Comendy Central says of 12.6:
IT’S A WORLD WITHOUT THE INTERNET
ON AN ALL-NEW "SOUTH PARK" ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16 AT 10:00 P.M. ON COMEDY CENTRAL
NEW YORK, April 14, 2008 – The citizens of South Park wake up one morning and find the internet is gone, in an all-new episode of "South Park," entitled "Over Logging," premiering on Wednesday, April 16 at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on COMEDY CENTRAL.
No one in South Park has internet access and there’s no telling when, or even if, it will come back. Desperation sets in as the fear of the unknown spreads rapidly across the country. When Randy hears there still may be some internet out in California, he packs up his family and heads west in search of a signal.
Is anybody keeping track of the number of times the characters have made their way west to California over the years?

Sounds good.
-
hhhmmmm lets see..obscure movie reference..how about Damnation Alley?
-
..with rabid bands scouring the land for a wi-fi signal..
-
I have to admit, the allusion to The Lottery in the Britney Spears episode was pretty brilliant... I hope they do some good Mad Max/Six String Samauri with this one!
-
The promo that's running on Comedy Central makes it look a little like "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street", a classic Twilight Zone episode in which people in a small town turn against each other after losing contact with the outside world. That would be awesome (but of course it's probably going to be hilarious anyway).
-
The Farthest Shore. only replace "internet" with "magic". oh and replace "west" with "west beyond west".
-
The famous sci-fi/fantasy story by mid-century Norwegian author Hansof Pansof...
Or it might be Grapes of Wrath. Yeah... I think I might go with Grapes of Wrath. -

-
All ripe for the picking here, Tanner.
-
.."I've abandoned my sooooon, I've abandoned my booooy.." He's got the mustache, it could be hilarious.
-
TUKAJOBS! DEYTUKAJOBS!
-
Or a clear view of the southern sky.
-
This season has had balls.
-
Over. I'll tell ya, camp doesn't get much better than "Damnation Alley", "Megaforce", or
"The Concorde:Airport '79". -
Just a few more mins til it's on for me buddy!
-
It sounds like it's going to feature Randy, so it automatically is likely to rule. Randy kicks so much ass it's insane.
-
So everyone uses Safari in South Park?
-
it's funny so far
-
I hear they haves some internet
-
even in black and white
-
please do it
-
thats why he is the man though.
-
I can't believe they did that. LOL
-
that was something I didn't need to see
-
Randy sure made a mess.
Great episode! -
a good way to ruin a great south park episode
-
There goes my social life, my sex life and the ability to mock relentlessly.
-
i get it! that's what WE'RE doing!
-
that was the best south park this season!
-
They slimed me!
This and Major Boobage are the best in years. -
Anyone know what Randy's costume and speech at the end of the show were a reference to?
-
but the 'ectoplasm' scene was freaking hilarious. Still doesn't beat the singing penis \ mouse duet from last week tho
-
Let's hope they keep this up one more week heading into the "offseason."
-
The last scene was a parody of On Deadly Ground. Randy was wearing Steven Seagal's jacket. Someone tell Vern so he can call the South Park creators assholes again.
-
badass episode lol
-
I didnt think you could show that on TV. hahahaha
-
brazillian fart porn....wow...
-
I loved how Shelly couldn't live without messaging her "boyfriend" on the net, but in person, could hardly manage a sentence.
-
I love this show.
-
with the RESPECT...that it deserves...
-
And I'm not just sure about that, I'm HIV positive!
Randy was great in last night's episode... surprised to see no Cartman, Kenny, etc... a very unusual episode... made a good point too... this is definitely the best overall season of the last few. -
It has been way too long since Shelly was the angry, bitter sister who beat on Stan. Her reappearance was great. What was even better is that they didn't need or even show Cartman and yet put up quite possibly the best episode this year. Cartman is great in doses, but Kyle & Stan's families are almost as insane in a more traditional manner. More please!!!
-
She's the gift that keeps on giving. She's GREAT in small doses, like tonight.
-
I honestly think that could be THE least funny South Park I have ever seen. It was TERRIBLE.
Ironically, last week penis mouse episode was one of the funniest. I'd guess the ordering was not a coincidence. They had to put this dog somewhere. -
...was the only funny part of last night's episode. The rest of it was amusing, I wasn't bored while watching it, but it definetely wasn't funny. It was an okay episode. Randy and the porn, though = gold.
-
To me, this ep. evoked the classic SNL skit w/Will Ferrell & David Allen Grier about the morning news show team that goes all Neandertal/Lord of the Flies when their teleprompter goes down. Will ends up killing DAG, hoisting his severed head & screams "I killed the weatherman...his strength is in me!"...then gnaws on his severed hand. Classic.
-
Once of the best in years (arguably). Given where we're heading economically and how dependent we are on our toys, I especially appreciated the Great Depression homage. I don't think most people consider how addicted to the internet they are and South Park is best when it gets a serious message across in a non-preachy way (the overt preachy eps suck though). And of course, the climax of the episode had me laughing harder than I have in a long time. Brazilian fart porn was good too.
-
One long, extended non-joke doesn't qualify, right?
-
Not one I would wait with baited breathe to see again
-
Last night's, Cartoon Wars, Cartman jumping homeless people and Smug Alert. Oh and Mazzkie, no, the absolutely terrible Major Boobage was WAAAAAAAAAAY worse. Easily the worst episode since Wing.
-
If you ask me, I think the politics (the never ending politics) of Parker and Stone have a very strong right wing undercurrent to them.
I think if you take a look at what they attack these days all happen to be some what "leftish".
I don't see Blackwater, Haliburton,
illigal phone taps, torture or the Bush gov't in general ever being targeted.
Before I get flamed by neo-cons, I did not say they should not attack the left. I just mean, I find that it is the left that seems to be always the target of these guys these days.
-
I forget which movie it was but it was the one where Segal is up in Alaska fighting the evil oil companies who want to take the land. At the end he gives a speech where he says the oil companies are evil and keeping 100mpg cars off the streets.
-
Awesome. That will be 49.95 on your credit card.
-
I have not laughed that hard from somthing on television in years
-
It's that they hate conservatives less than liberals. Thats what they said themselves. As I remember when Kenny was knocked into a coma the Republican party got it pretty bad and it was a pretty apt criticism if you ask me. Exploiting tragedy for political gain is not excusable.
-
If they have any political agenda/affiliation, it is Libertarian, and that is why they RULE (even though the last couple of seasons of SP haven't been as good, IMHO)
-
It's not that they put their political views into play during the episodes, it's that they just make fun of the stuff no one else is making fun of. Everyone makes fun of Bush, so why would they want to? If you really seriously haven't had your fill of jabs at W, then go watch that stupid-ass "Lil' Bush".
Plus have you seen right-wing comedy? Holy fucking shit. Fox News had a "Daily Show" esque show that aired for like three episodes and it was the most retarded thing ever broadcast ANYWHERE.
Matt & Trey help maintain the balance by NOT making fun of what everyone else is. Excellent episode BTW. -
Shit, last night's ep and Major Boobage are TIED for the best episodes this season. Much better than most of the episodes over the past THREE seasons. Can't wait for next weeks, AT ALL.
-
Most of the show was parodying the Grapes of Wrath. Especially when it went black and white and they were in the camp. And Randy is the man!
-
Funny thing about that is that the boys covered this a while ago. When asked why they seem to attack the left a lot, they said it is because the left gets their balls all bunched up about it and that makes it funny. The republicans are so used to being attacked that all you are doing is preaching to the converted.
-
It shows how the left will latch onto the sound of something and make it an attack instead of dealing with what it actually means. Neo-con now means "evil republican" instead of what it was created to mean: "liberal republicans"
-
The Satire message would likely be were more wired in then we are personal with people anymore and also the environment. Its simple to really effect change with the planet as simple as a 9 year old unplugging something and plugging it back in but everybody has there head up there asses to do something about it? Plus americans as a whole are pretty dumb. Media Whores to the Max. Also riff of satire of the american economy as awhole where there isnt very little growth and people thinks things will be better elsewhere and when they get there but the government will give you a little help et al this Bush give all americans 100.00 or something thats what i took from the 40 seconds of internet. You know for a crude show Matt and Trey are smart.
-
Oh man i fucking lost it there.
-
Once I get me some internet ill even click one them pop up ads. Carol Carol I ordered us some books from Amazon.com I didnt even put the SHIPPING INFORMATION THE SHIPPING INFORMATION NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
-
holy shit that was actually pretty freaky for a cartoon. the best of the season unquestionably. thank fuck there was no Cartman either, that guy was getting grating.
-
but at least it was almost watchable and not as sucky as most of the recent ones. it's over johnny
-
But if you want ST:TNG at absolute basement (FAIR) prices, here's the secret... Lean in, I'll whisper it to you. Are you listening? (Looks left, looks right) AmazonUK. A simple click away fellow Yanks. Anywhere else and they're bleeding you.
-
I was wondering what the ending referenced. Great episode, esp. the climax (yes, I went there) of Randy's quest for internet porn.
BTW, could someone change the list? Britney didn't shoot her hair off. She blew her head off. It was funny the first couple weeks, but now, it's just embarrassing. -
you have a region free dvd player
-
You are wrong. Congrats!
-
Eek A Penis and Canada on Strike are a little weak, save for their respective catch lines ("He's not your buddy, guy!" among my friends usually starts that dialogue chain everytime.) For me Major Boobage and A World Without Internet have been the best thus far. As for the satire, I would say Trey Parker and Matt Stone are libertarian at their core, but then there are the glaring exceptions like curing AIDs with money alone get my gears turning. Ultimately, I think they'r disgusted with the Left's faux self-righteousness as practiced by Hollywood and like to not-so-gently rake respective offenders over the coals. Overall, good stuff, thus far.
-
I was a little hopeful with improvements over the last three episodes. But I just watch this one and it ranks up there with Wing, Jackoffasours and the rest of the bad eps. I'm not even sure what the point of the eposide was or what point they were trying to make. I tried hard to suspend my disbelieve at the total non sense way they tried to protray the internet as working. But I couldn't even get a chuckle out of this ep. Here's hoping they come up with a classic before the end of this run.
-
I've come to the conclusion that South Park went into decline since they got rid of Chef. Even though Scientology is a goddamn succubus, give Isaac his tree-fiddy or whatever he wants and get him back on the show.
-
Neocons are not liberal Republicans. There is nothing liberal about neo-cons. To be liberal means to realize that we are al in this together and to understand that it is in our best interest and especially our economic interest to realize this fact. Neo-cons just have some ideology and a complete lack of regard for facts or pragmatism. Also, a seemingly complete lack of compassion for anyone but themselves.
-
Neo-cons ARE liberals. That is why Bush has outspent LBJ in domestic spending. That's why he's engaged in nation building. That's why he gets "creative" with the constitution. And it's hardly a surprise when you consider that the founder of the neo-con movement, Irving Kristol, was a Trotskyite and proud member of the Fourth International. Here's a direct quote from the founder, "Ever since I can remember, I've been a neo-something: a neo-Marxist, a neo-Trotskyist, a neo-liberal, a neo-conservative; in religion a neo-orthodox even while I was a neo-Trotskyist and a neo-Marxist. I'm going to end up a neo-that's all, neo dash nothing."
For a counter example of a traditional, conservative Republican, see Ron Paul. But to call the neo-cons conservative is kind of missing the point. They wouldn't be 'neo' if they were. They'd just use the conservative label as is. And to make sure we're all clear on our definitions, conservatives are for small government, liberals are for big government. Every other definition is bullshit. And under the neo-cons, the government has never been bigger.
-
Libs = Tax & Spend. Mindset: You are too stupid and incompetent to take care of your self, so we will steal from those who can and give to you the bear minimum to survive while we make you dependent on us. All of your money & kids are blong to us.
Neo cons = Borrow & Spend & blow stuff up along the way. Create vasole states. Unlimited corportatism everyone's a customer anyway. Who cares if your job goes over seas, someone will still buy our crap.
Libertians = Don't meddle in my business and I won't meddle in yours. Leave me alone man. If it doesn't bother me it isn't a crime. -
Covered in his own spooge. "It was a ghost!!!" One thing's for sure, these guys know how movie genres work. Aside from Grapes of Wrath & Close Encounters the other jokes were parodies of style. In the first few mintues I caught tones similar to Dawn of the Dead and War of the Worlds and when they got to the internet itself it almost seemed like a Stargate/Independence Day reference. Why can't those idiotic spoof movies figure out that this is how its done?
-
deliciouscowbell biggest dumbass ever!

Yeah, its what you think it is.
