GMA Gets Crystal Skullier!! INDY IV Teaser Trailer Thursday Morning!!
Merrick here...
The long awaited, highly anticipated, exhaustively discussed "teaser trailer" for INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL will debut Thursday on ABC's GOOD MORNING AMERICA (yeesh), and make its way to Yahoo movies, the official site, and theaters shortly thereafter.
Word is the trailer will air between 8-9am...no time zone specified so I'm not sure how that works out.
So says the film's official site!
GMA, hunh? They're making us work for this one. 'Tis for reasons like this wise souls created DVRs, I suppose. Are there any news babes on GMA now? Where there ever?

Can't wait.
-
Can't wait for the trailer.
-
I guess I'll have to wait a few extra hours until someone posts it. Anyway, I think I'm more excited for the Pineapple Express red-band trailer that I have loading in another window anyway.
-
the redband Pineapple Express Trailer can be found over at Joblo
-
It'll be broadcasted sometime between the shitty human interest story and lousy weather forcast.
-
The marketing giants are going to try to rejuvenate the populous that loved Indy and now have grown! I think this is a GREAT idea. Win over the former loyal fans that grew up with the good Doctor. All of use will see it no matter what. They are going back to the well, and I bet they will find what they are hoping for.
-
GMA score this tidbit?? I think I'm gonna wait for the HD trailer to hit the net.
-
commercials for Depends and Fixodent denture adhesive? That's how Indy is able to keep his hat on these days. Using Fixodent, not depends. Zing!
-
Talk all over the first thirty seconds of it with it playing in a little square behind them, then cut off the end to go to commercial.
-
Well, if I'm home, that is.
-
for shittiest title EVER. Congrats, who do you want to thank?
-
Blow the trailer back to God.
-
Good morning america is in HD. Hopefully they'll present the trailer in HD as well.

I've waited this long, I guess I can wait for the internet relea
by atticus finch
No way I'm sitting through the banality of GMA!
-
8:55-ish. They'll milk every commercial break, "And later...He's back!"
-
and it's a video one, so you could probably download it
-
actually, no. Fuck that.
-
lets put it down? why? why would i wanna try and recapture my youth again? when movies are so good today...hahaha! lets cheer this movie on and hope it brings back some of that much needed late 70's 80's magic movies used to have. don't ya want that again? i'm talkin to people my age 30 and older. the young tweens don't factor in this
-
to get in the mood. I watched Raiders last night. Still awesome after all these years, and Last Crusade tonight. Watching the end of Raiders is interesting now that I know we'll see the warehouse again.
-
That is all
-
What happened to Temple Of Doom? You're not a TOD hater are ya? Sometimes I feel like myself and Harrison Ford are about the only ones who still highly rate that flick...
-
I like it, but not as much as the other two. The Indy stories are all separate anyway, you don't really have to watch them in order.
-
...that the skulls belonged to fucked up deformed people and not actually aliens. This red herring Lucas is tossing out there is weak.
-
I would have liked to have seen him turn up in the sequels. He was just like Indy, but he went to the dark side.
-
He's afraid Al Roker will eat all the ham.
-
Anyways I'm really looking forward to the teaser, but I hope they don't give away too much. They don't need to do much to sell this film, so I'd rather them not spoil too much in the teaser and trailer(s) that come out. I just want to see enough to tell me that they've managed to recapture the magic, really that's all they need to do in my book.
-
Or like the TPM teaser where it started out slow, and then it got faster and faster,
-
Cause why would you want your trailer to preimer on the highest rated morning show? This is pay back for Matt Lauer revealing what a douchebag Tom Cruise is right before War of the Worlds came out.
-
couches this time.
-
I'm not to sure I want to see a 60 year old Indiana Jones. They should have made this movie at least ten years ago.
-
this year.
-
It's the new Indy trailer! at least wait til you've watched it before slagging it off!?
-
doing pretty well.
-
"A steven spielberg film" title card is in the teaser.
-
...don't forget to bring your ham
-
cuntsmacks
-
It's not just a series of smoky, backlit shots of the hat and whip sitting on a stone alter or something. That'll really piss me off. I don't get out of bed at that time for anything less than action footage.
-
Indy is watching some kids play baseball in his yard and he yells, "Get off my lawn!"
-
Sure Raiders is the best but all three films rock my world. TOD has Short Round (get bent haters), that opening scene with all the tommy guns(tommy guns automatically give a movie a 1 star boost), Mola Ram, that kick ass bridge scene, the bit where Indy goes for the gun and it's not there, and the most bad ass Indy moment where the the light on the mine car pans up to a pissed off Indy who then decks the guard and frees the kids. Awesomeness I say!
-
That's obviously Eastern Standard Time, considering the show is broadcast from New York City.
-
You can join my club. I hear there's three of us now. Seriously though, there's so much to love in Temple Of Doom that I'll never understand the backlash it's gotten over the years. Sure, Raiders is the best, but damn I love me some Doom. It also had the best Indy poster ever with the teaser poster of a badass Indy standing there with his whip and machette, looking ready to kick some ass.
-
It's better than Last Crusade by miles. I rewatched them and Temple has aged very well whereas Last Crusade has not. I had a hard time watching Last Crusade in fact.
-
but I hate the sound of that guy's voice
-
"This, this *is* history."
Yes, I am trying to keep a child-like optimism about this film, thank you very much. -
Hell no you guys aren't alone, TEMPLE OF DOOM is easily the second best Indiana Jones film. TEMPLE OF DOOM is a first rate ADVENTURE film with Indiana Jones at his baddest. LAST CRUSADE is a comedy/road movie with Indiana Jones at his lamest. NO comparison.
-
trailers?
-
The entire movie takes place in caves. Looks cheap.
-
I'm producing a reboot of Good Morning America. Casting Ryan Phillipe as David Hartman and Sarah Roemer as Joan Lunden.
-
for the creation of the PG-13 rating. The rating was an unfortunate move, which has had a profound, negative impact on film development and artistic freedom since its inception.
Oh, and Cate Capshaw's screaming and cheesy antics are like nails on a chalk-board. But still, not a bad entry in the series. -
We're gonna need it.
-
Screaming Willie, and that damn kid that saved Indy in every scene. Yeah, great, a top notch archaeologist gets saved by a kid.
-

Indiana (on Willie's screaming):"The biggest trouble with her...
by skinjob69
is the noise."
How true. -
I can deal with all of her screaming.......... because she has a FIRST CLASS RACK.
-
(sorry 'bout the blanks y'all- damn laptop!)
-
Death Death Death
-
That part was cool, though.
-
Forget Good Morning America - WTF up with premiering it before Suckadick Cocksicles?
-
The year of Lucasfilm.
-
I think it's mostly because the structure is pretty poor. Too much action in the tail end that would have been better spread out across the narrative. The movie hits the mid-point then launches almost immediately into a way-too-long third act climax leaving its second act undercooked and the viewer exhausted. The tone is also admittedly cartoonish compared to Raiders which turns a lot of people off - fair criticism. _____ That said - I still love it. Indy is badass, the set-pieces are phenomenal, Spielberg's direction is tight as a drum and don't forget the giant balls on that musical score. Count me in on that fan club, boys.
-
Last Crusade is like Return Of The Jedi...i.e. a slapstick remake of the original film made because too many people complained about how "dark" the middle film was. I like Crusade and ROTJ, but the middle films of both trilogies kick ass.
-
Ford. Doom has an Indiana guy and a Chinese kid.

Is ABC mistaken about John Rhys-Davies appearing in Indy 4 like they say in the above link???? They say....Indiana Jones Then and Now
John Rhys-Davies' name may not be as familiar as those of the other actors from "Indiana Jones," but his face is unforgettable. Even when he was covered in heavy makeup as the horny dwarf Gimli in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, Rhys-Davies made his presence known. He appeared in the first and third installment of "Indiana Jones" and will appear in the new film this year.

I go to an Indiana Jones movie to be entertained. Temple of Doom was merely a cheesy gross-out fest. The film lacks the core, soul, and purpose defined by Raiders and Crusade. Also, comparing Doom to Empire as being kickass is jackass.
-
a fatty chode.
-
...change the channel.
-
ABC ain't got shite
-
We already got Rambo this year. Here's to another welcome return.
-
You can have Skywalkerfamily's place in the TOD club, he's fallen to the dark side of the TOD haters. one9deuce and Laserbrain, you're both in too. And Osmosis Jones, well said sir, well said, and I agree. Though I still enjoy Last Crusade as well.
-
...on the TOD fan club. Coolest Indy moment ever: Indy, having recovered from the "spell", standing up to the thugee guard with Williams' rousing score swelling in the background as we see the steely, murderous look in Indy's face. Gives me chills every single time.
Pure cinema magic. -
Three times in a row. It was pretty fuckin sweet. One of the few perks of a projectionist.
-
Ah, that tank horse chase is awesome. One of the best action sequences in any movie.
-
...they told me that I GOTTA EAT!!!
-
I love all of them, but much prefer TOD to Last Crusade.
-
Got the box set for christmas not seen any of them for a while. I've got to say the one I enjoyed most was Temple.
Short Round kicks ass, should be in the new one as an adult not The Beef. Don't get me wrong I love Raiders but TOD has always been my favourite -
DocPazuzu & Lost Jarv are now on board, soon the TOD fans shall be legion! Or, you know, at least into double figures...
-
They just tryin to get you to watch an hour's worth of BS and commercials before said prize. That's how the programmers work. Don't fall for it. Frankly I can wait until Friday to watch it online if need be.
-
Indy and Short Round accomplished more in that movie than the other two combined (saves child slaves, saves village from famine, destroys cult). And then you get the whole bonus setup club scene. It was a roller coaster ride. Not to mention one of the most quotable movies in history. Crusade ... let's see ... all's I remember is Indy and Connery strapped to a chair, spinning on a rotating fireplace, and the last scene going to the grail lair.
-
TOD kicks rightious ass and everyone knows it. I've been waiting for it to get the respect it deserves in these talkbacks. Every time I read one of these things people are always talking about how great crusade and Raiders are. All respect in the world to those two but I still say Temple is better. Tony Jaa for short Round in the new film, you know it makes sense.
-
And I still prefer Raiders over them all, because in the words of NoDiggity, it was Indy being Indy. He was himself, and he didn't care about his fedora hat. Which is Indy not being Indy. So Raiders is the best because it was really Indy, and not an Indy caring about his hat. Or his whip. Just Indy. For real. Indy.
-
always was when I was growing up. Raiders is probably the better movie, but I love me some DOOM and snake suprise
-
Anyway, I've got it all mapped out. Wake up at 7 to watch the trailer at 7:58 (bullshit they don't know what time the trailer will air to the point that they have to give us an hour range) then get to work and watch it online (it will be online SHORTLY after GMA, then at 11:45 buy a ticket to Spiderwick, buy Sour Patch Kids and a water and watch the trailer on the big screen, then get up as the movie starts and head back to work - with a half bag of Sour Patch Kids ( bonus bitches!) Then watch LOST at 7 and ...oh yeah do the whole Valetines Day thing with the ho.
-
Raiders is the classic but Temple has so much going for it. The bridge scene, the minecar chase and the club scene are three of the defining Indy sequences, not to mention all the great stuff throughout - the vicious voodoo, the monkey brains dinner, the come-ons between Indy and Willie, Short Round being nowhere near as annoying as the kid actors we have today ("I small! You cheat big!"), the score, the spot-on direction and editing. I think the main problem it has is that it feels a bit claustrophobic - it takes place over two or three days or two or three locations, whereas Raiders and especially Crusade are grand, epic adventures over many countries, lots of outdoor action sequences and sequences of Indy being a professor (which helped ground the character). That's not to say this detracts from Temple, just that it feels different. But saying you prefer one Indy film to another doesn't make any of them bad.
-
Why does no one debut their trailers on Apple anymore? Jesus
-
I love Indy but TOD fails. Capshaw is hideous, all the children are annoying and the villains were lame. Even the effects are somewhat sub par.
Hope the new one doesn't suck too much. I just want to hear the theme in a theater again. -
I watched it recently for the first time since I first saw it. It had a few redeeming moments ... Short round was a cute spunky funny kid, and delivered his lines with panache. Kate Capshaw looked hot when her "I Dream of Jeanne" outfit got wet, but otherwise it was awful. Noisy, retardedly illogical, with one of Williams' worst scores (he had to continually score for "jittery action" all throughout). It seemed to be aimed at 5 year olds, and then it would switcheroo to removing beating hearts. Watching TOD and CRUSADE back to back made CRUSADE look good.
-
It's like going on a date with a dumb girl with a nice tits. It's not the brains it's the beauty of TOD that is simply wonderful.
-
Make with the description, what up, tell us what we should be excpecting to see yo!
-
It's a great series of films. They just get better and better. The only complaint I have about Last Cruade is the ending where Sallah makes fun of Indy because he took it from his dog. Hey dude, Indy saved you a bunch of times and you laugh at him?
-
and it'll hit AICN between 8:05 and 9:05 am tomorrow (Eastern time?)
-
and Indy was mad at him because he stole some horses instead.
-
Just a couple bits that i remember clearly. It opens and shows segments from the previous films with words like "First he found the Ark..." blah blah blah. Then shows a shot of Indy being thrown on the ground by a bunch of soldiers. Then moves into showing bits of a chase sequence in "the raiders warehouse". Some funny lines that i wont quote. Niagra Falls, Blanchett looking menacing, people rushing out of large temple, explosions, jeep chase on cliffs, eye-glasses magnetically stick to warehouse box, and shia saying "you're a teacher?", indy says "Part time". Some more after that, but you get the gist at least. IMHO it looks fucking good. Oh, and only one shot looks like typical Januz cinematography, the rest look in line with the old ones. So far, so good.
-
BTW it will be on Jumper, Definitely Maybe, and step up 2 in most places as well. Thats if the projectionist at your local theater didn't take it for himself already. Like I was going to before i decided against it. I dont want Lucas to ass-rape me! Unless he pays me a couple million and i can down a roofie first. If that were the case id let him take a dump in my mouth if he so desired, cause it aint like id remember it.
-
Shia comb his hair? Maybe a brush? Thanks btw
-
Only the one or two clear shots of shia in the whole thing. None of Marion or Abner.
