A WANTED spot from The Super Bowl!!!
Hey folks, Harry here... I'm a huge fan of Timur Bekmambetov - the director of the Russian spectaculars... NIGHTWATCH & DAYWATCH - and WANTED is going to be his first English Language film, as well as his first Studio film and I have to say -I'm really excited about it. The look of the film is gorgeous - and I think the end results will be truly amazing. At least I'm hoping.

to really not give a damn about this flick.
-
Didn't even know this was on the horizon, but I like the vibe of it.. Love the Night/Day Watch movies...
-
Looks like a fun concept. I'd be interested in this.
-
Hoping the film is 1/10 as good.
-
How much more of this Matrix-ish bullshit action nonsense must be endured? And Jolie is one of the most annoying cunts on the planet. The bitch seriously has maybe three expressions she cycles through in every film.
-
This piece of crap has nothing to do with the comic.
-
This piece of crap has nothing to do with the comic.
-
This IS meant to be based on the Mark Millar book isn't it?
-
The Matrix was almost 10 years ago and we're still supposed to be dazzled by bullet-time? And James McEvoy is nobody's idea of a convincing action hero.
I wont be seeing this in a hurry... -
The quality is always pool and the Quicktime links never works. Very annoying.
-
for me to poop on.
-
So they took all the good bits (Superheroes, bizarre looking people, supervillains running the world, whole fucking point of the story) and left in the bit about a kid discovering that his dad was a really good killer. Why the fuck did they bother to use the name of the comic. Just call it "ZOMG! My dad was a baddie LOL!" and let somneone make a proper version of Wanted
-
WINO FOREVER
-
Tomorrow would be a pretty damn good time to unveil a Forgetting Sarah Marshall spot, yes?
-
Armageddon quotes = victory
-
i thought this looked good until my local comic book guy told me to buy the graphic novel. WANTED the book is so unbelievably fucking good, that seeing the trailers for this movie make me a little sad. i'm still going to see it, and hey, i might enjoy it, but it still sucks that this is going to be our WANTED adaptation. it would have been better if these guys just ripped off certain ideas from the book and just made a totally different movie.
-
It all looked fantastic and had some great ideas but fuck knows what was going on and why half the scenes were even in teh film as they didn't seem to have anything to do with the film.
-
Have they really ditched all the superheroes and villains and left it as just another Matrix/Equilibrium rip-off?
-
All I got from that was that there are some assassins who can shoot around stuff and do improbable things with cars. Do they have superpowers? Who are they fighting? What's at stake? Whatever. Looks retarded anyway. Morgan Freeman gotta eat, I guess.
-
I love Nightwatch but this is creative rape if I've ever seen it! They completely fucked the graphic novel up the ass and gave it the shits! For fucks sake, Morgan Freeman's character is supposed to be a white midget! Fucking Hollywood....
-
Yes! Yes they did! They gave up a potentially amazing and revolutionary take on the superhero/supervillain world, but instead they made a fucking gun-toting assassin movie! Very original....cough cough.
-
You mean poor man's Spike Lee? Ha!
-
I have no idea what you people meant by that little exchange, but it better not have been smack talk about Dinklage.
-
well... ok, then. Cause, well... ok.
-
Morgan Freeman's character should've been a white midget.
-
Screw Singleton. That asshole owes me money anyway.
-
This looks like ass.
I was expecting more ball-to-the-walls effects driven movie.MAYBE then Id've givent hsi one a shot., But the previews so far look like a LAME james bond film..
Ill pass ( COMEONE Timon...Daywatch was amazing visuaully-and it costs like 9 million??!! Here, you obviously had 10x's the budget-and looks like anal leakage..wtf?) -
A faithful adaptation of Wanted would be unwatchable. I too miss the fact that the superheroes being defeated by all the villians is gone. That is the one aspect of the story I felt was worthwhile. Otherwise we have villains teaching a completely unlikable guy to rape and mass murder. I'm going to give this a chance because I love Nightwatch and Daywatch, but I can't say I miss the completely amoral aspects of the graphic novel.
-
We're not gonna get Shithead! He was like the best supervillain. For anyone unfamiliar with Shithead, he was a 7ft walking blob, comprised of the shit of the 666st most evil men in the world. An amazing idea for a character! Wasted potential if you ask me...
-
This might be ok if you did not read the comic. If you did you are screaming WTF is this!!!!
-
I know what you mean. If they were to do Wanted straight from the source material, it would be the unfilmable equivalent of The Naked Lunch. That said, I'd love to see a movie where main characters are completely amoral, and it would be different. I hate the way when they're dealing with main characters being bad guys, they give them a conscience or make them funny. They're so afraid to break the mold.I think if it was treated in the right light, Wanted could've been a great movie for the fans. But now they're just going for the demographic...
-
When it was called The Matix.
-
A low-cost up-converting dvd player that plays "HD" disks too!!! Go team Go!!!
-
I'll see it.
-
Other than the name "wesley" There is nothing to connect this with the comic, which I loved. This is gonna be a big ol' soviet shit-bomb. "In soviet russia bad adaptations cry over YOU!"
-
I barely made it to the end of NIGHTWATCH with a grasp of what was going on but DAYWATCH totally blew it. As for this it had the hollywood piece of shit stamp from the very beginning, any self respecting geek can steer clear from crap like this easily, it's all in the trailers, everything you need to know.
-
Don't worry. I will.
-
I miss the comic :(
-
This movie looks not fun. They ditched all the cool super villain stuff and replaced it with some stupid "keeping the balance" nonsense and curving bullets? Really bad idea.
-
bring it!! I don't care!!!
-
Ugh. I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
-
movie!
-
That used Eminem's likeness as their superhero? - If so, no thanks.
-
It's got the wank stuff!
-
Day is clearly a cut above Night.

So that's the difference btw shooting a bullet and throwing it
by brandloyalist
Larry Miller take note!
-
TNT is like the 24 hour Tomb Raider channel.
-
Don't waste your $11.50. The source material was just empty shock-value posturing in the first place.
-
Bullet-time gags got old years back. But my main concern being the CGI stunts like the car picking up the guy standing there and the Matrix-wannabe feel to it. I thought maybe I'm just being a cynic but then I saw the part with the bullet that said "goodbye" or something on it and that sealed the deal right there -- this movie is a gimmick with goofy silly "cool" things that would have gotten my excited when I was a junior in high school.
-
He was unique in his gun skills! Fox and the old man couldnt do what he did, but now they're teaching him?

He shot well instinctually; he didnt throw knuckle balls
by george newman
this is gonna be a bit too preposterous.
-
...and a complete waste of the source material, which wasn't very good to begin with. But I really like McAvoy, and would like to see him do well. Plus who doesn't still want to skull fuck Jolie?
-
I just don't find Jolie hot anymore. I know if I banged her, she'd make me adopt some poverty-striken child and then force me to watch as she ate it!
-
how much Hollywood reined in Bekmu- uh, this Russian director guy. Day Watch had some truly grand, creative visuals, but also a lot that came straight from the Matrix (like the trailer for this movie shows). The story to Day Watch was also laughably convoluted, one of those movies where the director seems to be cramming every idea he's ever had into one movie, even if it means bloating it to 2 and a half hours when the story itself has no reason to be that long. The Russian director reminded me of Lucas: some really interesting visual ideas, but someone else really needs to control story structure. Still, since it was my first Russian movie, I don't know how much of what I found bizarre was cultural, and how much was just plain weird storytelling.
-
Are they aware of how fast a bullet travels. They really think that in the millisecond it would take to travel to that slab of meat they could curve it out and then in again after to go round it..Seriously is anyone else here REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY starting to hate Hollywood..I love the Matrix because it pioneered a great genre of special effects that completely Fitted to the story (a great story at that) because they existed in an artificially created reality. But how many movies do we have to have slow mo slides, jumps, bullets and ridiculous stunts the normal human body could never attempt or survive. It ruins the movie EVERY SINGLE time.
-
There were a TON of cool elements in Daywatch/Nightwatch but sadly they didn't amount to anything. I was somehow able to follow Nightwatch and was looking forward to Daywatch. But then Daywatch came and once again, the sum of its parts was greater than the whole.
Anyone ever see Ryuhei Kitamaru's "Versus"? I have a soft spot in my heart for that one...strange too because it made even less sense than Daywatch. -
I think R in Bowl is missing...

Geez, I could pick my teeth with those sticks for arms. Brad's just pumpin' a boney pelvis with no ham to grab onto.
-
Is really getting annoying... isn't she? Oh and Day and Night Watch are great flicks... totally recommended!
-
That is easy... they are freedom haters... I mean, how could you hate the U.S. unless you are freedom haters?
-
the protagonist will go from a "wet-behind-the-ears" rookie to an expert, bullet-curving assassin in the matter of a few "training courses" by Jolie and Freeman's characters. okay... i buy that.
-
In Soviet Russia, Matrix reloads YOU!
-
This looks horrible! What the hell are Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie doing in this tripe? This looks like a straight to dvd fiasco....
-
What relation does this bare to Millars great book?
Im geusing Universal have taken out all the controversial contnet and social comment and made a bog standard action film with only 2 characters from the book. And one of the characters is played by a walking skeleton who looks like a stiff wind would snap her in half.
Looks more like a Daywatch sequel to me....sack the screenwriter... -
flame if you wish, but it's true. damn true, to be exact.

This would be great...if it wasn't something calling itself "WAN
by spyguy
The WANTED I remember reading had supervillains in costume running around as if it was a SECRET SOCIETY OF SUPER-VILLAINS movie directed by Robert Rodriguez.
Mark Millar is a fucking $ellout.
-
but....I personally like the visual style...and Russkies have always been a little unconventional in their story structure
-
SERIOUSLY....ITS A MOVIE!! VISUALLY IT LOOKS ENGAGING, AND I THINK TIMUR WHATS-HIS-FACE CAN MAKE IT INTERESTING
-
I still can't believe I payed to see Night Watch.
-
she needs to eat some food. Mad bitch.
This trailer makes the film come across and convoluted and silly as the Watch films were. -
for the remake of this movie that'll be made in 20 years. You know, one that's actually based on the source material instead of using the book a fucking cumrag. I'm so sick of these Hollywood assholes taking a property and then shitting in the mouths of the property's fans. And then the fucking studios wonder why their movie fucking bombed. Assholes.
-
Seriously? Matrix had bullet time, Wanted will have bullet curving. Next thing you know, every other movie will have bullet curving.
-
a movie actually based on WANTED.
-
before the Super Bowl. Who knew there were so many words? It was like a Mos Def CD.
-
Might as well.
-
We do not have a TB, we will simply commandeer one! Hoo-ahh!
-
but that recitation of the Declaration of Independence was one of the lamest things i've seen in some time. just play the damn game already!
-
the iron man spot was off the hook
-
Pretty hot woman, too.
-
in my Super Bowl pool! Go whoever will win me the most money!!!
-
That's why I'm seeing this on opening day.
-
Somebody close to her needs to get real w/ her. She has an eating disorder and she never should have appeared on film looking like that.
-
...don't know what "bullet time" is. They see a bullet flying in slo-mo and cry out "bullet time!!" even if it isn't. Morons.Btw, that trailer looked cheesy as hell.
-
Saw the trailer on XBL awhile ago and I'm not impressed, this will suck like Jumper. I'm more excited about "super Tuesday" than this shit. And yes, it looks like a Matrix/Equilibrium ripoff, then again The Matrix ripped off a lot of ideas for source material.XD
-
wasn't it first used in the Blade movie before the Matrix? (Cites the scene in which deacon frost shoot at Blade before throwing the Asian girl into oncoming traffic.)
Tell me if i'm wrong, but why are the Wachowski's getting all the credit for this SFX terminology? -
was okay at best. I wont shed a tear if they don't follow the original story closely.
-
... than watching a bunch of clueless, antisocial, pseudo-intellectual virgins on a message board spout off about how they *wouldn't* bang hot REAL women like Angelina Jolie, just because they wouldn't be able to lift anything above 50 lbs onto their limp dicks. Wow.
-
looks awesome to me......i dont have a vagina , so i love mindless action....and yes i mean all u guys have vaginas, or should....hahhaha
