Three DARK KNIGHT Images Are Stalking Around The Nets!! But, For How Long??
SPOILER ALERT !!
Merrick here...
Okay, well, these renegade images have been circulating for a few days now. At first they seemed to disappear from sites and message boards pretty damn quickly, so I didn't see much point in posting them here.
However, the pics have recently enjoyed some amount of hang time on a few URLs, giving me hope (admittedly a fool's hope) that they might endure here for more than 33 seconds.
With that in mind, a few images from THE DARK KNIGHT. That third one...is Heath wearing a nurse's dress...kinda freaks me out.
Big thanks to everyone who wrote in about these, helping us track them down.

Can't wait for this movie!!!
-
does he look photoshopped into that hospital room to anyone else?
-
You take you meds NOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!
-
Nolan hasn't made a bad film yet.
-
That the more I see the better it looks and feels. I am anxiously waiting for it's release!!!!
-
Everything I sees, I likes...now about that third trailer (cough, cough...) or at least a spoiler pic of Hall as Slade.
-
wow...talk about lame.
-
Anthony Michael Hall!
-
the patient sort of looks like Mr.Dent himself.I could be wrong.

"I'll put nipples on the Batsuit. Ok. Works for me. I Quit."

I actually saw one of these images before it was removed. Must be my lucky day.
-
I can't wait for this movie
-
theres a fourth pic, its closer up on Heath, but with out the mask. You can tell its not Dent.
This movie looks amazing by the way -
...this film just keeps looking better and better. I can't wait much longer.

before everything about it has been posted 100 times on the internet.

wtf, this shit looks f'n sick! We have a winner sorry jack
by donwillymo
Move over Jack cause Heath just took your throne
-
Why so serious-ly friggin long until the movie comes out? Yeah we have Indy but.. by the way, what's the current odds of Dr. Jones saying "I'm too old for this." sometime in KOTC? Anyway need me some Batman.
-
The tone for this film looks so nasty and moody. I can't wait. A proper grown up comic adaptation...at last!
-
Otherwise it'd be Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Chicken. Meanwhile, in Gotham City...
-
Anyone know where its at. It was really awesome.
-
The middle pic- Percy from The Green Mile. Ah never mind- I have failed at humor once again.
-
Just put the fucking gaping cooze shots in the centerfold like you keep teasing, you wanna-be Maxim for the Nerd-set. Quit pretending to be about comics and just cover the damned whiz-bang blockbuster movies and rare, collectible, HTF!!! paraphrenalia that you seem fucking obsessed over. Axe the pointless price guide, devote 80% of your "comics" content to the shysters at CGC and the remaining 20% on fellating Joe "It's fucking magic - we don't have to explain it" Quesada and fucking put that plasticene-lipped, tranny horror-show Angeline Jolie on every fucking cover. Quit trying to be everything to everybody and just GIVE IN to your most base interests. When not even the tweeny, proto-geeks just sprouting their first pubes that are your apparent target audience find anything of interest in your 'zine, it's time for it to go.
-
jack is a character actor. he pretty much does one thing, granted really well, and there has been enough work for him and his shtick. Heath was an actor's actor. he actually changed his performances for each roll. he's missed, and not just by the geeks who will want another Joker from him.
-
I thought it was just a painted on smile from the early stuff we saw.
-
Can't wait for this movie. Hope WB have the balls to give it its R rating.

Is that Harvey in the bed? Is he about to frak up Harvey's face by throwing some acid on it?I was hoping that the Joker would be on trial and throw acid on Harvey's face during cross-examination, and then the movie would end with the coda of Two Face walking into a bar, asking for a drink, and freaking out the bar tender as he flips a coin. That would be the balls ending like Batman getting the Joker card and telling Gordon he'd "check it out."

is it me or is it all a bit "scanner darkly" in the nurse pic?
by pjvader
or are myes eyes getting that bad

1. Batman being "jokered" to death? wtf
2. Joker without makeup looks more freaky with the scars showing
3. Yeah, agreed, joker cross dressing is not just freaky but fraking distrubing.
Bring on THE DARK KNIGHT... I say laughing maniacally. -

Looks like HDR photography. Look at the definition of all the background items, many things almost having a cartoonish dark outline. More about HDR and some examples here:

thats a pretty damn impressive rant-Ive never read Wizard but I kinda want to hate it so I can agree with you! So, are these pics officially legit? cos the nurse one does look kinda photoshopped...and even the cop one could have been an image of Heath in Monsters Ball altered...but if they are real then Im very happy! Imagine if the first pic of the Joker released had been the one of him in the nurses uniform? people would have flipped out so much I'd probably still be laughing...they play up the playful side of Mr. J alot more too....although I'm loving what we've seen so far I was a bit worried that they made him a bit to morose and ironically, serious-now seing him dress up as a nurse to infiltrate a hospital with his makeup still on has cleared away those fears!
-
..I just couldn't resist to see these! Thanks

Fucking awesome.

If they're anywhere near as good in reality as they are in the stills/teasers, they'll be such an incredible amount of fun. Those new Hellboy pics are fantastic--especially photo 20, which is so striking and weird. I do wish the scenes were lit more darkly overall--more Mignola-like--but once again they seem to have absolutely nailed it visually. You'll notice I didn't mention Lucas' prequel-looking Indy. Maybe that'll be great too--I hope it is, I really do!--but the footage hasn't resonated with me.But it'll probably be good, and this will hopefully be the best popcorn-movie summer in ages.
-
If this is going to be an R?
-
These totally feel right on the money. BTW, is anyone else surprised that there aren't scores of nerds complaining that he just seems to be a psycho with clown make-up rather than a dude with actual white skin and green hair?

The things I would do to her! Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
-
If he's in disguise it's not a very good one, but it almost makes me think that they're giving a new origin for this version. Something like he was a cop, but then got fucked up by some Arkham escapees during the story from the last film which causes him to lose his shit. That'd be a new take on it if they went that route. Chances are it's just him in disguise though. He looks even creepier without the facepaint I must say. -
What! Really do you have the scene so we can compare?
-
Unfortunately, it looks like they took that one down, too.
-
None of them are special or anything...except for the 'nurse' pic...eh...

*****MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT!!!***
**** ONCE AGAIN MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT**** DON READ IF U DONT WANNA KNOW PLOT OR TWISTS*******
In the movie the Joker plants bombs in a hospital and blows it up, he plants em dressed as a nurse, u can see the explosion in the hospital in the trailer, also the pic of him dressed as a cop comes from the trailer aswell, theres a state funeral scene, its Loebs funeral, J kills him as then when the Mayor is making a speech he pops the Mayor too! Its the only way to get him as Gothams rich and powerfull are in hiding Jokers earlier threat that he was coming after them unless Batman reveals himself to Joker, also explains J's hate for the Faux Batmen as shown in the first pic!
***** END SPOILERS!***** -
...please exuses the spelling mistakes in my above post, I must really learn to start proof reading :P
-
fucking Nolan. I love you.
-
Please tell me there are others here in this talkback that hated Batman Begins. BB sucked major dick. Admit it.
-
the focus of that 'zine just jumbles too often. and the price guide just doesn't work. If instead they just mentioned 5 books on the rise and 5 books that have cooled and then have an internet link for a full price guide I'd be happier. They also need to get out of Marvel's bed and cover more indie stuff instead of just mention it. Then again... It IS a business so i guess they have to do whatever they can for the sake of sales... even if that does require dwindling quality. PS. I'm surprised by how awesome these pics look. Hopefully two-face scene in this movie turns out well... We all know how much of a let-down the Venom scene was.
-
no because alot of people are starting to go 'hmm maybe it's the comic that should change, or it should always have been like this'. This fucked up joker is much better than the perfectly dyed Joker from the comics.

this looks so good. how sad heath wont see the reaction to his performance. rest in peace man.

WIZARD BLOWS and always has. Never a negative review, loser/frat-boy humour, constant reinforcing of stereotypes. It's shit like that that gives the mainstream public license to paint everything associated with comics with the same brush. The only reason I ever bought Wizard was for comic book news... Thank god for the internet.

Ive been looking for a picture where the joker is a cop and painted his face - just like the picture above!

Therefore this movie is going to suck so hard.

Batman Begins DID suck!!! It fucking sucked so bad it made my goddamned head hurt. Yea I said it. All the retards start in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ..... GO!! -

Because these pictures aren't really that great. Less is more. The more I see of the Joker, especially in diguises like these cop and nurse pictures, the less excited I am. I was stoked when had that blade up to Maggie's face, that gave me an erection, but these? Meh. The Hellboy II pictures were better.

SPOILER THEORY: (That’s right, I’m tagging this a “spoiler”, even though it’s just a theory). Anthony Michael Hall has been sited playing a wannabe batman, an "Imitation Hero" and an adversarial character in TDK. Then they told us he’s playing some nobody named Mike Engel, but do you remember his original quote when we all first found out he was in the movie? Hall said: "I signed a confidentiality agreement, and I can't say which part I'm playing because it affects the story," said Hall. "I can't give away the suspense - it's a $200 million surprise, and I don't want to be the guy to ruin it." Mike Nobody Engel, some dude made up just for the movie, is not a $200 million surprise. Slade Wilson, as in DEATHSTROKE, as in THE TERMINATOR, is a $200 million surprise, an anti-Batman of sorts, kind of an imitation hero, and definitely an adversarial character. ADD to that the fact we know Chris Nolan approved a Deathstroke action-figure and see if your nipples don’t get hard, too.
-
is it Leaf Hedger came back as a super-zombie and shot perscription pills out of his belly button and then batman called the Olsen Twins to help save the day...naked! I'll be the first one in line!

...I also have to agree that Batman Begins was not the greatest thing I have ever seen either.
-
Maybe, but his main role is of a tv reporter. You see him in the trailer standing by Gordon before he breaks the bat signal with the axe. I don't know if a tv reporter will be able to moonlight as a batman wannabe, he's not superman.
-
is horse-mom porn. Explains everything. By the way, you're not supposed to call 'owned' when you spout out an unwitty 'your momma' joke...others are. When you do it, it only reflects how sad and pathetic you truly are, like you're the only one laughing at your own dumb jokes. I bet you look in the mirror and pull a Stuart Smalley daily. 'Dog gone it, people LIKE me!' No, they don't. You're a poster boy for the pro-abortion groups, you sad little knob-shining basement dweller.

in knowing what GOOD film will come out in the next couple months. I myself wasn't a huge fan of Batman Begins. Wasn't as bad as Batman and Robin but wasn't as good as I thought it could have been
-
I just thought maybe if the Joker does sic the Gotham mobs on Batman, Slade would be a guy they might call. It wouldn't be much of a stretch, right? Somebody's gotta pull the trigger. But if he's hanging out with Gordon on the roof, that kinda sinks my battleship. Maybe the action figure's a red herring.
-
Batman and Robin was the finest piece of cinema since Second Sight, starring John Laroquette and Bronson Pinchot...

maybe the teen titans team up with batman and thwart him. and then just for kicks, the metal men come aboard and form batman's new bike and before you know it, The Seven Soldiers of Victory come and destroy the Joker after the Crimson Avenger gets caught in the cross-fire between The Outsiders and the Fearsome Five. THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO BE CRAZY

***SPOILER WARNING*** Brian Douglas. Batman first encounters him in the Scarecrow arrest-gone-awry scene and later unmasks him on a rooftop. His public hanging forces Bruce to hang up the cape and cowl, but the execution is actually a warning to Brian's secret employer... Harvey Dent, who being the DA can't really advocate illegal law enforcement. ***END SPOILER WARNING***

These images only confirm what probably everyone following the production suspected -- Nolan is no-holds-barred in his interpretation of the Joker and he's going to get everything he possibly can by the censors to make sure it's a "realistic" interpretation. Think about it - a "real" Joker would be pretty damn nightmarish, and I don't know how much closer Ledger's Joker could be to nightmarish even in these images (not to mention the 2+ hour movie nobody's seen!) considering it's technically still a comic book movie with merchandising aimed at kids. I think the people who still hate BATMAN RETURNS for being too gruesome or something are going to be in for more of a shock with TDK than they ever expected. Personally, I love what I'm seeing, and I'm kind of glad that "Begins" didn't start really becoming a big hit until it hit the DVD shelves because in spite of some of the toys we've seen, it feels like Warners is backing off and treating this like a straight action-suspense drama (or psychological thriller) rather than just another one in an ongoing line of comic book "blockbusters." Rumors are (which I think read on AICN) that Warners' execs already saw the flick and the word as to the reaction couldn't be better. This really is going to match or surpass Burton's original, not just in quality of movie but in movie history significance. With what we're seeing, plus Ledger's unfortunate passing, I don't know how it couldn't.
Anyway, I've heard praise because Nolan isn't killing all the villains (like Scarecrow) and that there's never been any rumor indicating Joker's death in TDK, but seems like every time the Joker is in a Batman movie, he dies anyway - on screen or, this time, in real life - the actor that portrays him, I mean. Sad. Hopefully the movie is more a remarkable tribute to his Ledger's abilities as an actor than another reminder of his tragic death. -
has me fucking excited...from the posters to the trailer to the stills. I love Batman Begins, and I expect great things from TDK as well. I've never read a Batman comic, so I can't speak to what the "proper" way to present the Joker is.But I can say that I much, much prefer what little I've seen of Ledger's performance to what Jack's was. I wasn't a big fan of Burton's Batman, though I did like Batman Returns better.
-
That one without makeup... damn.
-
what other "spoilers" do you know about? spill the beans man!
-
it's a done deal. And looking at Ledger's Joker, even in a dress, don't you just get the feeling that he would straight-up MURDER Jack Napier? Or anybody else for that matter. TDK will pwn, that is all.
-

There is just so much wrong with Batman Ends it's really hard to nail down one point because the whole movie from begining to end was terrible. But, let me list a few for the Tards. Here goes: 1)CHRISTIAN BALE - as Batman = The suck. WHy? His dumbass bat voice. His stupid looking mouth in the cowl. He had as much charisma as a blow up doll in the wind. His Bruce Wayne is absolutely forgetable. 2)RAS A GAY - Liam Neeson brought nothing here. He was as bland as he was as a Jedi. The character was not scary and showed not even a hint of menace or of even being a formidable foe for Batman. 3) SCARE CROW - WTF gives with that FUCKING Terrible scarecrow!?!! Everything was wrong with that bullshit. Everything. 4)BATMOBILE - Holy fucking turd shit, are you kidding me?!! Let's keep moving. Worst concept ever. 5)BATSUIT - Seriously, another goddamned rubber suit? I've seen better at Dragon Con. 6) ORDERING THE BATMASK FROM CHINA - Did anyone miss that? Odering a Batman Mask from China?!! 5,000 of them?!! Fuck me. Gayest thing I've ever heard. 7)BEATS UP NINJAS - Brucy (after 1 week of training, it seemed like) beats up a whole troup of ninjas, falls down a cliff and has the personal plane and Alfred waiting on him. HUH?!!! GODDAMN WHAT THE FUCK?!! 8)LEGEND OF SLEEPY BATMAN - Batman on a horse in what looked like Chicago riding around with glowy eyes? Fuck you. THat sucked. 9)THE WHOLE PLOT - or lack there of. A plot to put trippy acid in the water supply?!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That is not only the most overused concept in storytelling but about the gayest shit anyone could've come up with in a Batman movie. 10) WORST ENDING - TO cap off this mess and waste of time was about the shittiest ending you could possibly ask for. Nolan + Bale = Got one over on all of you liked it. Worthless. P.S. You need to watch this sorry ass movie when it comes on TV. It looks even worse and still proves the point that it does not hold up.
-
i mean a guy who starts off being a smart-ass reporter, digging up dirt on gotham's elite...asking questions, searching for answers... would be a good riddler day job- like bruce's- to stay right under the public's noses so they would never suspect.
-
I like my Joker with a big toothy grin. Could have been perfect with a big bababooey like smile. Otherwise looks fine
-
I honestly couldn't care less if I saw these pics or not- sure it's a shame that one of the leads died- was probably his own fault for messing about with drugs in the first place - but seriously- I don't fuckin care about this film? Batman Begins was ok but only when compared to the total abortions that preceeded it. It was "good for a Batman movie" - other wise is was kind of shit- every time the frikkin Scarecrow turned up someone got him in the face and he shat it and ran away and I DON'T NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HOW HE DID HIS INTERIOR DECORATING ON THE BATCAVE THANKS!
Balls
That is all -
I've been reading this board now and I doubt you even think Batman Begins sucks. That's right you are lying. You love it more than anyone you just want people to debate you. I won't debate you because I know you, just like me love that movie.
-
There is no doubt that this movie does in fact David Hasselhoff. Nolan and Bale just called and they deeply apoligize for this abortion/Batman Begins.

July couldn't come sooner!

If this Batman fails... Let's start up some Green Lantern.
by buckys_kick_ass_arm
Absolutely no reason not to employ Geoff Johns as story/co-scripter and Ethan Van Sciver as costume/monster design. Go ahead and tell me THAT's a bad idea.
-
i've really come to accept this nolanverse and how it can coexist with the dc comics one, and it even gives me a new appreciation for the burton- and yes, schumacher ones.
it's like the nolan series is 'what really happened'..and as grounded as you can be in realism without being completely boring- and some will argue it's boring anyway. but what it does is actually glorify the iconic comics and origins to what they really are- myth and legend. tales retold so many times they get exaggerated, glorified, etc. like someone who sees the joker in real life, and assumes alot of things about him, tells a friend who tells a friend and by the end, the joker is a guy with bleached skin, who fell in a vat, which become jumped in a drainage ditch, and on and on. word of mouth and media feul the rumors and mystery. he gives us a pinch of this when the thug asks the scarecow 'can he really fly?'. everyone that encounters the real world characters are going to come away with their own take on them. in this way, the comics are truely compiled mythos, passed down and always changing. and even the movies, good or bad, can now be appreciated as 'interpretations' of the real events and people. -
You neglected to mention he got tazed in the FACE, and screamed like a girl, which was a huge crowd pleasing moment.
-
I saw a report in The Daily Texan about the viral marketing for "The Dark Knight". The last paragraph said the trailer is expected to be released on Friday.
http://media.www.dailytexanonline.com/media/storage/paper410/news/2008/04/03/LifeArts/Internet.Markets.Batman.Release-3300623.shtml -
The only flaws I find with Batman Begins are the "Goyerisms" ("Does it come in black" and other goofiness) and that Nolan didn't shoot the action well at all.
Since Goyer isn't involved in the script there will be no goofy one-liners and other assorted hackery, and since DK seems to be more of a thriller (Nolan's bread and butter) than an action film (albeit a thriller with explosions), it hopefully shouldn't suffer from the problems that BB suffered. -
Anyone tell?
-
Keeping away from plot points which may bait the lawyers (although how many people in the legal profession are going to be bothered about someone who posts on an entertainment website under the name of the fictional antagonist in the made-for-TV sequel to the 1979 version of When a Stranger Calls?!), one thing I like which I hear from my sources at AICN UK (!) is that Harvey Dent is two-faced but not in the traditional good/bad way. ***SPOILER WARNING*** There is the acceptable face of law enforcement (being a DA) and the unacceptable face (funding vigilantism). He is basically Batman in a shirt-and-tie but Brian Douglas gives the game away under interrogation in The Joker's warehouse. From a thematic point-of-view, I like that... it just feels really uncliched. Is that good enough? Oh alright then! During a party, Christian Bale will tell Aaron Eckhart to hide in a cupboard. Now that's gotta be worth the price of admission alone... ***END SPOILER WARNING***
-
BATMAN WAS NEVER ON A HORSE IN BB, jackfuck. Also, he didn't order whole items of the batsuit, just PIECES of it! What do you expect, for him to MAKE the shit? I would respect your opinion except that your facts are COMPLETELY wrong and you cannot even justify your negativity. Ras Al Gay? Yeah, you should be a lawyer. And in the movie, Wayne is gone for 7 years. Guess what Einstein, 7 years does not equal 1 week, unlike your IQ which equals the IQ of a retard.
-
I'll give you that.......although I was praying to be tazed by that point.
Now if she had passed on the face gotten his nards....... -
Boils down to, "Batman Begins sucks because it does. And it sucks because Batman Begins sucks."

shots to BB at this point is beyond me. I thought BB was all at once well told, perfectly cast (who could expect less from Nolan?), and brought Batman back to the screen in a great style...but it was still a little underwhelming. The third act was a bit contrived with the microwave emitter and the train fight and even though the rest of the movie was faithful Bats still let someone die. Though it could be argued Ra's was too dangerous to live. For an origin movie it was pretty great, better than Spider-Man. It just lacked a compelling villain which The Dark Knight most certainly does have. If any of those spoiler bits that were included with the pics are correct (a couple are questionable), this is going to be one movie a lot of people will regret taking their kids to. Joker = very creepy.
-
I like that.
It reminds me of the three issue story from one of the Batman comics where there's a rumor spread by a writer that he's actually a demon.
Also the episode of Batman:TAS where the kids are all telling their version of what Batman is like (where they managed to diss Joel Schumacher) and we get to see the Dini interpretation of Classic Batman and Dark Knight Returns. -
appears to be lucius fox, in the other picture. but that's been the speculative rumor. however comparing the two it seems like they are different rooms. one has curtains and one doesn't.
-
it will be interesting for dent to be a villain that's not just another guy who 'snapped'- although the BTAS split personality disorder was neat- but to be a guy with a different take on vigilantism. and no doubt when he's disigured and sees that legal justice doesn't work, he's going to be someone who starts dishing out his own justice- taking lives, and probably letting his coin serve as jusge jury and executioner....that is if we get treated to a coin!
-
before this one or are we still gonna have to listen to the lisping tough guy act?
-
Check out those chairs and the equipment. Either it's unfinished FX in a very odd place for them or someone has mildly rotoscoped that last image.
-
Sithdan, i was hoping you would comment on how this sin't staying true to comic book material, bt the truth is, this is the upgrade and all the haters will be turned into googling japanese school girls at the release of this movie.
-
is not a great film. but what first chapters are? it was bold to give such a 'boring' start to a trilogy, but with that in mind, man, that last scene left you wanting more. begins was literally the foundation of a house. the dark knight is going to be the real height of the trilogy arc. have no clue where the first one will go....batman realizing he could easily become vengeful like two-face? bo-ring. seen it. so what would you guys like to see in pt 3?
-
...but Batman Begins is one of my top 10 favorite films of all time. I think it has one of the best casts of all time giving top notch performances. It's one of the only big epic blockbusters to actually have human drama and conflict. And The Dark Knight with what looks to be the performance of the century (no understatement it seems) from Heath Ledger, I'm more excited than ever. Can't wait to see what Gyllenhaal and Eckhart bring to their roles also. July 18th...only 3 1/2 months away.
-
I'm sick of hearing people say this about popular movies that everyone liked. I've seen it five times at least. I love the movie. Everyone I know loves the movie. The critics loved the movie. One of the few places you'll hear anything remotely negative about it is on AICN talkbacks, and even then it's only about 5%, if that. So yeah, I will watch it again. And again. And again. I love it. A lot of people love it. It's already a classic.
-
yeah, a special edition with all the painful one liners edited out, and any cut scarecrow scenes added back in, and it would be a good film. and that's from a guy who respects it.
-
I'd like to see Part Two causing a destabilization of the mob world, leading to a "Rise of the Super Freaks" in Part Three. Although without the "Super" seeing as it's the Nolanverse. So the arrival of Ventriloquist, Clock King, Maxie Zeus, Firefly and other criminals who'd fit into this Batman world but still have a bit of a twist to them. So that in Part Four who could have an "Arkham Asylum" type scenario with familiar faces rather than new villians.
-
...in fagology. Underoos and that other idiot I can't remember are his study butties...I mean buddies.
-
is that Nolan has nailed one of the main points of The Joker: he is a horrifying figure. Seeing that nurse uniform is like seeing death coming to you. You dont see it and live to tell about it. This is going to nail the character once and for all.
-
well that wasn't exactly a megaton bomb you just dropped. Lets here some JUICE! What does Scarecrow do in the film? How does Bats capture the Joker? Does he die in the end? Does the Tumbler blow up? Lets hear the REAL gossip!
-
Most action scenes are based on a standard formula. There's only so many action scenarios out there. The point isn't the action scene, the point is whether or not you're invested with the characters IN the action scene. Most of us were... you're the odd man out.
-
For everybody geeking on the Joker's makeup, just wait 'til Two Face shows up in the last 10 minutes of the flick. That make up job is killer!!!!
-
Sure, if you scream the line with a bunch of "!!!" then it will seem stupid. But in the movie it was perfectly delivered, and that's exactly what Bruce Wayne was doing. He climbed a mountain to get there, and when asked why he was there, he answered truthfully. There's nothing wrong with the line.
-
or without "!!!!!!!!". The first movie was a second rate snooze fest replete with Ninja mazes (are you fucking kidding me???) and horrid dialog. That's not even mentioning the idiotic microwave bullshit some cock munch with an 8th grade education dreamed up. If you're easily impressed with shit like this I can understand how the rest of the shit coming out of SC is making money.
-
you almost sounded cohesive and of valid opinion with
"I agree Heath looks fucking awesome as do all the stills we have seen so far. But why is anyone convinved Nolan will handle these villians so well?...The whole stupid zap the water of Gotham plot was absolute trash. Out of all the source material to go with-- this is how you end up? A fucking James Bond-- destroy the water supply plot?"
but then totally screwed yourself with:
Thats just an excuse for fanboys to jerk off all over posters of Bale's abs.
i guess i just want to now why all the negative guys here that never like anything toss around the homoeroticisms as easily as they flick their boogers while online down in mom's office basement. it says alot about a person. -
Real nice trying SithDan the Board like that!
-
I have no problems being the odd man out on this shitty movie. I am pretty sure that my geek O' meter is working just fine though and I could name ten movies I absolutely love and all of you would agree. But I am not here to agree with anyone. SO...keep those creative retarded comments a'commin' because BATMAN BEGINS will always suck your mom's dick. *hits refresh button to watch stupid comments come in because they are still more entertaining than this movie will be.**
-
This movie is going to be so awesome. I was super-excited about Ledger's performance before his death, and that nurse image only sends chills up my spine. AWESOME!
-
Yeah, I was invested in the characters. Ducard struck me as a man who let vengeance consume him... a symbol of what Batman COULD have become. I cared how his and Batman's storylines played out, and I was very satisfied with the conclusion. It's true that the villains weren't the strongest thing about the movie... however Begins was the first Batman movie that was about BATMAN, and I appreciated that. Batman is a fascinating character, and I didn't want a movie where the villains were more interesting than the hero. Now that Batman's motivations have been established, I'm ready for some more intriguing villains in Dark Knight. Thus far though, I think the villains of Begins were a perfect set up.
-
why does he remind me of Michael Wincott that played the bad guy in crow, and the captain of the betty in alien resurrection? at least in that shot.
-
about these comments being more entertaining than BB. Hopefully TDK will set things back the way they should be, sans ninja mazes, giant microwaves, and lisping batman.
-
you guys are cut from the same cloth. you show a glimmer of potential debate but then wreck it with a gay/fuck/mom/dick punchline. you're better than that. i mean, why not go to a thread about something you like, if there is such a thing. is this what you spend your days doing? me, i'm just checkin this place for news and ideas in the five minutes repose after work before i actually go do something.
-
" It's true that the villains weren't the strongest thing about the movie... however Begins was the first Batman movie that was about BATMAN, and I appreciated that." Huh? C'mon....That is a copped out justification for liking this film if I ever heard one. Not bashin' ya man but c'mon.
-
Shit, I was expecting you to call me a homo again... but that's pretty low.
-
Shit, I was expecting you to call me a homo again... but that's pretty low.

If you read my posts I always NEVER make comments like that but this one time I "thought" that it would be funny and well....it just wasn't...You're right.

Sorry, you failed long before mentioning Sandman from S3...
by iamjack'suserid
I don't care what kind of argument you are laughingly trying to make, but to say something that stupid automatically defeats anything you're trying to say.
-
Nope, it's why I liked the film. Period. I wasn't saying the villains weren't strong characters, I was saying that Batman was a stronger character. Which, for once, was as it should be. The movie's called BATMAN Begins. Not Scarecrow Begins.
-
okay, you guys responded fairly there. here's your cool points back.
(hands over cool points)*you have recieved cool points.
it is very easy to get negative in this place. it's weird. -
THat's cool. I hate it. You like it. No biggie. I am very passionate though about this running theme (point) here. The point being; We are so caught up in shit we can't smell it anymore. Batman Begins suckin and lots of people liking it is very sad in a lot of ways. ahhaha. So sad.
-
you aren't going to have a hardcore Joker in a PG-13 movie...and the violence and everything else mature about it will be watered down....gotta sell those Happy Meals after all.
-
If that's the case, I guess every city looks lame to you. Yeah, we need Burton's gothic cities filled with giant man statues (maybe that's what you're really missing from Burton movies!) and huge clouds of steam floating everywhere. That wouldn't distract us at all! Hey fucknuts, a cool goth city doesn't automatically create atmosphere!
-
Yes it's very easy to get (my favorite funny word) "sucked" into this talkback and be stupid. It's also very easy to walk off after a long talkback session and find yourself dragging your knuckles and grunting for your food. I've done it. Easy to do. Looks like Hollywood has bottled this energy and has sold it back to us though. Not cool.
-
Totally agree. And that's what the Joker is all about. But again, the first movie was more about setting up Batman, just as Frank Miller's "Year One" was, which had NO strong villains, but is still widely considered a great piece of work (or are you going to tell me Year One sucks now?). As for Nolan being a hack who will be forgotten... you're reaching. He has yet to make a bad movie. Anyway, got anymore insults for me to help prove your point?
-
you do like. Or I can guess: Any Tim Burton and/or Michael Bay movie?
-
jeez i was extending some honest closure to a blogument there. herd to recognize here.
guess it's easier to just say fuck it. -
And I am sure "sucked" is your favorite word, because that's exactly how you earned your five bucks from last night, and some drunk sailor is to thank for giving you that much. Now go wallow in your own feces as usual, you piss-sucking, walking sperm depository.
-
But we will never see something like that on the big screen. Could it be done? Hell yea it could be. But instead we get Nolan and Bale of hay. Don't get me wrong I liked the Machinist and had fun watching Reign of Fire but....
-
I was NOT being sarcastic!! damn I cant speak for Danny Loner though.
-
If this kicks so much ass, then how will the 3rd one top it?I hope it doesn't end up being like Return of the Jedi, but then again, thats not too much to worry about.
-
I won an argument on AICN talkbacks... which may mean I just lost at life.
-
Thanks for giving me some ideas. Sounds like fun. My place at 7 then?
-
Oh now I know where you're coming from. That movie bored me to tears.

And you're excited to see the new Indy film? Senor Spielbergo is just as susceptible to the Hollywood machine as the next guy. One could argue even more so.
-
not "ba". That term of endearment is reserved for my beer bottles.
-
Not "fun" as in Disney Land theme park fun, but as in fairly surprised that it was not AS bad as I thought it was going to be so it made it more enjoyable fun. Even a not so good movie can be fun or good when it turns out to not be as bad as you thought it was. Get it?
-
Where did all of these faggots come from?
-
Heath's Joker pretending to be part of the firing squad that salute at cop funerals. He shoots twice in the air when the salute shots are fired- Then he turns around and shoots the Mayor.
Kinda reminds you of Jack's Joker and The Mime Guise Gimmick He pulled off- So he could get close enough to that rival boss too commit the Pen Quill murder.
"The Pen Is Truly Mightier Than The Sword"
Then you have the Batman on the bike coming right at the Joker in the alley with the Joker firing at him. and encouraging him to hit him.
Keep talking shit about 89 bats guys.. Your almost fooling yourselves... -
I guess I was actually expecting something from Reign... I mean, how do you make dragons and tanks boring? I thought it would be ANYTHING but boring...
-
These pictures are but a sampling of what Nolan is going to give us. The finished product will deliver. Nolan is a solid direcor and the cast is spot on.
Cheers
-
Overall I like the flick, but yeah, there is alot of stuff in there that makes me go uhg! Really think about the train scene when Bats shoots his line up to it. Why the @#$(*&)! does he tell Rachael who he is? And how old is she? Twelve? And... And... And... Oh yeah and what about...
-

Pretty awesome pics though. Batman Begins haters won't ever be happy.

I don't usually quote people but I will at this point in time. And I am not going to quote from the likely places. Nope. I am going to qoute Maynard James Keenan from the band Tool. The line comes from the song "Hooker with a penis" (refering to your mom no doubt, I digres) anywhoo.... It goes like this. " All you know about me is what I've sold you, Dumb fuck. I sold out long before you ever heard my name. Think about it Miss messi then go clean the pee from your bed. Thank you and good night.
-
That third pic in the hospital room bugged me SO much, I DID take it into Photoshop to examine it more closely. Although I can't say for sure, I really get the sense that it's entirely graphics - no photography involved at all. No patient, no bed, no Heath, no nothing. I could easily be wrong, but it seems I'm not the only one seeing this.

These show what looks like Two-Face, and if it IS Two-face...Kudos to the makeup department.http://tinyurl.com/dnm7v

That's almost as funny as Vicki Vale, Alex Knox, black Harvery Dent, or fat 50 year-old "pervert uncle" Joker from the crap Batman '89.
-
I just noticed the post about the "nurse" pic being "posterized", which explains the odd look to it. I'm going to cry myself to sleep in my waterbed filled with my own salty tears. Good night! And - Oh yeah - "can't wait for the movie", "It's gonna be better than Begins", "I heard Don Rickles has a cameo" etc. etc. ad nauseum.

Batman Begins was phenomenal. Not only in terms of it being the only good Batman movie (all the previous efforts being unmitigated disasters), but the fact that it was a really smart, well-written, and superbly crafted film. I think the haters hate because its what they like to do. Also, because they're dumb. Even if they love something, they "hate" it.

Just like a limp cock he can't quite get to reach climax despite his repeated service to it, I see Underoos is still trying to convince us BB sucked. Its truly a shame your mother's back alley coat hanger abortion of you was only half way successful, but its like I always say, its never too late for a full abortion! Your mother should be sent encouragement, in addition to plenty of antibiotics.

Batman: Year One in some ways, but then, many of the movies have been derivative of Miller's stuff in Year One and The Dark Knight Returns. The scene with him calling the bats to swarm around the SWAT team was from Year One, but at the end of the day I have to give massive, massive credit to Nolan and the people who made Batman Begins as well as The Dark Knight. Begins was a great movie (with the exception of Katie Holmes, Jesus H.) and The Dark Knight is most likely going to be super-awesome. With The Dark Knight and Indy 4 coming out, it's a GREAT time to be a movie geek!

His 1989 semi-masterpiece set the stage, showed everyone else how to do it (make a proper super-hero adaptation), brought us Danny Elfman, etc. His 1989 magnum opus was the harbinger of the other really good super-hero films that followed, including the X films, Spider-Man, Blade, Hulk, and others I forget to mention. Without Burton's genius to show the way (mainly how to get away with showing a guy running around in tights in a real world environment without making it a comedy a la Richard Donner's Superman), I'm not sure we'd have the really good super-hero films we have today... Tim Burton started it all...remember that before you hate...give thanks instead...

We'll see how long they last here...

1.) While funny at times, Donner's Superman was totally believable and full of life. It wasn't "a comedy" but rather the first true superhero comic book movie of the modern age. And a dang good one at that.2.) I don't hate Batman '89. I know that a few of my posts on the other TDK talkback pointed out it's flaws, but I still enjoyed it as a kid, and can appreciate it now for what it is: The best of the first 4 Batman films.3.) Batman Begins is the best Batman film to date, period. Critics, fans, and the general public are on 85%(+) agreement on this. It has the best acting, plotting, pacing, character development, script, and cast of any Batman film. I cannot and will not hear it ever referred to as "less than" Batman '89, when it's obviously so much more than. At least not without good reason. And there are a few: Fight scene camera work, and Katies Holme's acting (utter crap!) but none of those things stack up to the piles and piles of crap that was wrong in Batman '89.The Dark Knight, from all pics and previews, looks to surpass Batman Begins as the best Batman film yet, and looks to equal Superman '78, X2, Spiderman 2, and Batman Begins as the best comic book movie to date, if it doesn't outright surpass them.
-
Donner's Superman was NOT a comedy, although it was an optimistic film. I think people confuse the two. Batman 89 was merely a REMINDER that a proper and serious comic book movie could be made. The next big comic book movie was...what? X-Men? And that was over 10 years later!
B89 was important, but not as important as people make it out to be. I think a lot of its popularity is due to sentimentality. I usually am victim to sentimental feelings, especially movies, but I can see clearly that Batman Begins by FAR kills Batman 89 in almost every way. -
I was referring to franchises. If B89 was as influential people make it out to be, I think we would have seen more comic book movies come out at that time.
-
Batman Begins should have been made, frame for frame, in 1989. Only now does comic books geeks get the movies they used to dream about. Batman 89 made me puke. Fat Nicholoson swinging to Prince, young Nicloson killing the waynes, give me a break. That scene where the fantastic, but here unused Kim Basinger kisses Jokers lap and get some cotton in her mouth is worth the goulag for the filmmaker.
-
It's just that Batman Begins is a far better movie from the perspective of character development. BB is not about Batman - it's about how the central character of Bruce Wayne deals with his feelings of vengeance, loss, pain, anger, etc., while putting the Batman gig together. Very entertaining film. One of those "I can't watch this right now or I'll never get on with the rest of my day" movies.
-
Diddlysquat in credit for anything other than delivering a good music score by Danny Elfman. Other than that it did as much harm as Adam West for me, it did nothing for the character by forever having him less important than the headlining villains who ALWAYS took over the entire picture! Burton made films about Batman villains, NOT BATMAN. If he wanted to take Batman seriously then when he was filming Beetlejuice with Michael Keaton and Alec Baldwin, then he would have given the part to the taller, more suave looking and naturally gritty voiced Alec Baldwin instead of the smaller, geek looking Michael Douglas who was the worst Bruce Wayne out of the lot and the mini-me of all the Batmen! Chris Nolan wanted to tell Batman's story and that's why we have the cinematic genius that is BATMAN BEGINS! Those who just don't like it simply can't assess its creativity in delivering the only movie that actually does the character justice and tells his origins without making him look like a merely a man in a suit. Batman Begins delivers a complex exposition of Batman's character and the intricate details of the paths of his origins that no other film has ever managed to do. It delivers the first stage of his path to becoming the legend that is Batman and sets the scene perfectly for a progressive sequel. All the other Bat films simply delivered colorful villains and a rich guy in a suit with plenty of James-Bond-Gadjects and very little detective prowes. Worse still, every other portrayal of Bruce Wayne before Christian Bale lacked the duality that Batman Begins managed to convey by giving just as much attention to both sides of the character thus delivering a true representation of Batman as a three dimensional character and not a two dimensional costumed prop! Burton's Batman did one thing, it delivered a darker version to the world than Adam West and that's it. The only series I give total respect to for delivering Batman is Paul Dini and Bruce Tims Batman animated series which is truly a legend in its own time and unsurpassed in its depiction of the Dark Knight, his city and his foes. Chris Nolan is on this same track, forever may he proceed and succeed in his venture! R.I.P Heath Ledger

Insomnia is a piece of shit! You can't erase the turning point- Burtons film started it.
You asshole teens are fucked with this Hot Topic Generation and thats why you hate the 89 and Burton for that matter.
I'm 30- I dress in things that are clean. I listen to shit that not new or overplayed on the classic rock stations. I don't do anything too change how I appear too others- cause honestly I don't give a fuck!
Nolan refined it, but Burton ultimately began it. As far as putting it up there on the screen goes! and X-Men is gay!
You Comic book nerds are so fucking lame.... You think your numbers are really helping these films.
COME ON Now... Do You real think that......
Get fucking real!!! Whats helps the films is the casual fans who basically knows the characters name and sorta what they do, but in truth they don't know shit about who that character is or their overall history.
I hate how everyone shits in their pants when a film is nothing like the book. Go fuck yourself! Read the book and deal with it.
It's called taking creative license. I can understand it when it's an established "On Film Only Icon" and it's remake, but not when it's a re-establishment from one form to another!
I'm a casual Fan, and Begins is boring. The films overall structure tries too hard too be deep and meaningful and real and it comes off just as silly as every other batman attempt, but you jaded fella see it with rose colored glasses.
Maybe thats why this film works so well for you nerds with your constantly aggravated spotting mangina's.
It's you man-opera, and those well known faces those exceedingly wonderful actors sell you into them in they're roles. I like them all too except bale and the Murphy fucker and Cruises crazy bitch. But were these roles there best ever. Hahahahahaha I can think of several better Caine flicks, Freeman ones and Oldman....
I always though Brando was a douche. People are always on the verge of sucking his cock when they speak about him- actors directors fans the press. He had em all fooled! But that method acting could make him a better fake piano player in Island.
That 12 inch fig sideshow and hot toys is selling of him looks really gay. Wonder if it comes with some 1/6th scale KY Lube.
I don't care how true too the comic's it is.... Cillian Murphy was a fag villain. The stupid microwave gun making insano gas was right up there with 89's end. Give me a fucking break and stop Deep Denying!
80 percent worship it... Really doesn't 80% of America still believe in God... Didn't the majority re vote Bush in for president. Aren't most of you hipsters wearing hoddies and multi logo covered styled clothing. Fuck the majority!
Jaded looking for deeper meaning then there actually is pimple popping faggots. The Dialog in begins was pretty close to the dialog in the matrix. Real people don't talk like that. If they do talk like that i the real world they pause for long periods of time before doing so cause that smart dialog has to be thought out before it's executed. The movie Scream Started it and I wish it would fucking die already! The whole lot. That said I have high hope for a entertaining. and only entertaining TDK flick. No deeper Oscar worthy meanings. Just a fun film. with less of the how much it hurts to be a crusader of evil... Batman is a whiny goth bitch. Always has been- I have no clue if Robin fixed that. He seemed real gay happy in the Adam West show.
Most of you guys are a bunch of mindless sheep posers. Hell this site didn't talk about Grindhouse Cinema or praise it until QT and RR made they're homage flick. It's only relevant too you douche originaless followers when it's carried in on a platter before you, before then your oblivious! The dialog in the film comes from scream, and it got real old by the time Matrix 2 came out.. Fuck your batman i hope the next ones much shorter on the eloquent dialog and more into the action. Hopefully Nolan can keep the camera still long enough for us to see a fight scene.
Bet you the David Fincher would have made a better batman flick, and he wouldnt force his brother to read all the comics to please you lifeless loser comic book fans. -
The Joker. Stupid faggot! Nolans selling the villain too even the Imax 6 minute preview focused on him robbing a bank. You fucking sheep with the Rose Colored Glasses are a trip man!
-
HOWEVER this looks to be better in ever way !
-
You should change your nick tooo "I am a late to the party fightclub fan who has no life" B89 was in Guinness that year for the highest grossing film. Films back then were not like they are now. AKA One makes lots of money and they make 12 more just like it. Back then they just made sequels.
-
The debate between BB and 89 says you all want the story over image, and yet the culture you supporting survives on the ink images. If it didn't comic books wouldn't have images in it. And yet you kick Burton in the nuts for his contribution. Damn I find that shit Ironic! He started the darkness on the silver screen. One day you'll stop ignoring that truth!

the Dark Knight. I didn't think that was possible. I'm impressed, Miller.

You could say Batman Begins is Batman '89 but with a serious psychological dramatic exploration(explanation) of Bruce Wayne's character and minus Burton's trademark quirkiness/humor. Tim Burton's approach to Batman/Bruce Wayne was to keep him a mystery, an enigma. His personality was always at arm's length, as if we were the reporters w/Vicki Vale trying to find the truth, but never exactly getting it. B89 was a mystery, BB explains the mystery. But more than that, Tim Burton showed everyone how to create a cinematic environment where you could believe there's a guy running around with a cape and bat ears. Before 1989, the world was expecting grey and black spandex tights, Tim Burton gave us black armor. Pre-1989, we were expecting a New York city backdrop, Burton gave us the fantastic industrial Gotham designed by Anton Furstw/homages to Orson Welles and Citizen Kane. Prior to '89, we were thinking Adam West, Mr. Burton gave us darkness and metaphors of duality. This is what made the movie Batman work, and why Batman Begins works. Prior to 1989, nobody was thinking the way Tim Burton was thinking. That's why the dude is a freakin' genius, and we all, including Chris Nolan, need to be bowing down at Tim Burton's throne...

A well made entertaining movie with some incredible music. C'mon, you must suck as a person if you hate it. I mean I just can't imagine you being a cool person to hang around with.
-
Not to say art doesn't evolve, but pretty much everyone loves the flick, or at least respected it enough to admire the intentions and craft. Anyone saying otherwise is a poser.

..."clueless moron that speaks a lot but actually says nothing". Yes, it would make a great Native America name for you. Late to the party? What party? Fight Club? Did it ever occur to you that I've been around long enough that I was here when Fight Club came out? Probably not, as indicated by the profound lack of intelligence present in your wall of meaningless text you call a post. Really, your post was the most empty collection of words sporadically laced with profanites and vulgarities that I have ever wasted my time reading. I find it funny how you call us "Nolan cocksuckers" when it is you, Sir, who seems to be riding Burton's cock as your wave your hat and yell YEE HAW. Your homophobic post suggests something that you don't want to face, but don't worry, soon enough you'll be scratching your throat with a skin flute and lubing your stomach with some man juice in no time, unless you've already exited the closet and accepted your true self. Oh, and anyone who uses the whole 'box office = quality' aspect automatically fails in life, although I am sure you've long since done that. If we go by your bullshit equation, movies like Transformers, Titanic, Alvin and the Chipmunks, etc. would be considered great movies. It's how movies have held up in the long run, and Burton's overmade, overgothed, under-plotted example of aesthetic excess does NOT hold up well, and Nolan's take KILLS Burton's. Acting, direction, design, story, EVERYTHING. The only thing Burton's Batman may take the advantage with is the Batmobile, but WOW...still doesn't put a dent in the HUGE colussal fact that BB destroys B89. Now go masturbate to Edward Scissorhands as you imagine him trimming your pubes so that you can finally find your microphallus, you pathetic ball of regurgitated ass splooge.
-
There is no need to reply or provide rebuttal. That is what we call self-ownage. When you wake up 20 hours later with your massive hangover from hard drinking and crack sniffing, maybe you'll come to your senses and realize how profoundly idiotic you've been.

I dont get why theres a divide between Nolan Bat fans and Burton
by rocklobster800
I love em both! cant we all just get along? I mean, I grew up with Burtons version and I loved it (still do) but I now realise that its not the definitive version...its just Burtons version.and I know Nolan has borrowed from it (the black suit being the obvious)but he also seems to have more respect for the source material (he can tell you where hes getting things from where Burton has said that he would "never read a comic") However, while I will love em both I'll say this-in retrospect Michael Keaton does a fine job as Batman, but it doesnt seem that he was off training crime fighting foryears-he really just looks like some guy. Bale on the other hand looks and acts like an intense guy who has dedicated his life to it-then again Keatons Batvoice (and even general appearance) are better than Bales slighly over the top routine. Both are flawed but not the extent where I HAAAAAAATE one and "suck the others cock" (which is the juvenile term for the day)...again I grew up loving Jacks Joker and he''s still a riot, and looks closer to the classic JokerBUT Ledgers version may be a revamp, but he looks and acts closer to what the Joker should be-a really genuinely scary, fucked up pyscho, not a whacky old killer. Both versions will be there and Ill like both of em, but Jesus people can we not all sit down and accept that we HAVE both of em, instrad of trying to destroy one or the other? I mean, if we are getting pedantic, the animated series is about the best Bats your gonna get, but lets not go into that....

I pretty much feel the same (see above post) but the reason this has come out was a few whiny haters who don't like the new Nolan films were trying to pass off Batman '89 as way better, and BB as "crap", which while utterly retarded to begin with, didn't even have any good points to back that view up.So they got blasted on nukka!Really, it is silly. Burton's film was good, and is still enjoyable. Nolans is better and is to date the definiative Batman movie. TDK looks to surpass it. To believe anything else is folly.
-
RockLobster pretty much nailed it. I couldn't have said it better myself. Kuddos.
-
How can you debate one Vs the other...both are lame. Burton had a shit script and Nolan can't direct. Plus his Batman sounded like he was strangling each time he had the suit on.
-
Is more like it. Burton can do wonderful things with the right script. Nolan's best films were penned by himself and/or his brother. For me, both are entirely competent directors and there's plenty of room for both. It's not even worth arguing about really. The movies are very different in tone, so it just comes down to a matter of taste. And the tone is drawn from the screenplay. And screenplays were written by Sam Hamm and David Goyer (the Goyer one-liners stand out more than whatever Nolan's dialog typically reads like)...not the MOST talented writers and arguably less talented as writers than Burton and Nolan are as directors.
-
Nice one, Braffed. You really told me. God, how will I go on with my life after having been put in my place by such a witty and original insult? I was wondering what could explain your absence, and with your powerful words, I can see that your time away was well spent formulating that lethal pair of emotionally impactful words!
-
Braffed is nothing but an attention-whore troll who lolls around the AICN boards hoping someone will respond to his insults. He mostly misses his daddy's penis in his mouth, though.
-
I am perfectly fine allowing the two to co-exist peacefully although as my posts have demonstrated, I lean heavily in Nolan's direction. I was a HUGE Batman 89 fan, but then again I was about 13 or so. Since then, I still liked the movie, and it had sentimental value for me, but once Batman Begins came out, it was very obvious that it came MUCH closer to Batman than Burton could ever dream. Burton used the opportunity to make B89 to show off his gothic obsession, and in doing so lost the essence of Batman.
-
When he isn't on his knees, he tends to get a little cranky.
-
After all, TDK is better than any of the other crap films being tossed about.

I am t3h phail, as they say.

who wants to talk about TDK? The pics of Ledger as Joker are downright scary. Not like I'm afraid, but the images are disturbing. It's an interesting take on the character.

time for a new one.

I agree with your 20 posts, from all I have seen of the Joker, trailer and pics, he is VERY scary and disturbing. It's been long since there's been a genuine scary character (like this) in movies. I'm looking very much forward to seeing how spooky his performance really is.
-
yeah, you cant deny that the Ledges Mr. J just plain doesnt look like a very nice man....in fact, he just look like a flat out iredeemable pyscho. I think Nolan's really pushing what he can get away with in the franchise for exampleI mean in all fairness Two Face has to look really really messed up, but he could have got away with just having the Joker be a chalk white guy with lipstick. But Nolan didnt want to do that and instead made him a disturbing looking, scarred messed up guy who looks kinda diseased....which I much prefer myself! and I love the idea that he infiltrates a hospital in that nurses uniform with all the makeup still on...its an insight to Mr. J's sense of humour that has never been shown on screen....at least not in live action. It actually leads me to think that the homo-erotic subtext you always had betwen him and Batman in things like Arkham Asylum and The Dark Knight Returns, before Harley was introduced will be amped up (cos of the transsexual elements, also seen in AA)...and no, I dont say this cos Heath was in Brokeback Mountain....

WHY SO SERIOUS!?!?!?

I'm only laughing on the outside...my smile is merely skin deep...if you could see inside, I'm really crying....you might join me for weep!

thanks for being cool dudes.
Stupid old mouse! (Using better one now.)
I'm wondering how close the film will push it to the "R" rating. I know there won't be much sex or cursing, but I can see Joker blowin up, shooting, and cutting lots of people. Tonally as dark as it looks, I wonder if it'll still be PG-13. -

That was supposed to be a link to "Samurai: Wind of Justice", but I guess I fucked it up.
-
That's quite a lot of posts. I may be speaking prematurely, but I think Nolan's Joker is completely apathetic and anarchistic, which to me is the most dangerous combination a person can have. That is what makes murderers. Nicholson's Joker was a bit too narcissistic for me, so he never seemed really that scary. But this Joker, he's the type of guy that would tell you a bad joke right before slitting your throat without even thinking about it. I predict he will start making top movie villain lists very soon.
-
It's an above-average film that can't quite escape the scarring of typical Hollywood-translated comic schlock that has been pushed into our neurons for about a decade.
Therefore it seems great in comparison.
Nolan tries to treat the subject matter seriously, realistically, and with grit but the fusion of comic elements/influences doesn't quite work in some places. I'm sure execs pressured "Action!" to a certain extent, which resulted in flawed compromise.
The casting was great. The League was decent, and understating Ras was smart. The science behind the microwave emitter plot was downright stupid in execution (works on water but not people who are 75% water?. Choreography was going for a "brutal/real fight" angle but should have been tighter as so much is lost. Perhaps Nolan has been given free reign this time and can create a new piece of art rather than something that feels like an imperfect amalgam in places as BB did.
-
LOOKS LIKE SHIT compared to the car-tank in BB. Please, Hollywood, we know vehicles sell toys, but have some dignity and represent Bat-the-MAN foremost. That means giving him gear that is functional. Go ask someone in the REAL US MILITARY for advice before creating something as stupid-looking and vulnerable to fire as a Donut-wheeled TRIKE.
