New IRON MAN Picturerama Spectacular!!

Published at:  Apr 02, 2008 8:54:21 AM CDT

Merrick here...

Superhero Hype has posted some extremely cool images from IRON MAN.

Several of the images feature Iron Man's smackdown with Iron Monger. I'm stoked that Iron Monger is in this movie; I really loved their album "The Number of the Beast" and hope some new & cool music comes out of this.

SEE THE PICTURES HERE!!!

    Iron Man's Breath

    by frodo t. baggins

Is a war machine. Im a comic fan. But I dont really know the background to Iron Monger. Im getting hes JUST a machine? I thought I saw Jeff Bridges load up in Monger in a trailer? The cast is amazing. That Hulk resemblence kicked in a little too late for me to realize. But it makes sense. Everything sounds yippy skippy about the movie right now...But still...Can Fav put it all together? Looks like it...Just hasnt had this kind of background. Regardless I'll be in line in my black Spidey costume. Hopefully the bullys forgot about Spiderman 3 last summer and I wont have to run out of the theatre again like a goalie from europe that missed a goal.

    by frodo t. baggins

What I was seriously hoping for. And the licensing would have been all wrong. But I was hoping at the beggining of Spiderman 3 Spiderman would have been racing around the city with the Human Torch and chit chatting. You know they love to have him spinning around the city and the beggining and at the end. That would have been nice. What reminded me of that was when War Machine helped Spiderman stop Venom with his sound wave blaster. Cant other superhero heroes make cameos in other movies?...oh....wait......*hulk**ironman*

    TDK Joker Pics were Tweaked

    by admiral nelson

Yep, some sort of Photoshop "painterly" effects filter (Sketch?) was run over these images (possibly to hide some steganography embedded in the original images.) Regardless, although I'm looking forward to "Iron Man" (I'm a long-time fan of the comic, and I think it'll be a lot of fun), my most anticipated movie of the year, hands-down, is The Dark Knight. (And yeah, I'm putting it above Indy IV.)

    by kevred

This movie just looks better and better with each glimpse we get of it. The effects look fantastic--so far, a pretty seamless blend of practical and CG (and well-done CG, which is unforgivably rare these days).I think this is the way to do CG. The George Lucas/Van Helsing approach to CG is to basically blow the illusion of reality all to hell right off the bat with outlandish settings and angles, and from that point there's no reeling the viewer back in. This looks like it's putting the effects in a gritty, weighty setting and using light and darkness effectively.Of course, as always, the real measure of the film is how it looks when it's moving and words are coming out of people's mouths. But the stills and footage we've seen so far are pretty much A+ in my book.

I'm afraid you're right Gozu; ol'Shellhead used to draw the big crowd around the TBs but people seem more interested in finding fake Indy titles (which is fun) or flaming poor Speed Racer (which is not) these days.

    by performingmonkey

Everyone is anticipating TDK more than any other movie this year for a myriad of reasons, and rightly so. ALL the ingredients are there for an excellent movie. The Prestige was brilliant. Bale is a master. Ledger, despite the hype overshadowing things somewhat, was still a great actor and this could go down as his greatest role. They DEFINITELY got his Joker look right, and his voice is good to match. The new pics go closer to sealing the deal.

    that is true.

I hope TDK will deliver. I'm not doubting Nolan, but sequels are a whole new territory to him. And god knows how many talented directors fucked up sequels that couldn't, and shouldn't be fucked up.

Iron Man looks ok (controversial decisions aside - for both tone and design), but Favreau still has to earn his cred.

This has gone far enough. I'm am going to keep posting in every talkback about why most of you are ridiculous. First, rent "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints". Second, he CARRIED Transformers and Disturbia. Disturbia made $80 mil domestically. Think about that. Substitute anyone in that role and it is unwatchable. Finally, he has one second of dialogue in that spot and you can tell it's good. So stop, it's desperate.

    by max314

I think it will be a fun Summer flick, but judging by the writers' credentials (they were only lower level co-writers on 'Children of Men', and the rest of their work is really quite poor), I doubt this will be a truly "great" movie.Still, at least it looks pretty. And funny. In fact, it looks pretty funny. So that's good.

I really, really don't get why anyone thought BB was any good at all? It tried too hard and failed on every level. I like Christian Bale but his Batman was terrible. He could not have sounded dumber trying to talk all dark and mysterious as Batman. Dumb, Dumb. There are a large number of people now that are starting to look back at it and see it for what it was, a bad movie. I will not be there to see The Dark Nut, nor will I rent it. However Iron Man looks fun and does not seem to be taking itself to seriously for a "comic book" movie.

I don't think Ironman will beat TDK at the box office

    by series7

I just don't. The only way it will, is if TDK ends up a R. Though I am glad the pictures are down. I am done looking into anything about these two movies. Especially with TDK photos released today. Otherwise I will hype it too much in my head and be let down. I hope Ironman turns out good, but too much of the trailer reminds of the first Hulk Trailers.

I'm not sold on the humor yet

    by spencertrilby

I mean - unless Favreau creates a precedent with his movie - humor is kind of uncalled for when you're dealing with characters like Iron Man that need so few suspension of disbelief. it's not as if he was bitten by a radioactive spider.

It seems like they don't take it seriously, so why the audience would? I hope the story is catchy enough to make up for it. Fingers crossed.

Ironman will wipe the floor with TDK...

even with that shitty tank fight sequence someone ripped from a cheap video game. Please let that be fixed before it's released.

Ironman beat TDK???? Lay off the crack pipe!

Ironman is at best the #3 movie of the summer, after TDK and Indy 4.
