They lost me when they suddenly made Buffy Bi. That made no sense and was shock for shock factors sake. Not needed. Angel's doing a better job in the comics much like it did on TV. Wesley is back as a ghost and all is right with the world.

Maybe Buffy will use the Slayer Axe on Fray as a dildo, cause that would be a surprise shock too wouldn't it?

    WTF Whedon?

    by bouncy x

you'd be surprised or maybe not but....many people, young teen girls especially are "going bi" a lot these days. now its not always necessarily full on, where it becomes their sexual preference to prefer both, but many experiment for a while, even years before moving on. now granted Buffy isnt a teenage girl anymore but its not that inconceivable that a straight woman would suddenly do thos sorta stuff, especially in this day and age. But anyway, Fray is back...cool...but so what, she goes back in time? or does Buffy go forward? hmmmm

Unfortunately I stopped readng the comics midway through the Fath arc. Not due to quality or anyhing, just because I lived in the sticks and it was just getting to be too difficult to pick up comics frequently but this may get me back into the swing of things. Fray still remains one of my favorite comic miniseries of all time. Although the whole lesbian arc is still making me weary.

    by brians life

Was talking about this w/ a few friends yesterday (yes, me and my male friends talk about Buffy).I gotta say, I think her sleeping sit Satsu is pretty stupid. I mean in seven seasons Buffy has never been depicted as some one at all confused about her sexuality or even the type of girl that WOULD simply experiment. I also think that it flies in the face of the character they've been telling us we've got in Season 8. Add that to the fact that Willow is gay already...just seems kinda lazy. Meh.

For me, there would be no better Little Bad than to discover that the US government has contracted with Riley Finn and his new wife to infiltrate their camp and destroy them from within. Which, of course, leads into the Big Bad who is revealed to be... well, that would be telling. :)

ah, the usual level of deep discourse

    by oisin5199

on the Buffy comics talkbacks. It's truly a sign of the impatient internet culture when people bitch because news like this is 'old.' Not everybody knew, and you know what, that's not even the point. The point is that you've been provided a talkback to discuss it. Or you can use it to make annoying comments about the site, or sly cracks about cunnilingus and bisexuality that really aren't as clever as you'd think. I agree the bi-scene was somewhat out of character, but that's kind of the point - she was so lonely and isolated that she would go there - she never had a girl so into her before(plus the whole 'true love' spell probably made her think) so she experimented. But as someone mentioned, the comic (like the show would have done) immediately defused that situation by revealing it to everyone immdediately and all together. Totally hilarious. Can't wait to see Xander and Willow's continued reaction. Oh, and I loved that tease with Twilight about to lift his mask at the end of the page and on the next, he's just scratching his neck. Psyche! Way to play with the expectations of the medium.

Buffy Gay = Flames on Prime

    by angelus_420

I didn't mind the flames but I hate the gay Buffy. Not only are lines AGAIN regurated from the original series but it changes who Buffy is and I for one hate it.

People just don't wake up and decide they are gay and it makes no sense that Buffy would.

I'm not a homophobe or anything like that I just think its way too gimmicky and there is no need.

However Buffy vs Fray could be really cool.

Lost interest in Buffy and Angel well before their final seasons, and I could care less about another trip to these ever drying wells, but I dug dug dug Fray, and would love to see that simply get a "season two."

except for, you know, it wasn't. Anybody who makes that idiotic statement obviously never paid attention. I guarantee you 10 years from now, people will still be talking about Buffy. And NO ONE will be talking about Torchwood. I'm not saying it's a bad show (though I still haven't gotten to it yet), but it will never have the iconic quality and uniqueness that was Buffy.

    second the Torchwood...

    by blue1622

was Buffy a good show? I dunno, maybe...never watched it. I do know that Carnivale was a GREAT show, and if I kept flogging it, years after it's over and done - like it's relevant or newsworthy, I'd deserve some of the shit being spoken of me, here. It wouldn't detract from Carnivale's greatness, but it would call in to question my competency when it comes to running a tv news site, when I choose to ceaselessly plug an inert franchise, at the expense of ongoing greatness like Dexter, Doctor Who, Torchwood, and The Shield. Will anyone be talking about Torchwood in 10 years? I wouldn't presume to say...but I do know there are many who'd enjoy discussing it here, and are forced to go elsewhere.
