Special Cameo in ROCKY & BULLWINKLE

Published at:  May 11, 1999 12:41:20 AM CDT

Well... yesterday we had the flying squirrel news... now the flying foriegn femme and her trusty short pudgy sidekick and a Jewish Mattress salesman.... Well... Sounds like ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE to me. Now if only Peabody and Sherman have a segment!

I was doing extra work for "The Rock and Bullwinkle Movie" and within the
first hour I was there, a special cameo was made. The scene: Boris and
Natasha fall from the sky onto an old, Jewish matress salesman who is
carrying three mattresses on his back walking into the street. The part of
the matress salesman played by none other than... Billy Crystal! He was
there for about an hour and was very funny. He basically was cracking up the
director, Jason Alexander(Boris) and Rene Russo(Natasha). Robert Deniro was
not there that day. On a side note, when you see the movie, the three
mattresses that Billy carries are hollowed out. Movie magic!

    first again?!!

    by fast

I dunno - Rocxky and Bulwinkle in live action - looks like a stinker to me. I think they've gone about as far as they can with all this remake of old tv series stuff- TIME FOR SOME FRESH IDEAS YOU LAZY HOLLYWOOD EXECS!!

    Remember, kids...

    by justin sane

    ...Jewish Mattress Salesmen love you.
Seriously, though, I'm looking forward to this film. Sounds like it's stayed true to the surreal wackiness of the original series, and that, in my book, is tops.
And for you naysayers that think Hollywood should get some original ideas, dream on... execs bettig on a "sure thing" will always rule over Hollywood execs taking chances. I don't like it any more than you do, but we gotta see it for how it is... until WE take over the 'Wood... ;-)

    BILLY CRYSTAL?

    by mckracken

Sounds cool...heah...He's had some really funny cameos (princess Bride!) this could be good. How clear can people make this: "ROCKY" and "Bullwinkle" will be animated in after all the shooting is finished...think "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" I still think they should have animated Boris and Natasha also.... :O( when are we gonna get the Underdog movie? The DynoMutt and Blue Falcon Movie?? (Cartoon Network finally brought back DYNOMUTT reruns!!) YAY! I'm so happy. What about Laff-O-Lympics movie with an all star animated cast? What about a Hong Kong Phooey movie??? (well those aint Jay Ward cartoons but who cares!) -McK

    DeNiro

    by yakitty_yak10

This idea of this movie does sounds stupid to me too. I hope this movie will be good, because DeNiro should know better that to agree to make the potential crap that this movie could be. But on the other, DeNiro IS in the film, so maybe it will be good after all. Just go see for yourself. As for rehashing ideas in Hollywood, some of them aren't all tnat bad. Alot of subject matter is simply well suited for the screen. If it's a good movie then it's a good movie, who cares where the source material came from or if it a completely new concept. Just make a good movie for me to watch and I'll be content. Superheroes, for example, can be done tremendously well on the silver screen. Would you have not made Superman in 1978 if you were the studio exec? I sure as hell would have. And I'm still waiting for a GOOD return to the Superman Universe. Maybe they should get DeNiro to be in it ...

Whatever happened to the Jonny Quest movie?

    by uncapie

Yeah, sure, this "Boris and Natasha" flick is going to bite. I can see the Jonny Quest movie being done the same way. Bandit gets grabbed by a giant "Q"-type bird in New York so Jonny and Hadji get on Hadji's magic flying carpet and chase after him through a fog bank. SPLAT! They crash into the Empire State Building and Bandit gets eaten. Race is too busy getting over a three day binger(Played by Tim Thomerson) with Jade(Brooke Shields) and Dr. Quest off on some island someplace with a couple of Tahitian girls taking bong hits and sipping mai-tai's.

    Oh my good God...

    by jimmer72

Just what we all need--Billy Crystal giving us another self-satisfied performance as a goofy, little Jewish character. Let me guess: Will the word "plotz" somehow be involved? Predictable and sad. Do Jewish people really find this man funny? Do ANY people?! Personally, I'm waiting for day when we get a movie starring the triple threat of Billy Crystal, Dan Aykroyd and Martin Short. Boy, wouldn't that STINK?!!

Re: Uncapie, and why that would never happen...

    by jimmer72

...because Race and Dr. Quest are lovers.

    Dan Ackroyd

    by glitterstar180

I still dig him! He has had some funny movies (anyone heard of "Ghostbusters"?:)) and I just got back from Vegas and House of Blues is a blast! No dissing him, kids!

    Dan

Mr Ackroyd (I know the spellings wrong, but I simply can't be arsed) has still got it I reckon, he was tops in Grosse Point Blank. The problem is he can't pick a project to save his life.

When he do it right we get Grosse Point. When he do it wrong we get Blues Brothers 2000, My Girl, yadda yadda yadda.
