Is it me, or is Hellboy redder than usual?

    by knuckleduster

They did the same thing with Spidey 2. Must be a sequel thing. Is redder a real word?

well, I liked the first one

    by just pillow talk

so I think I'll like the second one. Seems like the 'team' will be involved more in this one. (probably due to budget)

maybe that's why Hellboy is "redder"

Just saw the Guillermo produced The Orphanage

    by rocklobster800

not sure how I feel about him becoming the new Tarantino (allowing his name to be platered over everything he looks at :S) but the flick was ace-one of the few times Ive been genuinely scared at a cinema! This couldnt scare me cos...y'know Id been thinking about Selma Blair...you have to say her full name-Selma alone reminds me of Marges sister!

    I don't have the words

    by rocklover79

to describe how excited I am for this movie. I was really pleasantly surprised by the first one, and with the team back together plus a bigger budget for Guillermo to work with, I can't imagine how this could flat-out suck.

Love the shots of Johann (a great character) and...

    by rbatty024

Hellboy running with a baby in his arms. That's just damn perfect. I had to watch the first one two times to really fall in love with it. The first time the film was so effortless that I mistook it for being lightweight. So many superhero films are bloated with their own sense of importance that I was not expecting such a sense of humor out of Hellboy. I'm really looking forward to this Summer.

If you didn't like Hellboy 1 the first time around...

    by rbatty024

then give it another chance. It's definitely worth a second viewing. It didn't wow me until I saw it twice. There are so many nice understated moments (for a comic book movie anyway) that they kind of fly past you the first time. The big villain at the end goes down kind of easily, but that's about my only complaint.

Liked Ron and the Hellboy character...

    by hollywoodsummers

but the overall plot and execution of the first one fell pretty flat for me. Couldn't have cared less for the other characters or the threat against them. Will wait for word of mouth before I see the next one.

I want to be excited about this...

    by flint_ironstag

But I just can't. I've always enjoyed Hellboy as these short, creepy, self contained stories. Trying to make up a story when there is already an established wealth of material, letting a director take as many liberties with the characters as possible, all of it just doesn't jive with me. What's wrong with making a movie about 4 or 5 odd little stories where Hellboy does something fun and scary with each?
Regardless of all of that though... The Angel Of Death is still going to be pretty sick.

Hellboy is best comic movie franchise hands down

    by nutnics

The first movie was one of the best comic movies ever made. It wasn't self important like another poster has mentioned and it was 100% entertaining. The action was fun, the characters were very well detailed and the tone was perfect. I dont think Spider pants, or Iron Man, or X-Men have done half as well to capture the creativity as this series. Looking forward to HBII.

John Landis?? The marquee of the Regal Theater reads partially " See You Next Wednesday", the in joke title that John Landis liked to insert in his early movies.

    First one

    by larry sellers

was a bit odd to me, even as a fan of the comics I found it trying to touch on too many common film elements that'd make the whole story more audience friendly. Also I never once found the score exciting nor did it enhance what was on the screen. BUT THIS...this looks fucking badass.
