Some PRINCE CASPIAN Video Material To Tease & Taunt Us!!

Merrick here...
There's a sizzle reel/making of kinda thingie online for PRINCE CASPIAN. It talks a bit about what we can expect to see in terms of technological advancements this time around (fight mechanics & creature choreography during action scenes, for example) & offers an intriguing glimpse of what's coming our way when the film opens in May. Check it out via the often-muddy miracle of YouTube, below!

    Fighting minotaurs are cool

    by Abominable Snowcone

but over-explaining CGI is like Doug Henning giving away the secrets of his magical illusions. It becomes boring. Better to see the finished result in May. And give that older sister a couple more years, she's gonna be a cutie.

Only red the Narnia thing as a kid

No idea what all the rest are like so it might work coz only the 1st half of Narnia did. and What the hells a Reppi Cheep!?

    No more Casper movies, please.

    who cares, what about Dragonball...

    by Pipple

Word on the street is that we're about to get a bunch of news from movie sites and such that were invited to the movie set late last month. Was AICN one of them? if so, spill the sensu beans. Prince Casper and the kingdom of the crystal Narnia? whatever.

    by Sirmausalot

It looks a lot better than the borefest that was the first one. I guess it will all depend on the guy who plays Caspian. I had very mixed feelings about the actors in the last film, especially the older two.

    More Rape Plant please!

    by Baron Karza

Love the rape plants. Never saw one when I was over there.. but boy they look great.

  • March 3, 2008, 10:36 a.m. CST

    Nobody liked the first one!

    by GibsonUSA

Not a single person I know. It didn't suck, but I have yet to hear "WOW! That Narnia movie was awesome!"....nope.

  • March 3, 2008, 11:02 a.m. CST

I was amazed when I watched the first film

    by O_Goncho

So. So. Bad. And I was expecting bad.

    HP Progessively Worse?

    by Lovecraftfan

Did you see the first two Harry Potter films. They were terrible.

  • March 3, 2008, 11:04 a.m. CST

    the future is doomed

    by Reznik

We’ve been reduced to hermits shouting at one another from digital windows.

  • March 3, 2008, 11:18 a.m. CST

    what Reznik?

    by just pillow talk

We're doomed? I'd better check the wearedoomed website.

  • March 3, 2008, 11:19 a.m. CST

and I doubt we'll get something better anchorite

    by just pillow talk

I too would like to be proven wrong.<p>I do disagree with you on the Potter movies. I don't think they've gotten worse, though I don't think they've improved dramatically either.

  • March 3, 2008, 11:32 a.m. CST

Narnia was sloooow. Even the battles were boring.

    by Quake II

These new digital battles with 1000 warriors clashing are becoming dull and generic. Caspian has got to be better than Narnia. Iron Man may rule them all though. Anyone see the awesome Iron Man video game trailer on youtube? Wow.

  • March 3, 2008, 11:45 a.m. CST

I don't know what it was about Narnia....

    by Darth Macchio

Good effects, some beautiful shots...anything with giant ass kicking cats is always a plus in my book...but something was off. Can't say what it was other than 'mediocrity by a thousand cuts' maybe? Nothing so specific as to be identifiable but a number of little things? Some even part of the story itself perhaps. The whole need to see fawn nipples was quite distracting. Fawn titties I can deal with tho I don't recall seeing any female fawns...but fawn nipples?! in the same shot as a little girl? CREEPY, I SAY. Creepy.

  • March 3, 2008, 11:59 a.m. CST

see, I thought from the beginning they were missing

    by just pillow talk

that "magic". And of course the movies have butchered the story to the point where I don't know how they would fill in the gaps. Maybe the answer would have been to just have the HP universe as a tv series, instead of movies.

The title screen in the trailer reminds me of an arcade game.

    by GibsonUSA

Like a Golden Axe title screen at the local arcade.

  • March 3, 2008, 12:13 p.m. CST

    Golden Axe!!

    by Darth Macchio

Still gives me nightmares. I chased a midget dressed in a blue robe and pointy hat for hours once. Kept kicking him in the ass but no magical potions popped out. What kind of world is it where kicking midgets doesn't yield magic potions!

  • March 3, 2008, 12:20 p.m. CST

Lion, Witch and Wardobe was wack!

    by kwisatzhaderach

Look, I love the Narnia books, but when I picture them in my mind I don't imagine a CG-drenched multi-coloured disaster. Everything about that film was way off track.

  • March 3, 2008, 12:28 p.m. CST

    by odo19

I to have to disagree with you about the last two HP movies. I thought they were great. It's the first two I thought were the worst. But to each his own I guess.

  • March 3, 2008, 12:46 p.m. CST

So let me get this right.......

    by D o o d

The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, the best and most popular of all the books in this series was butchered by these people and made into a mediocre to shit movie. Somehow we're suppose to believe they'll do a better job this time with a weaker book..?? Genious..!

  • March 3, 2008, 12:57 p.m. CST

Where are the 10,000 b.c. reviews?

    by Jonah Echo

Any of the writers for this site seen this yet/can write about it? Im considering plunking down the cash to check it out, but would be nice to know exactly what to expect-moderately amusing like ID4, watchable like Stargate, or is it another Godzilla?

  • March 3, 2008, 1:06 p.m. CST

Really liked the first one + the books...

    by superduper3000

But the books were razor thin, and the more I think about the more confused I get on just how they plan on adapting the later volumes. They're a bit too...literary for the screen, don't you think? Do we want Hollywood thinking they can actually improve on Lewis? Did that work for Dr. Suess?? <BR> <BR> Great Persepolis review!!<BR> <br>

Aren't these the same people who gave us...

    by Darth Macchio

...the anti-genius of Shrek??? Didn't that Adam-whatever guy direct some of the most singular reasons for never allowing cgi onto the big screen again? (between Shrek and the prequel abominations) Eddie, you were the shit in RAW but you suck giant monster ass in Shrek. Sorry. I used to have a kick ass Scottish accent and Myers and company fucked that up for me. Apparently, somestimes, even if it is's still CRAP.

i liked the first one. honest. i even bought the DVD. i thought it captured the intent and tone of the first book quite well. i don't need the narnia movies to be LOTR like -- i'm happy with each on their own ground.

    by Quake II

The voiceover was Robert Downey Jr doing a script read and it was very dull but the pan-around shot of Iron Man flying was wicked and from what I've read, the game allows you to have total freedom to take to the skies or battle on the ground at any time. Plus what other game allows you to grab a fighter jet during flight and toss it out of the sky? May 2nd we'll find out (the game).

  • March 3, 2008, 8:07 p.m. CST

The first one was a terrible mess

    by NomoredirtyjokespleaseweareYanks

It had no tension, looked horrible, and the chidren were awful.

  • March 4, 2008, 12:54 a.m. CST

I have read the books and I expected a lot more

    by NomoredirtyjokespleaseweareYanks

Not from the story, they had that(even with it's stupid additions). My problem was with the amatuerish execution.

  • March 4, 2008, 4:26 a.m. CST

I thought it was well done.

    by Diazanon

It wasn't as grandiose as Lord of the Rings but it wasn't supposed to was an imaginary world just big enough for children to rule over. I usually hate so much CG but the majority of it looked better than expected. Also, the older daughter is hot, even if she is like a midget.

  • March 4, 2008, 3:05 p.m. CST

It turned into another cute talking animals movie

    by skywalkerfamily

First movie nearly put me to sleep.

  • March 4, 2008, 3:13 p.m. CST

Zero originality. All they're doing is ripping

    by performingmonkey

It's like 'here we go with another generic battle/siege sequence with millions of digital characters'. This wasn't in the Caspian book, but it doesn't matter because if they hadn't invented anything this would have been the worst movie ever made. 'Wardrobe' was lame because it was soaked in mediocrity. The whole production looked like it used rejected CG, costumes, design and physical effects from LOTR. Giving it to the director of Shrek was a bad idea too. This is a guy who for years has just made self-aware digital crap. It makes no sense why such CLASSIC property as Narnia, The Golden Compass, Potter (aside from Cuaron) is given to such lame directors. Jackson was allowed to do LOTR because he worked his fucking ass off to prove to the execs that he had the talent to make it. The gods were fucking smiling down the day New Line agreed with Jackson and 3 movies.
