Want An AICN Exclusive Taste Of THE FOOT FIST WAY?! Meet Fred Simmons, King Of The Demo!

Published at:  May 01, 2008 4:53:23 AM CDT

Hey, everyone. “Moriarty” here.

I can’t believe this one’s about to hit theaters finally. I’ve been singing its praises for a while now, and I think after you see it, you’ll understand why. I’m not alone in loving it, of course. It seems like every professionally funny person I know loves this. I haven’t seen this kind of genuine word-of-mouth buzz about something in the comedy world since maybe the British OFFICE.

We’ve got a clip for you today from the film that’s an introduction to the character Danny McBride plays. He runs a small dojo in the South, and one of the ways he tries to drum up new business is with the “demo,” a routine he does with breaking boards that is supposed to impress.

Does it? Well, you be the judge, and just be glad you’re not Julio, who’s about to be in biiiiig trouble...

    don't care.

    by the way

, just discovered a site (through IMDB) called the A.V. Club that likes to slam all the summer movies before their release. They remind me of the Village Voice who said "Titanic will need every person & their dog to succeed." - makes you appreciate Harry's sugarcoated reviews all the more.

I'm scared of watching this clip.

    by derlanghaarige

I'm seriously scared that this is one of these lame Apatow-esque wannabe-comedies of these days and doesn't even make me smile.
Can you believe this? I'm 26 years old and I already feel way to old for most stuff that calls itself "comedy" or just "funny" these days. Why? I got no idea. If you would know me in person, then you would know that I'm willing to love about every kind of silly or not so silly stuff, but today there is not much on TV or in movies that I even find remotely funny!
I already said it before in other talkbacks, but I only laughed two times during "Superbad", which is by many people considered to be THE comedy of 2007! A few weeks ago was Blake Edward's "Operation Petticoat" on TV again and I laughed my ass off although I saw the movie something like 100 times. (Okay, it IS a great movie, I think we can all agree with this.) "The Office" annoys the hell out of me and I don't know if the british, the american or the German version named "Stromberg" is more depressing, but I will be damned if "Kim Possible" isn't the most hilarious kids-cartoon of this decade!
I don't know if it's me or the humour of these sad and cynical times. Probably people are so desperate today that they just MUST laugh about everything, which would explain the millions that all of these 99% unfunny "_________ Movies" these days make at the Box Office. But well, humor is one of these things that are impossible to explain or understand. I got the DVD of "It'S A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" lying next to me. I never watched it before. I'm sure it will entertain me better than every average cartoon "for adults" of today will. (Okay, The Venture Bros. are great.)

Damn, I seriously wrote a few times "love" instead of "laugh".

I am never reading anything about an UPCOMING comedy movie on this site again. You've burned me too many times AIC. And I have a feeling this time its going to be 3rd degree.

His gig on Conan was horrible. It was embarassing. If thats the movie??? Then what is it? And don't pull this oh you just don't get it crap. I personally enjoyed Heartbreak Kid and Hot Rod and thought that Danny R. McBride was pretty much a throw away character in both, that and he played the same guy in both. He was like Farva on slimfast and riddilin. This foot first looks like he's the same character. This looks like its could be funny in the same way American Movie was funny....maybe....probably not...

I've been hearing good things about this flick, but that clip was... less than hilarious. I checked out the redband trailer and didn't crack a smile there, either. Is it supposed to be funny when people say "fuck?" Is that the joke I'm not getting?

    This movie is not good

    by doc_mccoy

There is definitely raw talent on display. Danny McBride is on his way to becoming a comedy superstar. This creative team went on to make a hilarious pilot for HBO, which featured much better writing and directing. "Foot Fist Way" shows signs of great promise, but I think most of it will bore you to tears.

Danny McBride was great in 'All the Real Girls'

    by laserhead

In the trailer for FootFistWay, McBride finds out his wife was cheating on him and he tells his buddy, "I'm just worried about you. If this could happen to me, you're wife's probably going to butt-fuck somebody." That's funny.
