New WANTED trailer hits Myspace!
Hey folks, Harry here with the latest trailer for WANTED - the first American film from the Russian director of NIGHTWATCH & DAYWATCH... it's a Comic Adaptation - that is very different from the book, but I have to say... I really dig the look and feel of the film and I'm hoping it kicks ass. Here's the new trailer:

There is a time and place for huge butt-fucking dumb explode shit up movies. It's called summer. When class is over, you work all fucking day, and then you have a beer and watch shit catch on fire.
This movie will be dumber than the inbred child of your typical Jerry Springer guests, but it will still be fun.
And kids the world over will try to "bend" bullets. And America's suburbs will be filled with dead children. Are you happy now, Mark Millar?? -

This looks badass because bullets turn in different directions. I so fell for this and since I liked the Matrix I'll go see this. HERE HAVE ALL MY FUCKING MONEY! TAKE IT! HERE! Seriously Hollywood. Stop insulting the audience already!

The only interest I have in this is based on the fact that it was shot on a RED ONE camera. Otherwise I couldn't give less of a damn...

... especially towards the end. Hopefully the organization is a least evil though since the main essence of the story was a normal guy who decides to lead a life of crime and deviance. Otherwise this is a Matrix rip-off with pretty pictures.

...it's a 'park yer brain at the door and just go for the ride' film. Not expecting a complex plot or eloquent prose but I am expecting Angelina to look hotter than hell and some extreme, 'that could never happen in the real world' action scenes. My brain will be firmly checked into the cloakroom when I enjoy this bad boy......

Well in the book the main character ended up raping

every woman (including some celebrities) he came across and murder everybody he knew by the second or third issue. Not to mention the whole "Supervillains are real" stuff. Some things seems to be lost in translation.

It's quit ironic that she's some sort of Audrey Hepburn wannabe. With all the goodwill pr bullshit she does. Going on to Iraq, all the charities, Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, adoptions, the UN stuff she does. But she continues to make action films where she kills people, and playing wackos, for which she won the oscar. Anybody else she the dichotomy of these two things?

...a little derivitive, but still pretty awesome. I know they re-wrote the script until the writer of the comic gave it his approval, so this might not turn out too horrible. But I like the look of the trailer a lot, looks like a fun over the top good time!

This line typifies everything I hate about Morgan Freeman. It's a CRAP line and he's got lines like that in every movie he's in. Attention directors! Whenever you think about casting Morgan Freeman call Danny Glover because he's a good enough actor to pull off these crap roles without sucking.

This looks so cheesy & over the top that it can't possibly go well. It's fluff for meatheads...even the cool-looking things are so ridiculous it's insulting. I think the director zoomed right past 'stylish' and dove straight into 'overblown CG pap'.

I don't know about you guys, but i enjoy sitting down and saying and watching eye candy. I like the type of movies where I see things that don't happen in real life. And to whoever said that the actors in this movie sucked. I see 2 Oscar winners up on that screen.

Get past the source material and just judge the movie on its own terms.
Is it too CG for my taste? Yes
It also happens to have some of the most inventive visuals I've ever seen in a hollywood movie. -

Not a mystery, it's like Tom Sawyer in 'League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'...Glossy balls. Looks pretty fun, but NOT the comic. -
I'm surprised that so many haters didn't appreciate the manic energy in the thing. (Of course, the movie might be a letdown (and probably will be), but the trailer was great!)

The makeup of all the villains (shithead, johnny two-dicks) made me laugh but the tone of the whole thing left me feeling really sour. Not a sympathetic face in the whole bunch, not even the protagonist (he raped people for crying out loud), and could you imagine sitting through 90 minutes of that. If it's over-the-top enough it might be fun.
As for Angelina Jolie's weight, yeah she has definitely seen better days but she lost all that weight not for her career but because the death of her mother devastated her. I don't buy into this tabloid bullshit, none of that crap is any of my business, but if I were Brad Pitt I'd be begging her to eat something because a weight loss like that scares the kids. Children are perceptive enough to know when something's wrong. -

.....what the comic book creator(s) think of it. Normally, I'd be a little miffed about the movie not pulling from the original comic book material. But I can't make that argument...since I've never read any of the books. And to me, this looks interesting enough.

Slowing down the action to show bullets and cars flying around has RUINED so many movies in the last 10 years. That stuff only makes sense in the Matrix universe. It takes the dramatic tension and sense of danger out of every freaking scene when people can see and react to bullets and stuff.

That said, the trailer was enough to get me interested. Not in a "WOW THIS IS GOING TO BE AN INSTANT CLASSIC IN MY MOVIE SHELF I SHOW TO EVERYONE" way, but in a "look, pretty stuff" kinda way.
And I thought The Matrix was overrated to shit, so I give two shits if marks think it's getting ripped off. Maybe they'll put the effects in a movie better than the turdfest that was Reloaded and Revolutions combined. -

Folks, go check out the graphic novel. It's so patently different, it pisses me off this is being called an adaptation. It's like with 'I Am Legend' - a movie they call an 'adaptation', but they change the story so much that you could call it 'inspired by' at best, and it's like they just paid for the rights to use the name/title from the source material in the hopes of name recognition. Faithful in spirit is one thing (I thought V for Vendetta was a decent adaptation b/c it was faithful in spirit to the comics even though it changed alot of stuff), altering the setting/premise of the story fundamentally is another thing altogether. But seriously folks, check out the graphic novel. It's fun, and I think most people would ultimately be disappointed that the movie is not adhering a little closer.
