Kate Hudson's got some mighty BIG EYES!

Published at:  Feb 06, 2008 12:10:08 PM CST

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I reported on this project, the newest from Larry Karaszewski and Scott Alexander (PEOPLE VS. LARRY FLYNT, 1408), called BIG EYES about painter Margaret Keane.

Kate Hudson is now on board to play the painter, whose art was originally credited to her husband, Walter, a not nice guy who took his wife's talent and literally stole it for himself.

This flick marks the directorial continuation of Alexander and Karaszewski and, depending on whether or not the SAG contract gets a quick deal (like the DGA), will begin shooting in June.

I don't know enough about Keane's life to figure if Hudson's perfect for this movie, but I can say I think she's adorable and if they get her back to an ALMOST FAMOUS-like characters then it could be a very good flick.

    Yes it's true...

    by catlettuce4

As I recall, it got pretty ugly and she took him to court over the issue. The judge finally settled it by giving them both a canvas and saying, "Ready? Paint!" Walter's response was something along the lines of, "Oh, my hand. It hurts. I can't paint today. But I really did all those other ones, I swear." And his wife meanwhile executed a painting just like she always had, making it pretty clear that she was the one doing them the whole time.

For a minute there I swear Hudson was...

Ready to remake "Overboard" soon. I'm glad she is doing something different. She is talented. And while most of her Romantic Comedies are unwatchable (like the one where her sister died and left her the kids), How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days wasn't at all bad when I saw it on TNT a few weeks back. She is just naturally charismatic like her mom. But it's time for her to actually challenge herself.

    the Harry cartoons

consistently they are being used lately as his way of admitting things about himself, almost in a 'body thetan removal' kind of process. He's expunging from his soul all the horribly guilty parts by showing them to us in these subtle ways. Sometimes, it comes out in his horribly bad updates (google AICN+Speed Racer for a real treat), but the content of the toons are starting to show some very disturbing psychological issues.
I predict a real-life "bedroom window" event in his immediate future, and not in a good "James Stewart" way but in a very bad "Steve Guttenberg" way.
