Empire Goes Update Crazy After The Empire Awards! ANT-MAN! BOURNE 4! STAR TREK! And More!

Published at:  Mar 09, 2008 10:58:20 PM CDT

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.

When you host an awards show and invite a shit-ton of big names, chances are you’re going to get a chance to ask them some great questions about all sorts of interesting upcoming films. EMPIRE took full advantage of the situation this weekend, and here’s the result:

Hi,

Hope you're well. At the Empire Awards this evening, we caught up with a number of stars, including Matt Damon, Paul Greengrass, Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright and Matthew Vaughn. They talked about Bourne 4, Green Zone, Star Trek (sorta), Ant Man and more. You can see the stories listed on the site homepage.

Please drop me a line if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Olly

Uhhh Marion Cotillard put the best female performance

    by messi

possibly ever. So shut the fuck up unless you are being sarcastic. Her Performance is the companion to Deniro's Jake La Motta.

    The whole Thor looks silly...

    by poeticwarriorii

is code for, I'm too god damn stoopid to come up with a respectable costume so you're gonna see more black leather and less imagination. Hopefully this insipid fuck will find another project.

Keira Knightley won an acting award?

    by kwisatzhaderach

She can't act for toffee. She has that horrible blank stare in every film she's made. She's the female equivalent of Orloondo Bland. And she needs to eat more.

Moriarty has chosen literary crutches and here's why

    by arcadiands

    Simon Pegg's interview

    by arcadiands

I confess with great chagrin that I was rather derisive of Mr. Pegg's casting as Scotty in the new Star Trek film. I'd only seen his work as the lead in "Shawn of the Dead" and while the film was passably entertaining, I never understood the seemingly rabid ferocity with which the principles here at AICN lusted and drooled like happy puppies over this film, and Mr. Pegg particularly. I chalked it up to the overwhelming bombardment of "Shawn" adverts here on the site, and other rumors of paid contributions to Mr. Knowles in exchange for his own brand of internet guerrilla marketing.
Having read the brief interview linked in this update, I have to say that I'm rather excited about this movie now. Perhaps clever marketing of his own guerrilla style, or perhaps out of genuine excitement over this movie and his contributions to it. I cannot recall the last time an actor said about a movie, "you're going to love it" when in fact I actually did not. An actor would not say something like that even for the sake of marketing a movie, unless he or she absolutely believed that to be true with their every atom.
I'm turning a corner on this film, being now in a state of official, 'I'd like to know a bit more', previously having been, "I'd really like this to not actually happen."

    Moriarty Didn't Say It, ArcadianDS

    by ericinwisconsin

    Olly did.

Sorry, it's just one of my pet peeves. Right up there with mad slasher movies where everyone splits up to search the house.
