Stan Lee & Disney Forming 3 New Projects!!
Merrick here...
Stan Lee is cobbling together three projects for Disney, to be produced via his POW! Entertainment banner.
Richard LaGravenese (who write THE FISHER KING and P.S. I LOVE YOU) will script and direct the private eye saga NICK RATCHET.
Gary Goldman (NEXT, he also worked on drafts of projects like TOTAL RECALL and the pre-W.D. Richter retrofit of BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA...it was originally a Western) is writing BLAZE.
TIGRESS, whose title may change, is being developed by Zoe Green. It...
follows a woman who starts getting tiger-like instincts
...says THIS ARTICLE in Hollywood Reporter.
All of the projects are being eyed as franchise starters, all of them rise from ideas generated by Lee.
I hope these turn out better than Lee's knock-off stuff on the Sci Fi Channel. They almost have to, don't they?

This should be fun.

isnt that a justice league unlimited character?
-
I know that doesn't have anything to do with this article, I just felt like saying it.

"I hope these turn out better than Lee's knock-off projects for the Sci Fi Channel. They almost have to, don't they?"
One would think!
That is all. Roger;out! -
Once he's in, he'll never leave. Never, I tells ya! Never!
-
A revised Fantastic Four with Goofy, Micky, Nick Fury and the Get-Er-Done Guy (he seemed like a nice addition). Hulk feeling quesy must smash.
-
in the least bit. tigress? yea, i liked it better the first time when they called it catwoman. actually, it sucked then, too. stan... let's call it day, shall we? you're done.

Being a loud, obnoxious self-promoting derivative hack is kind of talent.
-
Stan Lee rehashing failed superhero ideas in Disney movies? Fied box-office gold. Not.
-
him needing some editor.
-
The whole reason behind Marvel's ULTIMATE series is to erase the amazingly stupid storylines that Stan Lee drummed up in his moderately talented head.
-
Leave all the creative stuff to just about anyone else.
Wood shavings! -
No, Mr. Sinister. Stan Lee WAS a genius. Nowadays, he's just a doddering embarrasment that should be kept away - far, far away - from any project requiring creative input. Trot him out for conventions. Do the odd signing. Let him go on and on about the glory days. But any "creative" works that you actually hope someday for people to pay good money to consume - yeah, no. Not from Stan.
-
Stan Lee was instrumental in creating some of the best and most original characters in the comic book history. He is one of the founding fathers of the Marvel universe and a living legend. While everyone has experienced failures, few experience his kind of success and fewer still are able to stay in the game and keep swinging for the fences. The lack of respect you expressed for Lee shows an incredible lack of appreciation for his contributions and reflects poorly upon those commentators.
-
She would be starring in porno films right now if it weren't for the Disney gravy train.
-
that no one from this site has posted anything about the Clown Travel Agency website from the Dark Knight viral campaign that they teased us with the other day. You can find all the details at this site. http://tinyurl.com/yslcna

There's a nice big fat link just a few stories down all about that site and the talkback is all about the bowling ball and the Gordon call. Your powers of observation are weak. Unless you're just shilling for your crappy site.

Has Stan Lee done anything in the past thirty years worthwhile?
by critch
Seriously, the last story he wrote for Marvel recently was borderline unreadable, his original stuff is crap at best, and there's a lot of stories around there about how he just took other creators ideas and used them for his own.
Just keep him for those cameos and leave the rest of us alone. We don't need any more 'Sky High'. -
WHOA i'm a genius. I want my movie check!!
-
you can have that one for free.
-
because they believe he is part of the whole marvel selling out thing. that they should have stuck to making, producing and publishing comic books and the day they entered the film business was the day the sold out many felt.

Face it, Stan Lee's multimedia projects always suck ass...
by sledge hammer
...it's a shame, and hey, I dig Stan The Man as much as the next guy, but he really hasn't contributed anything of worth, other than just being Stan Lee, in decades. This will be no different.
-
Americans spell cheque as check, it's just one of the things they do. So if you're going to try and correct someone best get your own shit straight first.
-
and that's alright. He's like everyone's horny old grandpa. If people wanna give him money to create stuff like Stripperella that's cool too.
-
I'm taking that.
-
not recognizing it's right to exist. Viva America!!!!!
-
he blew his load in the 50's and 60's...'Nuff said!
-
Is one of the shittiest writers in Hollywood. Guaranteed Blaze will suck, unless his draft is passed on to 8 other writers before it hits the screen.
-
"is being developed by Zoe Green. It...
follows a woman who starts getting tiger-like instincts"
She starts maiming men and carrying them around by gripping their necks in her mouth? -
Dude, this guy pisses on all you hacks. He's a god!!! I feel sorry for him too. He lost his son and his grandson while they were filming martial arts films.
-
Dude, Bigger Bang was a sweet album.
Oh, and Gary Oldman hasn't written a decent comic in years. -
Tigresses are wonderful things...
Their heads are made out of rubber
Their bottoms are made out of springs
They are bouncy, trouncy, bouncy, trouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun
The wonderful thing about Tigresses is, I hope this is the only one. -
AICN is an American site. You are an English douchebag.
-
What is up with that???
-
Excelsior!
-
This'll be the shit!

Best. Disney. Movie. Ever.

Overrated hacks who took credit for the work of others and lived a media-created lie.
-
I'm not going to pile on like some people, but I think it is clear that some of Stan Lee's best work has clearly been in partnership with folks like Ditko and Kirby. I don't think there's any shame in that, but clearly it would help to have Lee collaborate with other creators again (or who knows, maybe these things like Stripperella and the 7th Portal have been collaborations and aren't solely from the mind of Stan Lee). Either way, do something different,....
-
And still no pass of the talkbacks? What does someone have to do to get a free ride around here? Oh well, a guess your only as good as the last shit you slapped your name on. Good luck to guys like Stan Lee and George A Romero, There's something to be said for being old school.
-
Stan Freaking Lee couldn't get the rights to Marvel's Tigra?
-
No, not old ones from the '40s. "The Last Fantastic Four Story" and "The Lost Fantastic Four Story". Both reunited The Man with his - and The King's - greatest creation.Sadly, Stan has not had a great track record since stepping down as Marvel Editor In Chief. That DC "What if Stan Lee Created" stuff, Stripperella, "Who Wants To Be A Super-Hero?". Props for creating She-Hulk, but let's not talk about Night-Cat and Solarman. At one time I thought he was the greatest writer on Earth, but I was 13 years old at the time. Since we learned that "Marvel Style" meant the artists plotted and paced the stories and he filled the word balloons on the finished art. Still, to oversee and script FF, Spider-man, Thor, Iron Man, Sub-Mariner, Captain-America, Daredevli, X-Men and The Avengers at the same time and get them all out on schedule... WITH a friendly letters page and the Bullpen Bulletins page in each issue, yeah, I'm still impressed. You create something like that and then criticize him for getting old.
-
He may not have done as much as claims to have, but he still clearly achieved more in just a few years than everyone on this TB ever has put together, in their entire lives - otherwise we wouldn't be on this site right now, and would be getting on with creating our own culture difining icons. Although all the POW stuff does suck ass, admittedly.
-
Screw the Stan haters. Excelsior!
-
We're simply point out, quite fairly, that he's over hyped and over rated. The ULTIMATES line was created because his stories, INCLUDING MANY ORIGIN STORIES, were just silly at best, and laughable at worst. He's famous now because he stumbled upon an industry whose icons were Sad Sack and Little Dot.
-
Go on, Stan! Dust the mothballs off Greer Nelson and make a movie. It can't be any worse than Elektra, can it?
-
Just starts getting bored with pretending to do something in his movies (guy not paying attention crossing the street, guy mowing yard) and either just pops up and says "HEY I AM STAN LEE AND YOUR NOT! ENJOY MY CREATION!" or just starts doing shit that has nothing at all to do with the scene, like just eating a dead body or punching some kid in the face. I mean why not, he is getting paid either way and the movie will make money no matter what he does. Still can't believe Steven King didn't appear in the Mist. I think King and Lee should work on something together and also make cameos in each others movies for the hell of it.
-
who contributed so much to Marvel (it was his idea for iconic characters like Silver surfer,Black Panther and even..*gasps* Spiderman) Lee took most of the credit and Kirby..well we all know the story.Lee had some good stories during Marvel's Golden age and that's it.
