Chicago!! Capone Wants To Tell You About His AMERICAN TEEN Contest!!

Published at:  May 02, 2008 7:59:55 AM CDT

Hey everyone, Capone in Chicago here.

First off, let me thank all of you who made Monday's IRON MAN screening such a fantastic event.

I wasn't lying when I said before the film that this was going to be a busy summer in Chicago for AICN-related events. I've already got a couple of events booked for the coming weeks; a couple of promises from studios and distributors on upcoming releases later in the summer; and I know some of the talent that's coming to town in the next few months, and I'm going to do my best to put you guys in a room with these special guest so you can hurl your questions at them. Some of the films will be major releases, and some will be smaller offerings that I don't want to get lost in the Summer Movie shuffle.

Next up for you folks in the Chicago area is one of the most talked about films at this year's Sundance and SXSW film festivals, the documentary AMERICAN TEEN, screening on the evening of Sunday, May 11 (please note that the screening is, indeed, taking place on a SUNDAY night). After the film, we'll have a Q&A with the film's director, Nanette Burnstein, where you can talk to her about all of the anxiety you feel over the state of America's youth.

I'm seeing the film later in a couple of days, and all I know is that Quint couldn't stop gushing about one of the girls profiled in the film. I'm going into this one deliberately knowing as little as I can. Particularly with documentaries, I want to see how little advanced preparation I need to still enjoy the movie.

For a chance to score a pass (good for you and a guest), send an e-mail to atusamovie@hotmail.com with your name, age, and a 50-words-or-less answer to the following question: What is your biggest regret concerning your high school experience? Was it something you did? Something you didn't do? Someone you did or didn't do?

I'm not setting a deadline for this contest, but I've got about 100 seats to fill, so there should be enough to go around. If you win, you'll get a reply within a couple days of your entry. Hope to see you there.

Come on Capone, give a clue to what other movie it was that you mentioned in your review for Ironman.

    Thanks again for the tickets.

Give it up with this movie all ready

    by rbatty024

It looks like the antithesis of cool or good. I can turn on TV any day of the week and watch privileged white kids whine and bitch. I don't need to go to the theater.
