Luc Besson... Liam Neeson... TAKEN teaser!
Hey folks, Harry here... Oh... I like this trailer... I think this was completely off my radar. Luc Besson produced and written story... Starring Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace... Oh... and from the director of DISTRICT 13 - which was non-stop asskicking. There's no details on when this will be coming to the U.S. - looks like Fox has the rights - but no announced release date, as of yet. It'll be hitting in France in late March though. Here ya go...

-
Liam? Fammke? This sounds and looks great! Sound just like the plot for Ransom with Mel Gibson. Could be good.
-
Luc Besson produced movies always suck (especially those Taxi movies). Wish he'd direct more.
-
In the filmmakers, I mean. I have absolute confidence that Liam Neeson can and will find me and kill me. Neeson rocks.
-
Oh, I thought this was the Indy IV talkback. Carry on.
-
Liam + that speech = my skeptical interest has been grabbed.
-
Mmmmm....Famke.
-
Looks a bit too generic for me...I mean, I love everyone who is involved with this film...but I don't know...trailer really doesn't do anything for me. Where the hell is the sequel to DISTRICT 13 that they keep talking about?! That's what I want to see.
-
There is nothing about Liam Neeson that says "threatening" to me.
-
That looks badass!!!!!
-
Looks bad ass. Although Liam's speech about how he's going to kill their asses sounded like a radio commercial.
-
Not even his part as Decard in Batman? I thought he made a decent villain.
-
Next of Kin 2! Can't wait to see this. I'll need a bib for the drool!
-
sucks at storytelling but enjoys directing. And in case you haven't noticed, he doesn't direct this. The hack who did District B13 does. Lucas wrote this, like he wrote Taxi and other shitty money grabs of this ilk... NEXT!
-
Edit button, bitches!
-
I hate Patrick Swayze.
-
this is coming out in france in "late march?"
it says the date at the end of the trailer.
february. -
please be great
-
And "Frantic" is a fucking marvellous movie.
-
How can you not be stoked? That looks so kick ass. I want to see it, like, now.
-
Very nice...
-
..for everyone living in a cave the last few years. Then there was this shitty Fog-Remake, but let´s forget about that pretty fast. And BTW the Original "Taxi"-movies where not half as bad as that botched Hollywood-Remake.
-
Perhaps not that original but still worth a look if Luc Besson is involved.
-
bye the way.
-
Having grown up in a military family and known more then a few highly trained individuals, its the ones like Neeson that don't look badass that you really should be scared of. There's a differance between "action star" and highly trained, competant killer. I can easily buy Neeson as the latter. I mean DeNiro didn't look all that intimidating in Ronin but you can't tell me he wasn't badass in that.
-
Luc Besson = Shit. He hasn't made a good movie since LEON.
-
I'd love for a hollywood film to actually cast a teenage actor as a teenage character.
-
I can't be scared by Liam Neeson ever since he did that "Tree in the wind!" thing in Nell.
-
This is "The Professional" meets "Ransom" and quite honestly... I like what I see.
-
"You got the gun. I'm unarmed. Do something. Go ahead. Do something. DO SOMETHING..."
****
You said it, man. 'Sam' is one of the most hardboiled, badass characters ever put on film. That whole movie was badass, right down to Skip Sudduth as the driver. But, between 'Sam' and 'Neil McCauley' in HEAT, DeNiro set a new gold standard for movie badasses in the '90s. -
Unless I see more decent trailers/reviews.
-
We can go to IMDB ourselves, thanks.
-
That's an awesome line, especially coming from Neeson.
-
Kicks ass. I am all over this.
-
Oh. Sorry, Luc.
-
I like it... but not as much as the chills I just got from that trailer!
-
Looks solid.
-
The kidnappers are probably in an attic with the stairs pulled up thinking they're perfectly safe...then they hear someone climbing up the walls...
-
as Harrison Ford? Interesting.
-
that kicks ass
-
Despite my initial hate for Neeson being totally whipped, caving in and sending his 17-year-old to Paris, the speech convinced me. Neeson goes to Paris, hooks up with Leon right? That would be sweet. We really need Leon 2 with a grown up Natalie Portman assassin.
-
they'd better watch out...
-
bad-ass! I have a very particular set of skills... interesting. This could be a great change of pace for Neeson. He's always playing these stoic types. It'll be good to see him get his hands dirty again. Famke remains ageless and gorgeous. And DB13 was pretty cool. I'm definitely there for this one.
-
But hey....I loved that teaser! Thought it was going to be one of those usual "Oh my God" panicky father movies, but man What a turn-around! Fair fucks to ya Neeson!
the Irish invasion is in full swing! -
http://tinyurl.com/2qqhs8 i tried getting someone to post it on here, but anyway, here ya go!
-
Thats my text impression of Liam pretending to be from Missouri.Thank you all!
-
And she traveled to paris?
-
wasn't that bad. This was the pre-fame Neeson of course. I only saw a bit of the movie, but he seemed good from what I saw.
-
It does look a little Ransom, which I didn't much like. But I do like Mr Neeson...yum, craggy...
-
Liam is my favorite actor, this looks like a "non-pussy" version of Ransom. can't wait!
-
Neeson was kick ass in that movie. Don't mess with a movie that has a snake bus, Patrick Swayze, and Liam Neeson.
-
a bit in your parts? You're always so monotone.
-
I'd be interested to know the breakdown of Dad and Non-dad talkbacker opinions posted here. As a father, especially of a daughter, this subject matter represents a nightmare I don't like to comtemplate. But if it did happen, it gives me a revenge-gasm just thinking about tracking down the scum, taking care of business, making it infinitely painful and getting away with it.
-
this looked like it would be kinda lame... until Neeson turned bad-ass on the phone - as long as its rated R , should be cool
-
look from Love Actually. Then, he turns it around when he makes the call. Calm, professional and pissed.
-
fuck all ya'll
-
some dudes will never learn!and Famke.........yumie!
-
need i say more?
-
this is what we've all been waiting for.... right?
-
At least I think it was Gawain. He was one of the knights in Excalibur. Star Wars and Star Trek actors in the same movie if you recall.
-
Get it right Jett for feck sake!!
-
Darkman returns. Liam always rock. This sort of reminds me of a very under-rated Harrison Ford film, Frantic.
-
My predictions:1. Programming TiVo for the 30-second skip.2. Using up every ounce of toothpaste before starting a new tube.3. Setting the brightness and contrast controls on the HDTV so the Ratatouille Blu-Ray really "pops."4. Staying healthy during flu season.5. Two words: DOUBLE. COUPONS.

What do you think you are some type of Jedi?
-
in Goodfellas. Calm, quiet, but get on his bad side and it was game over.
-
Now lets get that Taxi series on Dvd over here damnit.
-
Except I'm not huge on when they take insecurities of parents giving children freedoms then of course something terrible happens. Makes American mommies shit themselves and think it's real life.
-
Liam Neeson wants revenge. What can go wrong?
-
He will tickle you to death
-
Move along...Move along...
-
Havent't seen Neeson in this kind of role before. Looks interesting...ish.
-
why is it opening in France first? This looks cool just like any feelgood vigilante/revenge flick does but it worries me that it isn't opening here sooner.
-
There is always a visceral satisfaction in watching someone getting their revenge. Cause everyone has thought about it at some time in their lives. On that point this movie looks like it will deliver nicely.

Priest is BACK!
"Now, now, Bill, you swore this was a battle between warriors, not a bunch of miss nancies, so warriors is what I brought." -
Ras Al Ghul bad assery!
-
Plus, it has the Walken factor.
-
That was fucking awesome
-
is laughable. The rest of this trailer seems very interesting though.
-
I could watch Liam Neeson read, then beat up, the phone book.
-
...gets no respect. He was friggin' awesome in that film. And Tim Roth was spectacular as well.
-
You, sir, are fucking hilarious.
-
unfortunately it involves imbibing mass quantities of V8 Fusion and pop rocks.
-
I need some of that shiny metal ass!
-
If so that's either very poor writing or very good writing. Any character that can turn his personality around in a snap can be very interesting indeed. Or scary for that matter. Just dont' be more torture porn. Please.
-
Can't wait.
-
Even from where I'm sitting North of the 49th - one word: COOL...
-
This trailer has been around for over a month now.
-
Ok, now go sit in the corner, you fucking dunces. Watch High and Low, for Christ's sake. You know, mother fucking Akira Kurosawa?
-
This movie looks good. An oasis in the middle of all of this over-the-top and "edgy" crap desert we've been living lately.
-
Liam Neeson + District 13, made outside of Hollywood revenge movie? No, its gonna take names man.
-
I will kill you.
-
That's resume enough.
-
Fevrier is a word from a different language. Seems like both you and Harry are struggling with that concept.
-
MUST...WATCH!!!
-
Looks cool to me...always love a good "father goes batshit crazy" movie.
-
KRULL!
-
...Liam Neeson? What. The. Frack?
-
..I don't know. Everything he's done is sh*t (with "Léon" being the ultimate fluke example/exception in his *career*)
-
because she cannot separate the actor from the character he played in Rob Roy. Egotistical, narcicistic, rapist that he was played to the hilt (pun intended) by Roth. She just can't shake that image of him out her head.
-
He wrote Leon: The Professional, Nikita, and the FRENCH Taxi.... not the bastardized American remake of it.
-
Hi!I've just signed in,from my little town in France.I've been reading this site for weeks, finding it often fun and instructive, but I've never felt any envy to talkback.Until now..
AAAaaargh!!! (I don't know how to tell this in English)
Luc Besson has been rotting my life since I was a kid, then a teen and so forth until today (I'm 33),with his awful, demagogic, empty, pompous and stupid movies. In France,he plays around like if he was a S. Spielberg, always spitting on the critics ("I'm making popular movies"-my ass).Ten or twenty years after, nobody wants to watch them.He khows how to SELL movies, empty shells with a huge and shiny package...
AND he is an ass in life;he even sued a small magazine for an article who wrote that he sucked.
I know time will put him where he belongs, the vast trashcan of mediocre movies, but until then,he will probably continue to waste my movie fan life, make me lose my temper, and be ashamed of being French like him.
Luc,va mourir.
(Luc,just die.)
-
I still need to see District 13.
-
with the living force as my guide, I will smite you.
-
with the living force as my guide, I will smite you.
-
You guys get it...right?
-
kee-yaaahh@!
-
Seen this trailer a few months ago and it looks liquid cool. It's like they kidnapped Kim Bauer again. He better get the best Father's Day gift ever after this.
-
So, do they use spaces after periods and commas in France?
-
Sorry for the spaces(?).I'm not really a keyboard expert. But thanks for learning me a new word in english ('comma'/'virgule' in french).Voilà.Bye
-
...IF you please.
-
WTF with her casting?? First when she's like 18 they make her a wife with a teenaged daughter in Derailed (sucky movie) and now that she's in her 20's she's playing a teenager. Next she'll be in either Driving Miss Daisy II or High School Musical 4.
-
Wow a revenge /viglante movie. how original? I like Liam Neeson. He's a good actor but this is an over done cliche of a story line. I'm looking more forward to Neeson/Spielberg Lincoln film is that still in the works?
-
and I hope it really is like the trailer shows us... a fucking great action flic!
-
that Luc is the French version of Ratner.
-
She wasn't in Derailed, it was another 18 year old.
-
..but imagine that Ratner would be a successfull producer of Ratner-like movies.A lot of them, all equally terrible.(by the way,Luc is live on TV right now,in France.I've just seen his puffed of face with that sinister look of satisfaction..sigh..)
-
...but since so many here are weighing in on him: last good movie -- La Femme Nikita/ best movie: Le Dernier Combat. I think all his movies should be dialogue free. And I'm not trying to be an ass; I mean it. I think dialogue and plot exposition weigh his films down. He just doesn't seem to have the inclination to invest much in that stuff. Leon has my least favorite performance of Gary Oldman's career.
-
Probably generic, but it's good to see Neeson get an action role of sorts.
-
but the concept seems done before so i'll have to wait and see what's fresh about this..speaking of trailers have ya'll seen this one
check this out and tell me what ya think...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=zzmMnaXzEgQ -
Funny you say that, because my wife is the same. It's remarkable what a performance he put on and so few have seen it.
-
...awful. She managed to make Tom Welling seem like he actually wasn't a piece of wood in The Fog, which is no mean feat.
Also, she's a fucking idiot. If you will recall, she referred to Carpenter's The Fog as "the holy grail" of horror movies.
A complete talent vacuum and an utter twit. -
The fight in the casino is amazing.
-
I liked B13, fun little action flick
-
Seriously, this looks like "direct to DVD" to me...
