And While We’re Talking About WonderCon... coughxfilestrailercough...
Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
Look! Quick!
My first reaction? Looks like a lot of fun.
My second reaction? I’m honestly more thrilled by the sight of Mulder and Scully together again than I was by the sight of Indy back in action. Wouldn’t have guessed that before seeing these trailers.
My third reaction? I love the audience at WonderCon screaming. Fox should leave this version online... that’s what really sells this trailer.
Thanks to Paul for the heads-up on this one.

That's awesome, I can't wait hahaha. I miss the x-files... when it was good..
-
How the hell can you tell that by looking at the video, you can barely make out anything at all. I'm an x-files fan and i want this to be good but i felt nothing watching that just now. Now the Never Back Down trailer on the other hand.........
-
Guess it was a good move not including Kirk on that list for now...
-
Oh wait, it is. None of the cinematic vision of the first one.
-
Rob Bowman was right out of TV when he directed XFFTF.
-
...and is also quite annoying as a stand up!
-
Sherman_Lives: You're right that Bowman was a TV director too, but just look at their credits. Carter has only ever directed X-Files episodes and nothing else.

Seems like there are a couple crazy people in this movie
by iamnicksaicnsn
gots to check out the IMDB now! Hope it's freakin awesome though... Did look like a more epic version of the show, and kinda hope it's not about werewolves, but i guess the whole alien thing is done.
-
Not a huge fan but I liked the show and that other show the one with the three guys doing stuff, the lone gunmen.
-
So is this going to be about the government conspiracy, alien invasions, black oil, etc? I thought it was going to be a stand-alone story. But whatever, I'm looking forward to this more than I expected.
-
...Except, what the fuck is Billy Connolly doing there? I thought at first you were fucking around and it was a parody or something.
-
Every trailer should have an audio track of screaming geeks.
-
Love the reactions. You almost never get that in muted bloody Blighty. The only time I did was at a screening of Cloverfield a couple of weeks back. No, it wasn't that movie which elicited the response, rather the Rambo trailer that preceded it. A few seconds in and I couldn't hold it in any more, so I had to let out a very loud "YEEEEEEEEEEESSS!!!". Pretty soon, the whole audience was lauging, pumping fists and cheering through the rest of the trailer. Loved it.
-
whenever you can Mori. Can't believe this article somehow doesn't praise Del Toro, don't you have to fit that in everything somehow
-
That looked better than Indy 4? Looks like a good episode, but only that!
-
the mythology through six seasons was fantastic and wrapped up very nicely. And the Indy 4 trailer was seriously underwhelming; a CG Indy swinging on a whip... and that's about it.
-
EAT 'something'
-
That says it all about the first film...just retarded. I'll pass on this one.
-
Anybody else remember Lance Henrickson being all vague when asked if he was going to be in XF2?
-
Ah....the lovely story of a boy and his zombie.
-
just sayin'....
-
Ok I was all "X-files? whatever" before now I'm hyped. God, I'm weak.
-
I realize you have no respect for Harrison Ford anymore, Mori, but to suggest this will somehow be better than Indy is a little much. Like one of the guys above said: X-Files is a cocktease, plain and simple. Indy provides the goods.
-
You guys are a bunch of fucking geeks.
-
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
-
Hold on for it, cause here it comes! The latest borrowed zeitgeist coming at ya. But wait, didn't retro kick into high gear in the 90s? How can you be retro-retro?! Its impossible! Its like a feedback loop! All of popculture is going to implode! AIEEEE!!! Run for the hills! Invent your own popculture rather than looking backward! The very stability of the multiverse is at stake! HAAAYYYEEEELP!!!
-
Seriously? bunch of people walking along an ice plain? Cuts to Mulder for a second? Cuts to Skully? Wow....Who cares?
-
x-files. so fuckin awesome.

Yeah, a "tease" implies a tantalizing glimpse of something cool
by creasybear
enough to make us demand more. This trailer falls considerably short of that definition. For the record, I was also a big X-Files fan of the first several seasons, and enjoyed the monster-of-the-week episodes better, since they usually had a fun sense of humor as well as the dark foreboding.
-
the jizz in my pants, that is.
-
I'm sold in that Carter gets the benefit of the doubt, as does Spielberg/Ford on Indy - they didn't have to make these, it's no 'cash-in' cuz they have shloads of money, so they made them with nothing to lose - which, yes, can mean utter slop, but rather is probably going to be uber-surprising and that much more fun....and no one knows shit about this script (that i've seen), so count me in til I'm proved wrong! (for both of 'em)
-
Scully's lookin' GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.
-
Thanks for this great stuff Quint. Making an old X-files fan feel good.
-
I swear I saw Krycek in there, which I guess confirms that the movie takes place before the end of the series. What I'm wondering though is if this is a stand-alone, non-conspiracy episode, then what are Krycek and ABH doing there?
-
And by episode, I mean movie
-
its time
-
Or Toombs.
-
oooooh!
-
Hell, 10 years is a really long time
-
Does that mean they'll bring back Agent Pendrell? It was some thing when Pendrell died.
-
Is there anything more obnoxious, and pathetic than a roomful of 20-50 something people who stopped maturing at 13 and whom scream at every millisecond shot of their favorite TV show characters?
Was anyone who was there actually get to take in that trailer? You can't hear the dialog and process the images to form a valid opinion of it for all the silly screaming and hooting.
Sounds like a bunch of preTeen girls at a Jonas Brothers concert. -
I believe ABH was standing at the autopsy table looking menacing. What I believe to be Krycek was there at :28 (if you blink you'll miss him) running, but reading Quint's description in the article, he thinks that was Mulder, so ::shrug::
-
in the article = in the other article
-
That said, at least THIS has the excuse of being just a big budget version of an old TV show (low/no expectations of greatness)...and not something being made by two men whom at one time were Giants of Modern Film making.
-
seems like forever!! yay!1!!!!!!
-
is to be the biggest retard on the planet.
-
was great. Now that all the mythology is out of the way - the flick can do whatever it wants. CAN. NOT. WAIT.
-
Espececially season three. Torrent it, Tube it, or wait for the dvd. It's the best network sci-fi show next to Lost. And captures the spirit of Files perfectly.
-
I hope they make a few more and let some of the staff writers take a shot. God, I can only imagine what a Darin Morgan X-Files movie would look like. Though, to give Chris Carter credit, he did write and direct The Post-Modern Prometheus, one of my favorites.
-
is skinner back, too? please oh please...
-
It's back!
-
I downloaded the first two seasons because I heard it was a good show. I actually made it about 10 episodes in before I gave up. It's the kind of show that relies on all of it's charaacters being complete morons in order to tell a story.
-
i do
-
Anyone that watches tv knows it takes awhile for most shows to hit its stride. Midway through season two, and especially season three, it hit its stride.
-
I thought they were the same thing now.
-
I believe, from his dvd review of the first season, he gave up early on. Also, about the "moron" thing, since it is inspired by the horror genre, their is a level of stupidity that has to come along with it.
-
He is the perfect director for the job, he created the show for christ sake. the last thing this movie needs is some big shot hollywood director coming up with his own ideas of what mulder and scully should be like. So much time has passed that i think carter is the only one who could pick the characters back up again and make us remember why we fell in love with them in first place
-
Are you forgetting the Scully -Mulder- Fowley situation?
-
Temple of Doom didn't suck. Just wanted to help you out there.
-
Mulder should have been on that shit by the second season. Would've saved a fortune on porn rentals as well.
-
I can't see it.
-
Can anyone else still get the video? Anyone have an alternate link?
-
With you on Raiders. Though I thought Last Crusade was pretty weak tea compared to it though, IMO.
-
But it appears YouTube is.
-
and I'm stoked about the new movie. But better than Indy 4? Pull your head out of your ass.
-
No, not a love quadrangle, but they milked the "will they or won't they" angle of Mulder and Scully up through the movie. (with the bee-sting aborted near-miss kiss between the two) Talk about a cock-tease! And the trailer was a total tease, but the crowd went absolutely ape-shit!
-
no matter what is shown.
-
w00000000000t
-
Sadly, it could not take The X Files. That is all.
-
Because I said so.
-
Dd X-files fans crash youtube??? I want to believe!!!
-
... is a great show, if you liked the X-Files episodes that dealt with ghosts/demons/monsters it's probably something you can enjoy. It's sort of a cross between Buffy and the X-Files. Plus Lauren Cohen is in it and she's hot.
-
It was the hundreds of millions of people who needed to see Fred Armisen's debut as Barack Obama on SNL

IS IS THE USS VOYAGER?!!!
-
This is about 5 years too late. I hope it does well, but unless it has a major stand-alone story, most people will have forgotten and it will tank. But damnit I'll be there opening day!
-
This is just going to be fucking awesome! I loved the X-Files show (except, for the last few seasons), but seeing Mulder/Scully (Gillian is so hot) again puts a big smile on face. Can't wait. I want to believe again.
-
in some decent way. Hell, the actual series itself couldn't do that.
-
lvoed bits of the series, it wnet on too long, never got to finish it as all the conspiracy stuff, just dragged on and on. saw the final epsiode and wondered what the hell was that. never saw the first movie either. but carter mulder and scully gotta eat, so good luck to them, and i hope those that see it enjoy themselves

-
Can't wait for the movie. Maybe, just maybe, there'll be one movie this summer that is both entertaining and not an insult to the audience's intelligence. . . Maybe.
-
You know it.
-
STOP RAPING OUR CHILDHOODS!!! Even though I was in my 20s when the show was on. HOLY FUCKIN WOW!!! STOP RAPING OUR MINDS!!! STOP!!! THE!!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAPEEEE!!! Oh, but Scully definitely needs to be tentacle raped. Okay, tentacle fondled then. Like it dry humps her and shoots alien goo in her face and shes all like, "OH GOD YES THIS IS SUCH A CONSPIRACY!!!" cause she really needs some sex cause Mudler is such a cold fish (pssst closet gay).

-
Whatever, I don't care. The Files is back and will fit in perfectly with today's world. This show needs to become a series of flicks. Welcome back Mulder and Scully. Now can Thomas Veil re-emerge?
-
better than indy 4..yeah right
-
Or Fred Ward? What this trailer needs is a flaming leg kick into oblivion.
-
running, faces, and a human being being dragged by something unseen.
-
Make this the law.
-
wow, thought this was going to be a 2009 release. I can't tell what's going on in the trailer, but the audience sure seemed to like it. :-/
-
You seem hellbent on bad mouthing Indy Jones 4 based on 90 seconds of footage so why even bother seeing the entire film? More than likely you’ll trash it regardless of quality if only to vindicate your initial (and frankly premature) musing based on a teaser trailer. You write good reviews here at AICN and there is plenty to see in the upcoming months so why not leave this one to some actual fans of the franchise? Seriously, you sound downright pissy when it comes to this film and it’s unnecessary.
-
The Indy4 trailer doesn't quite suck, it does look underwhelming though, and I'm sorry but Ford just doesn't have the physical presence he used to have. He just looks old and scrawny to me - and a movie built up from sequences that go OLD MAN -> STUNT MAN -> CGI -> STUNT MAN -> OLD MAN just seems a bit sad... Also, in all fairness while Raiders was a masterpiece neither of the sequels that followed were even close quality wise. In case you haven't noticed every genre piece Spielberg has done in recent years has been phoned in. They tend to contain one or maybe two sequences that show how fucking great Spielberg can be, but the rest is just meh...
-
Seriously people are excited for this? All ten of you? Gillan and David look embarrassed in those pictures.
-
Looking forward to this. I like that Billy Connolly is in it. He chooses interesting roles considering his colorful background. Will he be wearing his black full-body leotrard and banana slippers while strumming a banjo? lol
-
the wrap up to Mulder's sister's disappearance. What a fucked up resolution to that whole story. She just up and became a spirit? The fuck was that?
-
But really, there's nothing to go nuts about with those few images. Like many, I was a huge X Files fan in the mid to late nineties. I used to buy those magazines with the whole new season overview, I even had the I WANT TO BELIEVE poster in my bedroom as a teen. And like everyone else, my interest started fading away with the 5th season when they started including more and more comedic episodes like Bad Blood. The 6th season saw the show lose its gritty mood with the relocation to LA, but it was still ok. And then I stopped watching with the 7th season. Curiously, my favorite episodes were always the Monster-of-the-Week episodes. I was always eager to discover which new mutant would be featured in this week's show, which special characteristics he would have. And I also loved the very dark, supernatural episodes like Die Hand Die Verletzt, which dealt with a satanic cult; or Excelsis Dei and its haunted hospital; Syzigy and the two little sluts who played witches; or the psycho episodes like the one with the guy cutting the word SISTER on his female victims chest.
On the other side, if the mythology episodes were interesting in the beginning, it became way too confused and complicated. Anyway, we will hopefully have a great two-hour loner, moody and gritty, just like it was back in 1994-1995. Rainy weather, Mark Snow's score, and a monster/unknown entity plot. It will be great. But please leave the alien perspective. No shit from space that remained buried in the ice for thousands of years, please. -
Quality isnt good but here ya go:
http://www.gamingshogun.com/Article/1010/X-Files_2_Teaser_Trailer_and_Release_Date -
HAve to agree with Gillian. I just rewatched Bad Blood and that is by far my favorite Ep. From Luke Wilson's novelty teeth to Mulder's theme from Shaft "shut yo mouf". And "well, he was kind of, knawed on" -AD Skinner. Awesome Ep.
