Does this look pretty kick-ass for a cartoon aimed at 6-year-olds, or am I just all worked up because Marvel put Foo Fighters on the trailer’s soundtrack?

    by gigantis2000

I guess considering the demographic it does look pretty cool. In general, though, it looks like Wolverine is being made into too much of a hero, like in X3. We all know how bad that was...

I'll be skeptical until I actually watch some of it. Could be good, could suck. We'll see.

    by simndermot

Great, one more thing to see Wolverine in. Go ahead Marvel, put him in everything, he isn't even close to being over-exposed. Three X-men movies focused mainly on him, he is in every damn comic Marvel puts out, and is getting his own movie. Marvel, you do realize you have a few other characters people like, right?

    by jabberwockey

From what i can see it looks like they are developing the story line that got the x-men to their peak in the mid-nineties. There are sure to be a few changes in the maturity level of the story arc if they look at the neilson demographics and find that they are tracking well with the older crowd ie: ME! If they can live up to or even exceed the nineties X-men cartoon i'll sit on my geeky ass and watch it.

Animation looks like X-Men: Evolution, and that's a good thing for sure. This looks like an improvement: wish that show hadn't been set in a high-school era... not that I have any sense of shame when it comes to comic-based toons :P . Speaking of which, I think Herc deliberately left The Amazing Spider-Man off his premiers list... March 1!

    by sudynim

and by that I mean discusing group dynamics in a fictional world. I can see the Avengers disbanding but not the X-men. They're like a family almost and I don't see them ever abandoning each other. And to tell you the truth, I really hate the archetype of the "gone-from-the-glory-days-but-we're-rejoining-to-try-to-capture-some-of-that-faded-stardust" story. Like in GhostBusters II, just wasn't as good as the first.

I like that even though Wolverine's name is in the title the rest of the X-Men don't seem to get downplayed too much. WHY

    by rufferto

Why can't the art look like this for Spectacular Spider-man? The art for that show is disgusting! That's going to be The Batmanesque over rated garbage but this THIS I'll watch. I think Wolverine has a good voice that reminds me of 90's Logan. It looks like X-men Evolution but I can tell it will be better then it. But we'll see how much better.

    by brandloyalist

Though I don't dispute that it's very badass and very Wolverine -- X-Men dialog about mutants can sound very funny out of context, and I happen to be the proud owner of a small .wav collection of unintentionally funny lines about mutants from the 90s cartoon. "You were elected to protect us from mutants!" "Help us... to fulfill my dream... working for a better future for all... mutant and human alike." "It's true. I *am* a mutant." And many more. Looking forward to grabbing some more when this starts up, heh heh.

When will they learn to put Peter on the team right from the start? They always dick around and introduce him way into the series. More of him in X-Men 3 could have saved that train wreck. Him and the Juggernaut going at it would have been classic.

    by oisin5199

was that that trailer was more kickass and true to the characters than the entirety of X3. I love that it showed an actual story arc and this wasn't just an 'adventures of'. And that it was a well-rounded selection of characters (points for Domino!). I loved the "your son's a mutant. Deal with it" line. And Cyclops blasting Wolverine out of his apartment. Not quite as good as the bedroom scene in Astonishing. But still pretty cool for kids. This may be the first Marvel show for kids in the last 10 years I might actually watch. Couldn't stomach the cg Spiderman and FF cartoons, which were way too dumbed down.

    by theghostwholurks

Wall-to-wall action, Scott despondent and useless without Jean, Brotherhood vs. X-Men vs. mankind, Xavier apparently blasted to hell, one of the X-Men joins the Brotherhood... You can't claim to love one while hating the other, especially when this cartoon has so obviously ripped off so much from the last film. Just like the whole "You're son's gay/a mutant" thing was stolen from X2.

Jesus Christ. I think we need to get the guy who did the Clone Wars animated series on Cartoon Network (Gennedy Tartarofsky? Something like that?) to make an X-Men animated series. THAT would be cool. This seems just like that X-Men: Evolution show from a few years back, except somehow worse.

sorry, but I certainly can like one and hate the other. Watch me. Sure, some of the major beats are the same, but Wolverine's confrontation with Cyclops in that trailer had way more emotional resonance and was more true to the characters than X3, which totally wasted Scott as a character, wussified Wolverine, and rushed over every chance to make the story count for something. This just looks like better writing than X3, period. Like these guys actually read an X-Men comic.
