This is footage of a strange man named BRUNO - that there's a documentary about... following him around. I don't see what makes him so interesting. He reminds me of this Uncle I had as a kid. Sorry but have to say thats simply not true. Borat was a big pile of shit that some how managed to convince people it was cool.. and of course once a few people started saying it was cool everyone jumps on the bandwagon. it's shit. It worked really well when he used Borat on the Ali G show... 8 YEARS AGO! it worked as a five minute section the movie was a mess. Oh and Bruno first appeared in 2003 and he never worked not even in a ten minute section! He's a genius.. really. actually i'm going to go one further and suggest "I kick tits" is a bit of a dumb ass

Easily my favourite character from the US series...dancing with the cheerleaders at the football? getting college jerkoffs to show their asses to Austrian gay TV? priceless and easily as good as Borat's best moments.

Was when he interviewed a guy at a rodeo. He kept calling the man gay and that it was okay to come out. The guy finally had enough and told him if he calls him gay again he was going to knock his teeth down his throat. I t was the only time I had ever seen Cohen completely flustered and a little scared. That quickly ended the interview.

Whether it's in the world of comedy or not is debateable, but there isn't a single other person doing things the edgy for a higher purpose. And not since the heyday Mel Brooks has anyone been doing it in the mainstream. If you don't see the purpose then watch the show which exposes bigotry so brilliantly that it will shame you as you laugh uncontrollably. Borat wasn't a perfect film (far too much script getting in the way of improvised interactions) but it was a damn good start and hopefully with Bruno he will rectify that. And Bruno is every bit as brilliant as Borat and often covers even MORE ground when it comes to exposing bigotry. Watch him interview the priest (Unt Nische Nichse), stand on the sidelines as a cheerleader at a college football game, or interview incredibly stupid frat boys on spring break, all of it equal parts funny and scary in what it says about us. Not to mention exposing the obvious vapidity of the fashion world. Cohen was also the best thing in the overly dour and passionless Sweeney Todd.

I love when he went to the fashion show and snuck onto the stage. Also liked the one where he went to the gayest place in America...ALABAMA! Bruno takes way more balls. People had a tolerance for Borat, as a mixed up foreign man. Hick Americans don't tolerate being called gay nearly as well and there was almost always a very real sense of danger that someone might kick Sasha's ass when he was doing Bruno. Even with bad reviews, I'm going to pay to see this just based on the character from the show and the previous movie both kicking ass.

He was at a gunshow, not a rodeo, when the guy threatened to punch his teeth out. A fucking gunshow in Alabama. Jesus Christ.
Also, Indahouse was primarily the director Mark Mylod's fault (referred to as "Mark Gaylord" on the commentary with Cohen and Martin Freeman). Also on the commentary, Cohen talks about how he had written a satire of sorts but this guy Mylod comes along and turns it into this broad comedy. Cohen basically apologized for the movie. To see what I mean, watch the stupid-ass "This is How We Do It" music thing at the end. Or Ali G licking the cracker like it's a pussy. Those were Mylod's ideas of something funny. Fuck Mark Mylod for ruining what could have been a much better movie than Borat. -
I just remembered...He was saying that firearms have become the number one leisure activity for gays and was only implying the guy he was talking to was gay. He never came out (pun intended) and said it.

I had said previously that he wasn't a genius i was of course talking about genius in the comedy sense. I would like to say i'm not trying to say he's compleletly shit i just dont think it would be right to true comedy genius's to give him that title so quickly. Ok i liked Borat on T.V hated the movie never liked bruno thought it was steryotypical and uninspired, loved Ali G, again o T.V, film was shit. Now even if you think i'm talking shit, and god knows i do talk shit alot of the time, and love these characters in all there outings, is it not a bit soon to call the guy a genius? i mean think about it all three characters basically do the same thing! seriously he goes around fooling people yeah thats funny ok ha ha, but how about breaking away from the same premise. Sure loads of people make a good living out of doing the same shit but we'd hardly call them genius's would we? i just think he's got such a buzz about him people are saying stuff that they may look back on in a few years if he hasn't managed to do anything different and knew and say "ok maybe genius was a bit strong"!

British Ali G, HBO Ali G and Borat: The Movie are all funny to me. But...the only real "brilliance" is when Cohen goes after the closed-minded and exposes them for what they are, like the homophobic fratboys and the racist rodeo guy. When he interacts with a normal person who's doing their best to be polite, there's something dirty about it. I laugh, perhaps, but feel bad for the people who aren't in on the joke. Hopefully Bruno interacts with the former more than the latter - which shouldn't be hard, due to the insane ammount of homophobia in America.
