DRILLBIT TAYLOR hits this weekend... clips have shown up online!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Okay, I'm hoping the movie's good. I like all involved... I can't say I'm revved up for it, but there is one clip that appeared in a series of strategically planned studio clip releases on YouTube that really makes me laugh.
They started last week and will release more clips as they approach the release of the flick. I honestly didn't find the more recent two clips all that funny (Click here for one of the other clips, with the kid that always plays young Jack Black and a skinny kid beating each other up), but I guess since the first one gives us a parade of great character actors and some actual funny gags I'll post that one below.
Also, keep an eye out for a totally awesome cameo. Seriously, that one cameo in the clip has me psyched to see the rest of the movie, even though I know I've seen all of that one person. It might be a little obscure, but I'm sure some of you out there will get it...

I loved seeing him in there, but it's not like he's all dressed up in his Sleeping With Sharks get-up or anything, talking about being an assistant. The Adam Baldwin cameo wins it... not just for it being Adam Baldwin, but because he's riffing on an obscure '80s teen drama movie he starred in.

I don't know what it is about it, but when that dude puts his hand in the hot coffee cup and goes, "Aw, damn!" I crack up. I've watched it 5 times now and I still gut-laugh at that.

Dunno aout the movie, the trailers didn't do anything for me. I'm gonna see it in a movie marathon with cloverfield and the eye this easter weekend. Maybe i'll be pleasantly surprised. If not it's still only the price of one movie ticket for 3 movies, and i'd pay that much just to see cloverfield for the 5th time on the big screen. the other two are just a bonus.

It's a talkback up for a mainstream comedy, and not one person on this particular one yet has thrown up the usual 'this movie is not funny..*insert obscure indie or older movie* is real comedy* tangent yet. Congrats guys. -

We blasted this unfunny movie in the previous talkback wherein we were presented with one of the most unfunny movie clips since the Schindler's List Blooper Reel. Something about Ninjas and the Founding Fathers of the US. Yeah - we sorta shot all our ammo over in that thread. This talkback is more like walking into Gettysburg the day after the shooting stopped and asking why nobody was fighting. Its kinda been played out and you missed the whole thing.

Because the trailers for this movie make it look like the saddest piece of shit you could ever be talked into going to see. Everyone who's been in my presence during a Drillbit Taylor movie has the same reaction - like they're watching someone hit rock bottom. Like when you see an old 80s-90s celebrity for the first time in years, only they're on a used car commercial and you think 'jesus, poor guy, what happened to your career'.

Dude...That's like me saying I'm going to a buffet where it's all you can eat ipecac, cat shit, and rat vomit, but I've decided to do it on a Christian Holiday in case Jesus wants to see me down an ipecac before I eat cat shit and rat vomit. Please, don't do this. Cloverfield is pretty good if you can handle the shaky cam...the other two? Good Lord man, are YOU trying to commit suicide.

The 'comedy' isn't coming anytime soon. The Adam Baldwin thing made me teary eyed. Fucking Adam Baldwin beating the shit out of that bald guy, or Matt Dillon...Fuck this flick, I'd pay 10 bucks to see 'My Bodyguard' again any day. That redheaded fucking kid flipping Dillon the bird...classic.
