, was part of an operation tracking distribution and acquisition of weapons of mass destruction technology to and from Iran. Speaking under strict confidentiality, intelligence officials revealed heretofore unreported elements of Plame's work. Their accounts suggest that Plame's outing was more serious than has previously been reported and carries grave implications for U.S. national security. While many have speculated that Plame was involved in monitoring the nuclear proliferation black market, specifically the proliferation activities of Pakistan's nuclear "father," A.Q. Khan, intelligence sources say that her team provided only minimal support in that area, focusing almost entirely on Iran. Plame declined to comment through her husband, Joseph Wilson. Valerie Plame first became a household name when her identity was disclosed by conservative columnist Robert Novak on July 14, 2003. The column came only a week after her husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson, had written an op-ed for the New York Times asserting that White House officials twisted pre-war intelligence on Iraq. Her outing was seen as political retaliation for Wilson's criticism of the Administration's claim that Iraq sought uranium from Niger for a nuclear weapons program. Her case has drawn international attention and resulted in the indictment of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff, on five counts of perjury, obstruction of justice, and making false statements. Special Prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald, who is leading the probe, is still pursuing Deputy Chief of Staff and Special Advisor to President Bush, Karl Rove. His investigation remains open. Intelligence sources would not identify the specifics of Plame's work. They did, however, tell RAW STORY that her outing resulted in "severe" damage to her team and significantly hampered the CIA's ability to monitor nuclear proliferation. Plame's team, they added, would have come in contact with A.Q. Khan's network in the course of her work on Iran. While Director of Central Intelligence Porter Goss has not submitted a formal damage assessment to Congressional oversight committees, the CIA's Directorate of Operations did conduct a serious and aggressive investigation, sources say. Intelligence sources familiar with the damage assessment say that what is called a "counter intelligence assessment to agency operations" was conducted on the orders of the CIA's then-Deputy Director of the Directorate of Operations, James Pavitt. Former CIA counterintelligence officer Larry Johnson believes that such an assessment would have had to be done for the CIA to have referred the case to the Justice Department. "An exposure like that required an immediate operational and counter intelligence damage assessment," Johnson said. "That was done. The results were written up but not in a form for submission to anyone outside of CIA." One former counterintelligence official described the CIA's reasons for not seeking Congressional assistance on the matter as follows: "[The CIA Leadership] made a conscious decision not to do a formal inquiry because they knew it might become public," the source said. "They referred it [to the Justice Department] instead because they believed a criminal investigation was needed." The source described the findings of the assessment as showing "significant damage to operational equities." Another counterintelligence official, also wishing to remain anonymous due to the nature of the subject matter, described "operational equities" as including both people and agency operations that involve the "cover mechanism," "front companies," and other CIA officers and assets. Three intelligence officers confirmed that other CIA non-official cover officers were compromised, but did not indicate the number of people operating under non-official cover that were affected or the way in which these individuals were impaired. None of the sources would say whether there were American or foreign casualties as a result of the leak. Several intelligence officials described the damage in terms of how long it would take for the agency to recover. According to their own assessment, the CIA would be impaired for up to "ten years" in its capacity to adequately monitor nuclear proliferation on the level of efficiency and accuracy it had prior to the White House leak of Plame Wilson's identity.

    by BringingSexyBack

There was some disagreement among those intimately involved in the case as to the proper term to use - "covert" or "undercover". It's a critical point of contention because her "covert" status has an impact on whether those involved in the leak - and yes, there was a leak - could be tried under various laws governing the leaking of classified information and revealing identities of covert operatives. <p> Now, Henry Waxman read a letter written by the CIA Director that said: <p> "During her employment at the CIA, Ms. Wilson was undercover. Her employment status with the CIA was classified information, prohibited from disclosure under Executive Order 12958. At the time of the publication of Robert Novak's column on July 14, 2003, Ms. Wilson's CIA employment status was covert. This was classified information. Ms. Wilson served in senior management positions at the CIA in which she oversaw the work for other CIA employees and she attained the level of GS-14 — Step Six under the federal pay scale. Ms. Wilson worked on some of the most sensitive and highly secretive matters handled by the CIA. Ms. Wilson served at various times overseas for the CIA." <p> After the reading, there was some debate as to what the intended meaning was - covert or undercover. As you can imagine, the implications of deciding which is which loomed heavily over the Bush Administration at the time. Ergo, politics were involved. <p> So okay, Morbid. Let's step away from the politics of it all. Plame was either covert, or undercover. Both terms for all practical reasons, mean the same thing. Her work is secret. Was her work and status as a covert/undercover operative compromised by the leak? Yes. <p> Did the leak occur out of some retribution against her husband? Yes. If you don't believe so then tell me Why else would it occur? <p> You're entitled to your biased opinion in trying to discredit the Plame case, but the facts don't support that opinion.

    by BringingSexyBack

and as is your tact, you omit the part that validates my point: that Hayden DID confirm that Plame was undercover. <p> I'm sure you're referring to Robert Novak's own reporting of his conversations with Hayden and other CIA personnel on the matter. That being the case, read and weep: <p> "Hayden indicated to me he had not authorized Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman to say Plame had been a "covert" CIA employee, as he claimed Hayden did, but only that she was "undercover" ... I obtained Waxman's talking points for the hearing. The draft typed after the Hayden-Waxman conversation said, "Ms. Wilson had a career as an undercover agent of the CIA." This was crossed out, the hand-printed change saying she 'was a covert employee of the CIA' ... Hayden told me that the talking points were edited by a CIA lawyer after conferring with Waxman's staff. "I am completely comfortable with that," the general assured me. He added he now sees no difference between "covert" and "undercover" ... Mark Mansfield, Hayden's public affairs officer, next e-mailed me: "At CIA, you are either a covert or an overt employee. Ms. Wilson was a covert employee" ... On March 21, Hoekstra again requested that the CIA define Plame's status. A written reply April 5 from Christopher J. Walker, the CIA's director of congressional affairs, said only that 'it is taking longer than expected' to reply because of "the considerable legal complexity required for this tasking." <p> Let me extract one important sentence out that for your benefit: "Hayden's public affairs officer, next e-mailed me: "At CIA, you are either a covert or an overt employee. Ms. Wilson was a covert employee". <p> So let me ask you - how exactly am I "pretending to know things that I simply don't"?

I'd appreciate a good argument as to why you think the CIA's own definition of "covert" is a "joke" but we know you don't have one. <p> So let's get this straight. <p> On the one hand, you try to discredit Plame by saying the CIA Director himself did not authorize the use of the term "covert" (although he did not actually disagree with it), but when he and other CIA personnel reversed stance and confirmed her to indeed be covert, and undercover, you say the definition is a joke. <p> Even Brane has put up better arguments than that.

If you are supposing I didn't read through the entire TB, you are correct. Nor do I really intend to. However I did browse through many of the posts in the first half (none of which I saw covering the topic of ethnic cleansing), and I found some valid points in those conversations (such as the discussion regarding the Florida vote count). As I scrolled through, I saw the continued back-and-forth and it just appeared to me that there was one versus many (thinking 300 here). I didn't indicate that I read all he wrote nor that I agreed with all I read, only that I gave kudos to him for waging an uphill battle, which in my own personal opinion seems to usually be the case for anyone not completely bashing Bush and his administration or conservatism in general. So, to be more succinct, I'm not prepared to condone things I haven't read; but tenacity in general is a trait I regard. Sorry if I gave the impression that I was a comrade-in-arms with him.

Having no frame of reference from previous TB's, I was under a different impression based on the posts of his I did read. I noticed he denounced Rummy's policies as neo-con, but his defense of Bush's win over Gore in 2000 (among other things including denouncing Obama) had me believing he was defending a true conservative viewpoint. If that's not the case, I can only fall back on "my bad". To be fair, though, many of the responses aren't exactly of a caliber I would categorize under either "fair" or "reasonable". Let them rot for all I care. I only care about Americans. All those shitbag Arabs can blow each other up for all I care, and I include Israel in that. Cut off all foreign aid to Israel and the Middle East and let the fun begin. The Jews will wipe out all those shit heels and our problems will be over very quickly. Islam is a scourge that must be purged."<p>I would call your last two sentences a vote of "yes" for genocide. <p>And how about this nice little 'jab' at a talkbacker....<p>"Colonel Activity is proof of what happens when you take too many drugs and then decide to have a kid. CA was probably born addicted to crack or something. It's the only way to explain his willful ignorance and myopia when it comes to geopolitical events. CA, you're the worst kind of Liberal, a self righteous, close minded, intolerant, racist sexist little leaky douchebag. Oh how I wish your drunk father had punched your slut cunt mother in the stomach real hard when she was pregnant with you. Might have saved the world from your poisonous bile. Who here is in favor of a retroactive abortion for CA?"<p>"He calls what happened in the Balkans genocide, but not what happened in the Civil War, even though more people were killed in the American Civil War, by a large margin. " This statement makes absolutely no sense, oh intelligent one. You immediately equate some number in your head of deaths, and that must be what genocide is. And where did any of us say we thought Saddam should still be allowed to gas Kurds? Did I defend any of that? No, of course not, you are just grasping at straws with that statement. And I did mention what the Croatians did to the Serbs in one of my posts, and when they did retaliate, they targeted civilians. That is no less sickening. <p>You can continue to throw your labels around all you want to people who disagree with your madness, but that doesn't make you any less wrong in that regard.

    by Mr. Nice Gaius

Back for more spankage I see. So, what's on your agenda for today? Advocating more genocide? The elimination of an entire religion and its followers? Promoting mass abortion? Making up political philosophies and running circular arguments all in the favor of your supposed lower-case "c" conservatism?<P>Perhaps you can provide us with some refreshments as we get set to watch the show.

is that I have answered your questions. Yet you ignore mine. Instead of furnishing me with a lengthy rant, why don't you try and actually address any of the points I've put to you? <P>One of your more obvious failings is to make sweeping generalisations of your opposition- you cannot address each one individually, rather you lump them all into one group that you can dismiss as "leftists". This is not debating. I'm not sure what it is and am loath to turn soap-box into a verb. Polemicising?

For someone who purports to have such high intelligence, you have some glaring weak spots in your intellectual fabric. <p> One of those weak spots is your lack of flexibility. <p> You take a position, and will fight to the death to defend it - regardless of the merits of that position. <p> You are not alone in your intransigence on these boards, several ultra liberal posters do the same. But, instead of showing intellectual tenacity, all is exposes is a lack intellectual honesty and immaturity. <p> I will give you an example of your own lack of flexibility. The genocide argument.<p> Leaving aside how some might interpret your positions as actually advocating genocide - See your postion regarding Islam, that you contend is a scourge that should be wiped out. Some posit: How can you wipe out a religion but not it's followers? <p> But I digress, what I really want to point out is your position on what actually constitutes genocide, and how that shows your are intellectually intransigent. <p> You have stated that the Bosnian muslims, that were being sytematically wiped out by the Serbs, did not consistiute a genocide, because they were followers of Islam, and that there were more followers of Islam around the world, so it could not be genocide. <p> You further tried to equate the number of deaths of the Bosnian muslims with the number from the American Civil war, and said because the Bosnian number was significantly less, it could not be genocide. <p> You then rhetorically asked why is Bosnia considered a genocide, but the American civil war deaths not? <p> I and others pointed out that the number of deaths does constitute a level of genocide, but intent does. i.e. if a tribe of ten was wiped out by a tribe of 20, that would constitute genocide. Any entire unique group of peoples were killed. <p> That is what the Bosnian muslims represented. An entire unique group of people. The fact that they are Islamic, is irrelavant.<p> If the Bosnian muslims are wiped out, the fact that a group of Indonesian muslims half a world away, still exist, will in no way mitigate the total elimination of a unique people. <p> That is called genocide. <p> That definition is what you refuse to accept. <p> I think that I and others have presented a very sound and reasoned case for what constitutes genocide. But you refuse to accept that because of your intellectual inflexibility and desire to fight out your position to the death, regardless of how pointless it is. <p> And that BraneRobot, not your so-called brand of conservatism, but your inflexibility, is why I and some others oppose you.

You once again have proven my point with your circular, self serving logic. <p> But I will answer your question in hopes (though very low) that you may answer mine. <p> No, wiping out all of the NYC Muslims would not constitute genocide, and you know that. Which proves my very point about your intransigence. <p> You possess the mental capacity to understand that wiping out a neighborhood, does not constitute genocide, but you refuse to accept that wiping out a unique race or ethnic group is not the same thing.<p> The Bosnians are a unique ethnic group, and to wipe them out is genocide.<p> Now, will you accpet that logical definition of genocide, or attempt more circular obfuscation? <p> BTW I am not a liberal - but I have nothing against them or conservatives. I hate hypocrites though.

First, thank you for conceding the point on genocide. <p> It shows that you can be swayed by a valid argument. <p> Second, I have never advocated intervention for intervention sake. There needs to be compelling national, or humanitarian reasons for doing so. You are once again making sweeping generalizations. <p> I did, and still do beleive that America was right in stopping the Bosnian genocide, and I do wish that we - in conjunction with the U.N. would have interceded in Darfur as well. <p> But we are not, and can not be the police of the world, and I do understand political exigencies. <p> But what I will always be against is hypocritical standards that allow one group of people to be elevated over another.<p> I am former military, I understand American power and how we can and can not project it. I was deployed in support of some projections of that power. I would never risk American lives for the sake of a political theory or political gain.

Even the Serbs have moved on and rejected their far right nutballs in favour of a pro-E.U. Bush

    by Bad LT

Bush has a disapproval rating of 71% - the highest in US history. Ha ha ha. I love it. :) Three House seats in heavy Republican areas - Louisiana, Illinois, Mississippi - have just gone to Democrats. Even the Republicans are saying that whatever happens on the Presidential side, they may lose 30 to 70 House seats and 4 to 6 Senate seats. And the latest polls show Obama beating McCain 51% to 44%. The alliance that elected Bush and shaped his policies - the Neocons, the Christian Right and the military/industrial/oil/finance complex - have driven this country into the ditch. The policies leading to the fiasco in Iraq, $4.00 a gallon gas, the housing meltdown, the economic crisis, etc., seem to have discredited the Republicans now and into the future. I look forward to the movie.

    Third Party

    by Bad LT

Oh, and by the way, my happiness at the demise of the Republicans - and Hillary Clinton - is not so much that I think that Obama and the Dems will be much better (though they will be better). It is that this may create space for a real third party or independent bid in 2012. I voted for Perot in 92 and 96, Libertarian in 2000, Kerry in 2004 as an anti-Bush vote, supported Ron Paul in the primaries, and with a choice of Obama vs. McCain in 2012, will vote Obama if my state is close and Libertarian if it is not. I hope that Jesse Ventura runs in 2012, and I think he has the potential to bring together many of the libertarians who supported Paul and are being shut out of the Neocon statist Republican Party, the anti-war left, and the pissed off center who distrusts both parties and sees little real difference between them. This Ventura/libertarian/anti-Neocon grouping would want to end the Iraq War and the notion of America as world policeman running an empire, curb the war on drugs and support individual freedom, end the attacks on the Constitution/warrantless wiretaps/torture and restore habeas corpus, reduce the size of government and eliminate the IRS and the personal income tax (which could be done just by reducing the federal budget to year 2000 levels), and end or radically modify American participation in NAFTA/WTO the joing Rep/Dem created schemes that have led to the deindustrialization of America and the loss of millions of jobs to Mexico and China. But until then, Obama and the Dems will do better than the hell the Neocons have wrought.

I'll keep askinf if he's a 9/11 Zeitgiest crazy too as he just wouldn't deny that either.<p> <p>He could also have explained why he was such a barefaced liar too, as when he wrote "Obama can denounce and reject the support of Hamas, but he didn't" He clearly was hoping no-one would remember Obama has condemned Hamas, repeatedly said that he would not meet with the terrorist organization, and also condemned former President Carter's decision to meet with Hamas leaders. That makes you a LIAR and a hypocrite Brane. Still dodging the question about why Ron Paul didn't give his Cheque from the K.K.K. back. The Klan ? Slobbo ? Brane don't care.<p> <p>Lastly did anyone notice that time and again he called just about everyone who disagreed with him a 12 year old boy at some point ? Now that's ALMOST as creepy an insight into his thought processes as idolising a War Criminal scumbag.
