MAD MEN!! ALIEN NATION!!
SG1: CONTINUUM!! SHOT AT LOVE!! ANDROMEDA STRAIN!! TaxDay HercVault!!
I am – Hercules!!

So how much does that cover remind you of "Fantastic Planet"?
You’d think something called Alien Nation: Ultimate Movie Collection
might contain the 1988 movie “Alien Nation.” It does not. For $36.99
you get the five TV-movie sequels to Fox’s 22-episode 1989-1990 “Alien Nation” TV series, namely:
“Alien Nation: Dark Horizon” (1994), originally written as the show’s second-season opener, resolves the first-season finale’s cliffhanger and introduces a Tenctonese (Newcomer) slavedriver who arrives on Earth looking to round up his missing stock. It co-stars Scott Patterson, who went on to play Luke Danes on “Gilmore Girls.”
“Alien Nation: Body and Soul” (1995) dealt with an evil Tenctonese scientist and what appeared to be a human/Tenctonese hybrid. It co-starred future “Sex and the City” regular Kristin Davis.
“Alien Nation: Millennium” (1996) dealt with a mind-altering artifact behind a deadly Tenctonese cult. This one co-starred “Married With Children” icon David Faustino.
“Alien Nation: The Enemy Within” (1996) focused on a group of Tenctonese called The Eenos, a little-known cannibalistic sub-species that took to living underground and away from humans when its members reached Earth.
“Alien Nation: The Udara Legacy” (1997) was about Tenctonese sleeper-assassins programmed long before they reached Earth. This one was co-written by Rockne S. O’Bannon, who also wrote the original James Caan movie.
Extras include a 25-minute “Alien Nation” reunion taped at producer-director Ken Johnson’s house last year, as well as commentaries by Johnson on all five movies.

Teensy bisexual Vietnamese-Texan teen-runaway turned Maxim model Thien Thanh Thi “Tila” Nguyen achieved her greatest fame late last year as star of A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila
a very very “Bachelor”-like MTV reality in which Nguyen, using her stage name of “Tila Tequila,” sought her soulmate from among 32 young men and women.
Its finale was MTV’s most watched series telecast ever. 6.2 million viewers.
The fellow who won the contest for Tequila’s heart, one Bobby Banhart, apparently never saw Tequila after the show stopped taping.
An entry from a MySpace blog alleged to be Banhart’s:
well everyone wants to know so here it is she never called me after the last show and no one would give me her number so pretty much I feel like and ass but we are not 2gather u cant have a realationship bye urself ya know so now you all know and sometimes no matter how bad you want things to work out they dont and theres nothing you can do i tryed… thank you all.
The finale in which Tequila chose Banhart (whose MySpace fansite identifies him as a college graduate) hit MTV Dec. 18.
“A Shot At Love 2 With Tila Tequila” was announced by MTV on the channel’s New Year’s special less than two weeks later. It premieres one week from today.

The “Trek” season sets run from 24 to 30 episodes per season. So compare these prices to those $17.99 two-episode discs Paramount was issuing not so long ago!!

Further, the “Star Trek” deals are components of a much larger Amazon sci-fi sale going on right now. You can get the whole "Children of Dune" mini for just $8.99!! Some more of the pricing:

Guilty pleasures.

One day I just out of the blue went Alien Nation crazy. I have no idea what sparked it. I went out and got the Alien Nation/Enemy Mine DVD ($10 for two cool sci-fi movies is made of win) and then bought this collection. I hadn't seen much of the series but I watched the Ultimate collection and was sadly underwhelmed.
-
Just stick with it. In a way it's a slow burn. Before you know it, you're hooked. I am hoping it pulls off an awesome second season like DEXTER was able to do.
-
Seriously, why is that stupid chick even famous? Because she's small and asian? Because she's a fugly little bi-troll? I really, REALLY don't get it- on the level of Paris Hilton don't get it. I mean, at least Paris has an excuse because she comes from a global dynasty. Tila... is a clubbing whore who got a lot of hits on myspace? WTF?!?

Well, the kids have to learn about Tek War sooner or later
by photoboy
I couldn't give a shit about Tila Tequila either, she's just another STD filled whore like Paris Hilton.

Bump! American South, The House of Venus Show 2.x is there something about the aicn demographic that you aren't telling us?
-
It pays to carefully read these. Very funny.
-
That Ollie Johnston obit made me think of it (seriously. Hey, at least I didn't say anything in that particular talkback.)
-
Started watching it on BBC4 recently and it's turning out to be pretty damn good stuff. I was a little leery at first of the whole 'Ha ha, look at the stupid old-fashioned people who don't know about sexism and lung cancer and whatnot' vibe, but as the show has gone on they've toned that down a bit and done a good job of developing the characters.
I highly recommend it to any fans of mature dramas like The Sopranos and Six Feet Under.
-
Dexter is rapidly becoming my favourite thing on the telly, and it's killing me that we're so horribly far behind here in England. I've seen the first five or six episodes of season one, but that add up above is for the season two box set! I may have to save my pennies and buy it on import.
-
The Alien Nation Ultimate Movie Collection has a release date of April 15, 2008 (today), so it is doubtful that you have yet bought this set. The television series has been released as a set of DVDs named "Alien Nation - The Collector's Edition", so maybe that is what you are referring to?
-

In that Alien Nation Movie, Faustino's character
by Shut the Fuck up Donny
had that dumb-ass goatee of his--yet, didn't they address in the show (or the movie) that the Tectonese couldn't grow facial hair? Petty I know, but I always admired the show for trying to maintain a mythos and continuity.
-
You don't even write anything about it!
-
DVD days after it airs on the network? The site still doesn't give an airdate, but its got to air during May sweeps. Aw, the hell with it anyway, it'll be a shitty, overblown remake that Wise captured pretty damn well in the original.
-
Just give me those 2 complete series sets, pretty please with sugar on top? Why is that so hard to ask for. We get so many crappy series out first and for some reason they won't release these. I know the S1 sets didn't sell well, but those were the weakest seasons of both series. Come on, get with it!
-
Do yourselves a favor and get to know Don Draper. Oh, and Roger Sterling.
JOOOAAANNN!!!
-
Like Groucho not wanting to belong to any club that would have him as a member, Tila doesn't want to have anything to do with a guy who'd compete on a show where she is the prize.
His sad boy rant is the funniest thing I've read today. He's a college graduate? Can you now get a BA in illiteracy?
-
Enough said. O an I think ITs funy that teh guy who WON at Tia Tequila is suposed to be a collage gradumate but cant talk worf a crap!
-
Tila Tequila
-
I've never even heard of this. It looks great.. Anyone seen it and care to comment?
-
Well, it was on back in 2001/2002, it was kind of like a heightened senses Catwoman, stronger, faster... while Dinah Lance was somewhat psychic and a martial artist, while Oracle was hot and disabled. But then she walked and fought in the last few episodes and she did wear the Batgirl costume. It was okay, but why a DVD 7 years later???
P.S. THERE ARE NO GAY FANBOYS!!! THEY HAVE MORE PRESSING MATTERS, LIKE CHOKING ON HOGS.
-
and was a piece of ass!
-
were the TWO SECONDS of footage of BATMAN running down a hallway and Mark Hamill's cackling laugh over a shot of a stunt man in Joker make-up. Oh and Ashley Scott is SUPER HOT, but not hot enough for me to last an episode. That's about it.
-
Dina Meyer in a Batgirl costume.
-
Seriously. You proved you could do it. You actually went a week without posting anything having to do with Buffy, Whedon, or the cast of a Whedon show. I'm impressed, and thankful.
I'm equally thankful for the great Doctor Who talkbacks. Thanks, Herc. You came through for us.

-
Thanks, ZeroCorpse, for reminding me that I have a question about Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Do I need to watch the Buffy theatrical movie before watching season one, or is there no real need?
-
Not only is there no need to watch Buffy-the-movie first (unless you're a Kristy Swanson fan), it might even confuse you, since the mythology and monsters work slightly differently in the movie than in the series. That being said, Pee-Wee Herman's death scene is worth the price of rental.
-
...played by Mia Sara. I thought the show was pretty good.
-
Season 1 shows promise, and is a must-see if you watch the series, but it's uneven. Season 2 is where it really catches fire. How long that fire lasts is a matter of debate.
-
Redfang, thanks for the reply. I rented season one from my local Blockbuster a couple of days ago, but remembered that a movie had came out before the series began. I wasn't sure if I needed to watch the movie first.
-
Ok, this will get confusing, but, the histories of the characters are based on the 1970's and 1980's parallel universe home of the Justice Society of America called Earth 2. DC used the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" storyline from 1985-86 to shut down those plotlines.
The show failed because people born after 1978 were raised on Frank Miller and Bruce Timm's versions of the characters, and were completely lost when it came to "Birds of Prey's" take on character relationships, bloodlines, and superpowers.-------later------m
-
y u gotta be so madz. buncha fagits.
-
Seriously, so excited! Thanks for letting us (or more to the point ME!) know about the Alien Nation collection. Been a huge fan for forever and the later movies are hard to come by! Awesome!!!
-
The characters have such rich, great monologues. Pete Campbell has one about how he pictures a wife shpould act, and it's a thing of art.
-
And post-BSG second season.
-
The Alien Nation Ultimate collection isn't new. I bought it either this past January or last December. Same box, same name (Ultimate Movie Collection) and same five made for TV movies.
-
was previously a Best Buy exclusive only. It did come out last year.
-
I stand corrected in respect to the Alien Nation TV Movie set. Sorry for doubting you, James.
-
Guest stars include but may not be limited to David Cross. I heard they aren't licking Herc's vagina, so he won't be posting a press release or anything. Now you know.
-
Don't be sorry for being wrong about when it came out - be sorry for me having bought it! Heh.
-
I bought it, too, but I'm a fan of the show. I pre-ordered from Amazon and received it today.
I think that I only saw the first two TV movies, and recall that they were very bad. The novelization of the second TV movie, "Body and Soul", is really good, though (it's written by Peter David, if you know who that is?).
-
And when the shit is Heroes starting up again fuckers?
-
It rules.
-
I would love to see Bryan Cranston get an Emmy, but then that would mean anyone from Mad Men wouldn't be getting one. The scene where he realizes he needs to kill a man, and his continuous cycle of saying "I'm sorry" is great.
-
Sexiest DVD cover ever.
-
when I saw the Stargate Infinity DVD.
-
official title of new flick.
-
Dammit, I haven't seen any of the new season... off to the torrents I go.

I bought the season 1 dvd set, haven't got around to watching that either. Saw most of the episodes when they aired. HILARIOUS show.
-
I had the Alien Nation movie box set since Christmas. It originally was a Best Buy exclusive at the time.
