Miramax, Kirk Jones, De Niro, And Beckinsale Say EVERYBODY'S FINE!!

Kirk Jones (WAKING NED and NANNY McPHEE) will script and direct a remake of 1991's STANNO TUTTI BENE (aka EVERYBODY'S FINE).
It'll star Robert DeNiro, Sam Rockwell, Drew Barrymore, and Kate Beckinsale.
NOTE: CLICK Drew & Kate's names for obligatory cheescake shots-of-the-day.
De Niro will play a widower who realizes that his deceased wife was his only connection to his children. He decides on a whim to take a road trip to reconnect with each of his grown kids, discovering that their lives are far from perfect.

I'm a huge Tornatore fan, so I hope they don't screw it up. I'm suprised they aren't trying to remake Cinema Paridiso, though. One of my all time favorites.

I gotta admit, he did a decent job portraying Marvel's Daywalker (Blade The series)and after the show was cancelled I have'nt heard from him in almost 2 years.Oh wellz.

Not a good idea for a remake - the original doesn't have much going for it besides Mastroanni - and De Niro is going to struggle with getting the warmth and grace notes needed for this I think.......unless it's a total reimagination of the original.
