let's hope it goes over better than Idiocracy
-
and their last name is Goode........Oh I get it! Very amusing.
-
... Felicity Kendal, Penelope Wilton and Paul Eddington. Pilot episode deals with Tom & Barbara having a dispute with their neighbours Margo & Jerry over the new pig-pen being constructed in the Goode's garden.
-
Why is this on ABC?
-
according to eisner, it's over, though nikki finke says it aint true, yet.

Hope Stephen Root does a voice...

Doesn't exactly make me run to the Tivo to program this in.
-
Moral Oral with the risk factor turned way down.
-
It's Mike Judge. That means it gets a "Yay!" until proven otherwise.
-
...called Big Brother. And it made a lot of headlines. Ratings were good. Stories days old. Yet I guess, according to logic here, it just 'aint't cool' enough. Well, ah, shucks. Let's hear about anothe failed Judge project, y'all. Yuck!
-
Someone had to say it.....
-
you do realize that there is already a talkback for your reality TV shitstorm Big Brother, yeah?
-
I would like a no ha ha toon on primetime that is serious maybe go with violence this time and action. I think Star Wars would cover this soon but I don't get why all the comedy?
-
Because generally speaking, any sort of animation in the US has a lot of barriers to overcome. For the most part people still see it as being for kids, etc. (you'll run into plenty of adults who are embarrassed to admit even liking something like Ratatouille, for example). As a result, TV and movie animation generally has a pretty high barrier to overcome... although fortunately, this seems to be loosening a little bit; Persepolis seems to have avoided this pitfall.
But I think the idea of animation = kids stuff has meant that most animation in the US has to at least be in the comedy realm to do fairly well.
Certainly it's not to say that serious animation isn't possible - it goes without saying that if you look to, say, Japan, where animation is used for a pretty wide variety of genres, you can find plenty of serious animation out there. It just probably wouldn't do that well here. -
Cavemen or Carpoolers or Notes From The Underbelly or fill-in-the-blank-of-crappy-ABC-comedy. I'm still pissed that they canned Knights Of Prosperity. Donal Logue's gotta eat! (Had to bring back gotta eat 1 mo time)
-
Would you do another Beavis & Butthead movie at some point? You can't abandon what made you famous! Beavis demands this. Don't cross Beavis.
-
credibility left since he shredded it all away on that movie. Idiocracy. its not for the first time a great comedy idea has been ruined and it wont be the last. but that movie stank.
-
a pretty crappy premise. He should have tried to avoid the pseudo-sitcom setting that's been copied by every animated series since the Simpsons (with the exception of Futurama). Look what happened when The Family Guy creator just made another family with different personalities, we got American Dad. Now that show is an abomination.
That being said, I've been catching King of the Hill every now and again. I kind of forgot about that show but after watching some older episodes and some newer ones, I now remember how good it was. Underrated to be sure. -
What a great movie! And it is always amusing to watch the idiots too stupid to understand it self-identify. But if this show is on ABC, there is no way it will be even one quarter as sharp. My guess is it will be a duller version of Moral Orel.
-
They have taken each person on the show and lampooned them to the point where it's no longer funny. For instance Luanne used to be kind of dumb but big hearted, now she is retarted and selfish. I used to think that that show could never piss me off but just the way they killed off Cotton was enough to make me cancel it from Tivo. I just pray that fox keeps the Terminator show, that has been edgey and cool so far.
-
King of the Hill is like the second longest running cartoon, and FOX doesn't promote it at all. New KOTH has NOT sucked, it's just been just as consistent and in-character as the rest of the 12 years.
-
I'm with DanielKurland on this one. KOTH is probably the ONLY show I've seen in the last decade that is consistently consistent. It's hands down one of the best written sitcoms out there. And notice I didn't say "cartoon". Cause it's NOT really a cartoon. It may be animated but you could take any episode in the show's history and film it with living human actors and it wouldn't miss a beat. Hank and Bobby's relationship may be one of the most realistic and honest father/son character studies I've ever seen in a half hour sitcom.
-
true story. This year will be the best year yet. Consistently funny.
At least they got over the catch phrase "The Boy Ain't Right" -
Loved that stupid movie. The Great Trash Avalanche of 2505. Disposable clothes. Monday Night Executions. Starbucks Lapdances. "Extra BIG ASS Fries!"
-
I guess the family will be the straight-man of the show and everyone else will be riffing like a lunatic.
-
of idiocracy is there are some here on the talk back who would love to see a film called ASS. that is why ang lee's hulk bombed. that is why the new hulk film will not bomb. it is made for audience who love nothing better than to see a giant ass on screen. but it doesnt explain why Rambo bombed either.
-
america going glug glug glug down the toilet. it is scary how accurate that film actually is. after electing a two term doofus. America may get either get McCain or Clinton. We are looking at a McCain and huckabee ticket. What does this have to do with idiocracy. Huckabee in picking his team cannot ignore CHUCK NORRIS. Chuck NORRIS as secretary of state. is horrifying prospect. Rent idiocracy and watch your future. Judge was not so far of the mark. one day who knows if things do go to pot you can all expect President Norris. no really....
-
one of the funniest things I have ever seen. My cousin who is an animation producer and I laughed untill we were sick. saw it in california in my aunts house. genius.

Your kids are starving. Carl's Jr. believes that no child should go hungry. You are an unfit mother. Your children will be placed in the custody of Carl's Jr. Carl's Jr...”Fuck You, I'm Eating."

It's Mike Judge but it's on ABC. I don't know what to think.
by gimpinmypants
Hoping for another brilliant television series from Judge.
-
So long as you adhere to a strict formula of basing your cartoon on a zany family and their wacky friends!
Wouldn't want to have balls and try something new with no track record of success now would we? OH BOY I sure can't wait for this! -
Yall should look this up. There's a point by point contrast/comparison between President Bush's State of the Union address and the Prez Dwayne Alazondro Mountain Dew Kamacho's State of the Union address. It's hilarious how well Idiocracy's address matches a real one.
-
i mean sad
-
Let's face it- whatever he touches is gold I tell you. Gold!!!
-
I loved Office Space-who didn't?-and Idiocracy, but I absolutely despise King of the Hill; hate every second of it. But then, I like Family Guy, so there's no accounting for taste I guess. If this new one is going to be like Morel, I'll be pleasantly pleased.

not dance with a dog?"
-
After 50 years!
-
This sounds lame, but everything he has done to this point has been stellar. It rates a watchin'.
