A Few Behind The Scenes LAND OF THE LOST Photos Slip Onto The Internets!!

Published at:  Mar 26, 2008 8:21:37 AM CDT

Merrick here...

JFX has posted a few spy photos from the LAND OF THE LOST movie.

Not much to see, unfortunately. No Chakas, no Sleestacks, no dinos, no Anna Friel. Just Will Ferrell (in his park ranger garb) and some elephants.

You can see them...

HERE!!!

Sniffing around the film's tech credits on IMDB, I noticed two tech credits of interest that I don't think have been reported widely: LAND OF THE LOST's Director of Photography is Dion Beebe, who recently shot Michael Mann's COLLATERAL and MIAMI VICE. And, its score is by the mega-awesome Michael Giacchino (RATATOUILLE, THE INCREDIBLES, Abrams' STAR TREK, and several MEDAL OF HONOR games are among his many credits).

So, even if the movie blows...hopefully it'll have an interesting look and cool score.

I am tired of Will Farrel's lousy shtick. What a shame this wasn't handled seriously. Looks like a worthy succesor to the George of the Jungle movies.

In Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Will Farrell played a character named Marshall Willnholly. Spooooky.

I'm a huge fan of the original 70's Krofft show...I hope this isn't "Bewitched" (or that kid's soccer movie) Will Ferrell but rather the surreal, R-rated "Ron Burgundy" Will Ferrell--I really wanted to see his take on Rick Marshall with a groovy white man 'fro and a long sleeved button down khaki shirt and khaki pants like the original.
It is kind of funny/sad to see a park ranger throwing his trash in a lake though.

That's being shot at the La Brea Tar Pits, in Los Angeles. I'd recognize those mammoth statues anywhere.

Its good to see Will Ferrell doing something

    by series7

different. Hopefully this will be like his dramatic turn in movies such as Melinda and Melinda and Stranger then Fiction. Two beautifully horrible movies, just loved how they were so dull and lifeless. William Ferrell letting us know that he in fact he is not the second coming of Jim Carry in this way, its reassuring. Its good to know that outside of being an obnoxious, idiot he can't really do anything worh while. While I do enjoy everyone and there grand mother yelling shake and bake all the time, I enjoy Mr. Ferrell's quiter subtle work more. His work that leaves the Greek Plege filled audience leaving the Art Houses whithout wanting to repeat back every word or catchpharse M Fer just said. Hopefully when we look back at an actors work like Jim Carry and we go, wow he was in some amazingly good movies. We will get to look back at MF's body of work and say, wow anything you did outside of comedy sucked. So just like Bewitched before you, Land of the Lost, I wish you luck and will probably be there release day...on my netflicks queue.

uhmm this isn't a 'dramatic turn' - hes going to do to LOTL what he did to Bewitched, and that is, turn it into a 90 minute fart joke.

Thank you for cutting and pasting my post. I don't know if someone who uses phrases such as: tarded, go-tard and mor-tard is in position to criticize what anyone else in the world writes. Maybe if you read things outside of internet postings my hobo-tarded (I don't know if that means anything but you seem to just put some letters in front the incorrect spelling of retard and I guess its a put down?) talkback would not be so impossible for you fathom. But hey man, SHAKE AND BAKE! SHAKE AND BAKE! Right, yeah you know you’ve said it at least times today. Boner.

I'm sorry, but the idea of remaking Land of the Lost, as a stupid comedy...with Will Ferrell is really, really lame as hell. That 90's LotL show should've been the last time we see it on-screen. Enough with the remakes, Hollywood. Would it kill to come up with original ideas, instead of rehashing shit that started as a 70's show? Argh. This is really pathetic. And yes, that's the La Brea tarpits.

    by quadrupletree

I don't know about this one. I loved the TV show when I was a kid but I mean, come on! Even I knew it was cheesy as a kid, just a guilty pleasure. Can't they make some movies that aren't remakes or based on something more than an original idea??

    by gnortsmra

Ferrell's track record, and that of big-screen versions of TV shows, has sucked big time lately.

The upside, though, is that we'll at least get good music, if Giacchino works the same magic he works week after week on "Lost."

its the fucking asshole dickless talentless -tard that thought this was a good idea in the first place. Would it hurt to actually leave at least ONE 70s TV show that is not turned into a shitty movie? When they make the Happy Days Movie it will START with Fonzie jumping a shark. only it will be Jabber Jaws with a flatulence problem or something even worse
