Maybe.
-
SCULLY!!!!
-
At least the music is back
-
I can't find myself getting excited for this. I liked the early seasons of the show and it should've ended about 3 seasons earlier than it did.
-
with the aliens in it
-
and i will be so fucking stoned
-
JESUS!!
-
apparently apparently.
-
This summer is shaping up to be really exciting. Iron Man, Batman, Speed Racer, Indy, Caspian and now this!!!
-
Lame trailer. The X-Files isn't in the Bourne series -- don't make it out to be.
-
my brain skipped right right over that.
-
Great placement with the first strains of the X-Files theme in the middle of the trailer.
-
This movie wasn't made for you chumps in the first place.

Has anyone figured out if that Russian hikers story...
by rev_skarekroe
...was a viral hoax tying into this film?
-
I'll be first in line.
-
now that its official this takes place after the show, i wonder if the movie will end with the x-files unit reactivated once again? i mean we know the FBI gets involved so its possible. and of course this would made the 3rd movie (should it be made) even more x-files-ish. either way, i'm glad its finally coming. now let's use this opportunity to release the first movie on blu-ray with a shitload of extras. :)
-
Yes, cannot wait! Love me some X-Files... downright one of the best shows EVER!
-
Might prevent it from being a Big Yawn.
-
I miss Mulder and Scully. One of the best show ever. Terrible series ending however.
I'd love to have this come back to television...it'll never happen.
Movie will be the bomb!!! -

I would love it if the Lone Gunmen reappeared, with only a vague reference to them having died on the show. Talk about a retcon!
-
it cracks me up when gothic choir music is used in a trailer when the footage is less than epic, it just looks cheesey.
-
if Carter had stopped with the bullshit conspiracy story arch we could have had a bunch of stand alone stuff.
-
my old friends. That trailer just gave me a boner. I hope Dogget is in this, though.
-
Too bad they didn't film two more back-to-back.
-
Fucking work and it's blocked youtube access. Ah well. Maybe they can also bring back the Cigarette Smoking Man, as an alien clone of course.
-
...and EVERYBODY was ready for it. Seriously. They showed the trailer twice, and the second time -- looking out over the audience -- everybody had their camera out and was filming it. If this link goes down, just check youtube -- I bet there'll be 20 more vids just like it.
And to the person who wrote 'what's with all the running' I want to know -- what's with all the falling down? It's all Billy Connolly seems to be doing... -
...just as a reaction to the trailer, I don't like how much it appears to be about Billy Connolly. Actually got kind of tired of watching him and that Brent-Spiner-Independence-Day hair, even though it was only a few seconds. Also, I worry that the "epic" scale could distract from the characters we've been waiting so long to see.Don't want to complain too much, though--that's just my initial "focus group" response to this specific trailer.I'm just glad this movie is coming, and I will be seeing it for sure!
-
shame the theme tune now makes me cringe. it used to sound cool, now its been spoofed so much it just sounds cheesy. reminds me more of the simpsons xfiles episode than any of my actual xfiles memories.
-
justifies the big screen. I don't want just a long tv episode. I'll wait for the DVD for that. But glad to see Anderson and Duchovney back in the roles that made them famous.
-
but that's Billy's hair, he's always had that look. Is it the Big Yin's fault Brent Spiner had a smiliar look in ID4? You can't change the Big Yin, he's the damn Big Yin! Looking forward to this but only because... the trailer neither added to nor took away from my anticipation. I abandoned X-Files the TV show after season 3 but i really enjoy seasons 1 and parts of two and three and the first movie so i'll be there for this first weekend. The audience is out there!
-
How can this movie make money without some CW Faces in there?! I mean, ADULTS in a scary movie? Is that allowed in Hollywood anymore? Heh.
-

What about Robert Patrick, Annabel Gish, & Mulder/Skully kid?
by donkingkong
You know, the characters that came in when the series "jumped the shark", are they gonna be mentioned in the movie, or are we just supposed to forget about those characters? Oh and where did Mulder disappear to? Hopefully these loose ends are attended to. I love X-Files but admittedly I stopped watching right about the time Duchovny left the show, so they might have explained those things away in the later episodes.
-
My god did I laugh at that Brunomac. Excellent point also. Its going to be nice to see a scary movie without teens. Fucking kids. I dont care how it happens Im just glad to see X-Files again. But like many others, Im afraid of a 2 hour tv show. Hope they put some good fx in there. Or good score. Maybe answer 1 or 2 things for the die hards. We all know by now that they suck face. Which is I guess kinda what we are looking for. I like the Alien-Govt. Epic stuff more. But like I said. Just good to see them together again. Id love to eat Scullys red dirt box for one. Lets hope Moulder gets a nice ROMP with her as well.
-
Come on, are you expecting this to truly be "epic"? This is a MOTW movie, with more focus on the characters. If they did a mytharc movie, well that would be epic almost by definition. It was smart for Carter & Co. to decide to go standalone, because that helps them stay away from the huge scope of stories that always dwarfed the more human stories. I think this will be a nice horror story with established characters we already know and feel for. Could it suck? Sure. But it has less of a chance of sucking with the route they chose.
-
:( I hope I don't have to wait long for the official quality trailer.
-
I want the movie to make $$$ so we get more X-Files. You are right it should be more character and so forth and Im fine with that. Im going to see it I know that. You are also right that we already care for the characters. Its just that when I havent seem them for so long I want to get some tears when ones in trouble for whatever reason or the first time they talk to each other I guess like in the trailer. I dunno well see. I hope it does well but I still am VERY surprised they went this route after such a long absense. You would think they would come back guns ah blazzin. But again, havent seen the movie.
-
they decide on a title.
it would seem kind of cheesy to post it but just say "X-Files Sequel" or "X-Files 2: TBD" -
...but with all the snow shots, it looks a lot like the first X-Files movie.
-
Boy, they sure do get around.
-
Sorry. I've always hated this show.
-
Man, that is some out-of-place casting...
-
we fear the man
-
a whole few hours - bring on the Quicktime
-
...it will be the last shot Chris Carter will ever get. I still consider myself a fan of the show, but Carter and Spotnitz completely wrecked the mythology after the 1st movie. Maybe it's good that this movie will be a standalone story.
-
Man i can't wait for this.
-
Hopefully this will lead to 4 or 5 sequels
-
its tv/movies, its sc-fi so i guess they could always find a way or reason to bring him back but last we saw him in the series finale, he got blowed up. they even went as far as showing the fireball reducing him to a skeleton so reincarnation/cloning aside, i think he's gone and as much as i love the character, it be stupid to bring him back after that.
-
the series ended w/Mulder & Scully on the run from the government, their child placed into adoption, CSM & The Lone Gunmen dead...how the hell exactly do they make this work again? And where the hell is Skinner? I was a fan of the show from day one & was more loyal to it than Duchovony...I mean, he left the series TWICE for fuck's sake! I look forward to the new movie but @ the same time don't fully get how they're gonna pull it off w/o shit-canning everything they did the last 2 or 3 years of the show. Instead of Fox & Carter kidding themselves that after all this time they can turn this show into a huge tent-pole-summer-popcorn franchise a la PIRATES or SPIDER-MAN, why not just concentrate on making a series of good quality, low-budget thillers for the fans? Fuck worrying about the general audience...'cuz let's face it, unless Gillian & David do THE XXX FILES in this, you're not grossing over a 100 million the first weekend anyway!
-
aren't they out there... on the interwebs?
-
they made this a stand alone. That last "movie" sucked ass.
-
Thanks for the end-of-series breakdown Master Bruce, but seriously what happened with Robert Patrick & Annabel Gishs' charcters? You're not gonna make me go do a wiki search are you? Trying to work here!
-
Calm down dude. ;)
-
Between Heath Ledger and Heath Ledger jokers?
Ones going to get old. -
During the paleyfest panel, Mitch made jokes about not being contacted/included in the movie. So unless he's spreading FUD, there is no Walter Skinner in the movie.
-
It's been awhile, but didn't The Lone Gunmen show up in the bushes towards the end of the series finale when Mulder went to take a leak? Also, anyone who thinks that the CSM is dead, fireballed skeleton and all, was not paying attention to all the cloning and shape-shifting that was going on in this show. I mean, wasn't Mulder once eaten and regurgitated back into form? That and found dead at sea, then buried, then reanimated months later. Jeez, I can't even remember what the cockamamy explanation for that one was.
-
have some respect, you vaginal blood zit
-
It was obvious they were only in Mulder imagination as he was seeing dead people talking to him that entire two-part finale. I agree with the poster above: how they write their way out of that and into a MOTW flick is dubious at best--plus it was made very clear that the date for the final alien invasion is in 2012 and Mulder was wanted dead by every government agency in the world.
-
Found another one, probably wont be up long: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeUtHxIWl1w
-
were "ghosts" if you can wrap your brain around that or why, alive or dead the Krychek character would help Mulder. I think killing too many people off is what weakened the mythology. Too many of the good ones I mean. It started when the syndicate was fried. People were dropping like flies. Mulder's mother even killed herself. I would like to know what happened to Dogget and Skinner in the five or so years but the rest of them I don't care too much. It's a shame they probably won't show up at all.
-
take out the space in the URL.
-
I put movie in quotations because I felt the last one was a stretched hour long episode shown on the big screen. Don't get me wrong, I loved the first three seasons of the show. But the first movie was a let down.
-
Carter actually said he wanted to do that in one of those youtube videos. If that happens I hope it ends there. Another reason why the mythology weakened was the constant need to milk this series for all it's worth. A lot of the big season finales were even thought to be the "final episode" but it continued on so now they leave loose ends expecting to pick it up later. Incidentally it sure took them a loooong time to get the permission to start making movies at all and if this bombs it could probably be the last.
-
...that this won't be a stinker. But I gotta think X-files is past the hey-day to make the most at the box office. Heck, they'd probably do better making the LOST finale into a 2-hour theatrical release these days.
-
....THERE WAS A FIRE-FIGHT!
-
and a buck short. Trailer has already been removed! :(
-
... a new one is already up:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeUtHxIWl1w -
Very interesting...
-
Ugh...I'm so sick of seeing shaky cam, piss-poor out-of-focus home videos of trailers that will appear in HD in a short while anyways. Makes it harder to appreciate the full reveal.
-
"let's just say I'm one of them"
that's what it sounded like to me. Looks cool. And Dead Heath Ledger jokes-hey, go ahead. Free country. I mean, I'm not horribly offended, but I feel bad for you cause you clearly were raised by idiots. And the other thing, the jokes weren't funny. None of 'em. Comedy is about timing, son...and you have none. -
A nod to his UFO poster.

Oh, and the ghosts or hallucinations of the last show...
by hank henshaw
the craziest one was dead Mr. X handing Mulder a piece of paper. I'd love someone trying to explain that one. That series finale was just a mess.
-
...ever.
-
FUCK IT.
-
The most over-rated make-it-up-as-you-go popular TV series ever. The most over-rated fan-boy monkey-spanking babe ever. And the last movie was almost The Phantom Menace levels of anti climax. basically this show was never movie material, they didn't even have 3 seasons of solid meaningful material let alone two movies worth! Definitely a die-hard fan-boy weekend flick, it'll blow its wad early and die quicker than a fish out of water which is what it'll seem like next to the likes of this summers genuine potential blockbusters. $70 million max, if they're lucky!
-
You people are sick and twisted. I've been reading these threads and not answering for longer than i can remember. Between the dickblood, tits and heath ledger comments - I've had enough. This site is bullshit, the reviews are bullshit and I'm fucking done with this site - it's littered with juveniles and trolls. The credibility of ainitcool isn't what it used to be around 10 years ago. So does anyone have a link to the trailer or not??? God bless you all. So say we all. I don't believe. I believe. Never put salt in your eyes.
-
so do ya have a link to the trailer??? i miss the conspiracy episodes. and coop eating is cherry pie....isn't californication amazing?!
-
No matter how much we loved Mulder and Scully--and love them we did--what gave the show depth was the sense of an ensemble. Pileggi was crucial to the show's tension. And I was *pissed* off when Duchovny left, but Patrick completely won me over as Doggett and made me want to watch the show again in a new way. Here's my hope that they'll be the surprise gift in this movie, or in the next one...
-
My earlier comment might have made it seem so, but I don't. I like him, actually. It's just that, after all these years, I didn't want my first glimpse of the X-Files to be dominated by a ridiculous-looking set piece (was that a Glass Tiger video?) with old Bill crawling around. And he may have had that hair for a while, but not always. I remember that silly sitcom he starred in many years back (played a teacher) and he had much shorter hair.
-
And I still want to see a Millennium movie, damn it!
-
Bollocks. I was looking forward to that. First one looked awesome. Still, I'd beat an old lady with a tire-iron to see this now.
-
that means you are a homosexual. that is all.
-
Hardly. It means I have standards. That is all. Never have liked the character, or the actress. If there are those out there who get their jollys over this woman, then have fun.

Thanks, Biggles.
-
Thanks for un-DAMNING me.
-
I'm not going to waste my time hurling insults at you but rather ask, in a civil tone, that you show some class. I understand your antics are all about getting a reaction and you've gotten it so move on. Pretty please.
-
I didn't pay attention to the time posted. Regardless, your comments were tacky; Absolutely no need for them.
-
Come on, I can't belive anyone would issue a trailer with nothing in it, some shots of Scully turning around to give the feeling a lot is happening in this TV movie for theaters, some guys wanking in the snow, Mulder making a pun about the truth... this is obviously a trailers made for the nerds to scream at the end of the emptiness, there's not one single exciting shot in this trailer. This X Files thing is old and needs to stop, or be rebooted with more emphasis on Gillian Anderson breasts. And lots of SEX, VIOLENCE, SHOOTINGS, Explosions, you know, some heterosexual entertainment rather than some asexual one for an asexual audience.
