It appears I am not the only one who heard Ben Stern's voice when I read the title of this article. I loved Arrested Development dearly and I look forward to anything and everything that Hurwitz is involved in. Can't wait for the movie, if it ever gets made. Oh, and baba booey to you all.

I teach high school and it would be funny to see a show get it right. The abysmal Boston Public was not a show about teaching so much as Education Policy where each character was standing in for a Type. Mr. Harper wasn't just the principal, he was City High School Principals Across America.

And also why would Hurwitz deal with Fox again?

It blows my mind that his ABC sitcom with Tambour and Christopher Guest was not even PICKED UP. Very excited about this, but I don't see why he's so eager to be working with Fox again...

    Fox gave AD 3 seasons.

    by rev. slappy

Fox has fucked over a lot of shows (Drive comes to my mind first) but they did give AD 3 seasons when it drew terrible ratings. So what's this about a feature version of it? That is great news.

    by mayorofsimpleton

if it's a cartoon on Fox I automatically expect it to get moved around, pre-empted, cancelled or get no respect, a la King of the Hill, Futurama, Family Guy. Look - what the hell ELSE do they have to put on? They should be drooling for anything by the guy who gave us Arrested Development. Dummies.

Into an animated one for prime time? Did someone drop a paradigm(shift) on the network heads or have they just started recruiting executives off of Skid Row?

    Cartoons of Live-Action Shows

    by jonas grumpy

Ah, this takes me back to my '70s childhood, when so many prime-time live-action hit shows had corresponding Saturday morning animated counterparts. Among others, "Jeannie," "Emergency +4," "The New Adventures of Gilligan," "The Brady Kids," "The Partridge Family in Outer Space," and some other space-travel-type show based on a former series, starring the original actors, but I forget the name.

    by jonas grumpy

Why is the decision to greenlight this being made after a mere table read? Shouldn't they also be looking at character designs so that the crack team of Fox merchandisers can best determine what sort of action figures, keychains, T-shirts, underwear, breakfast cereals, and other tchotchkes can be mined from the source material? All of which should have characters spouting catchphrases full of attitude, irony, sarcasm, pith, and other verbiage.

The original Australian series was FUCKING TERRIBLE.

    by paul t. ryan

....Though nearly all Aussie sitcoms (save Mother and Son, Kath and Kim and, er, um....) are bad. If Hurwitz can polish this turd, it'll be a miracle.
