    WOO HA!!

  • March 11, 2008, 9:13 a.m. CST

    Photoshop!

    by DerLanghaarige

Yes, I know that Photoshop is an industry standard and I'm NOT complaining, just pulling an in-joke.

  • March 11, 2008, 9:15 a.m. CST

    Damn you Michael Bay!

    by Axl Z

    When's Transformers 2 out?

  • March 11, 2008, 9:17 a.m. CST

Looks OK, but given the surprisingly good trailer

    by SpencerTrilby

they could've come up with something better for the poster. Not as bland as Iron Man, but clearly not on par with Indy IV... Which is a shame since there are a few things in this world more iconic than a Chan/Li team up! I hope the movie delivers.

  • March 11, 2008, 9:18 a.m. CST

    LMAO @ Poster

    by bobinnova

Damn, when did Jackie Chan go Jamaica-mon? Is "The Forbidden Kingdom - The Unauthorized Biography of Bob Marley"? That hair has to rank up there with worst hairstyles for an actor along the pantheon next to Travolta in "Battlefield:Earth" and Hanks in "Da Vinci Code"

  • March 11, 2008, 9:18 a.m. CST

    looking more and more promising

    by Bloo

I like the trailer and hte poster looks promising

  • March 11, 2008, 9:19 a.m. CST

    Nice poster, but...

    by SilentP

why do they love putting the wrong names over the wrong actors so much? Is that supposed to do something for the poster, make it more interesting or something? 'cause it doesn't, it just always looks weird.

  • March 11, 2008, 9:21 a.m. CST

    Re: Photoshop!

    by SpencerTrilby

made me laugh; are you the one who created the meme on yesterday's TB, or the anal retentive (no offense) poster who complained afterward? Cuz I can clearly affirm it is NOT shopped. I can tell from the posture, and from seeing quite a few karate flicks in my days.

  • March 11, 2008, 9:24 a.m. CST

Meh, Jackie should have been the one on top

    by Proman1984

    Still pissed about Darfur.

  • March 11, 2008, 9:27 a.m. CST

    Nice composition and great poses

    by Bot-Bot

Looks like a fun movie too. Odds are the DVD cover will be a bad picture of their faces smiling.

  • March 11, 2008, 9:28 a.m. CST

    Definitely watching this.

    by norrinrad

Fan of Jackie Chan's work that isn't a ploy to get big in the US. And Jet Li has been servicable many times, and fantastic in "Unleashed" and "Hero."

  • March 11, 2008, 9:33 a.m. CST

I saw this show in Branson

    by DerLanghaarige

...but everytime a new poster premieres, some asswipe yells PHOTOSHOP! :))

  • March 11, 2008, 9:40 a.m. CST

At least they chose the period style flick

    by SpencerTrilby

instead of teaming up in a Joel Silver buddy movie with a hip hop soundtrack. Gotta give credit to the producers for being tasteful persons.

  • March 11, 2008, 9:45 a.m. CST

but Jackie got the golden flute-like dick

    by pipergates

what i want to see is what Li's Monkey King looks like!

  • March 11, 2008, 9:46 a.m. CST

    professor murder - LOL

    by Bot-Bot

I forgot about the dorky guy in the film. Yes, they'll put him on the dvd cover exactly as you said.

  • March 11, 2008, 9:48 a.m. CST

Nice poster! But names are reversed...

    by kevred

...compared to their position in the image. It's a nice typographic design choice, but for people who don't already know which is which, it might confuse.<p>The poster doesn't really tell me anything about the story, but I just like the image--it looks like fun.

    by waggy

I'm not one of those guys who bitches that your stories are posted hours later than some other sites. Generally I come here more for the opinions than the news. But come on, don't call this shit and exclusive debut when it's been all over the other entertainment sites for a week now.

  • March 11, 2008, 11:54 a.m. CST

Wasn't Jet Li supposed to quit making movies or something?

    by AdrianVeidt

Seriously, ever since "Fearless," which was coined as his last ever epic or last ever movie or something, he's made 4 movies. What gives?

  • March 11, 2008, 11:57 a.m. CST

"the DVD cover will be a bad picture of their faces smiling"

    by newc0253

amen, buddy, amen.<p> seriously, does anyone know why studios insist on taking movies with great poster art (like this)and making retarded shitty DVD covers?<p> there must be some commercial explanation for it, besides sheer fucking stupidity.<p>

  • March 11, 2008, 11:59 a.m. CST

    Movie taglines are getting silly...

    by StarskyandHushky

What the hell does this one even mean? They just string together random words. Just string together: 'Epic', 'Power', 'Lifetime', 'Eternity', 'Love', 'Universe', 'Fantasy' and 'Battle', and you've made a new tagline!

    wrong names over wrong actors

    by Kevin Bosch

This is all a top-billing, contractual thing. It happens when there are two major actors with equal sized leading roles in a movie. In this case Jet Li's name is first from left to right, but Jackie Chan's name is on top. And, i guess to further afirm it, Jackie Chans picture is on the left and Jet Lit's is above.

    Danson/Long & Marshall/Williams

    by Jonas Grumpy

Two lead actors fighting for top billing. Compromise? The name on the left is lower than the name on the right. This poster gives us the 21st century equivalent. Not sure how they'll handle the DVD cover. Also, the "wrong names over actors" paradox is what bugged me most about the "Grease" poster & soundtrack. (Not just that, but the list is too long for now...)

  • March 11, 2008, 4:25 p.m. CST

    Getting taught martial arts

    by Dodgy

by Jet Li and Jackie Chan is like being taught to dance by Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. Which happened to Tommy Steel. He was sent by his studio to learn from Gene, and then sent to Fred. Fred asked Tommy to show him his stuff, and then said 'Have you been to the Irishman? He never could do that step'.

  • March 11, 2008, 4:37 p.m. CST

I saw the trailer for this... And looks really bad.

    by mistergreen

To make this movie main stream, they got a main character whose some nobody blond haired blue eyed kid with no personality. Blearrgh. Jet & Jacky are only playing supporting roles in this stinker.

Li And Chan Have The Same Problem As Bruce Lee

    by skoobyx

A lot of talent but very bad projects. With few exceptions their movies (especially the foreign language ones) are almost unwatchable save for the sweet, sweet, martial arts action sequences. You find yourself wanting to fast forward all the time.<p> Tony Jaa's in the same boat.

  • March 11, 2008, 10:10 p.m. CST

    I actually am hopeful...

    by Toonol

The first trailer focused on the kid, and was a bit bland. The second trailer focused more on the freaky asian fantasy world, and looked really cool.

    by GavinVanDraven

it should be to the fucking death! after a 30 minute exhausting battle, (think rocky 2, but with martial arts) chan should be fatally wounded.... an overconfident jet goes in for the kill because he thinks jackie is beaten and wants finish him off... jackie counters and kills jet instantly.... but dies moments later. roll fucking credits. because the ending of WAR fucking sucked.
