Remember That Antonio Banderas Produced Meteor Movie?? A Second TRES DIAS Trailer Is Now Online!!
Merrick here...
A few days back, we linked out to a trailer for a movie called TRES DIAS (3 DAYS). Internationally, this is called BEFORE THE FALL (not to be confused with a Nazi movie of the same name). You can find our original report HERE.
The TRES DIAS is Spanish & is about what happens when a group of folks learns they have three days before getting beaned by a big-ass space rock. It's produced by Antonio Banderas, and recently played the Berlin International Film Festival.
A new trailer, cut by F. Javier Gutiérrez (the film's director), has now gone on-line at cinemavip. My Spanish is a bit rusty, but if I'm correct this seems to downplay the meteor angle and amps up the thriller vibe.
You can find the trailer...
HERE!!!
If you're good with Spanish, an interview with (director) Gutiérrez can be found HERE. Apparently, he reveals that an American version of this film is being mulled & he's already received studio offers.

How Do You Say It? Ahhhh, Yesss... Talkback.

Sorry, just got back from Dallas Comic Con and am running on 3 hours of sleep & a gallon of coffee.
-
that an American version is already being discussed. People need to give more films with subtitles a chance, especially if its a film that is slightly more thoughtful and philosophical about the last days on Earth.
Its like before its release the suits and directors had been saying "Oh yeah, Pans Labyrinth needs a US re-release" before it had even it the cinemas.
I'm not the most adventurous when it comes to world cinema but im always up for new films recommended by mates. I caught the 'big' J-Horror films on release (Ring, Dark Water and a few more) and am honestly glad I did.
Financially I can see why it's always pursued but (again) like in the case of Pan commercial and critical success is possible without a 'reimagining' (probably involving Shia?). -
...a giant meteor once was plenty thank you. Twice in one week is out of the question.
-
..it does not like the human beings!

I had this stupid fuck Idea 10 years ago, and my college buddies thought it was lame so I never even bothered to write it. Stupid ether, I should have never said nothin.
However, I'm surprised it took this long to actually come out, I just never thought it would take the idea this long, nor would it materialize in the head of a Spanish writer.

Very lousy trailer.
-
Seriously. Just some minor web development needed here.
-
What a lousy trailer. Terrible audio.
-
This looks like something worth watching. The first trailer was pretty weak. I mean, imagine how crazy people would go with just 3 days until total destruction.
-
...why are people trying to kill each other when they will all be dead in less than three days anyway? Wouldn't this be the time to finally realize the dream of making that 64 oz. gin and tonic?.....

Uh, didn't we already get two of these a few years back?
by orbots commander
They were called Armageddon and Deep Impact. What, they're being made remade already?
-
looks good to me
-
What the hell is K-Fed doing in this movie?
-
This could be called Deep Impact or Armageddon rip offs, but if this is what I think it is, then it's the big what-if and the worst, but most honest, case scenario. A big rock is going to obliterate Earth, and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it, so now everyone you, and those around you have to deal with this immediate mortality. It's not told through some big government agency but rather those little ant people on the ground running and screaming for their lives. At least I hope that's what this is about.
3 days? three acts.. got it? good.
Banderas needs to stop reading my thoughts :(
-
just wondering if he has by now.

The entire premise of this film, like "Day After Tomorrow"/"Armageddon"/"Meteor"/"The Core" "An Inconvenient Truth" is patently absurd and laughable. We would have, at the minimum, months, and more than likely several years to detect something and have more than enough time to deploy a countermeasure to it. This is what happens when MTV and Al Gore teaches Earth Science to young skulls full of mush.
-
I also liked the old man's shotgun suicide. Not too often do you get to see the fire shoot from the muzzle at that angle.
-
I must have missed the part in "An inconvenient Truth" when Al Gore spoke or talked about a meteor hitting the earth and us only having 3 days notice. Since you must have the film memorized, please let us all know when it happens in the film. I would even accept a mention of a meteoroid hitting the earth at all. Thanks.
Also, when did MTV teach any Earth Science class? That would be interesting to see. Did that happen? -
