Psychics, Scientists and G-Men Coming To New CBS Dramas!!
I am – Hercules!!
CBS doesn’t announce its fall schedule till Wednesday afternoon, but it has already greenlit six projects to series for 2008-2009:
HOURLONGS:
“The Eleventh Hour” is about a scientist and a government agent who investigate unexplained phenomena. It is not to be confused with Fox’s just-greenlit “Fringe,” about a scientist and a government agent who investigate unexplained phenomena. Here’s how to tell them apart: “Eleventh” is from “Armageddon” producer Jerry Bruckheimer; “Fringe” is from “Armageddon” co-writer J.J. Abrams.
“The Mentalist” is about a psychic (Simon Baker) who solves crime. It’s not to be confused with “Medium” or “The Dead Zone.” It's from writer-producer Bruno Heller ("Rome").
“The Ex-List” is about a woman who learns from a psychic (presumably not The Mentalist) that she has already met her true love, and must retrace her romantic footprints. It's from writer-producer Diane Ruggiero ("Veronica Mars").
“Harper’s Island” is a thriller about a group of friends who reunite for a wedding. It's from writer-producer Ari Schlossberg ("Hide and Seek," "Lucky 13").
SITCOMS:
“Project Gary” is about a divorced fellow trying to balance family and romance. It stars Jay Mohr and Paula Marshall. It's from writer-producer Ed Yeager ("Still Standing").
“Worst Week” is about a couple dealing with in-laws. It's from writer-producer Matt Tarses ("Scrubs").

Yeah I can't bloody wait...
-
The sooner they kill the genre, the sooner we'll get back to some other equally non-interesting genre. Maybe next season it'll all be shows about private investigators, or bartenders. If only somebody would update My Three Sons...
-
Apparently CBS is running out of ideas for original shows
-
i predict that not one of these new shows makes it past month 1
-
Curses. Foiled again.
-
nothing here that reeks of orginality

Although Eleventh Hour is a remake of the British mini-series of the same name, and that was pretty good.
The rest are boring. -
So will she be available for the Cupid remake? I mean, when that show is canceled?
-
How many shows have those two been on that didn't make it out of the first season? Cupid, Action, Fastlane, Snoops, Out of Practice, Cursed. If they add Ted McGinley to the cast, the show will get cancelled a week before it airs.
-
and I raise you another failed series starring another former 90's star!

If not, somebody should make one quick! It'll serve as an excellent way to get the kids of today to become the CSI viewers of tomorrow.
-
I thought they would try to add at least one new nerd sitcome like big bang or chuck.
-
Remake! British sit-com called Worst Week of My Life, bloody good stuff too, and nothing like Raymond btw.
-
If that show is imported by a British broadcaster, it will have to have a name change as it has a different connotation over here. Also, The Worst Week of My Life is indeed brilliant. But an American version will be hamstrung by not having the 7 days = 7 episodes format.

how do a group of friends reuniting for a wedding
by smoke monster loves kate
make for a 'thriller' ?
-
You haven't been to the 'right' weddings then...
-
is preparing to dump a big ol' pile of shit on America.
-
I don't remember his early shows being hyped as "FROM THE WIRTERS OF ARMAGGEDON OMG!!" (wich is good because I never would have seen Alias then)
-
Dopey networks. You can't just throw a big concept like psychic into your schedule and find money. And none of the currently running psychic shows are any good...except maybe Psych.
-
except that he can really do it.The Ex-List is how I met your mother except she already met her future husband and has to figure out who he is.

At least I was right about that 90's star return to TV...

Emmy winner Megan Mullally is headed back to TV comedy, joining Alicia Silverstone in ABC's pilot Bad Mother's Handbook.
The former Will & Grace star will play Silverstone's overbearing mom in the pilot, the showbiz trade papers say.
Bad Mother's Handbook centers on Silverstone's character, a woman in her early 30s who has no life of her own because she's too busy looking after her teenage daughter (Alia Shawkat) and mother.

Spaced and Suburban Shootout are being remade? WTF?! That's why this nation is 47th in education worldwide.
