    Best trailer so far

    by spencertrilby

they saved the best lines for that one ("Good God you're a woman?!" = BRILLIANT), improved the lame SuperBowl spot VFX, and the action seems really cool. I doubted the previous teasers but that one is terrific. Enough to make me buy a ticket, actually.

    by spencertrilby

    by spencertrilby

The Superbowl spot, and the international teasers were kinda useless if you think about it. Of course they helped the online buzz, but they sucked compared to that one. My only complaint is that it shows a bit too much. Like the Spider-Man 3 ad campaign.

    by reflecto

Those franchise have been fucked up, along with Ghost Rider and X-Men. Iron Man looks more fantastical and willing to take risks and spare no expense than the X-franchise ever did in film. And I don't think they'll ever get Hulk right, I think the Ed Norton version will be a mess and far inferior to the deeply underappreciated Ang Lee film.

They need to either put out a good X-film or another decent Marvel franchise property to follow this. Hopefully the Edgar Wright Ant-Man is still happening.

Favreau said he won't go beyond 120 minutes. Probably around 1H45 - 1H50. He said so in many interviews. Where did you read the 2H20min thing? I for one, wouldn't complain if the movie is breaks the 2 hours mark. The longer the better.

    Just reboot the X-franchise

    by reflecto

Do it gritty, dark, get it away from the cloistered tired mansion setting (like in the comics during the late '80s and again today) and do what Favreau and Nolan are doing: Don't talk down to people and dummy up the script just because it's a comic book movie. Do that Mutant Massacre type feel, show the X-Men underground, running around the subways.

I have some hope for the Wolverine film but it seems to have way too many people in it. The problem is the franchise pisses away so many good characters in all those dumbass little cameos.

Best trailer I've seen in years!

    by llghtst0rmer

    Holy fucking hell!

And I've never read a single IM comic and have basically no knowledge of it whatsoever. But that was the first trailer I've seen for as long as I can remember where I stopped breathing while watching it. The Indy 4 trailer didn't catch me like that. Between this flick and TDK, I might just never leave the theatre this summer. My wife and kids will have to miss me.

This will be huge. I recall many talkbackers saying

    by creasybear

X-Men would be a huge failure -- average moviegoer ignorant of all superheroes except Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man; trailers made the villains look corny, etc. -- yet it had a huge opening and a great run in theaters. Iron Man's relative obscurity shouldn't be a problem, either. Forget the SFX, if RDJ has the charisma and personality to make us care about the humorously cocky arms dealer who has a change of heart and wants to redeem himself (via being a bad-ass hero), then non-geeks will hear the good word of mouth.

    by kenjinattix

He hasn't just turned water(Marvel movies in general) into Wine(Iron Man)he has a contender for best comic book adaption ever! You hear that Spidey, 300, Sin City? There might be some reshuffling post May 2nd. AND! AND!!!! He loves doing it! You hear that X-men producer Tom Rothman!!?! ANNNNNND! Its like Favs is making choices that us normal comic book fans would do if we could helm such a film...like cross overs into other Marvel movies...UNHEARD OF before Favs and he did it effortlessly. Like practical effects and STAN WINSTON(The Terminator guy) Doing the Mark I, II, and III. We should all get on one knee...the ones who initially doubted Favs resolve or knowledge of this movie (Trust me, I was one of them)and swear our allegence. Raimi may be the fist of the north star when it comes to comic book adaptions...but I think we have just found the south star.

    Awesome, it's absolutely awesome.
and please, no complains about the story, it was the same about Transformers, even tough we all got to know, that there will be Autobots and Decepticons fighting eachother, while the Humans were in the middle. Regardless of complainings of people, Transformers($706,471,251) dwarfed out Terminator2($519,843,345).

Also, Iron Man might also have a quite similar stoy to one of the series, even if so, it's looking good enough for me to visit the Cinema for it.

Here's a blog with some Iron Monger storyline pics and comments. In the comic, Iron Monger blasts his own head off.

The movie looks cool, but that last tank-busting sequence seems out of place, despite improved cgi since the Super Bowl. Let's hope we have some cool comic flicks to see this summer.

Electronically altering Tony's voice as IRON MAN, right?

    by jdanielp

The way this motion picture is looking, it seems they could do no wrong. But then, I've felt that way before when seeing a trailer, only to be disappointed, for one reason or another. That said, allow me to ask about the obvious...which would be a major flaw if the subject was not considered. There has been special attention on Tony Stark's voice when in the IRON-MAN suits), correct? (It's a given that Tony's voice is not altered in the first design, however.) Don't fail us, guys! In the comic books, there's a REASON why Iron-man's "word balloons" look different from everyone else. LOOK at IRON-MAN...and tell me he is NOT going to sound like some comic book convention guy...behind a suit that he created for the show. Cover your bases, Fav!
