Hey folks, Harry here... THe Fed Ex Giant Pigeon Ad kicked unholy ass - but the game is molasses. Here's a spot for you to chat about all of this. I'm rooting for New York... fuck the Golden Team! Unless they win, in which case... Holy Fuck - two perfect seasons in my life. Are you watching? Of Course you are.

As per the game, I hope NE wins just because I think a perfect season is pretty cool. I don't much care about football though, but a perfect season is a heck of an accomplishment.
Go New England! -
is the ads. Sad to say, but SB Sunday became a giant commercial years ago.
-
you are the king of Obviousland
-
I prefer "Captain Obvoius", thankyouverymuch.
-
-that is.
-
Apparently this thread has showed up only on RSS readers. I make this guess base on the lack of comments.
-
I had my doubts the Giants could take this one, but holy shit!! What a great game and talk about an ending. I didn't really catch any ads, what was some of the best ones?

This iwill be the least trafficked SUPER BOWL talkback ever!
by wackybantha
A 2nd Super Bowl could have been played in the time between the end of the 1st one and the time this thread went live to ALL readers. However, since AICN has given me hours and hours of free infotainment over the years, I FORGIVE THEE!!!!!!!!!!
-
....since it didn't exist and all.
-
Actually--Harry, that was easily the BEST Superbowl I have seen in the past 3 decades...
-
The Commercials were the worst I have seen for a while for ANY Superbowl EVER...
-
Because it wasn't live until several hours AFTER the game ended.
By the way, that may have been the least-impressive collection of Super Bowl commercials I have ever seen. I have no idea what people will be talking about at the water coolers tomorrow. Maybe they'll have to fall back on discussing the game itself. Woe to all! -
Pretty harsh on Brady aren't you? A great quarterback who basically got his ass kicked.
-
And it aired on the NFL Network after the game. I hate the Dolphins, but the Welcome to Perfectville ad was awesome. We had the best Super Bowl since XXV and peeps are complaining about it? Fuck off. Anybody who watched for the ads needs to return their testicles. Or get the hell back in the kitchen if they were women...
-
lame traffic indeed.
-
I guess that cheaters really do never win.
-
Must go to e*trade. They were hilarious and memorable!
-
With the Giant Mouse coming out of the wall...it was perfect.
And Its great to see how many ppl on AICN like sports...I think I am the 30th post or some shit like that after a day of the game. -
And since he's such a good sport, he headed to the locker room while there was still one second of game time left. WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!
-
That was a good game. I'm sure a lot casual football fans would have found it boring in the beginning (I know my wife did), but it was a great game.
That doritos mouse ad was just bizarre. -
that was the best one. Bud light was marginally okay. The Doritos one I did laugh at because it was just out of nowhere.
The Sobe 'Thriller' Commercial was just horrible.
Remember when the commercials were events? Budweiser Frogs, horses playing football, making insane basketball shots to win a bag of Doritos, and of course, if you have never seen "Terry Tate: Office Linebacker" then you must google it now - possibly the greatest superbowl tv ad of all time. -
until the 4th quarter...actually his first possesion, he marched down the field and scored, then he went into "Gisele mode" where all he thought about was how good looking his bastard kids with her are gonna be...then he woke up again in the 4th but it was too late, Eli became a man last night...way to go Giants!
-
If you find yourself choking and unable to breathe, it is no longer suggested that you hold your hands around your throat and point to your back to request a Heimlich Maneuver.
Simply display the Patriots logo prominently. -
I fuckin can't stand him...unfunny..terribly unfunny.
-
A disgraceful choke on the part of the Patriots that will live in infamy.
-
I can't remember them all but I loved the Screaming Squirrel, the Budweiser Horses, The Baby Stock Broker, The Doritos, Justin Timberlake, Shaq on the Horse was a riot, and the Pepsi Max was funny too. My favorite was Charlie Brown. Sentimental favorite.
What was up with the Career Builder ads? They sucked. -
He's funny but his roles lately are all renditions of Ricky Bobby and/or Ron Burgundy.
As for the game, AMAZING!!! One of the best games I've seen. Way better then a high scoring blowout or offensive game. A nail biter the entire way. -
This may have been the best Super Bowl I have seen in my lifetime. Way to go Eli! The best commercial? the talking stain of course! Fucking brilliant!
-
Jesus H. Cookies, you nerds! Havent any of you more experience with football than just watching a playoff game or two? The Pats played excellently last night--its just that the giants were able to keep their blitz on with what has to be the best display of defense I've seen all year. I don't care who you are, if you get sacked 5 times and are on the rush throughout the entire game, you will not score points. The Giants simply shut down the patriots offense last night. Once that happened, it was only a matter of time until the offense was able to score points. The pats defense made a valiant effort, but in the end, even they had to bend. The only reason why I'm reading comments like "the game was so boring," or "Brady and the Pats choked!" is because a lot of you are a bunch of nerds unfamiliar with football and/or are raised on the modern Over-powered offense style of football. This was classic rumble in the jungle football, ladies and gents, and everyone who seen at least more than a handfull of games and can identify more than six plays thought that last night's game was one of the best superbowl games EVER!
-
I guess everyone was the problem except you, you really showed everyone, didn't you?
-
Their big ad, to get the most out of your HDTV... was one of the few commercials, not in HD... good one.
-
Um, he was manhandled all night and couldn't deal with the best defense in the NFL. End of story.
-
Need proof?

These mindless idiots voted the fucking dog and clydesdale ad as their favorite. The Barkley and D-Wade spot was easily funniest, and the NFL "Mr. Oboe" ad was just flat-out awesome. -
METS SIGN SANTANA GIANTS WIN SUPER BOWL, JOHN LOCKE IS BACK KNIFING PEOPLE, AND MARVEL ANNOUNCES A VENOM SPINOFF FILM
GO BIG BLUE, GO GIANTS, FUCK THE PATS!!!!!!! -
you could see it in his eyes..he wasn't there, regardless of the pressure coming at him...I will say this, I didn't know that the Atlanta Falcons Offensive line played for the Patriots, cause that's what it looked like...it reminded me of why Vick sucked...no time to do anything smart after the snap...
-

not like Vick was ever gonna do anything smart in the first plac
by hitchcock'n'balz
the Flacons never should-a traded Brett Favre...

And now? Wholeheartedly heartbroken. At the same time, I feel like even though I grew up in Maine and went to college in Boston and am justifiably a diehard Pats fan ... They were the bad guys this year. And that? It was like a Hollywood movie with a true Hollywood-style ending. Complete underdog victory, and a rousing one at that. I live in Manhattan now, and even I have to admit that when I looked out my window after the game and heard the whole city screaming out in joy, it tempered the loss a little for me. But just a little. What a terrible way to end the season; what an iconic failure. "Eighteen and one" is indeed the new Buckner.
-
LMAO, Xiphos.
There's another Forgetting Sarah Marshall trailer out there online ("red band"): http://tinyurl.com/2tfjdt. Because there can never be too much discussion of Kristen Bell on AICN. :) -
Ellis Hobbs is the new Bill Buckner. Hahahah. Hey Patriots, welcome to Loserville. Population: You.
-
Kevin and Bean have had an "I'm Eli!" segment that suggests exactly that, Xiphos, that he's a bit slow. Think they're gonna put that to rest today, however. :) http://www.kroq-data.com/index2.asp
-
Doesn't change the fact that he's got more Super Bowl wins than Dan Marino.
-
The podcast consists of highlights, but you can listen live at work until they stopped all streaming media there. If you're in my boat, you can drop by the Kevin and Bean archive:

Yes.
-
I haven't heard nearly as many excuses as I had expected. Guess that the Patriots fans are still stunned into silence. I love this audio clip they've been playing all morning of some guy from Boston making excuses for Ellis Hobbs, saying he doesn't mean to make excuses, but "sometimes the fibers get starchy" and it leads to slips. Haha.
-
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
The guy in the mouse suit was second best, though. -
It's on a local show. I'll see if I can find out who the hell it is talking.
Maybe the phones are quiet thanks to a mass suicide, the likes of which have not been seen since Hale Bopp? -
Does anybody know why Joe Montana wasn't present for the Bill Walsh thing yesterday? Kind of funny seeing Steve Young there to honor the guy. Maybe Joe still has a fear of the Giants thanks to the way Leonard Marshall ended his career in the 1990 AFC Championship game?
-
I know he's missed a super bowl in the past (was it last year?) because one of his kids had a game on the same day. I just was kind of surprised to see that he wasn't present for the Walsh thing.
-
Lucky guy, can't hate on that. I thought many of the ads were tasteless, a representation of our decline as a civilization. Too bad.

Guess you double post if you try to correct something before sending. Lame.
-
It's the true representation of where the clock should have been at 1:35 left in the game

Nuff Said.
-
Man, this site can't even get a Superbowl talkback right.
-
Geeks don't know nothing about football. A Madden 08 talkback would've been up on time though...
-
A mild NSFW warning, and when you see one scene in particular you'll wish you were Russell Brand. You'll know when. :)
*sighs* -
That is all!
-
Have your girlfriend massage your foot.
-
Huh? The guy in the mouse suit was recycled from last year! (Or was it TWO years ago?)
I was surprised to see a couple of recycled commercials during the superbowl. When you're paying millions for 30 seconds of ad time, put something NEW on that'll catch people's attention, not retreads... -
No matter how good a quarterback is, if the O-line lets defenders straight through without touching them, they're going to get sacked. I think The Giants defense was just tired from pounding the crap out of Brady the whole night when they got to the fourth quarter.
