What Does She Think Of Ain't It Cool Now?? KUFO's First Season-4 Katee Sackhoff Interview Goes Online!!

Published at:  Apr 05, 2008 9:00:33 PM CDT

SPOILER ALERT !!

I am – Hercules!!

“I can’t believe they’re not making the background actors sign confidentiality agreements,” “Battlestar Galactica” star Katee Sackhoff told KUFO-FM’s Cort and Fatboy on Friday in her first season-four interview with the Oregon radio duo.

“I guarantee you right now Herc at AintItCoolNews.com is contacting everyone he knows in Vancouver,” Fatboy replied excitedly. “Anyone who has set foot on a set he is talking to right now.”

As it happens I think the only person I know in Vancouver is “Galactica” producer David Eick; he told me last summer (SPOILER!!) they don’t get to Earth until the finale. But all background players in British Columbia and Greater Seattle are encouraged to make note of my email address: herculesaicn@yahoo.com.

Other things to learn from the 27-minute chat:

* Sackhoff offers another update on what she thinks of Ain’t It Cool.

* She just got the script to 4.16 and says the series finale will probably shoot well into July.

* “In Battlestar fashion, not everyone’s gonna make it.”

* “I didn’t know 'Battlestar' Could Go Darker.”

* While the background actors apparently have free rein, the foreground actors are being kept more in the dark than ever this season.

* Bill Adama choking Kara Thrace this season was all Edward James Olmos’ idea.

* A horrific ‘Bionic Woman’ mishap was momentarily thought to have placed Sackhoff’s ‘Galactica’ participation in jeopardy.

Listen to the entire shebang here.

if i was writing it that's what i would do. kara is too obvious. any of the adams screws up the father/son relationship. roslyn is the best one to make the story. kara (the "good") vs roslyn (the "evil). roslyn in bed with adama. roslyn having control of the entire fleet, taking them in the wrong direction. do not know how they would explain starbuck's ship though

Is it just me or does this sound like they're making the exact same mistake that Voyager did by only showing them getting to Earth in the final episode thereby robbing the audience of any emotional payoff?

    by baron merlot

I loved the season opener. As some of you mentioned, great battle sequences (loved the Galactica's cannon's firing) and nice character growth. The Baltar as Jesus thing drove me nuts though. What was his followers' faith based on? Historically, religious leaders at least perform some kind of miracle or show show "God-given" powers, but I don't recall Baltar doing anything particularly God-like to create this group of blindingly faithful disciples. Wasn't he just a charismatic politician that told the people what they wanted to hear?

was not the only messianic figure. his time was riddled with prophets. he just so happened to be the most famous one. sorry, christians, but that's the historical truth. you can still argue he persisted cuz he was the real deal though.

also, baron merlot, baltar's miracle happened in the season 4 opener with saving the boy through prayer. his charisma and stature got him his groupies (hey, even bush still has his 30% out there) and this miracle will make him a demigod.

    by mechasheeva

He's the antichrist. The antichrist arrives to ready the world for the coming of the messiah. Many see him as a prophet or confuse him for the messiah. Biblically speaking, I mean. Also, Baltar pretty much has the devil living inside him. The real messiah, of course, must die and resurrect so that she can prepare the way to heaven for her people. I say "her" because it's Kara. So neither of them are Cylons, but they still have a part to play.

Really want to see where they go with the Starbuck storyline. Whoever set her up with a new ship certaintly didn't seem too interested in making her story credible. New ship, no scratches, no info in the nav. computer, no explanation for the time descrepancy. They even set the clocks wrong. And she navigates by Spider Sense. If not for the new ship an the Spider Sense I might be thinking she got spat out of an alternate universe or timeline. All of this has happened before and all that. Though, I'm not sure that would fit this series anyway. Cool stuff though.

    The 12th Cylons is ...

    by thecap

...going to be a really tough call. Roslyn, either of the Adamas, Starbuck, Baltar are all way too obvious choices. More minor character like Felix, Helo, Callie would be mildly surprising but still a little bit predictable. It's got to be someone or something far less visible than we think. The idea that something "mechanical" that has been right in our faces the whole time has a certain poetry to it - for example, what if the Galactica's FTL drive was the last Cylon ?

...Doc Cottle as either the 12th cylon or the cylon God. He's been there since the beginning, always in the background, interesting encounters with characters including D'Anna, etc....

As for people's jobs being over after this...doubtful. Even if BSG still doesn'ty have a huge audience, critics love it, and so do other people in the tv biz. The guy playing Helo is already signed up for Whedon's new tv show Dollhouse...so my guess is they won't have too many problems getting work.

Crazy idea probably. But maybe it reincarnates itself through an artifical gene spread among members of this generation of humans, to assemble itself when and where it is needed within a baby. and this baby, faked and cured it's own illness to enhance the myth surrounding Gaius Baltar.

I was thinking that exact same thing just the other day. I kind of like the idea. And to point out a few other things, Galactica is not a cylon. The final five were standing in front of D'Anna in a vision, I'm fairly certain none of those five was a battlestar. Another thing, the "baby" that Baltar "healed" was about 6 years old, so not really a baby. ChestBumpingFatKids is right...Cally is going to do herself very soon, upon discovering that her husband and son are cylons. I strongly believe that the final cylon will be either Dualla or Gaeta. Those are the only 2 that make sense. My money is on Dualla. The other recently revealed 4 are all near someone or something very important to the survival of the fleet. Tory/Roslyn, Tigh/Adama, Anders/Starbuck, Tyrol/Viper Fleet. Once Roslyn dies, look for Lee to be in a very high political office. His wife will be the cylon that is near him.

Makes some sense. I considered Dee and Gaydar too. Gaeta just doesn't grab me as a Cylon, though maybe that's the idea. I could see Dualla as the last. My bets are on Hatch, Dualla and Ellen Tigh in that order. I say Ellen Tigh because it's apparently been hinted that Dean Stockwell knows a bit about the final 5 and he had a total boner for Ellen for some reason. Maybe that's why. Maybe he's a starf*cker.

You're right, Helo would make a good cylon. Consider that he was the only one still alive on Caprica...what happened to the 30 or so people that were left there with him? Not to mention the fact that he saved the cylons from extermination by killing the infected cylons. The only problem with that theory is that Helo is in the Last Supper picture, and RDM said that the final cylon isn't in the picture.

I like Richard "Zarak" Hatch too, he has always been right there near the top of the food chain in regards to the political structure. I think that he might at least be the most entertaining option as a cylon.

Just look at Dean Stockwell. I don't think he's all that picky, I have to imagine that he'd f*ck anything with a hole in it. I wouldn't stand in front of him.
