Fox Is Taking Its J.J. Abrams, Mitch Hurwitz and Jason Bateman Projects To Series!!
I am – Hercules!!
Fox doesn’t announce its fall slate until Thursday, but producers of “Fringe,” “Sit Down, Shut Up” and “The Inn” have apparently already learned the netlet is taking their pilots to series.
“Fringe,” from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot (“Alias,” “Lost”), is about a hot FBI girl who teams with a troubled scientist to investigate a growing wave of paranormal activity.
“Sit Down, Shut Up,” from Mitch Hurwitz (“Arrested Development”), is an animated sitcom about a dysfunctional high school faculty.
“The Inn,” whose pilot was directed by Jason Bateman, is about a fancy New York hotel’s staff. It was created by “Arrested Development” writer Abraham Higginbotham and stars Jerry O’Connell (“Carpoolers”).
There’s also word that Fox is ditching its Kelsey Grammar broadcast-news sitcom “Back To You.”

No great loss.

I'm glad talented people are getting their due.

Whats the over/under on any of these shows? 6-8 episodes I imagine. Glad Back To You is going off air though...then I can go back to remembering Kelsey Grammer fondly as Frasier Crane and not some hack sharing a laugh track with Pat Heaton.
May 11, 2008, 1:15 a.m. CST
and make the characater Veronica Mars
May 11, 2008, 1:15 a.m. CST
Jerry O'Connell. Goddamn do I hate Jerry O'Connell.
May 11, 2008, 1:16 a.m. CST
now, if fox will stick to building on these shows, i think they'll start making a line-up that can compete with the big three networks.

Mitch Hurwitz gets butt fucked again!!! Will he be the Andy Richter to Fox's NBC? Tune in to find out!
May 11, 2008, 3:19 a.m. CST
Abrams is laughing all the way to the bank, convincing the studio hotshots about his original concept of a paranormal duo investigators. He's stretching his credibility as a writer and becoming a hack in short order.
May 11, 2008, 3:31 a.m. CST
wasn't the first paranormal investigators show and it's damn sure not the last

How will Kelsey Grammar keep his Trophy Wife in the style she's become accostomed to? (Those boob-jobs and chemical peels aren't cheap you know!)
And how will right-wing wing-nut Patrica Heading be able to weigh in on issues that don't concern her without having a current project to sell to get on talk shows in the first place?
Oh, the humanity!
May 11, 2008, 7 a.m. CST
Let me guess...when a liberal nut like Alec Baldwin or Barbara Streisand weighs in on issues that don't concern them, it's OK then?

Doesn't Fox already have an X-Files clone called Bones?
May 11, 2008, 9:31 a.m. CST
She's a right-wing nut-job! She had the nerve to film an ad against stem-cell research of any kind.
May 11, 2008, 10:02 a.m. CST
It doesn't matter who the character is.
May 11, 2008, 11:33 a.m. CST
I have faith in Mitchell Hurwitz, however there is no doubt he's going to get fucked royally by those greedy bastards at Fox. I'm still hoping for an Arrested Development movie.

Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars:FBI would make me so very happy! :) Problem is, it'd be on F (3 epsiodes and gone) OX. Better than the CW? You be the judge!

They've hired the best guys working in television to make shows for them, Ronald D. Moore's "Virtuality", Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse", and now J.J. Abrams' "Fringe". I'm pretty pumped for all of them.

How else would we know that Rosie "Man-Bear-Pig" O'Donnell and her girlfriend really need to be supported in their right to adopt children and wear "truck driver" haircuts?

Because when a high profile right-winger is saved by the benefits of stem cells, they are going to do a total 180 and act like they championed research all along. Trust me, it's going to happen.

Accidentally hit "enter"...

Anyway, it's "Start thinking for yourself!!!" But how is it thinking for yourself, if you're being convinced by a celebrity.
Does not compute

You say that Fringe is about a hot FBI agent, it doesn't change the fact the actress who plays the role is average looking at best.
May 12, 2008, 1:48 a.m. CST
Arrested Development syndrome.
May 12, 2008, 2:22 a.m. CST
Fuck her nun sister too. And fuck any idiot jackass who thinks that O'Donnell's haircut is somehow in the same league of thought as stemcell research.
May 12, 2008, 6:01 a.m. CST
The correct past project to put beside Jerry O'Connell's name in parentheses is "Sliders". "Sliders".
