OFFICE!! GALACTICA!! LOST!! HOUSE!! WHO!! LEGAL!! REAL!! April Return Dates!!

Published at:  Apr 01, 2008 2:19:20 AM CDT

I am – Hercules!!

The bad news is it looks increasingly likely that the Screen Actors Guild is going to strike this summer, which would delay indefinitely the coming fall TV season.

The good news is most of the teleplays written subsequent to the writers' strike have been shot and are hitting America's airwaves starting this month!

    by inwosuxred

Who really starts this weekend, and I can't wait for scifi to get their shit together. At least they're airing them in the same year. Maybe they can figure out a way to coordinate the movie/special things with BBC and air them on the same fucking day so their investment doesn't evaporate before they even air an episode. At least air them on the same week. You'd think a channel called sci-fi would have heard of the internet by now.

    BSG's final 10?

    by coachaaron

have we even got confirmation that the last 10 episodes will be shot? i don't remember.

sci-fi is still giving this show no chance to be successful by putting it back on friday nights. i bet they're trying to justify not producing the tail end of the final season.

if this is true, i'll NEVER EVER watch sci-fi again.

    Another strike?

    by nabster

If it causes another round of delays, it could be the death of a lot of American TV shows. There is no way interest won't start to dissappear for many of these shows. Journey Man is done and dusted. The two shows I am hurting for is 24, and Lost. Man the fans have been treated to a shitty tv schedule this year. Definetly going to let Lost have its full run before I tune back in, hate these goddamned breaks, they promised us last year there would be no breaks, so ofcourse there had to be a break.

    by turketron

I wish it was on Sunday nights instead, but that's what torrents are for. Friday night is hell for TV. Are they really only going to show 10 episodes, then take another year long break? FUCK!I'll be glad when Lost comes back too. I'm guessing The Shield returns in May?

    by obsd

Actually, I believe Reaper has been working through the backlog for the last few weeks. If you noticed, they had both Christmas decorations and Valentine's decorations up at The Work Bench this past month, meaning that those episodes aired a bit late. They were probabally already shot, then put on hold until after the writer's strike. The "NEW" (meaning post-writer's strike) episodes start on APRIL 22nd. I am also quite enjoying Marino & Black and I hope they stay on for a while! Or at least until the CW cancels it. Of all of the "Slacker-gets-superpowers" shows (Chuck, Bionic Woman, Reaper) that have aired this season, Reaper is the only one that is any good at all. In fact, I would go so far as to say it's the only one that could be worthy enough to carry the "Buffy" mantle. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Herc!

Bring Back Cancelled Shows During The Strike!!

    by hagakure

If I have a choice between watching umpteen reruns or watching something new, I would rather watch, from the beginning, some of the shows that got cancelled. Personally, I would love to see the full six episodes of 'Drive' that were filmed but never aired. There are all these shows that had six episodes filmed that no one ever sees. Maybe airing them during the strike would prompt some interest to pick them up again. If nothing else, it is something different. It is getting harder and harder to remember a time when, god forbid, every week brought a new show for an entire season, and that was the norm. Now you have shows advertising the hell out of "events" like 'NEW EPISODES FOR THE NEXT FIVE WEEKS!'

Are currently in production. Last I heard, they were shooting episode 14. Plan at this point is for the final 10 eps to begin airing in January of '09, which will probably get pushed further. (Season 4 was originally slated to begin in January '08).
At least the "Caprica" prequel pilot has been given a greenlight.

This season will have Martha, Daleks, Sontarans, Possibly Davros, Possibly John Simm as the Master coming back, Captain Jack, Sarah Jane, ROSE, and anyone who's watched the trailers for this season can plainly see that Tate is taking things a bit more seriously this time out.

The rumors are that this might be Tennant and Davies swan song, and they haven't disappointed yet, I'm sure they're not going to go out with anything less than a bang.

    Earl is NBC's bitch

    by big jim

NBC always has one show, their bitch, that they force guest-star after lame guest star to appear. It's the only way NBC's marketing department knows how to promote a show. If they can't throw the name of some pseudo-celebrity up front on the promos, they don't have a clue how to promote the show. NBC's bitch used to be Will & Grace, and before that Friends, but now they are gone, Earl has stepped up to degrade itself by allowing the NBC execs. to force "names" to appear on the show. This week on My Name is Earl: Paris Hilton. I rest my case.

We get Doctor Who, Sarah Jane, and BSG on the same night?!?!?!?!?! I'm in!!On the issue of Tennant leaving, there was a report a few months ago saying Tennant is doing a play later this year and into next year. According to the report, they may do an abbrivated season/series in 2009, as in 2 or 3 two-hour specials. For 2010, back to doing a full 13 episode run, and maybe even have a new showrunner in place.-----later-----m

    by crichtonastronut

Adventures sounds pretty cool too. Loving what they've done with Torchwood this season. I'd be sad to see either Tennant or Davies go, though Moffet exec producing Dr. Who would be awesome. Not that Davies hasn't done brilliantly, but Moffat spins gold with every episode he's written and obviously loves the Who mythos and history. So that would be pretty awesome to give him the reigns, without Moffat though I'd leave it in Davies hands.

BTW the Bank Holiday Special refers to Christmas, New Years and other Holidays that Banks close down on. They'd say national Holidays but their marketing the show outside their country.
