I'm there.

Now I'm ready to see this movie.
-
I gotta join freakin' MySpace to watch this? That is SO 2006.
-
I just hope we get a Watchmen teaser during TDK

IT WOULD BE EVEN MORE BADASS IF I DIDN'T HAVE TO JOIN FUCKIN MYS
by reflecto
Goddamn idiots.
-
Eat it.
-
I didn't have to join myspace to watch it, maybe I'm cooler than you?
-
they saved the best lines for that one ("Good God you're a woman?!" = BRILLIANT), improved the lame SuperBowl spot VFX, and the action seems really cool. I doubted the previous teasers but that one is terrific. Enough to make me buy a ticket, actually.
-
Every jaded bone in my body doesn't want me to enjoy this as much as I do. I don't know if the finished product will be worth a damn, but they sure have hit more than a few good notes with this trailer. Giddy, stupid fun.
-
if you don't wanna join the MySpace mob.
-
That's the only word I can come up with. Nice job Favrau! Fucking. Bad. Ass. Can't wait to see this!
-
Looks better every time I see it, especially the tank part from the Super Bowl Ad. This summer is going to be bigger than last year!
-
and I'm still not completely sold on the tone of the movie... but that trailer is a fucking huge improvement over the previous spots and if only action-wise, shows potential. Wish it lives up to it. Fingers crossed.
-
I'm pretty sure there was no classic rock in that trailer. with that said, their music choices are flat out retarded.
-
But did they change sumthin' about the tank scene? The cg looks slightly better.
-
Don't know why.
-
The Superbowl spot, and the international teasers were kinda useless if you think about it. Of course they helped the online buzz, but they sucked compared to that one. My only complaint is that it shows a bit too much. Like the Spider-Man 3 ad campaign.
-
You're probably not in the US so you'll need to scroll to the bottom of the page and manually change to the US version of myspace...i couldn't figure it out myself there.
-
Those franchise have been fucked up, along with Ghost Rider and X-Men. Iron Man looks more fantastical and willing to take risks and spare no expense than the X-franchise ever did in film. And I don't think they'll ever get Hulk right, I think the Ed Norton version will be a mess and far inferior to the deeply underappreciated Ang Lee film.
They need to either put out a good X-film or another decent Marvel franchise property to follow this. Hopefully the Edgar Wright Ant-Man is still happening. -
MYS fuck me, direct link homies
-
It still doesn't work for me. Gutted.
-
I already saw this at WonderCon when Faverau suprised us, HAHA!
-
if I'm gonna fall that low and jerk on a trailer, at least it'll be HD.
-
The life out of any movie that follows it. Seriously this looks fucking awesome! I can't wait for the release.
-
Does anyone know if its attached to a movie this weekend? Semi-Pro or something?
-
where's the direct link? I need an HD VERSION OF THIS! NOW!!!
-
They keep using 'Iron Man' by Ozzy Osborn. Too bad he sucks, as does the song. I don't really see why they use it, either, considering there aren't a lot of people who are gonna equate the song with it's title.
Other than that, good stuff. -
Hhhh, go figure.

Is it May yet? -
Really cool. And you don't have to join myspace to watch it...dumbasses...

love the trailer... so much so that i wish to retract all of my hateful statements regarding the earlier superbowl ad.

They could've revealed the Venom debacle in the trailer
by spencertrilby
it would've still made a shitload of money, unfortunately.
But I agree with you deliciouscowbell, except that I thought the last 30 minutes weren't as bad as the 2nd act. -
anyone interested?

deliciouscowbell, you forgot to thank him also for...
by vaudeville villain
the pussification of the sandman.
-
BTW - Venom is a non-character - a one-dimensional drooling monster who deserved to die.
-
Feb 28, 2008 9:20:29 PM CST
and speaking of the sandman, did anyone else think
by vaudeville villain
it was lame that he was wearing his trademark striped green sweater *while* he (retconningly) shot uncle ben? i mean, when he was subsequently arrested, did the cops let him drop it off at his house before hauling him to jail, you know, so he could pick it up later after he escaped? funny enough, that was one of my biggest gripes with the movie...
-
I prefer trailers that work as small films, AOTC(greatest trailer ever), TDK, The Two Towers. Lots of cool shots in this.
-
that was bad-ass!
-
cool
-
I'm in.
-
But, wow, they gave a lot away in that preview.
-
HD links are fucked.
-
You probably have a ton of spyware on your computer.
-
I can't wait to see this,
-
and this may be it. Gobots is to Transformers as X-men Franchise is to ...IRON MAN?
I like the "no apologies" style and besides the generitardo-bad mideastern pawn-guy, you can tell the casting is a cut above. Downey can act his f--king ass off and you can already see it. -
There, I said it. And I'm not taking it back.
-
daaaa da dumb dumb duuuuumb
-
this movie looks so damn good.
-
but from what i hear/read..this movie is clocking around 2hr20min. nice.
-
dumb da dumb dumb duuuuuumb
-
...they improve the CGI before this is released. Some of the scenes look good (jet scene), but others (like the tank scene) look like ass. Fix it fuck heads.
-
Saw this and more at Wondercon. God it was so fucking incredible...Although Wall E brought tears to my eyes.
-
Now that's marvel. You hear that Nic Cage, Brett Ratner!
-
Favreau said he won't go beyond 120 minutes. Probably around 1H45 - 1H50. He said so in many interviews. Where did you read the 2H20min thing? I for one, wouldn't complain if the movie is breaks the 2 hours mark. The longer the better.
-
the Ozzy/Busta Rhymes Iron Man cover? "This... means... WAAAARRRR!!!"
THAT would be awesome. -
Absolutely perfect. nuff said.
-
Just don't buy RDJ in this role... nor do I care to see his cod piece for 2 hrs... sayin...
-
But that silver suit was cool.
-
Seriously it was as if it was from a completely different film, looked really good and realistic. Rest of the stuff looked good, though felt a little bit like they had to cram a lot of story into the trailer to explain it all.
-
too bad I just saw the whole movie
-
totally awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jugdish: Maybe you'd like to give us a complete synopsis, then?
by playkins
I don't care what movie it is, you NEVER see everything in the trailer. So, Favreau [sp?] showed a lot, he had to in order to shut up the haters. He's handling this release very well, IMHO.
-
Do it gritty, dark, get it away from the cloistered tired mansion setting (like in the comics during the late '80s and again today) and do what Favreau and Nolan are doing: Don't talk down to people and dummy up the script just because it's a comic book movie. Do that Mutant Massacre type feel, show the X-Men underground, running around the subways.
I have some hope for the Wolverine film but it seems to have way too many people in it. The problem is the franchise pisses away so many good characters in all those dumbass little cameos. -
I feel like if the trailer stayed with that classic epic music when we see stark doing some building, the trailer would have been so much better. The tone seems kinda jokey, but it does look good.
-
while I pick my jaw up off the floor. Damn......
-
and I liked the Soundgarden song in there too, nice touch.
-
of rock
-
if that's all the action highlights and gags then i'll be sad, but if there's 2 hours of what we just saw then color me a giddy little school girl.
-
Trailers can be decieving but who woulda thought that maybe the hardest character to translate to film (besides the Hulk) could save the future of Marvel movies?
-
he has confirmed that the black freighter will be a part of the dvd, and he will be doing the voice over
-
IESB had this trailer up 3 minutes before you did!!! You SUCK!!
-
How'd you know I was listening to James Blunt?
-
I hate to say it, but when I was looking a the scene where Pepper walks in on Tony...THAT was Tony Stark. RDJ is going to be perfect in this film, and I was one of the biggest RDJ detractors on this site.
I cannot wait for this movie, and I hope the Incredible Hulk will be as good. -
MySpace doesn't work for shit. And this movie looks unbelievable.
-
Music in the trailer is fine. I just wish it stuck with the same type of music where we see stark building the suit.
-
I like it a LOT. Good stuff Favreau. You are Soooooo money.
-
Gwyneth Paltrow as a redhead? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
-
now iam really looking forward to this movie. TDK, INDY4 and now IRONMAN, its gonna be a good year :)
-

So the terrorists kidnap him and want him to build them a bomb
by godmars
And instead he builds a time machine out of a Delorean?
-
about the music, well said brother well said. FUCK THE HATERS WHO WANT ORCHESTRA MUSIC!! that's old school this is new and I'm an old man
-
And I nominate "Seek and Destroy"
-
Quit your bitching, they've covered the crossover on many, MANY occasions. It's not AICN's fault you're not paying attention. It's pretty much common knowledge (in the geek community)that they're setting up a Avengers flick over at Paramount.
-
you sir, are a moron. :)
-
that trailer FUCKING ROCKED!!!!!!
-
A big improvement over the last trailer. Even if it does look like a flipbook off of Myspace.
-
The most enjoyable aspect is Downey. I think he's going to be entertaining. Hard rock is the way to go. Maybe a little "Peace Sells" by megadeath.
-
This movie keeps raising my expectations, and that might not be a good thing. But it seriously does look like it could be the Best Marvel movie... ever (even though I love Spider-man 1 & 2 and X-Men 1& 2).
-
What's next, Spider-Man's black suit comes from an asteroid instead of from Secret Wars? Oh, wait...
-
...finance ALL their movies. I mean, when I first heard that Marvel was opening a Production Company I thought it was gonna do nothing but enable them to pump out crapfests like Ghost Rider and FF for the next 9 years....guess I was wrong.
-
AND Wha? Why CAN'T Tony Stark walk?
-
I was thinking about later issues of Iron Man when (spoiler) Tony Stark gets shot and has to use a wheelchair.
-
...did he get a microchip to solve that too. Seems like every ailment Tony had eventually Start Industries invented a chip to cure it.
-
Yeah, first he got that crazy wheelchair that could fly and then he got some sort of microchip in his back so he could walk again.
-
well, he must've developed a microchip that could remedy poor cgi, because the final tank shot actually looks bad ass now.
-
Okay everybody...
-
at first I was just glad they were making another one, but lately I've been starting to lose faith in it thinking it's not gonna be top of the line like this looks. I'm actually starting to think that Favruea might have made his first good movie, luckely it IRON MAN. As for WOLVERINE I can only hope for the best but I know that TSOTSI was really good.
-
...it looked fuckin GREAT. But did he just kill a dude? Am I cool with that?
-
The sequence of "suiting up" made my day... I've always wanted to see that onscreen!
-
Watching him fly around with the modern vfx, don't be surprised if Disney isn't thinking of bringing back "The Rocketeer".
-
One should never ever dis AC/DC! I'm a hardcore Hip-hop fan, but Iron man is a song that even the most jaded muthafuckers like me appreciate. Whoever disses Iron Man,Ozzy,AC/DC obviuosly have never been laid. Because any woman stupid enough to sleep with you would be made of plastic with poly-eurathane inflatable tits!
-
and with all these shitburgers that have come out as we near the end of this decade it's really rather frightening!! but this gives hope!!! superhero movie of all time however will always be SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE.
-
FACT. That or X-Men 2. They kill the crap out of Superman and his turning-the-world back bullshit.
-
YEEHHHAAAAWWWWW!
-
Iron Man and the Joker are going to raise the bar, hand-in-hand, this year. Stark is a PIMP! A pimpin' pimp!
-
its so true!
-
He is such a smarmy smug tony stark, thats the way he should be!
-
Holy fucking hell!
And I've never read a single IM comic and have basically no knowledge of it whatsoever. But that was the first trailer I've seen for as long as I can remember where I stopped breathing while watching it. The Indy 4 trailer didn't catch me like that. Between this flick and TDK, I might just never leave the theatre this summer. My wife and kids will have to miss me. -
Towards the bottom of the screen? 480 / 720 / 1080... not choppy; beautiful as hell!

Did Marvel get permission from AC/DC and Audioslave to play thei
by stalkeye
..since they are getting their asses sued by Dave Grouhl of Foo Fighters for using their song Best of me during the Wolvering and the X-men trailer. Just curious to know, other than that IM looks more and more promising, well I was more impressed than what I have seen on the Dark Knight trailer.Sorry I ever doubted Downey when I first heard of his casting as TS.Oh and Nosferatu, while most of the songs for Daredevil and Ghost Rider sucked,i did like "Man without fear" sung by Rob Zombie (who is known for being a Comic Geek) as oppossed to that annoying Evervesance song.
Anyway, making mine Marvel! -
I was sold on this movie on day one. Is it me, or was there a hint of Mandarin with the whole "ruling China" thing. OR I heard that wrong?
-
I think Robert Downey Jr brings something special to this film. I like style.
-
X-Men would be a huge failure -- average moviegoer ignorant of all superheroes except Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man; trailers made the villains look corny, etc. -- yet it had a huge opening and a great run in theaters. Iron Man's relative obscurity shouldn't be a problem, either. Forget the SFX, if RDJ has the charisma and personality to make us care about the humorously cocky arms dealer who has a change of heart and wants to redeem himself (via being a bad-ass hero), then non-geeks will hear the good word of mouth.
-
Anyone who wants to utilize viral marketing correctly can do so without that frackin' MySpace. Bad code, worse profiles. Saw the trailer on IGN...not to shabby!
-
I totally agree with you. I have a feeling this movie will also bring in non geeks because it will get rave reviews in the press. And to David.. yeah there is a hint of Mandarin. Indeed!!!
-
Damn my work computer and it's shitness. Got to wait till I get home to watch this. I like what I've seen so far from this film though.
I don't care what people say swingers kicked ass.
And RDJ was cool in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
As for people who say non comic book fans won't know who Ironman is, I've never read a comic book in my life and I knew who Ironman was.
I remember seeing the old 80's cartoon when he was fighting commies.
At the beginnning of every episode he always had this big speech about fighting the Red menace, it was hilarious. -
anyone who would criticize a fucking trailer cause it has rock music by AC/DC and Soundgarden is the moron.
-
I almost giggled out loud when he said that...fucking awesome trailer!
-
But I have to say, that is a pretty solid trailer. RDJ is such a dead ringer for Tony Stark. Not to mention the fact that he's just freaking great in everything he does. I hope the movie doesn't fall into some predictable and pedestrian routine...which is what I fear from Favreau. And you know who could be the dark horse that elevates this to another level?Jeff Muthafuckin' Bridges.
-
the foo's music company is suing marvel for using music in the trailer of a cartoon.
-
but I thought you were raggin' on someone for pointing out some news, but didn't read the poster[stalkeye]'s name. .. carry on flaming.
-
fookin' brillllllllliant. like Alan shore from boston legal in a tin suit. great stuff.
-
I feel pretty confident that this will be a solid movie, as well as TDK...the hulk is a great mystery to me though....
-

good on the Fav for using practical elements when he could
by ironic_name
the stunt guy was pretending to catch a real car that was suspended on wires, and it looks tasty, more that, less ps3 tank shooting.
-
everyone consideres batman begins the best superhero movie. and superman: the movie was half a good movie, then it became a joke.
-
War Machine?
-
I believe.
-
I might have to break out my Iron Man comics again, the Iron Monger storyline in the early '80s was pretty sweet. Here's hoping they do the sentient armor storyline in movie form at some point. That I think is my personal favorite from the comics. -
He hasn't just turned water(Marvel movies in general) into Wine(Iron Man)he has a contender for best comic book adaption ever! You hear that Spidey, 300, Sin City? There might be some reshuffling post May 2nd. AND! AND!!!! He loves doing it! You hear that X-men producer Tom Rothman!!?! ANNNNNND! Its like Favs is making choices that us normal comic book fans would do if we could helm such a film...like cross overs into other Marvel movies...UNHEARD OF before Favs and he did it effortlessly. Like practical effects and STAN WINSTON(The Terminator guy) Doing the Mark I, II, and III. We should all get on one knee...the ones who initially doubted Favs resolve or knowledge of this movie (Trust me, I was one of them)and swear our allegence. Raimi may be the fist of the north star when it comes to comic book adaptions...but I think we have just found the south star.
-
search your feelings, you KNOW it to be true.
-
A Marvel movie that might actually be good!
-
And I offer my early congrats. Thanks for listening to the fans.
-
Spit-shine this flick with a grade "A" soundtrack and the heavens will open up and shine on geeks everywhere! (Just make sure there's no "victory music" before the fight is won, which is one of my biggest pet-peeves a movie can have.)
-
Damn, I created this cool costume, but I can't get through a doorway!
-
Looks like a solidly crafted story and perfectly cast too. Could be as good as Batman Begins in a lighter and shinier way. What Superman Returns could have been without silly cartooney Spacey and all the melodrama. Only problem is they're giving away too much in them trailers.
-
Looks solid. Downey Jr. was a great choice. So was Favreau.
-
If you read my earlier post regarding the music, you wouldn't look like a dumbass. I said the music in the trailer was fine, but i felt like the trailer would have felt more "epic" if it had stuck with the same music where we see stark captured and building the suit.
-
Looked like Transformers there at the end.
-
EVERY trailer Iron Man puts out gets better and better!!! MORE snarky humor... MORE action... BETTER SFX... Everything about it SHOUTS that it's a superhero film you don't have to hide your head while watching it.This movie WILL be this year's Little Miss Transformers ...but w/o having to suffer through Shia LeBeouf!!!Poor Indy. :(
-
Rockets-- Robots-- Explosions-- and Ozzy!
Wooo-hooo---what more do you want in a Summer '08 flick?
-
PURE class and a VERY smart move. I'd have FAR less respect for this film if they were too snobbish NOT to use it.I don't know a comic book fan from the 70s who DOESN'T associate the song with Ol' Shellhead. :)
-
Awesome, it's absolutely awesome.
and please, no complains about the story, it was the same about Transformers, even tough we all got to know, that there will be Autobots and Decepticons fighting eachother, while the Humans were in the middle. Regardless of complainings of people, Transformers($706,471,251) dwarfed out Terminator2($519,843,345).
Also, Iron Man might also have a quite similar stoy to one of the series, even if so, it's looking good enough for me to visit the Cinema for it. -
But it won't happen, unless some very high-up Disney Exec, stoned on his ass, fires up the DVD at the peak of his high and says "why don't we make more of these?" Though stranger things HAVE happened... (coughDumbandDumberercough)
-
Terminator 2 and Transformers is about even, so please keep that in mind (and I'm not being critical - I love them both, I just love T2 more).
-
wat was that song they played? i cant remember the song, i know cornell is singing.
-
Here's a blog with some Iron Monger storyline pics and comments. In the comic, Iron Monger blasts his own head off.
The movie looks cool, but that last tank-busting sequence seems out of place, despite improved cgi since the Super Bowl. Let's hope we have some cool comic flicks to see this summer.
http://the-isb.blogspot.com/2006/03/badass-panels-volume-6-iron-man-200.html -
That, even while adjusting for inflation. King Cameron rules.
-
The way this motion picture is looking, it seems they could do no wrong. But then, I've felt that way before when seeing a trailer, only to be disappointed, for one reason or another. That said, allow me to ask about the obvious...which would be a major flaw if the subject was not considered. There has been special attention on Tony Stark's voice when in the IRON-MAN suits), correct? (It's a given that Tony's voice is not altered in the first design, however.) Don't fail us, guys! In the comic books, there's a REASON why Iron-man's "word balloons" look different from everyone else. LOOK at IRON-MAN...and tell me he is NOT going to sound like some comic book convention guy...behind a suit that he created for the show. Cover your bases, Fav!
-
Can you imagine Darth Vader with any other voice??? So PLEASE...oh, please have some focus on this important element of the character. (And again, I do figure that there is no voice alteration on the first Iron-man suit-design, which should be quite obvious, given the circumstances.)
-
Dang it, I hate typos! Forgive me.
-
If we can see Iron Man and Ironmonger power armor in glorious HD, why the HELL can't I get my REAL Starship Troopers made as it was written?
Aside from Steakley's "Armor", it is still some of the finest powered armor combat I can recall reading.
Sigh.
SIGH.
