SWEEPS DAY ONE!!
Herc’s Seen ABC's First
LOST Since Spring 2007!!
I am – Hercules!!
At the front of the screener ABC sent along, there’s a list of stuff of which we’re not permitted to speak!
Here are a few things I think I can say about tonight’s installment, titled “The Beginning of the End.”
* The episode begins with a giant pile of fruit.
* Ana Lucia Cortez’s name comes up early on.
* Ben and Rousseau have a discussion about Alex.
* Lance Reddick (Col. Daniels from “The Wire”) exudes quiet menace.
* There’s at least one genuinely spooky moment involving Hurley.
* I think I’m finally starting to warm up to Sawyer.
* There are some well-crafted reveals and a new wrinkle right out of “Battlestar Galactica.”
* Juliet has a lot less to do than she did in the third-season premiere.
* Naomi’s phone is way cooler than an iPhone and I very much want one. One hopes the tricorders on J.J. Abrams’ new “Star Trek” movie will be as sexy.
* The show continues to grow admirably dark.
I guess I can also say what doesn’t happen.
* Desmond doesn’t make any predictions.
* Neither Michael nor Walt turn up.
* Smokezilla sits out the episode.
* And despite what ABC offers below, I didn’t notice Christian Shephard in this episode. (If you saw the final “Lost” mobisode that hit cellphones Monday (it was scripted by “Cloverfield” screenwriter Drew Goddard), you know why this could be an issue.)
ABC says:
In the season premiere episode, "The Beginning of the End," feeling that their rescue is close at hand, the survivors don't know whether to believe Charlie's final message that the people claiming to liberate them are not who they seem to be.
The band of friends, family, enemies and strangers must continue to work together against the cruel weather and harsh terrain if they want to stay alive. But as they have discovered during their 90-plus days on the island, danger and mystery loom behind every corner, and those they thought could be trusted may turn against them. Even heroes have secrets.
"Lost" stars Naveen Andrews as Sayid, Henry Ian Cusick as Desmond, Emilie de Ravin as Claire, Michael Emerson as Ben, Matthew Fox as Jack, Jorge Garcia as Hurley, Josh Holloway as Sawyer, Daniel Dae Kim as Jin, Yunjin Kim as Sun, Evangeline Lilly as Kate, Elizabeth Mitchell as Juliet, Terry O'Quinn as Locke and Harold Perrineau as Michael. Guest starring are Mira Furlan as Danielle Rousseau, Sam Anderson as Bernard, L. Scott Caldwell as Rose, Tania Raymonde as Alex, Blake Bashoff as Karl, Marsha Thomason as Naomi, Michael Cudlitz as Mike Walton, Lance Reddick as Matthew Abbadon, Grisel Toledo as orderly, Steven Neumeier as Lewis, Billy Ray Gallion as Randy, Jeremy Davies as Daniel Faraday and John Terry as Christian Shephard.
How does it end?
The rain and the fuselage return. Then somebody asks, “Are you Jack?”
* Those said to be featured in the episodes scripted before the writers’ strike:
4.1 “The Beginning of the End”: Hurley
4.2 “Confirmed Dead”: The “Rescuers”
4.3 “The Economist”: Sayid
4.4 “Eggtown”: Kate
4.5 “The Constant”: Desmond
4.6 “The Other Woman”: Juliet
4.7 “Ji Yeon”: SunJin
4.8 “Meet Kevin Johnson”: Michael
Take up valuable bandwidth with your predictions and reactions.

So what's your rating of the espisode?
-
shame all the series are being cut short by the strikes though.
-
Have been looking forward to this new episode for what seems like an age now. Do we get to see the boat or any of the rescuers this episode though ? Hope it lives up to lasts year finale.
-
The ending of the last series blew my mind! Can't wait. What with Prison Break restarting last week, I'm a happy camper!
-
"Matthew Abbadon", literally "Matt the Destroyer" in Hebrew. That can't possibly be good for the Losties. For some reason I'm really looking forward to seeing Jeremy Davies in this. Can't wait to watch this tonight, only 13 1/2 hours to go!!
-
first of, congrats to you folks keeping that other talkback rolling. i can't believe lost returns today. where did the past six or more months go? mmmhhh...where is herc's rating?
-
It kicks 17 kinds of ass. You guys are going to fucking love it.
-
I'd like to know if the first episode is going to be great or not before I get all excited. It can't possibly top last year's finale, I'm certainly not expecting that.
-
have writing credit on the second episode? Speaking of which, obligatory R.I.P. for Y: The Last Man, which just concluded its remarkable run...
-
So it is a Hurley episode - do we get a flash forward, or a flash back? I'm wondering how many eps this season will be flash forwards versus flash backs - or if they'll mix them up? Through the Looking Glass completely changed the rules of the game...here's hoping we don't get any more complaining about "the boring flashbacks" any more!
-
Why is Harold Perineau the only actor listed in TV Guide's synopsis? I was assuming he would show up immediately, and was guessing that maybe he had been intercepted by the "Boaties" while trying to flee the island at the end of S2.
-
Anyone else feel like a kid on Christmas morning when they woke up today? Less than 13 hours until we get to open our present. Cant wait!
-
Brian K. Vaughn ("Buffy: Season Eight") and Drew Goddard ("Buffy: Season Seven"). Also "Cloverfield."
-
All I know about it is a line Ben is supposed to drop at the end, if he does drop it, and he's not bluffing, then you gotta bow the fuck down for the guy.
-
I'm very excited.<br><br>And if you don't believe me, just look at my pants!
-
Haven't heard of it before
-
although Christian not being in the episode is a bummer....those trailers clearly showed him. I don't think I've ever seen a mistake in a Lost press release...
-
there aren't 7 Jack-centric episodes in the first batch of 8.
-
I can't even get excited about tonight, because I know there's only a few episodes in the can for this season. It's barely worth watching. I'm becoming as ambivalent about this writer's strike as I am about HD-DVD/Blu-Ray. I don't give a rats ass about who is "right" - I just want it worked out. Network TV is going to run into the same problem the NHL did: What happens if you have a strike, all your "fans" find out they don't really care about your product and find other sources of amusement and when your strike is over, a lot of them don't come back ?
-
This article means the 10000+ post TB is finally over, right? Congrats! I think.
-
...smiling this morning, already jazzed for tonight.<P> Thanks Allie. It was a wonderful experience being envolved with the other talkbacks since last May.
-
Yes, today it ends. But only when the new episode airs.
-
I too would like to celebrate the fact that Lost returns. However, fist fucking my own ass seems a bit extreme, maybe a pinky finger... that seems like the proper amount of anal penetration to cover the Lost returnal... But do not misinterpret this as low level excitement, I have been watching that fucking promo for the last month in anticipation. I cannot wait to see how they rock the boat for this extremely anticipated, but short season. Amen!
-
Just bought a 37-inch flat screen high def 2 nights ago to step into the 21st century in style. I can't freaking wait to watch tonight's premier in high def widescreen glory!!! WOOHOO!!!!
-
What I was wondering..will Darlton make a podcast for the next few episodes or does that count as writers strike stuff?
-
and speaking about Y: The Last Man, that was one great send-off. That Brian K. Vaughn is going to be HUGE.
-
Im very interested by the fact creepy Jeremy Davies is joining the cast this season. If he is one of the rescuers, then Im thinking the losties are screwed. Also, what do you guys think the actual chances are of getting a season any longer than 8 episodes this year? And is this going to effect the outcome of Lost in the longrun?
-
Production is often like 4 episodes behind. So if the studios strike a deal in the next few weeks, in theory we can still have a full season of Lost, uninterrupted. If they strike a deal a few weeks after that, we can probably have a few weeks off, and then still have a full season. The DGA wrote their deal, which should serve as a deal for the writers. Make this happen!
-
...after David Tennant decides to leave, of course. His portrayal of Desmond seems like he'd be great on DOCTOR WHO.
-
Should be a great TV night, which works out well considering we're supposed to get freezing rain and snow tonight.
-
I'm happy Lost is back too.
-
There is a reason now to watch broadcast TV. I do want to bitch slap ABC for that text filled mess of a rerun then ran last night. They took one of TV's best season enders and crapped all over it with their stoopid texting. And it read like it was written by a 14 year old.."Ben is good at drawing triangles..speaking of triangles..". I thought I was watching G4, not ABC. Will regular one hour episodes run at 8pm, or will ABC put this up against CSI...?
-
Does it look as good as the original hi-def broadcasts did?
-
Isn't the episode a 2 hour tonight starint at 8 eastern?
-
...and I mean EVER!! Talk about the most annoying shit I have ever seen, Wednesday's show almost made me want to go on meds in their attempt to fill people in on what came before. I also hope that ABC won't be cluttering up the screen so much like NBC does with those nasty show promos in the lower corner, which they now leave on for the entire gol-damn shows! Next, let's talk about the messed-up LOST commercial promos, with classic songs playing. Who's pushing the buttons there at ABC these days?!?! Jacob, help me...
-
I heard that tonight's episode is not actually two hours. It's a one hour 'recap' show, followed by the one hour episode. Is this correct!? I hope not, but who cares if it is, at least we've got Lost back for a little under two months!
-
i've been waiting forever for this and I'm so happy<P>whoever said that the text filled pop up video thing last night was crap was right, I watched about 10 minutes of it adn then decided to just watch my DVD , when I get home from work tonight, I'm so finishing up S3 on DVD to lead right inot the premire<P>oleg lives!
-
2 great movies and two coasters.
-
I am sure this has been said before but patchy had to blow up with that granade when he blew the porthole.
-
Quit yer bitchin! The pop-ups allowed husbands everywhere the opportunity to turn to their wives and say "I tell you what, if you just read the bottom of the screen, they'll answer your stupid questions for you and let me watch the show!".
-
... What, will it be 2 1/2 more seasons after this mini-season? (Which'll most likely have a rushed, cobbled together "finale" a la Heroes) Unlikely. 2 more 20 ep seasons? Probably not. Two more 16 ep seasons that are unsatisfying because they have to chop out a lot of what they had planned? Bingo. Effin' suits, pay the writers what they want you corporate greedheads!
-
LOL!!
-
The writers need to take a damn deal already and stop screwing over all of the other workers on these sets, and not to mention fucking up a series a great as Lost. <p><p> I don't think they will be cutting any episodes though. Either the second half of this season will be on in the fall, or season 5 will be a regular 24 episodes, with season 6 being 16. OR, like you said, 20 and 20. We shall see though, shant we?
-
The lost S3 blu ray does look better than the original broadcast, it's the best looking blu ray disc next to crank. Definitely worth getting if you have a blu ray player.
-
The other TB I mean. Here is a legit TB for a new episode. It was a heroic endeavor but it's time to move on.
-
I fell asleep from trying to shift my eyes from the action to the idiotic text. (See Ben run. Run, Ben, run) Errrg! They could've at least had a live chat going at the same time like Star Trek 2.0 had, with all the psychotic geek comments scrolling along the bottom. Would've been even more confusing, but fun!
-
Was tacky and unfunny. If I had checked of lost for awhile and was thinking about coming back, that would've turned me off completely. Totally out of sync with the show's tone.
-
I converted a friend to a Lost fan last night and the text was helpful to him...somewhat. But yeah, no more. Ever...
-
...how much older will everyone look, and how much heavier will Hurley be? That is all.
-
If it's the creative people who provide the content vs. the soulless corporate vampires who manage to suck the life out of everything and everyone they touch... I'll go with the humans, every time. SOLIDARITY!
-
I'm definitely looking forward to what you have in store. Please don't disappoint me.
-
I ordered it the other day when Amazon had that awesome price on it...thanks for the confirmation. I've got both players, and I got BSG Season 1 on the HD-DVD and it did not look as good as the Universal Channel hi-def rebroadcasts, which kinda sucked.
-
Good to see you on the boards. And I know you're excited...but try not to hurt yourself.
-
...at the end of last season. That would make for a good read now. And not just because I was the first poster on it. :D
-
The ORIGINAL one that got taken down after Mori and Herc teased everyone with their knowledge of the finale to the point that someone came in and spoiled the whole damn thing. Remember that one? What fun it was.
-
Can you at least post it in the other active Lost TB? Be a good pal, wouldya? I'll let you hit my bowl.
-
Whats the purpose of posting the synopsis after porviding the link? Now we just have to ignore one ginormous post while scrolling down.
-
I'm sure this has gotten you sufficiently hard.
-
I just can't see Ben ever leaving the island alive, with the connection he's got to it. I think if he ever makes it stateside it would have to be done very forcibly.
-
was the one in the coffin...if I get that last episodes hint right.
-
My guess is that it has to be someone who gets off the island and the name we saw was their new secret identity because they had to change their name when they got back. If the clipping was not intentional (which I find hard to believe) then it could eb anybody. My money is on Ben, who would be able to help Jack get back to the island.
-
I think i'm getting old because... I thought the 3rd season was ok, lack of numbers explanation was irritating and killing eko was a mistake, but the finale was rubbish. Also wasnt impressed with Cloverfield. Prison break is a big pile of shit by the way. Is this the Dexter talkback? I like that, and I strangely quite like Sarah Connor Chronicles. Im bored, TV has run out, I've taken to watching Primeval.
-
I planned on avoiding this TB and each one the day of the episode so I am not spoiled. But its kinda like a sore on the inside of your mouth. You just cant stop picking at it.
-
Here come the ABC police.
-
Node wha the hell happened to our other site there?? Think we annoyed soem powers taht be with our bandwidth hogging...see hercs final comment up there....<p> Right hands up whose excited..I assume everyone is sitting at home and work now with their hands up...good
-
Seriously Cap'n Jack. You should be banned. What is your problem?
-
You're an absolute swampdonkey. While I managed to avoid reading your ridiculous post, I find it hard to believe that there was no intended malice. Idiot.
-
LOST is BACK!!!! <p> Oh, fuck yes!
-
prediction was correct...we have to go back to the pther page tp be safe..ah well..<p> and to answer ur question from the other page pb, I may have been responsible for a few posts on teh im sick of lying thread..just one or two(hundred) though...;-)
-
Fuck you. I couldn't help but see the reaction to your spoilers all last year, and fuck you dude. It's not gonna happen again.
-
What I would like to know is what happens to Locke this season? We know that Charlie dies and Claire and Aaron leave the Island. What happens to them? Does something happen to Sun and jins relationship? Does jin find out about the affair that Sun had with the translator. or does he find out that the baby is going to die? either way is it used to break up thier marriage. Who is kate now seeing? what happend to Micheal and Walt. do we find who jacob is(if watch the man behind the curtain, and freeze frame your way through scene with locke and ben in the cabin, you can see him.) Either way cant wait to find out...
-
Your grammar/babbling stream of consciousness is somewhat disturbing, Emeraldboy.
-
A link is sufficient - posting the entire synopsis for 2 episodes in a talkback is highly unnecessary. I think you just like the attention.
-
Guess what? They're still on that fucking island!
-
The Lost TB`s deserve better!
-
Jimmy was sent a scene from Darlton that WON'T be seen in tonight's premiere. <P> It takes place just after Hurley's heroic use of the Dharma van in last season's finale. <P> Not really a spoiler....as it won't air...but look away if you must. <P> Sawyer leans against the van drinking Dharma beer...while Juliette digs graves for the slain Others nearby. <P> How many of those are you gonna drink?, she asks. <P> Allof them, he replies. She goes back to digging...Sawyer gives her a look....sizing her up. <P> What are you gonna tell 'em?, he asks. <P> Tell who?, Juliette asks back, continuing to dig. <P> The guy from Oceanic... <P> Juliette stops digging... <P> Sawyer continues, You know...the guy with the clipboard full of names...and he gets to you....and your name ain't on his list? What are you gonna tell him?... <P> Juliette pauses for a moment...then continues to keep digging. <P> End Scene <P> Pretty cool moment...and a decent question from Sawyer, for once!! With the classic non-answer from Juliette. But we won't see that scene again until the Season 4 DVD release...in, like, a million years from now. <P> Is it 9pm ET yet?
-
why not just do the link....so tehn whoever wants spoiled just has to move a mouse and go get it and the rest of us can live easy..are you a fan of teh show?? caause one of the biggest draws of it for me is not having a fucking clue whats coming next...its the whole point...by just putting up the link your still spoiling away but leaving the rest of us to wait for the big surprise the way the writers and creators wanted us to see it, not on a computer screen but on the TV screen..
-
I'm glad that everyone here can contribute to your little boner.
-
...at least until the completion of this season of LOST. Then strike away! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not torment us with only 8 episodes! We need our yearly fix!
-
Was just watching last night's pop-up crap and Charlie's death seemed unnecessary. Did I miss something or was it just like that for plot advancement?
-
It's Michael. But in order for this to be correct, you have to buy into the "Man from New York" theory that the article on the plane that Jack was reading said he was from NY. Michael is the only one from NY that we know of, and is definitely neither friend nor family. And it would also explain why no-one else showed up.
-
Nothing quite as eloquent/poetic as last weeks lookback. I'm heading out soon to catch my flight home. Know that I've enjoyed getting to "know" each of you and have enjoyed the last several months.<P> Namaste...and see you on the other side of S4 E1. ;->
-
AWESOME. Hope that's true. Either way, I'm not gonna read this TB until after tonight, because you know there's always one douche to ruin the fun. Can't fucking wait, though.
-
I want to know what happened to annie, Ben's girl from his flashback. I just thought what if..Rousseau was annie...think about it D(annie)lle that would mean Alex is really Ben's daughter...and since Dannielle gave birth to her on the island...that is what makes ben obssesive about fertility and babies on the island. I do believe some connection between the others and Danniellle will be discovered when her flash back is showed...maybe part of it will be revealed in juliet's flashback "the other woman" which might be a reference to Ben's first love
-
if u wake up in a submarine, you know ur in trouble
-
few of us came up with an idea that maybe Ben got her pregnant and she died..this is why he is soo focused on the fertility problem of the island and didnt want Alex to get pregnant..
-
That's what i originally thought too, but for some reason i don't buy Rousseau's story. When she mentioned to Sayid when she captured Ben..she said "for a long time he will lie" it seemed to imply she knew ben...

Shhhheeeiiiiiiiiittttt!
-
tired of waiting, me want lost now...I feel like the boys from South Park when Bebe got boobs adn they started acting all crazy...that's how I feel right now
-
goes back to Bens birth. His mother died minutes after he was born. Ben was born just outside Portland. But was taken to the Island as a kid with his father who blamed ben for his mothers death. The Island is the only life that Ben knows. Carlton cuse and Damon Lindeldolf say they are not finished with Annie's chapter. Read into that what you will. and for what it is worth I miss the lost /24 episodes on sky on a sunday nights in Ireland. Come back 24. please.....
-
I cant wait for a Danielle flashback.....it will be great...
-
Node's coment about Ben stealing Alex gave me a creepy thought. I'm sure this will never happen but what if we see a flash back of Ben interacting with some of the Others. Then he says something about his son...and tells Richard (or any Other) to ask Aaron to come over. It's not a flashback, it's a flash forward and Ben has stolen Aaron from Claire and raised him as his own. Okay that will never happen but it would be chilling to know that somehow Ben got to Aaron anyway.
-
you can't be sure Dannielle is telling the truth, nothing is as it seems on Lost. You really think her flashback is going to be exactly as she told Sayid in season 1? I don't, and you'd be foolish to think so. There's something about Rousseau that's always intrigued me...her flashback episode is going to answer a lot of question...but don't rule out anything...it's Lost
-

I can't stand it! Herc, rip the episode and upload it on a torre
by GimpInMyPants
I can't read what Herc wrote. For the past month I've been closing my eyes and ears every time a Lost commercial airs on ABC. I just need to finally watch this thing!
-
Your post assumes that only those of the male persuasion watch and enjoy Lost. I can assure you this is not the case. I answer more questions for my spouse than I ask. And Ender, that was WAY too much information, dude. That said, enjoy yourself and use plenty of lube.
-
Thanks for the spoilers, you bitch. Did it EVER occur to you that, if any of us WANTED to be that "spoiled," that we'd go look them up ourselves? Dumbass.
-
anyone watch 'The View' this morning?...they gave away a major spoiler for this upcoming season...Whoppi Goldberg stated that in a future episode another plane would be found in the ocean with bodies inside...the plane that they find is Oceanic Flight 815...make of it what you will but sounds like another major mind bender coming up
-
I kinda posted on teh otehr site for quite a bit..just to get it too first for one last time..kinda poetic.....we can let it die now a fantastic death, it did its purpose..season 4 is upon us
-
Joining lost. if not how the hell did she know all that.
-
she was being serious...I think the producers gave her permission to give away that info...in the same way that the producers gave Jimmy Kimmel that exclusive clip on last nights show...they are cross promoting their show using other ABC shows
-
if you go to ABC's official website for 'The View' it even says that "Watch Thursday's View for an EXCLUSIVE SCOOP on Lost!"
-
Remember what Eko told Claire about Aaron's name? "Aaron spoke for Moses when he could not speak for himself." I wonder if baby Aaron is supposed to be the new liason to Jacob when he grows up, taking Ben's place. Regarding pregnancies on the island - I admit I am somewhat confused about this. Juliette told everyone that Claire was the first pregnant woman to give birth on the island in some time. But yet that's not true - Rousseau was. Juliette told Sun that if she concieved off island that her baby would be fine - why then was Ethan injecting Claire with a syrum in the medical hatch?
-
For the past 2 years, i lived in bum fuck Africa and return home to the fucking writer's strike... gawd dammit
-
LYING ON A TABLE I'D INJECT HER WITH SOMETHING......
-
Jesus, ok, that's all I needed was an answer. I never said he didn't need to die. I just thought maybe I missed something in the physics of the water coming in to the station that made him close the door on Desmond. Take your own advice.
-
Just calling it a pile of shit doesn't make it so. It obviously has done well to capture a fanbase and survive Fox's relentless capacity to cancel even when a show IS popular. Maybe if you'd watch it for any degree of time, you'd understand why so many do enjoy it. Sure, it borrowed from Memento and Shawshank Redemption, as Harry pointed out in his burial, I mean review, of the series premiere, but you know what? Fuck Memento. The protagonist in Memento wasn't playing for the same stakes as Michael Scofield is.
-
in limbo. Remember what Anthony Cooper said to Locke and Sawyer. before sawyer killed anthony Cooper. He said to locke "dont you know where we are", he explains to Sawyer how he got to the island. and mentions that they might be in hell. and watch the scene in the man behind the curtain in the cabin, where something supernatural happens in the cabin. if you freeze frame the scene in the cabin, you do get to see jacob very briefly. Damon and carlton wont say who the actor is. that is top secret, apparently. The scene with walt is creepy. It could all be con. of course.
-
Where is that Russian bastard?? He's easily one of the cooler characters.
-
when lost first came out? and if you went to soem website, and "oped" what what behind some text-you got a copy of a report filed by oceanice (also owned by hnso)-that they took a 2nd plane switched the serials(or soemthing like that)-and tried to pawn it off as the real flight 815. I remeber that well-back ni the days of Mike H's Notebook website. And that was mid season-1 as I recall. So, it's odd that its coming up NOW, and no one remembers that( then again, i dont think ANYONE thought itd pan out now.) Also, there was an odd cell phone/text/websaite related to LOST-about "snowman" or something like that. And in it, there was a guy tailing Hanso, and even discovers a lil girl with power(teleportation? and creating a shield?)-and as the game progresses(which were a series of text messages you'd get)-the uy eventually is captured by hanso( after spying him with a bunch of "children" like walt with powers, doing some weird ritual)..i can't recall how it ended, but the snowman thing was(i think) loosely based on that odd LOST joke about what does a snowman smell like? carotts-bit.Its been so long, Im hazy-as I USED to be a LOST nut. Question is, I thought it was ALL red herring? but it seems, those clues were years ahead of the reveal.thoughts?
-
Ive come to the conclusion it's almost impossible to entierly guess everything bout LOST now... but does anyone think that the 620 year old guy( Richard Alpert?) that works for Ben, was one of the "original" people on the Black Rock ship that crashed? WOULD explain how he got there... I love this show, but I PRAY they begin doling out answers.
-
When was that revealed?
-
goe to DarkUFO-they have a list of stuff(chronilogically ordered) about direct quotes from Lendelof and Cuse.In oNE them (could be a joke)-they say he's not a day over 621.Wether that's an ACURRATE number or not-its safe to assume he's very very old. Sides, becuase of that actor's commitment to CANE, some lameass show on another network-Cuse and Lindeloff say don't espect his character to appear(unless the other show tanks. So, we may not get answers to that character right away. However, due to his age, and the age of the blackrock-Im merely guessing. Sides, they desrcirbed his clothes, and Ben's clothes as "pirate looking" in some of the few interviews I saw with cuse, etc. when season3 ended(months ago)/I thought it was a tiny hint...
-
not "ben's clothes", but the other guy-JACOB( IF YOU OWN THE SEASON 3 DVD-FREEZE FRAME WHEN THEY SHOW HIS PROFILE.Looks like a frilly pirate shirt. And look at Albert's first appearance(to young ben) in the forrest. God, i sound so lame.
-
it probably was part of it, not too concerned.SORRY about the mispelling. But I know I'm right about these "SNOWMAN" serials. Once it ended, they shut the sights down for good.Nonehtelss-one of the features was that Oceanice was covering up the missing flight 815.In fact, one of the dcuments you "discover" is a press release to the public about them FINING the salvaged wreck of flight 815.It's old news,(like 2-2.5 years ago???), but it's fact.Go research it. ANd I do remember it well(NOT FAN FICTION).many friends of mine for the texts too-and there was a website.DOUBT a fan would go through all that trouble. oooh, and Mike H is Mike Habitual(butchering his name)-he had a cool LOST website, that even Cuse and Lindeloff acknowledge on the SEAON 1 or 2 DVD set, as the best(at that time) LOST dedicated website.Im sorry-to lazy to go look for it, but YOU have the tools Now..so..entre vouz..
-
all we got is the sly Ben comment 'You do remember birthday don't you Richard?'..and young Ben meeting him in the Forrest..<p>I do like the idea he was on the Black Rock...be great to see the 'hostiles' backstory, through Richrads story.....how is his other show Cained doing in the states?? Is there any chance of him coming back??
-
I remember that in the Lost Experience, they mention that Hanso's family has a history in the slave trade. I bet Hanso himself was on the Black Rock.

Cain gets cancelled...becuase I imagine alpert has SOMETHING significant to do with the backround/explanation of JACOB/BLACK ROCK SHIP and the Island's age. As for Alpert's concenred (from LOSTpedia)"9-21-07: ABC Lost Podcast Damon Lindelof confirmed that due to Carbonell's appearance in Cane, his story would be "parked", and he would hopefully appear in a few episodes if his schedule allows. " ill find the lindeloff quote about age...but AGAIN-it couldve been a joke/red herring..

the talkback stopped showing the comments just after it 10,000...so we still sent msg in until we realised that we had to move on..but yesterday as a mark of respect for keeping it going this long until season 4 premier, a few of us decided to multi post to get it back in the top 10, then we got it to first again..just as a nice wee goodbye to it and season 3 and a big hello to season 4
-
Maybe you should use that time for some foreplay?
-
LOL - thanks for the laugh Ender. Steady on.

remember to wash your hand before you eat something....

whoever it was above that asked about the baby, as far as we know, Alex has been the only one before Aaron born on the Island. And she is 16, 17 years old. So thus 16 years would be "quite a long time". Also, remember that Juliet has only been on the Island 3 years. Danielle was also 8 months, 7 months pregnent before coming to the island, so it may be similar to Claire in that being pregnant off island doesn't affect the baby.<P>re:Ethan and the syranige I would guess, that he was taking emboynic camples OUT of Claire as opposed to injecting meds in, as far as we know, they only injected an "implant" that Ben actived to make Claire sick, up to that point, she hadn't showen ay symptoms. Again I'm guessing they were taking samples out of claire for Juliet to study, thus the need for samples from Sun, Kate, etc
-
They had to haul a damn replica of Flight 815 on a barge out to sea....they stuffed with realistic "bodies"...and sank it in the ocean...as "proof" they actually found something! <P> It's still a cover up...they just needed sub video of the wreckage at the bottom of the ocean floor to fool the passengers relatives and the rest of the world that the plane was found with NO survivors. <P> Whomever is protecting the secret location of the island HAD to do this to insure NO ONE would keep looking for any of the Losties...and possibly stumble across Craphole Island. <P> And...yes...those behind the island's secret location ALSO own Oceanic Airlines. (cough...cough...Widmore...cough). It makes sense they's need wreckage to complete the cover up and make it all seem very 'realistic".
-
friends tahts me away til I see teh episode whenever tath will be...u lucky lcuky basards get to see it in a few hours and I maybe days away..however, i'll see you'se all back here when I watch it..<p> i'll see ya's in a new season brothers.......namaste

How are you different than a TV guide listing? Any of us could just write down what ABC *tells* us to write down. Since when does AICN care about what the hell the network says about posting spoliers? Why even create an article to begin with?

Looking for a slave ship? Oops...you FOUND FLIGHT 815!!! Hooray!
by Cheif Brody
-
They know that the Black Rock is hidden safely on the island...and what better place to dump something you WANT found? The "fake" 815 wreckage. <P> It provides the family with closure...and stops them from looking for the real location. Especially when it's in an area so deep nobody can get down there to authenticate it...But I'll bet you someone does try to authenticate Oceanic's "official" story.
-
on the 10k talkback?
-
From what I remember, in Claire's flashbacks Ehtan tells her that the injections he's giving her are to keep her and the baby from "getting sick." What I'm thinking of in regards to the pregnancies and trouble conceiving is something like this - 16 years ago Rousseau's ship crashes on the island. Around that time is when the Hostiles, in collusion with Ben unleash some sort of airborn virus that kills everyone in the Dharma Initiative - except for Kelvin because he's down in the hatch. That same virus is what made Rousseau's team sick and prompted her to kill them. Why was she immune? No idea. Maybe the island saved her? Maybe it was because she was pregnant at the time? The mass murder of the Dharma people angers the island, and in retribution it renders the Hostile's women unable to reproduce. The Hostiles snatch baby Alex for whatever reason, leaving Rousseau on her own. 13 years later Desmond crashes on the island and is brought to the hatch by Kelvin. Around that time is when Juliette is also brought to the island by Mittelos Bioscience. Three years after that, flight 815 crashes. Whackiness ensues. What think you all?

But LOST is going to kick ass tonight. That is all.
-
After what feels like a three year hiatus, Lost is back. Rewatching Through the Looking Glass last night made me realize a couple of things. (1) That text at the bottom of the screen didn't really do much for me, even if I did like the line "This scary guy is Benjamin Linus." (2) That was truly an amazing episode. Knowing going into the episode exactly what was going to happen didn't change anything about my enjoyment. It wasn't the shock of Jack and Kate getting off the island, (after all, that shock occured 7 months or so ago) instead it was the build-up to that point. Everything we have ever seen has been about surviving and getting off that island. Everything about who Jack is on the island has been about getting off the island. And yet we are left with this devastating vision of a man who has been crushed by getting exactly what he wanted. That episode was just simply amazing...even if I still want to make fun of the Jackbeard.
-
Sorry if somebody has written this already, I couldn't be arsed to read all the posts..the 6 who make it off the Island are Sun, Jin, Sayid, Jack, Kate and Hurley..Sayid is working for Ben to get the 6 back to then island and Sawyer dies at the end of this season! Fuck me!
-
Pray I never find you...
-
Regarding your post about a deleted scene between locke and ben... i don't remember that deleted scene on the DVD set...is that a special one just for the Blu-Ray edition? Because i don't remember that being on my DVD. 2. Ben is a liar...you can't believe anything he says i'll hold final judgement on rousseau's story until her flashback episode
-
Why is the 2nd Lost talkback frozen up? Any idea? I'm too chicken to even read through this thread - I must remain unspoiled!
-
"Supernatural" returns w/ new episodes tonight as well. SN needs the viewers more than Lost does. Watch the next 4 episodes, so we can get a 4th season.
-
and 6 minutes, give or take! We've almost made it ... back!
-
I was really hoping to cut Lost loose, but I think this is a deal maker. Just so long as he isn't getting punked by Jack all season.
-
Does anyone think that Sun+Jin were put on that plane purposely? Remember, jin wasn't able to have babies before the island-then bam-once on the island, sun gets pregnant(and its revealed to be jin's)-and we ALREADY know that jin and sun are part of the oceanic 6.So...possible that her daddy ( daddy Paik..aka billionaire..aka ties to hanso foundation)allowed this to sire a grandchild? and remember,m her dad is the one who put him on that flight(remember the bathroom confrontation in season 1 with the american in the bathroom and jin??)
-
well, i imagine i might be wrong..we did realize that Desmond was the cause for the plane crash...which makes it only coincidence that the plan crashed onto the island.....arghhh....damn LOST! It's not possible to guess one friggin thing.
-
We'll meet again brother, .... in 49 days. Or later - end that strike!!!
-
I think the powers that be deleted Cap'n Jack's spoilerific posts! They were here just a few minutes ago. <p> If the powers that be are reading this, why did they lock up the second Lost talkback? The one with only 1K posts, not the 10K one that froze up 4 weeks ago?
-
I'll never understand why actors and actresses pass up secure jobs with established shows like Lost in order to dabble in side projects.
-
Sick fixx...i read somewhere (from an interview with Nestor C.) that they just offered him the part like a few days before filming, and thast it was something they just cooked up.So, Im sure they threw him in, but weren't sure what else to do with him...So he obviosuly got an offer for a aprt on a show, as an established character...and so he took it.I AGREE though, you'd think nestor wouldve jsut Belived in LOST's vision and said "fuck it..im in". Then again, im sure nestor NEEDS some steady paychecks-he's not very known yet.
-
Herc, I know you've got a whole Whedon thing going on but you really do people a disservice when you reference them only in a Buffy light. Brian K Vaughn (Ex Machina, Y The Last Man, Runaways) would have been a more appropriate and telling reference.
-
Are we back to same-old same-old again???
-
is this actually a 2 hour episode or an hour worth of recap bullshit too?
-
that should help you out!
-
Looking forward to premiere. I also made fan trailers for season 1 and 2 if anyone wants to check them out. http://tinyurl.com/23hdnh and http://tinyurl.com/25643n

Gonna miss you Charlie! Can't wait. Only 5 more hours here on the coast!

One hour five minutes... <p> Oh FUCK YEAH!!!!

it's just a privately-run website. go make your own.

Herc, Seinfeld is on sale on Amazon.com right now for 167.99, almost $40.00 off!<br><br>I think this deserves one of those overly-excited links on the main site, because who knows how long this sale will last.
-
I'm sorry I thought people came onto this site for information and spoilers and to find out about films and shows ...maybe you should go on one of the other sites? By the way I live in Nottingham England, its Robin Hood Country..come and get me you tantricktwatshitfucker! Sorry for swearing.
-
Ben's obsession with fertility is based on saving Jacob, in his mind. Jacob needs some kind of vessel to house his spirit. Since the island is his prison there is some kind of safeguards in place to keep him in that energy form. Think of Smokey as the prison guard making sure someone does not come along and breaks him out some how.
-
errrr...Jacob is Christian Shepherd You should watch the 13th and final Mobisode...the whole thing on the Island directly after the crash starts with Jacks Dad who is on the Island and then is also seen as Jacob in the Cabin..so your theory on trying to save Jacob is incorrect...I have it on good authority.
-
travis-dane, filmoholic and all other lost souls...I guess we sit in the same fucked up non-American boat. We're fugitives from the lands of (mostly) bad episodic storytelling where "so say we all" is translated to "so hoffen wir alle" and the word frak is replaced by variations of "scheiße" (literally).
-
have known they'd pull the same old bullshit.

The island is purgatory. The only way to get to Heaven is to die on the island; leaving the island puts you in Hell.
-
Lost is on, but no According To Jim? What kind of logic is that.
-
Yes the weather in Hawaii or wherever Lost island is in the South Pacific is very cruel. It's hot and humid and rainy plus the sky turns purple every 108 minutes. You don't want to deal with that kind of weather. You want freezing cold winter snow.
-
Wow.
-
Hopefully it's on by midnight.
-
located within a grain of sweat from one of the spider monster symboiotes that feed off the giant cloverfield monster.Much like the "ORIEN'S BELT" was on the cute lil kitty's necklace in Men In Black. And, in the final episode, the writers reveal that the overall moral issue and point of the entire episode is "look beneath the surface".fade to black, cue in terrible Journey song.
-
Ooo ooo! C'mon, time, move faster!!!
-
I enjoyed last nights rerun with texting, and every client I talked to today did, as well. I think they should do a rerun every weekend with the text to clarify things, personally:) I am so jazzed about tonight!!! I know a lot people feel slighted by the 8 episode run, but I personally feel that maybe the success of an 8 episode season with a beginning, a middle, and an end will send a message to the networks and studios about the masses responding to the quality of scripts and great storytelling and that they should think about that while this strike goes on. I am hoping this series will make some sort of difference to the ABC monkeys.
-
final scene comes on. Would be great.

Fuck me.hat was cool. jack is slowly becoming dishelved-and hurley is a badass!!! all because they left the island! I love lost..again...for now..

This should be a Holiday!

I go Looney in traffic and outrun the cops..then get busted..I'M GOING to try yelling "I am one of the OCEANIC SIX!!" and see if it works...probably not though.

ok, let's all start to guess who the 6 are that left the island. Jack, Kate, Hurley, coffin person?, ....
-
Limit the amount of commercials they fucking air during the premiere of a show that has been off the air since early 2007? After the intro and the title credits they should have fucking jumped back into the story.
-
So who thinks that what Ben is saying has some truth to it? Will he turn out to be right?
-
SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILER Someone made the smoke monster. It is not a supernatural force. There will be a new hatch revealed this season. he would make a good Riddler too, and it's not too late to cast him for that one day.

BURN IN HELL!!

we can start guessing the show involves time travel, or parallel worlds-or something to that affect-so I DON'T think charlie is a ghost(much like I doubt jacob is a ghost)-but rather something mro along the lines of sci-fi (like when desmond re-experienced his old life for one episode-only to realzie there was some freaky lady who was tellnig him what he's SUPPOSED to do-WHO ENDED BEING ONE OF THE OTHERS(("the warden?")) on the current lost island.wheew

Jack about the need to go back. And it hasn't happened yet. And he hasn't yet spiraled down into alcoholic depression (although that morning screwdriver, however weak it looked, was an early indication of what's to come). I think growing the beard is what makes Jack depressed and angry... just look what it did to Al Gore.
-
How do you like that Eli Stone? Huh? Not getting me to watch you... no way, bitch.

Hurley and Jacob Good. Namoi and Kate not good. Locke good. Ben good. Ending pretty good.

jack looks very guant...and a lil crow nested too. poor guy..all those years of filming on beautiful hawaii must be getting to him...i love lost.. i hate johhny lee miller in any film/tv show-where's ne's not dressed like james bond, and shooting heroine

Oh, wait. It's called Eli Stone.

This one didn't live up to the hype. big let down to me.

Nice ending with Jack and Hurley. Meanwhile another bearded character comes on the show. Must be a requirement.

um....what was the 'wrikle right out of Battlestar Galactica'?
by smackfu
Glad to see Daniels, I hope he plays a substantial part of these flash forwards. And they said he wasn't ready for the big chair...
-
Never heard of it.
-
seriously,we're so fucking starved after watching the horrible ass-rape that was season 2 (if u wanna call it that)of Heroes-the nine years its been LOST was last on-AND the awful few hours of sarah conner chronicles-that We'd take that Hurley cannonball run into the ocean looped over and over for an hour.so, this ep. was kinda cool.
-
Too many commercials. But it's back! And Jacob's still in his cabin, but he's got Christian Shephard for company!
-
Very strange. It seemed and still seems like the rescuers are "bad guys". Jack's group more than likely gets involved with them first, which I thought would mean bad news for them, but somehow Hurley in the future wishes he went with Jack instead of Locke? These writers. They've got confusion down to a science now. It's all they know.
-
<nt>
-
I was entertained. I had to remind myself that this episode will not have the WTF! factor of the finale. I'm sure it will get better. Lots of things in motion and I'm on board. But Hurley does not need anymore solo episodes. And him crying was odd. And his tsunami jump into the water? Anyhow, glad Lost is back to save us from reality tv hell. And the haters will be back next week. They always come back.
-
I've had my dose of WTF? for the week...
-
He was the best part of the episode. "Are they still alive?" Creepy as hell. They need to bring in Bubbs just to show Hurley what crazy really is. Good season opener though.
-
Namaste!
-
sorry if someone said this but the reason they mentioned christian sheppard is because he indeed was in tonight's episode, he was sitting in Jacob's chair. now i dont know if it means he is jacob or its something else but i definately recognized him there and reading what Herc said up there obviously confirms it was him.
-
Whats up with the Oceanic commercial coming on during eli stone? sounds awful similar to those hanso foundation ads at the end of season 2. That ARG was freakin sweet! PLEASE ABC! PLEEEAAAASSSSSSE!!!!!!!!!!!
-
thought the island stuff was just ok. Flash forward with Hurley was obviously the meat of the episode. Hurley choosing to go with Locke seems to have some serious repercussions. Will the Oceanic 6 be able to get back to the island? I'm gonna say yes.
-
Cloverfield is the series finale! It all makes sense now!
-
Sadly I find "House Hunters" on HGTV more interesting.
-
Though I must say I love the flash-forwards. I always felt that the flashbacks grinded the show to a halt and I was mostly eager to get through them (save for a couple of good ones). The flash-forwards feel like they push the narrative forward, and since they are in the future, there is far more opportunity for interesting reveals.
-
I always love how the island fixed her crooked front teeth the same way it made Locke walk again. If u watch her appearance in season 1 her jibbs were crooked. Then in season 2 she had veneers. The island is the best.
-
too many commercials but other than that it was a perfectly paced dark episode. Welcome back Lost!
-
see the same cabin as Locke and Ben, etc. I sure hope Jack finds that house.

The Eli Stone commercials are a sad commentary on what TV execut
by inmate347
They don't seem to think we are able to remember that some shitty Jerry Maguire/Holy Man knock off will be on after Lost for more than two minutes. I turned that shit off for spite
-
figured out why. B.c it was very underwhelming. Talk about some blue balls here.
-
if locke is so special for simple hearing jacob and seeing a brief glimpse of him, than what does that make hurley? super special? no. special ed. apparently
-
<p>That is all.</p> <p>Well that and ease up on Eli Stone. It's a decent show. Give it a chance before you bash it.</p>
-
Sorry ABC.
-
That's why Jack was sad last year, but that coffin was way too small.
-
I'm thinking anyone can see the Cabin as it physically exists on the island but as far as I know only Ben claims to have seen Jacob. Although Locke has heard Jacob at least.
-
So...now that we have the flash-forwards, does that make the scenes on the island the "new" flashbacks?
-
Just a theory. I think that the "rescuers" come on the island. Have ulterior motives, try to kill some people. Jack and Locke team up to kill them. Shit happens, losties die, rescuers die. Freighter or whatever means of transportation is left floating near the island. Hurley, Jack, Kate and the 3 others steal the freighter. Before they leave, Locke tells Jack to never tell anyone what happened and where the Island is. Somehow the Island will become invisible again. The six choose to make a bogus story about how they survived a la Tom Hanks in Cast Away. They vow never to reveal the truth, and to leave the people who chose to stay behind on the island in the past. The dude talking to Hurley in tonights episode wants to know about his crew of rescuers as well as the other castaways because he doesn't have a clue.
-
What in the hell are all you people talking about in terms of there being "too many commercials"? There were no more commercials than on any other hourlong ep of Lost, and the who runs 41 to 43 minutes regardless of commercial placement.
-
What in the hell are all you people talking about in terms of there being "too many commercials"? There were no more commercials than on any other hourlong ep of Lost, and the show runs 41 to 43 minutes regardless of commercial placement.
-
is Ben. Jack is not a friend or family. Kate says "why would I go [to his funeral]?" No one goes to his viewing. (No one knows him on the mainland.) He died on the mainland because his tumor came back, because Jack MADE him leave the island. Jack knows that Ben was right, and that because he was so adament about leaving, he caused Ben's death ... adding to Jack's guilt. (I don't know how Ben got the tumor in the first place.)
-
That's what I'm thinking too. So the "real" present time is now the flash-forwards, and those who got off are remembering back to whatever went so damned bad back on the island. Except of course if it's a new episode when it's another regular flash-back. Darn, this is gonna get hella confusing real quick...
-
Locke
-
creepy lawyer's name was abaddon, another name for apollyon, the demon of the bottomless pit. so... guessing he's not a good guy.
-
He is a lawyer
-
Good point. Especially now that Kate is really upset with him.
-
good call.
-
Did anyone else see the Dharma logo on a truck when Hugo was fleeing in his car? Or am I hallucinating?
-
I'm 90% certain the funeral was for Michael.
-
Drugs are fun!
-
See what i did there? After they all got off the island the guys who got them off the island, Dharma, Hanso, Widmore, whoever, either killed all but the 6 or took all the rest for experiments. Then they threatened the 6 that if they talked they'd get killed to. Thats why Jack wants to go back. And Charlie was the island trying to get Hurley to either come forward or go back.
-
Where's Walt?
-
That's your new wrinkle ripped from BSG.<P>COPYCATS!!!
-
I think the writers were cluing us in that Hurley was actually seeing Charlie (not just a "ghost") by having the other resident see him too, and mention it to Hurley. There is some time-jumping or parallel universe stuff going on here.
-
But is In-Head Charlie In-Head Six ... or In-Head Baltar?
-
Confirmed: 1. Kate 2. Jack 3. Hurley Theory: 4. Sawyer ("He's waiting for me" is what kate said at the finale last year when she had to leave jack) 5. Desmond 6. Ben Linus (Theory: He's in the coffin. Jack made him go to the real world as a punishment for what he did to them. Ben could never cope in the real world, probably had cancer come back and died. Jack is so upset because he realizes that Ben was the last hope of getting back. Or so he thinks.) Thoughts?????
-
Is it possible some of the island stuff is taking place in the post-'We got to go back!' future? Like Flashbacks > Island > Flashforwards > Island again? Or am I up too late and on too many meds?
-
Titus, they established from Mexican knife in her back chick last season that another plane was found with the bodies, so the reveal during this season wouldn't be a surprise, would it? I'm just wondering--maybe oceanic is in on this. Any thoughts?
-
as an extension of the season 3 finale. It just kept on going... and that's what I liked about it. I think the reason people are registering some disappointment is b/c they were expecting the "rescuers" to show in the first ten minutes. It was a bit of workhorse episode to get all the characters up to speed and making decisions, which I guess isn't what you expect for a season premiere. Oh well, I still thought it was great.
-
5 HUGE STARS!!! Can't wait until next week!
-
i think oceanic is tied in with hanso/dharma for sure. the sheer fact that they're introducing a commercial and had a sinister representative visit hurley with questions suggests that something is a foot here
-
It's basically just an airline commercial advertising the "Golden Pass" intercut with some phony footage of some guy saying "Don't trust these people". Pretty lame...
-
Seems like it would be logical that no one would go to Ben's funeral, and Jack only ends up there in the middle of a breakdown where he's suddenly agreeing with him. I'm not going to say it's a definite, but it seems plausible. Plus he's a little guy.
-
Had a chance to take an earlier flight but turned it down. Wanted to be with my checked bag...which of course they lost. Seriously.<P> I was reading some of Tom Robbins on the plane, and found an interesting thing I'd forgotten. There was this guy in the bible named Esau who nad a twin brother.<P> Jacob.<P> Bad Twin. Through the looking glass. I'm sure if I wasn't beat I'd think of more, but I think we have something here. Mirrors. Reflections (which could be why we have flashbacks). <P. Thought you might like that.<P> I'll post on E1 tomorrow.<P> Namaste.
-
did you ever play the Lost ARG? Wikipedia it. It was a really cool cross media puzzle game. I hope this means its back! Also this is interesting: in the TV show Chuck the main character has a flashback in which you can clearly hear "Oceanic Flight 815 was shot down" (with some type of missle. the exact words escape me) point is, if this game is back prepared to learn some cool secrets about a sinister oceanic airlines company
-
We have to go back...already!!
-
someone in this talkback said the jewelry store chick who was in desmond's time travel episode last season was the "sherrif" of the others...not true, but surely others noticed that jewelry store chick WAS in a picture with the monk dude in desmond's abbey on his desk!!! btw, i totally had sex with my woman after the lost episode...5 penetrations, i'm just sayin'... and yes i'm a geek but she was my wife so she pretty much had to.

I thought that's what was being implied with that evil Barack Obama-doppelganger that visited Hurley but I thought different when he didn't have a card. Maybe they were just involved in some sort of cover-up, although a crashed plane is a crashed plane and I can't see why actually claiming to FIND the wreckage would be a good thing, unless it would just freak people out so much that nothing was ever found that they would never fly the airline again. I work for an airline and have been suggesting that we start service b/w LAX and Syndey (w/ Flight 815) but no one else seems to think this would be a good idea. AND NO, I've never done the LOST ARG.
-
He would kill himself before he left the island. I bet the person in the coffin is one of the new characters.
-
Granted, we know the producers have claimed there is no "one simple answer" to all of the island's mysteries, but here are a few things I'm thinking about... 1)Adam and Eve were the first ones on the Island. 2)Jacob is the leader of the Others. 3)Matthew Abbadon = Matthew the Destroyer in Hebrew. 4)The war between the various factions--is it akin to the Israeli Palestinian fight? 5)The telephone operator's last name sounded Jewish (I know, a stretch, but still..remember that JJ is a member of the tribe) 6) The Black Rock = a Ship. But Jack has in his pocket a black Rock and a White Rock. 7)The new group, as I'll call, the "anothers", or "Nothers" for short--perhaps akin to Israeli settlers trying to re-settle the holy land 8)Aaron - spke for Moses because Moses burned his tongue by eating hot coals as a child. 9) Benjamin = ben yamin, ie son of the right hand 10) ol smoky = angel of death 11) Genesis 8:15 involves G-d telling Noah to build an ark and take 2 of each. Perhaps the Island is an Ark of sorts? BTW: 8:15 = Oceanic Flight 815
-
Because they obviously aren't going chronologically. This flash-forward takes place prior to Jack getting all suicidal. In fact, Jack seemed a lot like future-Kate in "Looking Glass." So what is driving these people to believe they've made a mistake? <p>Personally, I really enjoyed the episode. If anyone's curious to what I thought, feel free to check out my blog at:<p>http://seannyd.blogspot.com<p>I give a more proper review there that I'd rather not take up space with here.
-
On an island.
-
When Hurley got separated from the rest of the group just after Kate and Jack left to find Niaomi, I was convinced that it was going to explain why three of the "Oceanic 6" came to be. Of course, that is all now moot. Wonder who the other three are though...? One of them presumably is married/with Kate given her comment at the end of last season - has to be Sawyer, right? That leaves two...Walt and Michael?
-
When you say "do they all look a like to you?" do you mean lawyers?
-
doesn't trust Locke? Both are "religious" people (though Locke may not be strictly belonging to any one religion), who place faith very highly, but Rose still trusts Jack more than Locke. Seems to me like the writers are making kind of a point of that. Just an interesting thought.
-
still in the wheelchair in her flashback. She's probably afraid of him.
-
now Rose's nickname isn't dated.
-
The island previous people have become the plane and Dharma people and are fighting a war. Locke did say there is a war of light and dark.
-
Actually, in the time it took me to accidentally post that, I changed my mind again. That's what so godammned great about this show. Makes you rethink every thing you say. What I was about to say though was that I wouldn't be surprised if one of the other 4 included one of the three kids there. That being said, it's hard to imagine that Alexis wouldn't say something after getting back. Presumably those who got back have to either have an agenda of their own, or be secretive by their nature.
-
Is it me or what but doesn't Jack and Desmond look like they both suffer from manorexia? Sawyer looks drunk. Jin is soo skinny cuz of all the meth she's bakin on the island. Kate somehow has found the Botox stash on the island and Hurley is turning into the island.
-
I think Jack will choose to leave the island b/c his dad will be among the rescuers or something of that sort. I can only see the appearance of his dad being enough an excuse for him to abandon the island and the rest of the survivors. Also, I think it is clear that the "rescuers" are the real Dharma trying to reclaim the island.
-
Now he's gonna get beat up by Locke every week.
-
time ago by the creators and I believe them, but I am really starting to think so other-dimensional in-between before the afterlife stuff going on here. I say this mainly b/c of this Oceanic Air commercial stuff showing brief glimpses of the wreckage of the plane on the bottom of the ocean. So what if that plane did go down! Ben says the rescuers come and they leave the island they die...meaning they are separated from the one thing (the island) still keeping them linked to the land of the living...quasi connected. The island can be reached by the living but only with guidance. Deadly wounds (Locke) and illnesses are cured...things that will send you packing to the afterlife. Michael and Walt leave and ...pass on....which ultimately allows them to appear in ghost form (Walt) and with Charlie somehow this effect is letting him appear in ghost form much farther away. What about CHristian Shepard? The guy's coffin soft landed on the island a la Search for Spock and when Jack found it there was no body....and it has NEVER been mentioned again. Obviously, either Jacob is Christian Shepard or he is at least in that cabin with him....has the island taken him into ghost form or something??? Does Locke and Ben and seemingly Hurley have a kind of "The Shining" that lets them see these people?....only thing I can't figure is that the 6 who left are among the living it seems. But there is still much of season 4 to show all the particulars of getting off the island. Well, all this theorizing comes from what that lady said about Oceanic Flight 815's wreckage being found on the bottom of the ocean. ......ORRRRRRR .....if it's not that then it could be an Oceanic conspiracy of some kind??? And Jack and them made a deal with them and got golden passes and promised to never tell what really happened to the Flight and go along with the story Oceanic cooked up about wreckage on the ocean floor that they could've put there. Any takers???
-
the island became unstuck in time to the magenetic power the island has. Now everyone is lost.
-
rose and sayid are the two people, the ONLY two people who the series has established as being people whose intuition we can trust. i'm not going to delve into the numerous examples but look back, they are the only ones that have never been wrong. so when rose said "i'm not going anywhere with that man" referring to locke i knew something was way the fuck wrong.
-
a freighter person. I liked it when Ben said Kate took the cell phone.
-
Very funny -- light as air
-
Got the set the day it came out and it looks just as good if not even sharper on a blu-ray player (I'm using a PS3). The amount of extras is ludicrous - haven't even scratched the surface yet. Pick it up - you won't be disappointed.
-
Maybe the real discussion can start tomorrow when the whinerbabies are done. What a FANTASTIC episode. May be my favorite yet. <P> TALK ABOUT LOSTGEEKGASM!!!! <P> Didn't Herc say Jack's Dad wasn't in the episode??? Was Charlie the "extra" face that popped up in the window? Will we see more Charlie yet? <P> For playing it as "not" supernatural for soooo long -- they sure bucked that all tonight!!! <P> I found the whole Charlie/Jacob/Christian stuff to be much more "Fantasy" than Sci-Fi. I really liked it. I've always been very "grounded" in the show. But tonight it turned much more Narnialike.
-
Muther Fuckin' Yoda and Shit....
-
were in the caves? All the Dharma people were put in a large grave.
-
It's probably been said before by some other Lost geek somewhere but here goes....Oceanic 815 crashed and they all died. The Island is in a different dimension where they're all alive. Die on the Island and get back to another dimension where you're still alive. That's how Charlie was real but not real -- he's still alive in some dimension but not alive in Hurley's current dimension. The smoke monster takes people from one dimension into another. Oceanic 6 gets back but realize they don't "fit" into that dimension. I'm not making sense, am I? Ahhhh fuck it....I love this show.
-
Given that when Jack asked if she went to the funeral, Kate said with a sneer "No, why would I?" And person would have to be a loner that had no family to be present at the coffin viewing...so who has no family? Maybe Locke or Ben?
-
At first I thought the black lawyer guy was Walt..
-
In light of 4.1 we now know that the survivors of 815 (the 815 six, as Hurley called them) are celebrities. Jack even mentioned signing autographs. Given that, there's no way the person in the coffin can be an 815 survivor.... the newspaper article would have been very different, there would have been media at the viewing/funeral.
-
Kate is a fugitive. If she was returned a deal would have had to have been made to secretly smuggle her into the country, thusly the agreement for Jack NOT to call her.
-
Good point.
-
He was abducted, like all newly arrived children, because the Others cannot have children of thier own. If no new Others can be born the Island will eventually lose those who are there to fight for it and its left unprotected. Walt just happened to BE special and the Others found a way to exploit him.
-
What I discovered this evening is that I'm still holding on to Season Two ideas. Thusly the whole "Dharma took Walt cause it studies paranormal oddities theories"...Wait. There IS no Dharma anymore. I was so invested in these ideas that it only recently occured to me The Others DON'T experiment. Bea Klugh wasn't a scientist (well who knows what she was but she wasn't there in the Dhamra sense) The Others are there to protect the Island. That is their chief mission.
-
Something is different about John Locke. <p> The last time that we say him for any extensive period of time was back in The Man Behind the Curtain, the episode in which he heard Jacob, and after being shot Ben taunted him with, "Well, I hope Jacob helps you now". <p> So, flash forward to tonights episode. Something has happened to Locke, and I think he finally has the answers he has been seeking - and now has similiar psychic powers to Walt. <p> Why? Locke tonight showed that he knew many things that he simply should not have known according to the logic of the story... and he also did something that is completly unexplainable. <p> To start with, after Hurly encounters Locke at Jacobs cabin, John has a discussion with him about what Charlie's warning. How did he know this? And how did he know that Hurley had become seperated from a larger group? <p> When he walks with Hurley into the scene with the fuselage, Sayid is furious to see him, and all the others are uncomfortable with him being there. So we know that Locke had no contact with them, and no one else since attacking Naomi (with the exception of Jacob). <p> Also, when he was talking with Hurley, the context of what John was saying seemed to imply that he had firsthand knowledge of what happened. Almost as if he was there. <P> And now to what Locke did that was unexplainable. When Jack shows up and regroups with everyone else, he attacks John immediately. While on the ground, Locke and Jack struggle over the gun that is tucked into John's wasteband. But when Jack has control over the gun and attempts to kill Locke with it, John says, "it's not loaded". <P> So the question becomes, if the gun wasn't loaded, why was Locke fighting with Jack to keep it? <P> My theory is that the gun WAS loaded, but my some kind of psychic transmutation / displacement, Locke willed the gun to not fire, or for the ammo to go away. <P> We saw that he was in Jacobs cabin, and I think it is fairly obvious that Locke's communion with the island is comeplete... <p> So we're left with an even more powerful John Locke - which I find very interesting. <p> Thouhts? Maybe I am going to far with this, but I think that it's worth persuing.
-
Just because DHARMA is gone does not necessarily mean that the Others aren't continuing their work.
-
I think Locke knew about Charlie and Hurley getting separated from a group because Hurley told him and that scene picked up after they had already been talking. I think Locke was fighting for the gun because he thought he could use it to scare Jack (Jack didn't know it wasn't loaded).
-
I am not sure if someone else said this or not but Christian Sheppard was in fact in the episode, he was in the rocking chair in the corner of Jacob's house when Hurley looked in the window.
-
The Others have no reason to keep on doing Dharma work. They have/had totally different agendas and goals. But see, you still have that construct in your mind. I know! Its very hard to shake off.
-
The lawyer who came to Hurley was named Matthew Abaddon. Here's webster's dictionary on Abaddon: 1. The destroyer, or angel of the bottomless pit; -- the same as Apollyon and Asmodeus. 2. Hell; the bottomless pit. [Poetic] In all her gates, Abaddon rues Thy bold attempt. --Milton.
-
when Jack was going to shoot him?
-
57 minutes for two scenes. After the first 40 seconds, I knew the boat wasn't showing up til the last 10 seconds, which basically makes the season premiere was a filler episode. Well done J.J.
-
To have like 2 helicopters on it.
-
Just like Jack and the rest want to go back to the island, this other crew in the boat is trying to get back to the island as well. Everybody who leaves wants to go back. Is drawn back.
-
The boat never showed up DUMBASS. At least watch the episode before you throw out cliche hate. Congrats on being the first "nothing ever happens on this show" post tonight though. We almost couldn't have made it through the show without it. <P> Wait, I know what would have made a better story. Go ahead and show the rescue the first few minutes. By the second commercial break show not only Hurley's breakdown, but also Jacks that makes him want to go back. Follow that up with Jack "jacking" a plane and flying himself back to the island and buddying up with Locke to stop the "Sherman" foundation or whoever those people are from "destorying" the world. Then let them all live happily ever after in the barricks. <P> That would have been the PERFECT permire. You Dipshit.
-
my brain hurts.... I don't want to spoil it but they as much as said who is in the coffin this episode...
-
The episode was well-paced and went through a lot of ground work for the things to come. Stop whining and enjoy the ride. If you want some quick crap go check out American Idol. Don't hate, appreciate, the brilliance that is found in lost.
-

I know I am right so don't read if you don't want to be spoiled.
by Frank Black
Rose is in the coffin because if she leaves the island her cancer comes back... mark my words...
-
I don't have a particular reason why, but it's as good as anything else. Dharma was there to study Atlantian ruins/technology. The whole island is covered in nanobots, Flight 815 really did crash on the island and they all died, but the nanobots brought them back (which would explain why Locke can walk again). 'Smoke Monster' is a rogue set of nanobots running wild. Jacob is a 'BRANIAC'-like AI hive mind of the Island's nanos, effectively making him the island. Locke can hear him because he was healed by nanos. Atlantis/Avalon supposedly moves around in legend, so Dharma created some sort of EM barrier to keep it anchored, which was destroyed when the hatch blew, now the Island is adrift again (which is why the stars moved). The Others (except for Ben, Juliet and the remaining Dharma folks) are the remains of the Atlantian people (in the ep when they showed Ben's arival, all of them looked exactly the same, they didn't even try to make anyone look younger except Ben and the Dharma folks). How's that for a wild-ass theory? LOL!
-
and this new dude has a helicopter. They had to come from somewhere.
-
Obviously, most of his conversation with Hurley occurred off-camera. Seeing as when Hugo encountered him before the commercial, Hugo was on the ground and Locke was above him. When we came back, they were sitting and talking. This explains why he knew about Charlie. Second, Sayid wasn't upset at Locke for 'killing' Naomi. All Sayid knows is the John blew up the Sub and went off with The Others. Enough to warrant some of Sayid's patented Iraq rage. The gun, I just believe he struggled with it because the gun offers defense and leverage, even when unloaded... provided Jack doesn't know it's not loaded. The second that is discovered, the gun become useless. So as long as no one knows it's not loaded, it still provides Locke with some power. ...so... psychic... maybe not.
-
They should just tack the unfilmed 8 episodes onto the next season or have a special summer run to conclude season 4. This strike needs to end NOW!!!
-
Calrton Cuse and Damon Lindelof have stated that smokey is ABSOLUTELY NOT NANO BOTS. So if you believe them...
-
in that one episode? Like Hurley and Locke and Echo they always see people they knew?
-
Then they definitely don't need a bigger boat.. And has anyone made a list of the two seperate Losties tribes? Like Sun and Jin stayed with Jack right?
-
I don't know... it seems odd that she would leave and that NO ONE would be at her funeral. And Hugo pretty much smashes the idea that anyone who goes with Jack gets rescued or anyone who goes with Locke stays... or vis versa. ... I don't know... just bouncing ideas around.
-
because what else could they say? "Um, maybe?" which would give it away. If I were in their situation, I'd just deny everything, right or wrong until the show ends, then say 'I didn't want to spoil the ending, sorry!'. Besides, the whole "electric fence Smokey can't cross" thing pretty much solidified the Smokey Nano theory, despite what they say.
-
the final LOST 'missing peices' has a very sweet premise. Checkk it if you haven't. <http://www.approachinglost.com/2008/01/28/lost-mobisode-13-so-it-begins/>

Clair and Aaron with Jack. Ben, Hurley, Sawyer with Locke.
-
davy jones owns 's "The Oceanic Six aka The Dirty Half Dozen" theory is pretty solid, although I'm not convinced Sawyer left the island. I'm thinking the show ends with Sawyer dead by sacrificing himself so save Jack and Kate.

If you followed "The Lost Experience" a subsidiary of Widmore Industries was the Hanso Foundation which, after the kidnapping of Alvar Hanso, was being run by a corrupt scientist named Mittelwerk. After illegally testing some sort of vaccine on locals in Shri Lanka (a vaccine with a 30 per cent mortality rate) he was building and readying a ship that was to set sail into the south seas (the new Find 815 Lost game also suggests they're trying to find the Black Rock). Anyway, Penny's evil father got wind of her success in searching for Desmond and used it to help he and Mittlwerk find the island, thusly Naomi knew Desmond's name and had a copy of he and Penny's picture.
-
After that one episode with Locke and Jacob last year, I had nightmares for a week.
-
And Aaron will meet his Grandpa and stay with Claire. Sawyer Stays. Hurley swaps sides again sometime VERY soon. I've also heard he may actually be a BILLIONAIRE when he gets home...
-
Hugo's old boss turned employee and John Locke's old manager Randy is in the parking lot filming the end of the police chase... (Thanks Lostpedia for your collective eyes, Tivos and DVRs!)
-
He can't be in the coffin, unless everyone got out. I say Sun's baby is in the coffin.
-
Or was it all just Hurley telling himself what he already knew like before???
-
Or the dog.
-
I missed the little bugger. Also, will someone have a vision of Nikki and Paulo being alive?
-
Hopefully next week will be better as nothing was established at all.
-
Maybe that's why Jack was so sad. He knew he wanted to shoot Locke.
-
Lobo?
-
Why the confusion about Christian Shepard's presence when he told Vincent to go wake up Jack?? Clearly Vincent can see Smokey the Shapeshifter. "Christian" says that Jack "has work to do." This is exactly what "Walt" told Locke when he was lying in the grave. And we've seen Smokey take any number of shapes: Yemi, Dave, Kate's horse, etc. So that wasn't Christian, it was ole Shapeshifting Smoky.
-
Jack's side - * Juliet * Kate * Jack * Sun * Jin * Rose * Benard * Desmond Locke's side - * Claire * Sawyer * Hurley * Locke * (Redshirts) * Ben * Rosseau * Alex * Carl
-
Last year everyone thought it was Locke.

So what did you want? Something answered or something established? Were there "answers"? Yes, we got one BIGGIE: we know one additional person who left the island beside Jack & Kate: Hurley. As for what was established: the Jack/Locke split was finally cyrstallized, the people from the ship started to arrive, increasing hints were dropped about the lies the Oceanic Six were telling; Hurley made specific mention of the "It" that wanted them to return; Locke has been communing with someone who looks like it could be Christian in Jacob's cabin (which seems to phase in and out of existence), and Charlie, while dead, might not be quite as dead as we think. So, answers or establishing the template for the final chapters, I think the episode did an excellent job.
-
Your suggestions are silly because we know the show has seven seasons. Silly boy. -- Anyway, boat, helicopter. Sorry, misspoke. The point being that it would take an entire episode for the people who were just minutes away in last season's finale to get to the island in this episode. I accept and deal with the filler episodes when they're in the middle of the season but this is a season premiere! Make shit happen like last season's premiere. Sorry buddy, but I think the reason you're getting so amped up about this is because you know this episode was lame. Keep the anger going tho!
-
Feb. 1, 2008, 1:25 a.m. CST
oh yeah - what ARE they going to do about the other 8 eps?
by CaptainGilgore
Does anybody know? It being Lost, they could probably very easily tell the second half of the season in 2 episodes (filler filler filler). But will they actually film those episodes this season? I think we might just lose them. Is there anybody in the industry who can give me a solid hypothetical on what will happen here???
-
Point proven. Thanks.

Still any chance of getting Aronofsky to direct and episode?
by Lyghthouse
I'd still like to see that.

Listening to the voice over of Micheal Emerson on the recap episode..really started to get Verbal Kint vibe. If you close your eyes the actor could have been channeling Kevin Spacey. Still, great perfomance. great show.<br> <br>..yet the whole thing is starting to take on that last scene mind hump feel of 'The Usual Suspects' ..the audience can't tell what is actual, perceived, believed, informed, narrative, character misdirection, etc....seems a great deal of that blame can be lain at the desk of Cuse and Co...cause you just can't trust a gorram thing they say outside of the show. Nanobots, aliens, bugs, purgatory..who knows if their claims are true or they are yanking every viewers chain..and yet who doesn't like a good chain yanking now and again. I just want to know Dean Keaton is dead...<br> KUJAN<br> If it was a dope deal, where's the dope,<br> if it was a hit, who called it in?<br> <br> RABIN<br> And I am sure you have a host of wild<br> theories to answer these questions.<br> <br> KUJAN<br> You know damn well what I think.<br> RABIN<br> That's crazy, Dave and it doesn't matter.<br> He has total immunity and his story<br> checks out. He doesn't know what you want<br> to know.<br> KUJAN<br> I don't think he does. Not exactly, but<br> there's a lot more to his story. I want<br> to know why twenty-seven men died on that<br> pier for what looks to be ninety-one<br> million dollars worth of dope that wasn't<br> there. Above all, I want to be sure that<br> Dean Keaton is dead.<br> <br> ps. Sawyer dies. <br>

they'd have records and Ben wouldn't be one of the oceanic 6, but then who knows...
-
The Others infiltrated the Losties...sooo, whose to say the Boaties haven't infiltrated the Others..Double Double McGuffin. Lyle Alzado approves.

this trailer of the new deniro-pacino movie, but I still thought it was cool to re-list http://videos.trailerspy.com/movies/view/100/righteous-kill-teaser/

so shut up.
-
when they cut to commercials and that green LOST water reflection logo comes on, did anyone notice that the palm trees reflect what seems to be a skyline of buildings on the water? oceanic 6: jack, hurley, jin, sun, claire and aaron. kate and desmond escape on penny's boat. tonight's episode was FANtastic, giving us so much to ponder on what's to come...all this time we thought jack had done something really wrong regarding the island and today hurley tells him that he's sorry about having gone with lock instead...oh, and we got a classic baywatch homage with hurley slo-mo running...if only harry came into the shot and they both jumped in the air and chest-bumped...

The combined magnitude of the man tiddy collision would tilt the Earth of its axis..and then we would have Waterworld.<br> <br> And no one wants that..do they?<br> <br> I like your theory Rio on the Oceanic Six. Would answer a couple of spoilerish things..Jack finding out Claire is his sister and...and Kate somehow raising Aaron...which has been bandied about as well. hopefully it will be cancelled soon. Its no better than Flash Gordon.

That ep. was awesome!

seriously, that's the kinda shit he digs. He also told me that he hopes they bring back "Small Wonder"..he then remarked, "That robot tween gives me a MAJOR chubby"...what a perv, yo

Lost has been answering things since Season 3, so you shut up.
-
Haven't the producers said that already? Jacob is played by someone we've never seen before. Unless they're wording it in some weird way, I don't think it's Christian.
-
True enough..but as I beeyatched about earlier...How can you believe anything these Thin Lizzy's write, say, or Marceau about the show..<br><br> That was Christian Shephard, father of Jackson, sitting in the rocking chair..(and me thinks it was Mikhail's eye who gave the extreme close-up too)..Jacob is badge, a shield, a spook sign..<br> <br> The cabin and it's effective device as a containment vessel for those, done and gone is a separate argument..I'm not sayin..I'm just sayin.

Thought it was supposed to air with a double episode??
-
I'm almost positive - I'll rewatch and pause, but I'm sure it's the same eyeball we saw in The Man Behind the Curtain when Locke went into Jacob's cabin.
-
Oceanic. Perhaps Oceanic is a part of some corporate conglomerate. There are too many coincidences on the show for the rescuers to be a completely random organization that come out of nowhere. They're connected in some way.
-
..It would not have been one silly scientist who may or may not be a descendant of the illustrious electromag-neato Faraday jumping LALO from a surplus UH-1..It would have been ..oh 7,8,9 Ilyushin Il-112V dumping Pskov Vozdushno-Desantnye Vojska..to get Mikhail..Red Dawn style..and then Jack could have yelled 'wolverines' when he gave Locke the beat down..and if it ever comes time to give Farrokh Bomi Bulsara a bio-pic..I demand Sacha Baron Cohen stand to...just sayin. again.
-
JACK IS A FUCKING BADASS!!!!!!!!!
-
They lied and told the world that everyone was dead rather than acknowledge that there are still surviviors stuck on the island.
-
are Charles Widmore/Hanso people. They want their island back from Ben and his people. They can't find it now and they're working off the grid.
-
So I love how chalie is now Hurleys Swayze. Think we will get a pottery seen?
-
Jimbojones, you mentioned the people who complain nothing ever happens on this show. Then why the fuck don't they start making things happen? And I'm not talking just one or two revelations an episode. I'm saying they need to start going all out, balls to the wall, show they still have some testosterone. These incremental developments every two or three episodes sandwiched between endless exposition of Sun and Jin's tension, Jack and Locke both wanting to be leader, Sawyer and Kate heating up and then cooling off again just aren't enough any more. We need to start knowing what the writers are doing, if they even know. Things really seemed to have turned around by the middle to end of season 3, but now, we're right back where we started. With bullshit!
-
but if you look in the Scene where des goes for a job interview with Charles Widmore. There is a big clue and its a painted picture of the island with a polar bear head painted on the top. Judging by the way Charles Widmore hated Des with a passion. Widmore owns the island. he paid for the medical equipment in the medicine hatch. Paik, suns father owns the planes that take people to it. and he owns oceanic and Herarat airlines. Herarat is possibly a private subsidiary company.
-
Glad the show is back on if only for a short while. My first Ep in HD on my new tv. Looks great. Might have to rewatch series in HD.
-
who was talking to Hurley. I think it was the Island trying to get him to come back. Remember when Echo talked to his "brother" on the Island and chose not to repent for his sins, his brother replied something along the lines of "What makes you think I am your brother?" I think that the Island uses images of dead people to communicate. <p> Emeraldboy, I think that's a damn fine connection between the three companies. After last night I think that Oceanic is somehow involved in the rescue operation. It might just mean its owned by the same company.
-
You have a very good point, I always thought that the "visions" would stay on the island only. I could very well be wrong. But is it wrong to think hurley can see dead ppl? That charlie is really reaching out to hurley to help everyone? It is obvious now that not only ben and locke "special" but so it hurley? But you do have a point, there is def something going on with the island and the dead. It was one of the first things Richard talked about when he first meet Ben. I am trying to figure out Christian and jacob still, especially seeing that last missing pieces, the one with christian. Last nights season opening was great, it was no filler by any means.
-
I may be late to the party, but did you guys check out the Oceanic Website? There's a hidden message: <br><br> If anyone should find this message, please get word I'm alive and stranded on an island somewhere in the South Pacific. Please send help soon. Things are bad. And they're getting worse... <br><br> Sally <br><br> Who the hell is Sally? Was she one of the flight attendants?<br><br> Totally dug the first ep, BTW. Thanks for coming back, LOST. It was worth the wait.
-
This one just popped up, too: <br><br> I survived a horrific plane crash and am stranded on an island somewhere Northeast of Australia and Southwest of Hawaii. In the event that I am never found, please forward word of my fate to my parents. <br><br> This is all probably old shit to you super-sleuths, though.
-
I'm pretty sure she was part of ABC's interactive game over the summer. in the game Sally's boyfriend is looking for her, not believing Oceanic's story that the plane crashed and no one survived.
-
I figured it was probably something from earlier. I'm never really up to speed, it seems. :)

Addyadam, I do think its strange that the vision of Charlie...
by rbatty024
was not on the island. It is also strange that Jack had visions of his father when his father was never on the island. Charlie was my favorite character so it would be nice if he really was a specter and not the island in disguise. However, I'm still sticking with the island theory because it explains the most with the least amount of complexity. Occum's razor and all that.
-
It's not Charlie talking to Hurley. For the Oceanic Six to be keeping a secret, this shady government agency that apprehended them or rescued them must have wanted them to keep the secret. Maybe one of their own has undergone plastic surgery to look like Charlie in order to manipulate Hurley into doing what they want.
-
Because one of the other loonies at the asylum saw Charlie too, which supports my theory that it's just some agent surgically altered to resemble Charlie.
-
Mark my words. It's interesting that Smoky can leave the island...or maybe it's a North American version of him.
-
that's how I saw it as well...very similar to Yemi (is it possible that a bit of smokey can travel with people when they leave the island?). In terms of the fake Oceanic lawyer, I assume he's part of the same cabal that Abbadon is part of - looking to take the island for their own purposes...
-
Thats a dumb idea. Because when he counts to 5 "Charlie" disappears. Did the agency also give him special invinsible powers also?
-
Watch the first episode that you get a glimpse of Jacob and the glimpse of him in this episode they are the same. I told you before the episode aired also the Oceanic 6 are Jack, kate, Jin, Sun, Hurley and Sayid...Sayid is working For Ben to get the other 5 back on to the island. And Sawyer dies before the end of this season... Will not repeat this again i have said this 3 times now in the last month... For fucks sake remember this post!
-
Man, it is great to finally have something worth watching on tv again. A friend of mine who just started watching by way of the summary and then the new episode is convinced that John is a total looney and that it's too bad there was no bullet in the gun. Funny how things would appear to someone who has not been watching all along...
-
Juliette. She's small enough for that coffin, she's got no family because she and Jack aren't married and her sister has died of cancer. Plus, Kate sure as hell wouldn't go to her funeral
-
If you are posting things you 'know' by means of spoiler site or some such thing, please knock it off. Some of us enjoy the ride and don't need someone spoiling things for us...Thanks
-
stick with Jack at this point? Almost every one of his "plans" has fucked up. Plus his habit of "do as I say or I say it again louder" is really, really annoying. Oh well, at least we know from the flash-forward that Jack remains a loser through out time. He's consistant if nothing else.
-
Before he gets to the Island and is one again when he leaves...that is one of the main reasons he wants to go back..the island helps him find salvation within himself..and of course daddy is there!!
-
What Hurley's other imaginery friend also alive at some point? Is Hurley special because he can see people that have passed away. Was that Charlie coming through that window?
-
Did anyone see the beginning car chase and thing, "This is so cheesy it has to be that they are showing us the filming a movie within the tv show?" Was it supposed to look cheesy or was that just me? <br><br>Also what was the deal with the big Orange juice billboard and then the lingering shot on Jack's orange juice? <br><br>I am super glad Lost is back. Super pissed it is only 8 episodes. There was a lot of interesting things in this episode. <br><br>I am kind of disappointed that this Hurley episode didn't feature his family or friends at all. It would have been good to have squeezed in at least a line about his parents or something like that.
-
Because the other patient warned Hurley that he was watching him, and pointed right at Charlie. So get rid of the theory that it's Charlie the Friendly Ghost right now.
-
...you cockmonglers sucking each other off. So, allow me to just say this: I was completely unimpressed and got exactly what I expected from this episode. Absolutely nothing. <BR><BR>So, let me tell you morons how this is going to go. They're going to spend the first half of the season dribbling out bits and pieces of information in the flashbacks about how they actually got off the island. Meanwhile, in the current day scenes, Jack will spend that runtime getting the band back together. Finally, somewhere around 2/3rds of the way through the season Jack will figure out a way for them to get back on the island. They probably won't actually even get back on the island until the end of season four (and we'll probably have to wait that long before we finally figure out how they got off the island in the first place). <BR><BR>Cue "The Other 48 Days - Take Two" in the fifth season where we find out what everyone was doing on the island while the Six were gone. That's if we're lucky. If we're not lucky, well, season five will be current day - Jack, et al., are back on the island, and find the political situation has altered enough that they're now untrusted and considered outsiders even amongst the survivors. We now spend the fifth season figuring out what happened while they were away in the flashbacks, while the current day scenes are spent with Jack attempting to reintegrate the two groups. Maybe in season six they'll actually tell us what the fuck is actually happening on the island. <BR><BR>Nahhh. <BR><BR>They can't do that, because the writers don't even have a fucking clue. <BR><BR>Don't bother responding with your nerd rage, I'm not going to bother coming back. You may resume your autofellatio now.
-
Is it any stupider than the spirit of someone recently deceased coming back to warn someone of impending disaster? That's just lazy, cliche, hack writing.
-
Everyone that is trying to get to the island is in fact people that at some point already were on the island and left somehow. They all regretted the decision and wanted to get back and have been waiting for the island to reveal itself. It has and now they want it for themselves.
-
All I can say about last nights episode is even though we really didn't learn anything earth shattering, it was still a nice ride. I just wish they answered more questions and make them.
-
Presumably, when he's much older, Jack could resemble his father. So what if it's not Christian Shepard, but actually some future version of Jack, either from this universe or a parallel future? <p>With the wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff going on with Desmond and the various implied references to parallel worlds, I think there's a chance Future Jack could be in play here.</p>
-
sets up the season nice and quickly, reguarless of what people say..<p> we have team Locke and team Jack set up, excellent..<p> WHy is Hurley sorry???? that will be answered in due course...<p> we have Jack and Lockes relationship finally broken,, Jack was willing to shot him in the head infront of everyone...the bastard.<p> Sawyer and Kate have gone seperate paths..and we have ben at the ear of Locke again..<p> oo and a freightie has landed on the Island so the next episode starts off with the boat folk..<p> now that ive finished with the currnet human themes of the island folk lets talk about the nuts shit...<p> Jacob..didnt expect to see it soo early..as soon as I saw the cabin I sat up in ym bed(room 23ers, I still have the kidney infection)..theres something freaky as fuck about that place, and it is seemingly close to the front of the plane...however, we cannot be sure if it was actually there the first time Hurley went to the window or if it was all in his head...<p> first thought after seeing the cabin sequence was taht Locke was in with Shepard?? and then went out to find Hurley...but thinking back I dont think that would happen....<p> Kate Niome stuff was ok...Niome did the right thing by not telling her boat that Locke stabbed her but I think if they find the body the knife in teh back wound will give it away,,,unless it heals..<p> Hurleys flash forward....Lance Reddick I believe he is called in real life...scary scary man...he made me nervous for Hurley...<p> my thinking now is that the oceanic 6 are getting hunted down or killed, so taht teh story of the island cannot be told...its seems to be hinting taht tha frieghties strike a deal with a few losties that if they gain control of the island they will bring them back, provide them with a story and in return with their silence concerning teh existence of teh Ilsand tehy will leave them alone....when one person threatens to slip, aka Hurley here, then they send Mr Scary to threaten or take care of him......<p> amybe the person in teh coffin was someone who got off teh island and did a bit of talking and got killed, Jack realised taht he couldnt escape these peopel and if he didnt get back to the island he was going to die the same way...<p> The oceanic 6..remember this is jus tteh name for teh 6 poster people whp got off teh island..maybe there were alot more who got off and survived but just didnt get the publicity...the coffin person could have been one of the other non televised suvivors..<p> Charlie played the roll of Dave here in this episode, I dont think it is anything more sinister than that...he is being told what to do by someone who isnt there...nice to see charlie still involved,..even though techniqually he has not been dead and out of one full epsiode yet..but u get my drift..<p> im ahving a bad feeling for alot of our favourite losties, Locke, Sayid, Sawyer and Ben...Im not to confident about tehir fate at teh moment...things are about to get rough<p> overall I found it a very good episode adn a far cry from what we would usually expect from a Lost premier...EXACTLY..the show just keeps us guessing<p>only 7 more days to go...haha

Can you say "lame fucking chronology device?" I thought you could. Or how about the Naomi/Kate phone fight? If Naomi is some badass interloper bent on seizing the Island, why threaten to cut Kate's throat before taking the phone? Well, because we need precious seconds of exposition to push along this totally pulled from the ass story YET AGAIN. How many more soliloquies are we going to get spoken by a character pointing a gun at another character? How many times will we hear "when he gets back, I'm a-kill him?" How many more times will Ben play aloof and withhold basic information that in one 60-second quip SHOULD bust the whole ball of contradictions to hell? The big "secret" is some "phased" apparition of a hillbilly in a bombed out shack? Oh, the genius of this fucking mess of a series. Apparently, according to the series recap episode, Season 2 pretty much didn't happen. Except for a mention of Ana-Lucia as one more tic on the coincidence list, the whole "Tailie" thing/Walt being kidnapped/Walt being paranormal boy/Aaron being prophesied as the Son of Satan/Mr. Fucking Eko shit never fucking happened. Yeah, keep convincing yourselves that there's some grand plan at work here.
-
Nick at Nite has Home Improvement I hear. More your speed?
-
Unless he asked to be written out of the show, they wouldn't kill him off. That's the only reason Eko died, the actor wanted to leave the show.
-
go to the indiana jones link just below the lost one here and look at the picture....between Cate Blanchett and Ford is the one and only Patchy..without the patch...suppose I could call him eysie instead now,,,
-
Locke. The reason the coffin is so small is because he was an amputee at the time of his death. I am sticking with this until the reveal.
-
. . . Richard will eventually be seen in his bare feet and only have 3 toes. Like the giant statue foot.
-
The statue has four toes. Trolls are the only other lifeform that have four toes on their humanoid feet, by the way. The statue ruins were probably just the Others' attempt at a Statue of Liberty.
-
has sand in his vagina...
-
...you could always stop watching. Just a thought.
-
I'm just curious, if you don't like what's arguably the best show on television, perhaps ever, what shows do you like? I'd love to find out that there are other shows out there that are better than LOST (even though I'm not holding my breath).
-
Glad you saw it MP. Here's my thoughts.<P> There was never any doubt for me that Hurley was the driver of that car. But that look in his eyes when he got out was something new. This is not the carefree Hurley we know on the island. Something’s wrong. And for Hurley to try to run away...or maybe just run...he definitely was not thinking clearly. Then we see the video and see our friend...happy, carefree...at least for a minute. The drilling by the cop...AnaL’s partner. He mentions that and Hurley denies knowing her. <P> Why? Is this the lie Jack was talking about in TTLG? <P> And then the underwater vision. I think we know who he saw now...or at least who he thinks he saw. <P> Okay, I’ve got my problems with Locke too, but since Ben intercepted Jack and the losties, Jack has said he’ll kill Tom, Ben and now Locke. <P> Lord of the Flies much Jack? <P> Sawyer dinking a Dharma beer. Juliet digging a hole. Tom laying there getting colder. Classic. <P> Rose and Bernard are wonderful characters. Relaxed. Light. Accepting. Strong. <P> New Sawyerism when he called Des Scotty. Passed right by me at first, but JJ is doing Star Trek, isn’t he? <P> ;-> <P> It is so sad on so many levels that Sayid, Juliet, Des and Sawyer were so engrossed about not Penny’s boat that it took “WHERE”S CHARLIE??!!” to bring them back to reality rather than speculation. And Hurley’s realization, sadness and look to the ocean where Charlie would now rest, knowing he’d never see his dead friend again was brilliant writing, directing and acting. But... <P> Single mindedness. Hurley ends the rescue/warn Jack conversation by throwing the walkie in the ocean. All he can think about is Charlie. Charlie died and his last act was to warn Des. But all we know at this point is that a rescue boat is on the way, and Naomi lied about who she was working for. We, and especially the folks on the beach, don’t know anything about them. <P> Meet Matthew Abbadon. An attorney for Oceanic...without a business card. Offering a padded room with a view. “Are they still alive?” Whoa...what? <P> Maybe Ben was wrong. Maybe every living person didn’t die. <P> Sometimes it’s nice to see the other side of Sawyer. He’s genuinely worried about Hugo, but accepts that he’s just not ready. Call me if you need me. <P> Nice. <P> The continuance is wild. Hurley lost. The wind. The whispers. The shack. Jacob’s shack. Uh-oh. And the fun begins. Okay, whoever is in the rocker is wearing white shoes, a suit, and has short hair. This ain’t the same figure we saw last time. Then the scary face shoots in. I paused it and looked at it a long time. I don’t see it. It doesn’t seem to be Locke, Des, Charlie, an Other. It really looks like Wolverine, but it’s not. I can’t tell. Anyway, Hurley get scared, runs away and into the shack again...in a different location...and it opens the door for him. Then Locke and the hello Hugo. <P> Creepy. <P> Love Ben’s sarcasm. Big bundle of firewood. And there was something else there. When Ben said Look on the bright side...at least someone around here knows what the hell they are doing...he glanced over his shoulder at Danielle. She stepped forward. So was that directed at Danielle? Is there something between those 2 we don’t know about yet? <P> Naomi has a sister. Hmmm...now who could that be. Let’s see. Naomi European. Dark wavy hair. Seems to have survivalist skills. I guess we’ll never know. <P> ;-> <P> If you weren’t touched by the Hurley and Claire scene, please take your pulse to make sure you are alive. <P> Did anyone besides me notice the similarities between Dave (Hugo’s friend in the nut house flashback) and dead Charlie? The slap. I am here you’re being a baby. All seems familiar. But then Charlie says They need you, you know they need you. So are they still alive? Did Abbadon hit on something? And if they are alive, why do they need Hurley? Notice he didn’t say they need your help, only they need you. <P> Interesting. <P> I think we can add Hurley now to the counting to 5 list. <P> Okay, this next thing is a curiosity. Jack pulls the trigger on Locke, but nothing happened. But isn’t that the same gun Locke found in the pit? That he pulled on Jack? Wasn’t it loaded? But it doesn’t fire and Locke says it wasn’t loaded. <P> Curious. <P> The scene where they all gathered at the plane wreckage was powerful. We have to choose, and choose now. Do we go with a man who has destroyed every chance we’ve ever had to be rescued to a place where we all believe we’ll be safe, or do we stay with our leader and face a possible rescue but certain uncertainty (sorry...couldn’t resist)? Then Hurley pulls on the heartstrings. And it worked. And Jack lost. And people walked away from him. Hurley. Claire. Danielle. Ban...funny, funny Ben. Alex. But not Rose. Definitely not Rose. But Sawyer did. Now that will be an interesting dynamic at the barracks. Sawyer/Locke. <P> And as they parted the sky wept. <P> Jack looks awfully happy off the island when he sees Hurley. Nice conversation. Then it turns. Checking to see if I was gonna tell? Are you? <P> TELL WHAT?? <P> And Hurley apologizes. Going with Locke was a mistake. And what they did, whatever it was, was a mistake in Hurley’s mind. We know later that it was in Jack’s too. Then a very, very curious statement. I think it wants us to come back and it’s going to do everything it can....... <P> It? It wants? It feels? It does things? It goes out of it’s way to do things it wants? And what does it want to do? Keep its secrets? Does that mean the Oceanic 6 are in danger? <P> Curiouser and curiouser. <P> Jorge should submit this one. <P> Speaking of curious, why didn’t the helicopter land? I don’t mean land in the jungle, but there are plenty of places on that island to land. Why parachute? <P> Curious. <P> BTW – I saw the Oceanic commercial during Eli. They showed a pic of the wreckage at the bottom of the ocean.
-
Dammit, I'm so glad this show is back. Great stuff with Hurley and Claire grieving Charlie. And I loved seeing Charlie's ghost. I do wonder if Jack is Jacob. I've always been a bit suspicious of him since his name matches the antagonist in Lord of the Flies. As for the other 3, I'm definitely going with Sun and Jin. Beyond that, I have no idea. Great stuff all around. So glad this show is back!!!
-
Bat Boy. I mean look those ears on him it can't be anyone else.
-
Nothing we can do about them and they ain't gonna stop. People will be people. People will not pay attention for 4 years and still think they are doing the right thing by voting the same way they di last time.<P> So, my friends, I intend to do what we did for many months. Maybe through example of what we see and discuss we can "recruit" new 23ers or open the eyes of those that refuse to see.<P> Then again, maybe not.
-
I managed to find a nice wee site that streamed the show so I got to see it this afternoon there..and I got to see it in high def on the big tv..what an experience...fantastic..<p>
-
Anything worthwhile in "Lost" owes a huge debt to "Twin Peaks" and "The Prisoner." I still watch because I'm waiting for the "I told you so" moment when the big secret that's been teased and teased and teased and teased is not nearly as specatular or all-encompassing and "perfect" as you Orthodox "Lost"-ians had hoped. That day is a-coming. They can only juggle so many balls in the air for so long. They can only criss-cross through the same fucking rainforest so many times, switch allegiances back and forth so many times, "reveal", yet not reveal "secrets" that mean nothing and go nowhere. Wanna know the secret of "Lost?" The sum of the parts DON'T EQUAL A WHOLE. There is no ending. There is no neat bow to tie this mess of series together except through magic, "sciffy" or the paranormal - all of which the producers lied to you about not being a part of the show.
-
sorry cause he went against Jacks old saying 'Live together die alone'..the fact that Hurley(a much loved pro Jack fan)decided to turn his back on Jack made alot more people join Locke and maybe loads more died because they didnt stick together...<p> OR MAYBE...<p> Jack was getting his people rescued and Locke started all out war by doing something stupid adn Hurley realsies he was wrong to turn his back on Jack..guilt ate him over the years for being on teh man responsible for starting a war..
-
Hurley knows following Locke was a mistake because Locke is dead he died in th epit last year after Ben shot him. Whatever he is now he isn't Locke. This goes back to the list of good & bad people. The good ones survived the crash while the bad died and were brought back by the island/smokey
-
then to heal him again, showing him the mystical powers of the Isalnd..take that science boy
-
could foreshadow a death.like in the godfather-anytime an orange was in a scene, it was to foreshadow someone dying.. so maybe hurley is gonna die eventually OFF the island, and ABOUT THE COFFIN-come on -it could be ben.why? well, we know jack hates him NOW...but we got countless epiosides to get from NOW to the future flashforwards( IF they even happen like it showed)-MEANING , jack/we the audience HAS plenty of time to make ben a good guy/likeable. Or, I also like the michael theory.Maybe jack has sympathy because Ben/others oreignally forced him into copperating by kidnapping walt, and thusly the 2 he(mike) murdered was something terrible that he doulnt control.EVERYONE else hates him, but maybe jack had some sympathy. Or, in typical lost fashion, it could be a TOTALLY new character we dont know yet. Also, i think the six that get off the island are paid hansomely and sign some agreement to keep the entire experience a secret. And maybe Jack's anguish has somehting to do with some sort of trade TO GET OFF the island.Maybe, jack is allowed to choose x amount of people to get off-and the rest are killed, or must remian on the island-MAYBE thats the burden he carries.

Gruntybear, that's the lamest excuse for watching a TV show...
by rbatty024
I've ever heard. Because you're waiting for a crappy ending? Just read some episode summaries for the next several years and then come back here and gloat. It'll save you lots of time to go read a book and improve yourself instead of watching a television show you obviously dislike.<p> Both The Prisoner and Twin Peaks are great shows, but both had unsatisfying endings. The Prisoner decided to have a psychedelic freak out instead of a satisfying conclusion and Twin Peaks ends on a cliffhanger. These shows did the exact same thing you are accusing Lost of doing, except Lost hasn't done it yet. Something doesn't add up. I think you're bitching just for the sake of bitching and I think someone has a crush on Lost but doesn't want to admit it.
-
I don't think he was, but it's an interesting idea. Then again, Charlie did bitchslap Hurley, and Smoky can physically touch people, so I think it's a good possibility. If it wasn't Smoky, what are the other possibilities?
-
That is a HELL of a theory, sir.
-
Okay, I haven't read every talkback, but here's my thoughts. The Oceanic Six are of course Jack, Kate, and Hurley, plus three more. Still too early to tell, so I'm not going to guess. Kate said she had to get back to "him" at last season's finale. That fast forward was after last night's fast forward as Jack had a beard and was drunk whereas last night he was stone sober, and contemplating growing a beard. So, we have one more male, and the other two are ?? I have no idea who the person in the coffin is. Someone mentioned Ben. Not a bad guess. Locke makes sense except there's no way in hell he would leave the island. I'm gonna take a stab and say Sawyer. Kate didn't want to go to the funeral so maybe they for lack of a better word broke up, and since he has no relatives he ends in some no name funeral parlor with no one mourning. So who does Kate go back to? Maybe Sayed? Maybe they hook up? I don't know, its' all speculation. You gotta admit a lot of us have a love/hate relationship with this series. As soon as we get one question answered, there's another one we're dying to know. Watch, it will turn out that Penny's father Mr. Moneybags is a Hanso executive.
-
had something to do with overlapping timeslines.or something.like charlie(when he visits hurley in the flash forward).he said he DID die, but he's still here. What if this timeline A is where charlie died( and the gang is STILL on the island), and timeline b is the one in which SOMETHING happened to timeline a, and events that happened/people who died in timeline A ...changed-causing people who'd previously died to LIVE...or simply "correcting" events from timeline a for a differnt result..but NOW the people in timeline b needs timeline A people to change certain courses in order for timeline b to occur? Charlie, Sheppard and the WHISPERS have to have somtrhing to do with this.Has anyone EVER gone to LostUFO or Lostpedia and read the whispers transcripts? theyre fascinating. Its as if someone(s) in timeline b(or whatever) is watching over the events of timeline a, and passing judgements, etc.I know Im not expressing myself as well as I'd like(because LOST is such a mindfuck!),but I feel this is is the case.
-
Anyone have the stats from last night? Are they out yet?
-
of the six
-
Maybe Naomi and this new dude are indeed from Penny's boat. Maybe Charlie wasn't talking to Penny in the present. Maybe he was talking to her in the past. Who knows, maybe the island is outside of our time line or something like that, and by the time Penny's boat DID show up at the island, it's when Charlie first talks to her. I dunno.
-
although you wouldnt think it is teh king of sports....he's a fantastic table tennis player and now is great at basketball....I cant remember if we got to see his golfing skills in season one but they were bound to have been great...get that man into one of ur major league teams
-
can be a real jerk, so maybe for Kate it was the final straw. You're right though, it might not be a tailie. I guess I shouldn't have assumed, but the way she spoke to Jack it was implied, or I inferred. It's funny how there are now three timelines. On the island, future rescued sober Jack, future rescued bearded drunk Jack. Something bad must have happened between the two Jacks. I guess we'll find out.
-
don't we already know? i mean i've read 6 names of people who have got off the island. i guess i won't reveal that here b/c it's a spoiler but the info is available.
-
go to Best Buy. They've got the first 3 seasons for 16.99.
-
Lost has been about survival and constantly running away from things...this episode is about running straight into something..<p> just from reading alot of people moaning above, I didnt think it felt like a typical LOST episode and thats a good thing, its set on a new battlefield now, with these new people coming to teh Island teh cynamic has shifted all together...its great...<p> I love tehway people maon about LOST beinf formulaic and same old same old adn tehn when its tone changes a bit tehy moan that it is crap and should stick to what it knows..those people should just watch heroes and leave Lost to people with an imagination and brain, who can accept a tonal change int eh show and give it time to establish itself..I cannot wait to see what and who that boat has in store for us next week
-
kate says in season finale that she has to get back to "him". in interview lilly has says that the "him" is responsible for her changing her life. the "him" is her son. born off the island. not a oceanic 6 member.
-
love it when node unleashes hell on the plebs....haha..makes me understand why Stallone got so fucked off..haha
-
could be teh last 2 alive, all teh rest of teh Oceanic 6 were killed, and teh numerous otehr ones...when Jack saw teh name in teh paper, he prob thought i'll go my way and not be found dead in my appartment..... <p> tehn he tries to phone kaete who is prob on witness protection or something to try and get back but Jack is left high and dry..
-
I didn't see anyone else mention this, but did Naomi's "Tell my sister I love her" bit seem a little forced? Maybe that was code for something. She lied about getting stabbed in the back, maybe so Kate wouldn't get the losties ready to fight the boaties, but maybe... I'm waiting for next week to hear Naomi didn't have a sister...
-
Not everyone wants the world to know they have returned. For instance, Kate left the island but I doubt she was one of the "6" since she is wanted for murder.
-
I wonder who will be first to die in teh flash forward...Imagine if Hurely was gunned down in the season opener, I would have shit myself..I think we all would have (except Ender who had his hand up there to block it)....im wondering will tehy kill off a regular in a flash forward just to show how badly it does go wrong....someone like Kate..a huge fan favourite...it would be kinda like teh Charlie scenario, we knew he was going to die and teh whole panic and tension was round when and how,,,, with kate we would see when and how she died and by whom(maybe killed by Riddicks man)..so everytime we see her onscreen maybe wuth him we are shouting at the screen..this would only work if the future could be changed..if we find out through a des episode taht teh future isnt written yet adn every decision tehy make can change it...then we would be cheering for kate not to get off the Island
-
I was thinking taht also...harks back to Ben and Locke for 'I dont have a code word for there is a man standing in my closet with a gun to my daughter'...maybe she is warning them to bring really big guns.....good call
-
As a pre-crash fugitive, I am betting she made some deal with whoever rescued them that she remain “dead”. Hence meeting Jack under cover of night and such… Also, surviving an airplane crash doesn’t get the FBI off your ass for the murder of your father.
-
What I really care about is when we get to see the rest of season 4. If the strike were to end today, what would happen? Would they go into production in July when most TV shows start up and finish the 8 episodes in the fall? would the start production right up again?

Node, MP, goback23. I was also thinking about the death of the 6. Seems maybe that was what Hurley was saying before Jack cut him off...that it would do anything it can...to keep it's secret...including killing us. So maybe the reason Jack was on the bridge was to end it before it was taken from him.
-
Someone poppped in the other day who knows someone who knows someone times 3. According to them, the 8 that are in he can may not be the only scripts at a state of nearly completed. They led us to believe there were 4 more nearly complete. So if the strike ends soon, we may get a full season yet.<P> We can hope.
-
Cuz that episode last night rocked! <P> Wow....Poor Hugo, huh? Man, for a millionaire lotto winner...he sure is miserable! <P> I loved Kate stealing the phone and going off on her own to find Naomi! When she agreed with Jack, I was thinking..."This is a first!". Glad to see she's still Kate. <P> Also glad to know that if there were bullets in that gun...John Locke would have had one between the eyes. But also glad to know he would have never of shot Jack. I kinda wondered why he knifed Naomi instead of shooting her in the finale last year. <P> Judging from Hurley's flash forward...it looks like some bad shit is going to happen because the group split up into two teams. "Live together...die alone" is still coming into play. <P> I know who the "Oceanic 6" are from reading the spoiler pages. It's going to be interesting to see how the island keeps affecting them even though they they made it "home". <P> The scary black dude that visited Hurley in the nut house...doesn't work for Oceanic...he works for whomever is behind keeping the "real" island they crashed onto a secret. I'm thinking the "6" had to make a deal with whoever runs the island..."You can go home...but you cannot tell ANYONE about what really happened to you on the island". They can't tell the media stories about "smoke monsters" or "Others who kidnapped and murdered people"... Nothing. They fabricated a nice "media friendly" story about how Jack saved a few of them in a raft he fashioned out of seat cushions...and after a few days the "6" made it to a "known/charted" island and survived on coconuts & berries until the rescue ship spotted them. <P> Oceanic Flight 815 sunk to the bottom of the sea...with the rest of the passengers still strapped into their seats. That's the official story...to keep any loved ones of the passengers from LOOKING any further for their friends and families...and possibly stumbling across the "real" Craphole Island. <P> But Hurley's "outburst" over seeing Charlie by the Ho-Ho's and his subsequent police chase has "the powers that be" nervous about him keeping up his end of the "Do Not Tell" bargain. I'm even thinking they told Kate she would not serve time for the murder of her father IF she keeps her trap shut about what really happened to them. I'm guessing the deal also involved some of the Losties remaining alive on the island as a ransom for the "Oceanic 6's" silence on the matter. Thus, Jack & Hurley feeling that they have to go back and rescue the rest of them...or be forever haunted. <P> So...who's "behind" the island? Who does that creepy attorney REALLY work for? Charles Widmore? Mr. Paik? Alvar Frickin' Hanso? <P> It will be interesting to see...But I think last night's final scene with Jack & Hurley was hinting at bad times ahead for Hurley...I can see him not being able to keep silent any longer about his experiences on the island...and I think he will try to tell the world what really happened... <P> But who will believe a crazy loon's wild tales from a nut house? But when Jack finally convinces Kate that they need to go back...Kate will ask "How? How can we afford to find an island when we don't even know where to look?" and Hurley will arrive with his $150 million and say..."My lotto numbers are the coordinates, dude. Let's go." <P> That will be something!

I've heard various rumors, since the strike began, that many shows had scripts done but not filmed. i also heard that Heroes had 3 or 4 episodes filmed from chapter 3 but chose not to air them until they could air all of chapter 3 within a reasonable time frame. the only concern is the actors, if they're already off doing other things when the strike ends we'll have to wait. it's unlikely we'll see shows go into production during their regularly scheduled summer hiatus. so that sucks.
-
also rumors that claire will die... maybe the him is aaron.
-
The absence of all of these fucking cry babies that claim they will never watch Lost again but continue to post each week. You know they love the show, some people just need something to bitch about. They aren't happy unless they are complaining. It's like ordering your favorite flavor of ice cream and then complaining because you ordered chocalte again. You know what your getting when you watch the show. If you are a true Lost fan then you loved the show. It was everything I thought it would be. It was so nice to have the other TB and be able to talk about Lost without having to read through endless crying and bitching. If you dont like the show dont watch it! (but you know they will). Sorry to rant but I'm sick of reading all the bitching. Just ignore the crying bitches and continue the meaningful chat and theories.
-
michael emerson said on a radio interview this week, that ABC still plans for a full season and would be possible if the strike ends in the next month.
-
This episode was excellent. My only quibble is that the rain sound FX was pathetically bad in Dolby Digital. It took me out of the show for a second or two. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with this episode. I actually went back on the DVR and replayed the Hurley conversations with Matthew and Charlie to catch every word and nuance. Wonder what the ratings were?
-
Holy shit. Are they Michael and Walt? Does that mean Jin *and* Sun didn't get off the island? I'm also thinking Kate's "Him" is someone that removes them from the island, someone on the boat. How freaky would it be if it was Matthew Abaddon or Jeremy Davies' character (can't remember his name). Also, still waiting for someone to explain carriage returns on this talkback to me :)
-
and bkv is the big draw for them..
-
Stop spelling "THE" wrong. You look like a freakin' idiot!!
-
1. The patient who tells Hurley that Charlie is looking at him is ALSO PART OF HURLEYS IMAGINATION. Nobody else ever interacts with this patient. Hurley plays a game of Connect 4 with him, and the nurse gives Hurley medication, and NEVER EVEN LOOKS AT THIS OTHER GUY. Its because he's just as much a part of Hurley's imagination as Charlie.<p> 2. The "Lawyer", assuming he's not just a Nigerian Scammer looking for Hurley to help him get his late father's vast fortune out of customs by paying the import fees holding it up, sure does seem to behave just like Richard did when he courted Juliette. I think he was offering to bring Hurley back to the Island, which Hurley at that point, wasn't prepared to do.<p> 3. The coffin, I believe, is empty. I believe that Hurley did in fact return to the island, but had to fake his own death in order for that to happen. Jack and Kate knew this, which is why Kate said, "why would I?" - because they both know its not a real funeral. Its just the coverup so that Hurley can return to the island forever, without anyone ever asking what happened to him. Jack's weekend flights are because he wants to go back in order to save everyone on the island. He wont agree to the 'fake your death to return' requirement.<p> 4. Jack's father isn't dead and never was. He had made the same deal with Dharma: Fake my death and I'll come work for you. He was an accomplished neurosurgeon before drinking destroyed his career. The Island, as we know from Jack, seems to wash all that away and give you a fresh start. Christian had ostracized himself so that his funeral would be quiet and unattended, except Jack screwed the deal when he insisted on flying to Australia and bringing his father's body back to the US. For this, Jack had to be taken to the island as well - he would have never stopped searching for his father, so he had to be taken.<p> 5. as to the idea of time travel with the ability to change the past, I think we've learned through Desmond's storyline, that while you can change the paths you take, you cannot change the destinations you will arrive in. Nothing he could do would ultimately save Charlie. He managed to alter the details of the timeline, but ultimately the timeline preserved itself. Unless we are to later discover that for each change Desmond made, there are others who are continuing to kill Charlie in order to preserve history. interesting. I'll have to ask Ziggy about this the next time my block of blinking Legos connects.<p> 6. Nobody has asked yet why the big "rescue" simply consisted of replacing the parachutist who died? No sooner does Naomi pass away than a new single 'rescuer' glides to the island, presumably to continue Naomi's mission. A true rescue would have been more along the lines of a few small launch boats arriving on shore, and at the very least, the helicopter would have immediately taken Claire and Aaron back to the ship. She had a baby on a lost island for crying out loud. They would have prioritized getting her on that boat under the assumption that she likely needed, at the very least, an examination on both her and the baby.<p> LASTLY: MY THEORY<p> I already theorized that the coffin was empty and the funeral was a fake so that Hurley could go back to the Island (or as the Nigerian Devil-Scammer called it, "a nicer facility with a view of the ocean"), but I believe that the island, due to its unrealized properties, is a 'magnet' for lost souls. There are living people there, and there are dead people there. Ben tells Jack that every single LIVING person on the island will die. That dialogue makes no sense if he could just as easily had said, "we'll all die" - no he made a distinction, and the question is - who was he distinguishing from? People on the island who were dead.<p> And i noticed something else in the new LOST logo at the end of the premier episode: we've already discussed that the reflection in the water shows a cityline, but in the actual island itself, the large mountain in the middle looks more like the ruins of a large palace or castle, specifically on the right side of its face - I dont have the ability to pause or rewind this image, so i had a fleeting glance of it, but I clearly saw what I thought was the ruins of a large castle on the right side of the big mountain. There may yet be parts of this island we've not seen before, or at least don't think we've seen before.
-
Everytime someone writes "Jack's father is still alive I get annoyed and think they are crazy, but reading your explanation why in number 4 makes sense to me and I'm now open to that idea.
-
interesting theories. the flash forwards have introduced a completely new set of mysteries to the show which is good and bad. I still have faith that most of our questions will be answered. I think we'll find out what the 4-toed statue is, who the island natives are and why the 815ers were brought to the island, what force brought them there. we'll learn who Jacob is and what his powers are and we'll learn what causes all the weird phenomenon on the island.
-
Not possible the way you described it, because you have to remember this is still, even at its most captivating, a shallow tv show that can't go over the common grunt's head with that kind of stuff. Half the theories people propose to answer the myriad questions won't work because of the confines of the rules of television, i.e. a scene can't last more than five minutes and has to make its point in that allotted time. Dialogue has to be sharp. It can't wander around and back, like in finer literature of the world. My main contention that most of our questions will never be answered is because of the way the dialogue is hammered out, incrementally, with sharp phrases that only ratchet up the tension and intrigue, but do little to truly solve anything.
-
My guess is the big lie the Oceanic 6 have been telling is that they were the only survivors of flight 815 and everyone else died in the crash. This is why Ana Lucia's cop buddy asked Hurley if he met her before or on the flight and not on the island. It also makes sense with Naomi's comments that everyone on flight 815 died. Oceanic Airlines staged the fake plane wreckage instead of telling everyone they had no idea what happened to flight 815. When the Oceanic 6 were rescued Oceanic Airlines told them to lie about what happened in exchange for whatever they wanted. Maybe they pulled some strings and got all charges against Kate dropped that way.
-
stories from teh future now its time to see some good stories....Kate may stand trial for ehr adas murder and scary lawyer man will get her off teh hook adn freed.....so now we are torn in teh fact that we dont want Kate to go back...and teh week or two after we will get anotehr success stroy for a lostie taht we love...teh writers are tuggin at our love for characters and not letting us settle on what we want to happen...very smart bit of writing if u ask me
-
Idiots are banned from all talkbacks.
-
its a Hurley episode..think about all the other Hurley episodes we had before...they were light, funny, had some slapstick in them and always involved the big guy bringing people together and him coming out strong in the end...<p>finale season 3 throws it on its head<p> Hurley episode season 4 style..its dark, menacing, no humour, tragic, heartfelt, and he is the first to move to split everyone apart...<p> everything we have known and come acustomed too with reguards to our characters is about to change...Jack going to shoot Locke in the head, for fuck sake, that wouldnt have happened 3 episodes ago....the change that this rescue is enforcing on the group added with the tragic nature of the flash's means that were in unchartered territory again...
-
Taht is some stupid siht.
-
is this a talkback or grammer expedition....some of us type off bat and if wee type teh adn or seomthing else wrong it doesnt really diminish the meaning of what were saying,,,,its just picky assholes that get annoyed by it...
-
Sometimes I feel like Annie from Misery when I read these suggestions...where she's freaking out about Misery's not really having died...it's too easy...That's how I feel about some of the alternate timeline and dead/not dead stuff. gimme a clever realistic answer, (hell, i'll even accept nanobots for smokie), rather than, uh okay it's the subconcious blah blah...aliens...I like the idea that Christian was never really dead, makes more sense to me than a lot of other stuff...
-
cnut..work that one out
-
To the people saying that the coffin was empty: I believe the funeral home director offered to open it for Jack. I doubt it was empty. Not sure what this means but with all the talk about the cabin and Jacob and Christian I thought I should bring up the dark sand or dirt or soil that appeared to be surrounding Jacob's cabin. I only noticed it on a second viewing. When Ben takes Locke to Jacob's cabin they step over a line of dirt that appears to circle the cabin. Locke even bends down to check it out. This reminds me of the X-Files episode "Millenium" where the necromancer, and later Mulder, uses salt in a circle around himself to protect him from zombies. I wonder if this is supposed to be a similar idea and is used to keep Jacob or whatever contained. If someone already mentioned this I'm sorry. It's a really, really long thread.
-
I got a chuckle
-
u stuck with my shite spelling for 8 long months, you must have the patience of an angel...<p> so RB was it worth it...was it worth the 8 month wait, the(sorry teh) hours of room 23, the whitescreens and loading times???...same question to the rest of room 23....<p> Perfect spelling when I try..I must try harder..repeat..I must try harder
-
those 8 months were wasted mate...haha
-
Worth every minute. Every $ spent to buy the DVDs. Every chance I took at work. Worth every crazy theory, every email to the webmaster...every minute. No regrets at all.<P> You?
-
I eamnt to say..tehre I go again..ruining lives with my grammer..ah well, maybe I'll go to the Island and it will fix it....maybe it could do my fucking kidneys first
-
def worth it..it was a perfect starter episode, one to turn the tide, it was never going to be the most dramatic ever but it has set everything up now for the rest of the season..<p>here we were all well off with our season openers...ah well
-
I posted something last night that might have gotten lost in the shuffle, but I wanted youguys to see it. I was reading some Tom Robbins at the airport and on the plane, and he mentioned something from the bible regarding Easu and his twin brother.<P> Jacob.<P> After watching the enhanced episode Wed, ABC kept talking about mirroring things. That reminded me of TTLG. Bad Twin. Mirrors. Reflections....that having multiple meanings that could include why we have flashbacks...as in reflecting on one's life.<P> I'm not applying this to any theories yet, but I'm keeping it in mind.

Feb. 1, 2008, 2:01 p.m. CST
The two people in The Cabin
by Guy Who Got A Headache And Accidentally Saves The World
Jacob was obviously played by Jack's dad this time, last time it looked like Locke in a wig, I don't think it really means anything yet. The other face looked a lot like Desmonds, which means people WEREN'T crazy when they were saying they saw an eye during the quick cuts during Jacob's first appearance that looked a lot like Desmonds. So eat shit motherfuckers.
-
really wetted the lips for a full season.......here's hoping, cross anything u got, fingers, toes, eyes, balls, legs..anything
-
Binned the third season as poor. I dont agree.
-
yes it does actually diminish the meaning of what you say, because I don't like reading eyesores.
-
lostie seem to make decisions on the island that reflect and show growth from thier earlier experiences aka flashbacks...we have Kate running and not running in some episodes for example...alot of the characters have not shown any development from the person they were before they landed on the island, fpr example: Locke still can't handle his dad...<p>maybe the flash forwards show us that the Island is like a box that changes you....suicidal rock bottom Jack, cant fix anything anymore cause he is the one that needs to get fixed...and mad Hurley, who instead of wanting to get better is content to be deemed as mental and live with the regret of decisions he made...whats these two men got in common,,at some stage they realise they got to get back... I have no doubt in a future Kate episode we will see her wanting to get back..to reset their choices and to become the person they were when they landed on the island and not when they came off it..<p>if they get back to the island they see it as a fresh start..a base to work from again and not to make the same mistakes twice<p> maybe teh island was fixing them..Kate being an angry non trusting murder, Hurley and the numbers, and Jacks obsessivness....but they got rescued and came home too early, only half fixed,,, they need to go back to finish the job..only it takes some of them longer to realise it
-
I absolutely agree. It's annoying. It's like a pube in pudding.
-
Looking at the screen cap it sure seems like it's supposed to be Jack's dad, though I'm not convinced that is the same actor. I'd venture to guess that's not Jacob though. I think it's Cerberus, Jacob's dog...who we know as the smoke monster. I think it's the same dog depicted in the painting on the wall. I think Cerberus is the one taking the form of all the dead folk. <br> I'd say maybe the guy eyeballing us might have been Jacob. <br> My gut says they are from the Black Rock, same as Richard et al. <br> Could be wrong though. maybe Jacob likes to borrow bodies. No shortage on this island. I think Jack's dad is dead either way.
-
Charlie was a "manifestation" of the island, same as Kate's horse, Jack's Dad, and Dave. (with whom the parallels to Hurley and the insane asylum and Charlie are really apparent) Also, Charlie slaps Hurley to prove to him that he's real; didn't Dave do that to Hurley, as well?
-
Will post my full impressions on my lunch break in a little while.
-
Lost fans check it out!
-
I think there was a map inside the coffin. Penny Widemore finds out about Jack and she knows where the island is, so she sends him clues.
-
Hurley at the start of the episode crashes into a load of mirrors as well..u maybe onto something there..<p> cheers pb..much appreciated..
-
I always thought the horse was like Jack's dad, dave, Eko's bro etc. until we saw the russian's little ranch house with horses and cattle. now I think it was a stray out wandering.
-
is his last moment of pure joy, when he resurfaces he finds out Charlie is dead and it all goes downhill from there.....just watching it again, that scene maybe the last time we see Hurley truely smile..sad
-
add Eko's brother to the list of island manifestations. Any others?
-
On the island he was something else.
-
I thought he was imaginary off the island, but suspected he was something else on the island. Does wet, weird talking Walt count as a manifestation?
-
If you've read those transcripts it's hard to not think there are loads of unseen players there, that add up to a big piece of this puzzle. Maybe Jacob is the leader of yet another faction. The dead.
-
in one of the special re-cap episodes, they specifically mentioned the "other-worldliness" of the horse and that it meant something significant. I think all of the physical manifestations are from Jacob or Cerberus, (Smokezilla) or that Smokey itself is an id monster from Jacob ala Forbidden Planet. I think Jacob is caught between dimensions, like the island, and is trapped in time and space. He's a nexus between time, space and different realities...
-
I read the whisper transcripts too, they're fucking spooky. It's like there is a whole other thing going on behind the scenes of everythign we see. When it ties in with everything else I'm sure it will blow our minds. It will be the thing that convinces everyone they had planned the story from the beginning. (not all of it ofcourse, but the broad strokes of the beginning, middle, end.)
-
Sawyer's come a long way from being the jerk in Season One. I have a feeling he is going to be a big hero this year.
-
I have no idea what you're talking about.
-
Last nights ep was awesome. Who would have thought we would see Jacob (or at least his shack) in the first episode? As soon as my fiance and I saw it we both said out loud "Oh Shit!". I tried to go back and watch that scene again but my damn DVR didn;t work right. I thought it was Jacob in the chair (I didn't see the Christian connection, but if it is true thats pretty crazy) and the guy that jumped in front of the window was Locke. Thats why he was right there after Hurley left. I thought Locke was in the shack chill-laxing with Jacob.
-
All i really care about is either Locke or Sawyer (Preferably Locke) beating the ever lovin shit out of Douchie McDouche Jack. We saw hints but I want season 1 Locke hardcore badass mofo Locke. Please writer have him whup Jack's ass. Most of us hate whiney douchie Jack.
-
OMG!
-
This just popped in my head. Why is Jacob always just sitting in the rocking chair? If it was Christian there this time maybe someone else must occupy the chair in order for Jacob to be able to leave (and possibly take the form of other things). Maybe he can only leave for a short time and that is why the apparations do not last very long? I just thought it was wierd how he is just sitting in that same pose.
-
Yeah, that was definitely a significant one. Other people have mentioned Sayid's cat, but I'm not sure if it is the same cat or a different one. (maybe it's really Patchy's cat) I can't wait for Patchy to come back this season. You know he will be back, right?
-
Room 23 is the room where Karl was being brainwashed. It was also the talkback that acheivd (like the spelling?) the first perfect score. We also found a hidden closet in there that was much smaller than we expected.<P> Confused? That was my point.
-
If you search "cat" on lostpedia there are pics of the relevant cats in the show. It seems like peeps thought Amira's cat was the same as Patchy's cat Nadia, but lostpedia seems to indicate otherwise. Did nadia buy the farm? I don't recall.
-
Is the overnight viewing figure. Does Hanso/Widmore control Nielson too?
-
16.23million good for an American show??
-
anychance for a link for the easter eggs site??
-
Last seasons ratings were in the 10-11 million region.
-
But the eye in the window looks a lot like Mikhail to me...
-
45-50% increase over last year ain't bad.
-
Forgive me for being dense - but could you spell out your theory about Naomi's sister? I didn't get the reference. The only one I could think of was Walt's mother who was in Amsterdam but didn't have an accent. Did they mention a sister? Or is she Penny's sister from another mother? That wouldn't make sense though cuz then she'd be telling the truth. Help!
-
Maximus, I like your theories but I don't think the idea of a constant changing future (based on present choices) would work. Because that means the flash-forwards that we see now will constantly contradict each other because present Losties will keep changing them. And as a narrative I don't think it would work. They would be able to do whatever they wanted with no logic which would result in most people generally make the flash-forwards irrelevant. <br> And question about Jack's father possibly being alive. Didn't we see his body in Sydney, on the plane and on the island in a casket? Or was it empty, its been awhile.
-
thats a huge increase......if anything is going to force them to get the writers back it will be ratings like that....the cashcow called lost might just firce abc to not lose 8 episodes of revenue..start praying to whatever you believe in
-
yeah there are some wide holes in the theory but I was just thinking and typing out loud...haha<p> Jack saw his dad in the morgue from what I remember but on the Island the casket was empty, we dont see him being put in the casket or anything like that
-
much appreciated.....I tried darkufo but my computer just isn't getting onto it....
-
Ready?<p> In short, I loved it. I mean, it's not perfect. I would have liked a big "WTF" ending instead of the "what's gonna happen next?" ending that we did get. I also would have liked an even crazier beginning, but I did like the opening alot. I also hope that we haven't seen the last of grieving for Charlie, because what we got was fine, but i want to see more hurting, esp from claire.<p> But those are nitpicks I think, because what we got was so solid. The flashbacks infuse the show with a stronger forward momentum than we've had in a while, and they do a fantastic job of setting up new mysteries will still revealing bits of the story (namely, how hurley ended up post-island).<p> I loved the sequence with Abaddon (sp?) visiting Hurley in the institution. It doesn't get much more unsettling than that. I loved the charlie swimming vision in the interrogation room. The bit with the moving house. <p>I like how, even though they're showing the future, this still feels like the same show we all know and love. It feels like a natural extension of the storyline from last year.<p> I liked the little conversation between hurley and charlie in the recess yard. I'm not sure if it's the island's reach into the real world or hurley's craziness, but I'm inclined to believe that it's the island. Liked the popping up of Ana's partner. <p> Loved the exchange between Jack and Hurley at the end. I'm sure there's more but it escapes me at the moment.<p> Overall, I'm totally satisfied. I love this show so maybe I'm predisposed, but it felt like I was watching a leaner, meaner lost, with new focus and it's sights set on telling a darker, more twisted story... And that's exactly what I was hoping for.
-
We saw his body in Sydney. Everyone seems to forget that. When we see Christian up and walking around anytime after Sydney. It's not him, it's something else.
-
Should be "the flashforwards infuse..."
-
who can take many manifestations. And all the "hallucinations" the characters have had have been Jacob in one form or another. Not the smoke monster.
-
thanks for clarifying. yeah it would be intriguing to tie someone from Michael's story into the Island. Especially since in Season 1 we glimpsed into Walt's specialness. Although it hasn't been explored at all since then. <br> <br> Then again, Susan is supposed to be dead. Unless that was meant to push Michael and Walt together so they can discover his 'purpose' with the island. Ahh I'm sooooo reinvigorated to have Lost back. No matter what happens in 2010 as far as the final answers, I will be happy just to have had all this suspense and the fun of theorizing with other fans.
-
what's the "present" timeline on the show. Instead, just view the show as bits and pieces of the story. There's no past, present, or future, just different points in a complete storyline. Look at it as if we're at the end, looking back on the whole thing.
-
Sick Fixx fainted and called the FED's on ya for doing that typo..
-
Gottalove the lost geeks<p> http://tinyurl.com/2bx2fd<p> it's all starting again, I forgot how much fun watching Lost was and then geeking out over the smallest thing
-
Thats an excellent way to put it. Its a jigsaw puzzle, while we're seeing the pieces, everything will really click once the entire story is told. Of course it'll seem a lot simpler then but no one can deny that the producers/writers have been extremely inventive with the show. And this applies whether or not they had 'everything planned from the beginning' IMHO
-
I think the smoke monster is something like Jacob's pet dog, cerberus, I would guess. I'm not sure which is walking around as Jack's dad and whatnot though.
-
That's why he's had to change his name.<p> The question is: is the boat group Dharma? Widmore? Abaddon is most likely with them. I'm inclined to believe it's Dharma. It makes so much sense. They realize after Locke enters 77 that the island has been compromised. The food drops stop coming. A week later a boat and a scout lands on the island... I don't know it just makes alot of sense to me.
-
Haha, thats alrite...its what fan theories are for. To be debunked. Otherwise we'd be writing for the show I suppose.
-
fantastic node.....just saw the one with the Charlie coming towards the window when Hurley was in the police station at the start of the episode...he had 'They need you' written no his hand<p> now unless you had a great television, freezeframe and the intuition to stop it at the exact second before he breaks the glass, then you would miss this<p> just shows the little things the writers throw in for us oubergeeks..most people won't see it, but for the select few out of the 16 million that do, its well appreciated
-
Even back before he boarded the plane, Hurley was being 'courted' by Smokey. It was Dave who first repeated those numbers to Hurley - the same numbers found on the hatch, and the same numbers later determined to be the sequence to preventing the huge electromagnetic whoopsie (did we ever really figure out what it was? Sky turning purple what what?)<p> So why would Smokey be toying around with Hurley and arrange to have the winning lottery numbers be the same set of numbers on the island?
-
two previews for next weeks shows...I like Jeremy Davis already and he has given maybe 10 seconds of dialogue...he's a good kinda creepy, he'd fit well in the Island..maybe he should take Ben out for a coffee....pity big gay Tom wasnt still about, he'd make his white candy ass feel very welcome
-
But damn if I don't wish they could have gotten all the real actors. Jack and Sayid sound ok, but Locke is pretty un-Terry O'Quinn sounding.
-
Leonard did. Real, flesh and blood, alive, Leonard.
-
Where can I get the transcripts? I couldn't make any of it out?
-
A ghost? A human with special powers? A human which through some event no longer exist in a physical form? Is Jacob and the Island one and the same? If so, then what is the Island?
-
of the whispers can be found on lostpedia it sounds like.

http://tinyurl.com/26lqjy<p> good spot nova, it looks good but as you said Locke's voice is a bit off
-
I have no idea what that means.

in my opinion everything in season 4 is intended to get us back to the point in time when the flash forward in through the looking glass takes place. Season 5 would than be the Oceanin 6 trying to get back to the Island. And Season 6 would wrap it in a bow. i have more details in my head but want some feedback
-
Does anyone know what kind of a game it is. From the preview it looks like a platform/action-adventure. Personally I would love a Lost adventure game. I know there's not much of an audience for adventure games anymore but think of Myst on the Lost island. I think that would be a perfect combination. If the Lost videogame gets good reviews I might have to actually play a videogame for the first time in a year or so.
-
So the pilot at the end is Charlie. Right?
-
whisper stuff on Lostpedia(fucking nuts) but I couldnt find any translations of last nights episode....any help
-
At the end of season 4. 5 will be about trying to get back and achieving it. 6 will be the final stand on the island. <p>Season 5 might continue the flash forwards but I think season 6 will be all in real time, no jumping around.
-
Sayid is just about to appear on the Jonathon Ross show. He better spill some beans. I especially stayed in tonight to download and watch Lost instead of going out.
-
At the end of the series someone could put it all together in chronological order and watch it that way.
-
Does anyone here think that even though it seems like the writers are trying to have it appear that Ben isnt the lesser of two evils that inevitably he is going to have some big hand in what is really happening
-
Was a heroin addict

can i just say that I am so glad you are about 1 million times more intelligent than gruntybear... the more i read that idiots posts, the more i laugh at your completely accurate response. good show man.
-
getting on the Helicopter? If not, he's screwing up time again.
-
I also think they're Dharma but Dharma is tied to Hanso which is tied to Widmore. Penny found the island at the end of season 2. It's entirely possible her father god that information as well and sent the freighter to find the island and reclaim it for Dharma/Hanso
-
Could all be present time, following on island people and off island people simutaneously. OR they could show how the off island people get back to the island while flashing forward to what happeneds when get back. OR once they get back to island, they could flashback to show what happened on the island while they were gone.
-
At least about the beard line being a lame chronology device. Beyond that, enh...<br> I didn't think the beard line was necessary. I could tell those events took place before the Jack-is-a-drunk-ass-mess scenes in the flash forward from last season. It was a little graceless. <br> Minor beef though.<br> Makes a provocative subject line dunnit?
-
its a chat show on the bbc here on friday nights and he did an unbelievable candid interview with Naveen Andrews there...<p>We found out he was not only a heroin addict but also an alcoholic...he's been dry for over 5 years now..which is an achievement in itself especially when you consider the number of Lost cast members who have been done for drinking and driving...<p> the interivew was very much based around his addiction and recovery and he seems a really nice quiet guy..<p> on the lost side of things, he said its annoying getting the script only 2 days in advance and he is constantly confused on set with whats going on...<p> he also said that he did not understand why they killed Charlie....he talked about him and Dominic doing there 'Alan Partridge'(a British comedy show) impressions on the beach and the American actors feeling a bit left out..<p> one interresting tidbit was when he was asked when the end of it all was..he said it was over in 2010.another two seasons and he started to waive hsi hand from side to side. the way he phrased and it sais this left me to believe that he was hoping to finish season four....I cant really describe what he said or did but it definatly give me the sence that when he mentioned season 4 it was with the tone that there was unfinished business<p> it was a frank interview on his past rpoblems and some wee bits of lost juxtaposed within it....give it a wee check on you tube later on maybe...
-
After all this time I was taking a rest from Lost - i felt like hitting the Snooze and going back to sleep
-
I wouldnt like to try and find that Island again...<p> there is a chance that the Paik group and Winmore groups are rivals in trying to find and claim the island..along with Dharma and Penny's search team the Island could get a busy place....but there is nothing to suggest yet that the multi millionaires of Lost are in with each other..maybe they are enemies, we may get a clue if Sun see's a picture of Penny and goes nuts...would be great to ahve them two fighting in the mud, tehy could make 'Tell me you love me' look like a kiddies show
-
But he still kept on flicking his hair like a big girls blouse. And Britt was wicked
-
that it actually takes more effort to reach over to type e before h than the other way around.
-
ladies and gentlemen we have a hater...welcome..<p>so whats your beef with LOST?????<p> Is it the mysteries, the fantastic in-depth characters, the shit hot story lines, the great editing and level of production not seen on anyother programme, is it its tension and ability to surprise you at every turn, or is it its cheek to make you have to think about what you just saw after it is over???<p> its bound to be one of those?? go on enlighten me??
-
on the island and having flashbacks or forwards that it's really just the island doing that, and not the show format.
-
yeah I did notice that, he was probably a bit nervous talking about the subject matter..plus the fact Ross is well renouned for taking the piss out of his guests,,, his interview with Tom Hanks a few weeks ago was fantastic..alot of respect for Hanks after taking that abuse and coming back with some of his own...<p>but Sayid was very dignified and honest and I think Ross acknoweldged that and respected that...plus if he would have made a jibe Sayid would have been over the table snapping his neck whilst smiling a the camera<p>I made teh point before in room 23 but i wonder if they will do a flash forward where some of the Oceanic 6 make a few appearances on the American talk show scenes..."Tonight on Letterman, Oceanic Flight 815 Airlines survivor Jack Shepard and music from Elvis"..LOST
-
I thought you weren't going to read my posts...why not put ur finger over the word on the screen everytime u see me spell something wrong and then we can be friends...
-
yea he just "grunted" and was gone, quite funny..... ive never met such a TV obsessed generation in my life....really sad
-
The thing about Ross is that he is a committed Cinemaphile but he waters his shit down for mainstream tv. His Film tv series, even though I don't always agree with him, is still miles beyond anything else you see mainstream. His interview was good in a personal sense, but it does seem like the cast know as much as we do about what will happen in Lost
-
Too much booze. Would you do Cat Power?
-
The Oceanic 6 are: Jack, Kate, Hugo, Sayid, Sun & Jin. Aaron also gets off the island, but wasn't a "passenger" on the plane. Claire gets on the chopper as seen by Desmond. Then they throw her off. She dies. Kate adopts the boy. Aaron is the "him" Kate had to get home to.

It's a training ground for Rangers. Remember in Babylon 5 when there was the great burn, and Earth went back to the Dark Ages. This is it. Years later Delenn's descendant is using this island and Vorlon technology (smokezila) to test those worthy of being rangers. Locke has the lock on being a ranger. Ha, I kill me.
-
before he crashes the interrogation glass, it says "they need you." Cool little easter egg. Anyone have a screen shot?
-
Kinda looks like the eye-patch guy to me?
-
I hope those spoilers are bogus because not only does it not make sense within the context of the story but it seems pretty stupid, too. I do believe that those are the 6, though. But if that death goes down as you said... that's fucking lame.
-
A guy grabs another guys hand to head off with Locke. Overall, boring episode. Felt like catchup for people who haven't been watching the last year.
-
Whats all this about adverts.hasnt everyone in the states got tivo or some hard drive storage equivalent. You just tivo it,start watching after 20 minutes and forward through every advert. I havent watched a tv advert for ages now and the sooner they get rid off of them and find another means of revenue the better we'll be.

If you slow it down Hurley sees him sitting in the chair that Jacob was in before.

Novaman -- don't be so absolute that Jack's Dad isn't Jacob
by jimbojones123
How many other "dead" people have made appearances again -- Libby is said to be back again soon as well.. Maybe in flashbacks -- maybe more. Remember -- EMPTY CASKET!!!!
-
Don't hold to him being real either. He never comes back after his brief pass through. HURLEY IS SERIOUSLY NUTS -- Or possessed by the island. If he can "SEE" Jacob as good as he did -- maybe he's more powerfully linked to the island. Maybe Dave was always part of the island. We already suspect the numbers "came" to him for a reason. Hurley and the Island seem to be linked more than Ben or Locke maybe..
-
By the way, Ben has a spy on the freighter (Michael perhaps? The who is just a guess). And, off island Sayid becomes a Ben spy as well.
-
Man - you guys have been busy! MP, glad you got to see the show. I see it's up on iTunes here in the USA already. Get well soon and back into the classrooms soon, dude! rb, glad you made it home safely for the show as well. <p> The biggest thing about last night's show - I think I got my wife hooked. Finally! <p> Great easter eggs you guys have been posting too. I always wonder if all of those coincidences are planned and written that way, or just coincidences. <p> I've still yet to watch this a second time completely, but I'm sure that was Christian in Jacob's chair. But that didn't look like Patchy's eye. <p> Here's my nitpick - water pouring into rooms. When Charlie drowns in TTLG, and last night the interrogation room, when the water pours in it looks too CGI. Fix that, along with the Polar Bears and the guys jumping out of helicopters! <p> Keep up the great posts, guys, I love reading this stuff! And ignore the haters - not worth the time to respond to them.
-
You're an ass. Oh wait, you already knew that, didn't you?
-
Big Lost fan but I didn't get to rewatch seasons 1-3 before the opener and my memory has gone to shit. Will someone give me a reminder of what we know about Darma/Hanso/The Others/The Hostiles? I'm thoroughly confused.
-
Well I did say it was a "Major Spoiler." You are the one that read it.
-
C'mon, don't make me unleash Node on you. You won't like it.
-
Check out lostpedia.com. Great for a refresher and it'll fill you in on EVERYTHING. <p> Basically, the Dharma Initiative is not operational on the island any longer. Ben sabotaged them and he and the "Hostiles" have reclaimed the island. These are the current Others.

Should I bring up again that in the world of REAL PHYSICS
by jimbojones123
The water in the Looking Glass would stop filling the station when it gets to the top of the window. Even if the door is open -- it would only fill to that point. If not -- it would already be flooded by the big hole in the bottom of the station. Maybe it's the way that the Island's special physics work????

i read a review of this episode on a blog today and the guy was complaining about the writing. one of things that he mentioned was why would someone parachute out of helicopter? wouldn't you just land and let the guy out? then i remembered that i thought it looked like the helicopter was spinning out control. is it possible that i maybe crashed or am i crazy?
-
i mean 'is it possible that maybe IT crashed...sorry
-
definitely looked like it was going to crash.
-
Christian Shepherd. That was my assumption.
-
I'm reading through the entire history of Lost right now. And its absurdly thorough.
-
I heard last nights show won the night with some pretty decent ratings. Anyone heard anything? I heard like 15 million viewers.
-
It looked like he had a head of hair to me...and at least one eyeball. I know Locke showed up right after, but he didn't seem to have the same vibe as the peeper in the shack. I suppose it could have been the Russian but I didn't think it looked like him. Where's Richard?
-
NOT a spoiler. It has been confirmed over and over on mainstream, non-spoiler sites. TV Guide and "Kristen" from what is it, E Television. The Oceanic 6 ARE, without a doubt, no question... Jack - Kate - Hurley (JumboTron) - Sayid - Jin - Sun. An Ep later this season is titled with the name of Sun's baby...so we know HE makes it. Cuse mention there is a 7th that isn't included in the 6 because he/she doesn't make it off the same time as the others (No doubt MIchael) as it is CONFIRMED he is in a FlashForward with an alias in Ep 8. Michael (my guess 90% certain) is in the coffin after off-ing himself. The newpaper clipping Jack has mentions the dead dude is from NY and leaves a son. So END the speculation about the O-6 already...that is a done deal.

Fix the spaces on the link and you'll get there. Lots of good stuff there if you want tidbits without ruiners (there are some mild spoilers) about the next 7 eps.

...and she'll fuck in a bear cage. With cameras. Gotta like a chick that doesn't mind rusticfucks. If only she had Chiana's potty mouth, hey Big D? I have this image of Claire and Kate, Kate fed up with Sawyer and Claire grieving...Kate brushes back Claire's hair to comfort her, caressing her cheek... THAT'S the plot twist I'm waiting for.

We *don't* know that Naomi has a sister. She said, "Tell my sister I love her." This could easily be code that something has gone wrong and dictates a strategy. You know, like asking if you walked Fluffy?

What do you mean NOT A SPOILER? All of that information you have was obtained OUTSIDE OF THE FUCKING SHOW ITSELF, which means, by definition, ITS FUCKING SPOILERS YOU MORON. Just because it might be common knowledge doesn't mean jack shit, you simpleton.

"Mainstream nonspoiler sites" ... jesus I just can't get over your idiocy edshrinker. "Like, I guess if Yahoo fucking news is reporting it, instead of some shady geocities looking site, then it must be okay!" Fucking dumbass.

Look man, I love lost. I am mystified as to the writers' ability to create canon that has so many questions and ties to science, psudoscience, history, literature, etc... with the promise of one day tying it all together. If what I posted spoiled your experience in any way I apologize. I stear clear of spoiler sites - there are a thousand questions revoloving this show - when Carton Cuse and Damon Lindlof actually VERIFY an answer to a couple, I get excited and want to share it with others who love the show. It seemed from this talkback lots of people wanted to know. The other info is right from press releases for the show that were emailed to me and I am speculating...but feel pretty confident. I am very sorry if I screwed up something for you in regards to a show you enjoy. As for being a idiot, dumbass, moron, and simpleton - I have been those things and more many times in my life. If I had been spoiled regarding a show I love - I would have been furious. Like I said - I love the show too and wouldn't want bombs dropped out of nowhere. If you can give me some slack - this is a talkback discussing stuff we think/know about Lost and everything I listed was from the producers - talked about in TV Guide and the "E" show. With all the questions that remain, I love it when we get some answers from the makers. Thought you might too. My fault and I am sincerely sorry. Enjoy the many other mysteries of Lost and I'll keep my yap shut.
-
Nice "Angel" reference. I miss Amy Acker's boney ass. At least she is getting work - haven't seen Andy Hallett show up in anything yet. Lorne was always good for a couple yuks. Wasn't Fred response something like, "If he means what I think he means, that's really inappropriate"
-
You're right again. The only reason water stays put in he sub bay is due to the pressure balance in the Looking Glass. Not sure Charlie knew that - all he KNEW was IF he dies, Claire and Aaron get in a chopper according to Des' vision. That's all he cares about at the moment is my guess
-
What I cannot figure is why Naomi spent her dying breath -she knew she was dying -covering for them. If I had just been wacked with a knife in the back (nice symbolism), making sure there were no hard feeings would not be my last words. Code? Why? She was dying, she didn't need one...unless its code for "these people are insane" and she didn't want to tip Kate off she was telling George just how crazy they are. My big question takes it back a step...why did Kate feel it necessary to steal the phone from Jack?

Don't you love it how everyone is 100% sure of their Lost theory? No lack of confidence when it comes to Lost fans, lol

he was definitely sitting on that chair. might not be jacob but he was there. after that freaky last mobisode i'd believe he might even be an autobot.
-
this place turned into spoilerville when I left last night....Jesus...
-
the flashbacks over the last 2 seasons made almost all the characters unlikeable. Except Charlie, Desmond and Locke. As I think about their rescue, I really don't care about these people ... only the mysteries and the island itself.
-
Room 23 guys, check out Mori's top 10 part 2! Posted this morning. Very eloquent words for how the talkback became a community.
-
You are a sick puppy
-
Aaron is the 'he' Kate refers to in the S3 finale She literally gets away with murder in her flashforward as she's cleared of her crimes in court The smoke monster protects Jacob's cabin The boaties/freighteries find a dead polar bear in the desert wearing a Dharma collar in their flashback There is more love triangle crap and more questions raised than answers, just for a change The writers are making this shit up as they go along and you are all idiots for lapping it up, go and watch Battlestar and see how it should be done.
-
Actually, aside from my guess of who the freighter spy is, they are not guesses. You will see when episode 4 ends with Kate coming home to Aaron after all her criminal charges are dropped. I have plenty of theories, but these be spoilers.

But this year… this year, I’ve gotta give some love back to talkback, and to the Lost talkbackers who managed to keep a talkback alive for an impossible amount of time without padding it artificially and without turning it into a cesspool or a flame war and without needing any sort of moderation from us at all after a while. It just… lived. And I think it helped reinforce a real sense of community among many talkbackers, something I hope we’ll see carry into this new season of the show and into other talkbacks on other topics. And even if it doesn’t… at least you guys reminded me that the damn thing works, and that the only ones who can really control that are you.<p> a nice wee tirbute to the good men and possibly women of room 23..
-
u live up to you name....
-
I saw it mentioned somewhere else in this talkback. I thought he looked a lot like charlie. I wonder if that's why jack looked at him so strangely?
-
I just realized it's daniel faraday!
-
I just wanted to add a few more comments after seeing TBotE a second time. Make that 2 1/2 viewings. <p> Got my DVR to pause at the right spot - yup, Charlie's hand says "They Need You," visible for an instant before the window breaks and starts flooding the interrogation room. <p> Loved the little wink Jack gives Ben when he talks over the sat phone to the freighter folks. He's loving his advantage! <p> Hurley's nurse does interact with his Connect 4 buddy. That dude isn't imaginary. I'm not sure if it was the same guy who warned Hurley that someone was staring at him later. <p> Hurley's cannonball made me wonder - I've never opened my eyes underwater in saltwater. Does it sting any worse than opening your eyes in a chlorine pool? Just wondering. <p> I'm 99.9% sure that was Christian Shephard in Jacob's shack, sitting in the chair. At least, it was the actor who plays him. What it really was, I don't know. Remember, he's got a son, daughter, and grandson on the island. I keep forgetting he's Aaron's grandpa - that's got to mean something. <p> I spent some time looking at the eye that scared Hurley as well. I does sort of look like Desmond's and Patchy's, but I don't think it's them - it's Jacob. Same eye as last time at the shack. When we get to see his full face, I don't know. <p> Who said there were two gay losties holding hands when the two camps split? It's one dude handing a bag to another dude! Nothing more. <p> So, help me out - who's on whose team? <p> Team Locke - Hurley, Claire/Aaron, Sawyer, Rosseau, Alex/Carl, Ben ... who'd I forget? <p> Team Jack - Kate, Rose/Bernard, Juliet, Sayid, ....? <p> Who did Sun/Jin and Desmond team up with? I'll have to watch again, closely. Who am I forgetting? <p> The episode, without commercials, was around 43 minutes - same as any other one you watch on DVD.
-
My mistake edshrinker, I thought you were some regular ol' talkback dumbass, sometimes it's hard to tell from one post alone. You're alright by me brother.
-
Did anyone ever ask or get an answer why the "You know what's interesting about Mathew Fox?" talkback froze up? Was it in anticipation for this talkback? I was trying to post there in the 2 hour gap after it froze but before this talkback was posted. Just curious, once again.
-
Did anyone notice Alex hugging Juliet when the two camps reunited? What history would those two have? Would Alex know that Juliet helped the Losties out - or would she still suspect her? I suppose Carl could have filled her in.
-
They've known each other for more than three years. I think at this point Alex is pretty well filled in on her whole deal.
-
I have to learn to keep my boner in my pants when it comes to stuff that is revealed - like you said, not a spoiler to me but may be a BIG one to others. Cool thing is knowing the O-6, and knowing that some WILL be going back to help the ones left behind (Matthew Fox doesn't know for sure, but he is assuming that when his character Jack says he has to do something...by God he's gonna do it), this whole story adds a thousand more questions. One I'd really like answered is the whole bunny #15 thing. Are they time traveling, alternate realties...what is the science/psudoscience element to this? That would start to bring so much into focus so WE could start figuring stuff out instead of waiting like sheep for the reveal. And thanks for saving the world. Try some percocet for that headache...you'll still have it but won't care.

Kristen at E Online posted an interview with Jorge Garcia - discussing Thursday's Ep. Very interesting info on the cabin and some other stuff that might be considered spoilerish so careful.. *** Minor Spoilers Re: Beginning of the End *** If you’re a Lost fan who watched last night’s episode, you must read this. My bat phone just rang up with Jorge Garcia on the other end to talk about Hurley’s mental status, Dominic Monaghan’s return and some things no one knows about last night's episode, including who was really in the chair in Jacob's house when they shot it. (Shhh!) Read on for all the goods... All I’ve wanted to do since last night is give Hurley a hug. Really? That was a fantastic episode, and you knocked it out of the park. I laughed when you cannonballed. I cried when you broke the news to Claire. Your performance was better than ever, and I know the fans loved it. Wow. Thank you. That’s really good to hear. I felt good about that episode. When I got the script, it was like the heart of the show was back. And even more than that, I felt like—as soon as we all got our scripts for that premiere—that sense of "Oh my god did you read it?" or "Did you get the next script?" was back, just like we were back in season one. We couldn’t wait for the next script. There was some creepy stuff in that episode. It took us a while to figure out where John Terry (Jack’s father) was. And then Damon said to "look for the white shoes" and it was like, "Holy crap! Jack’s dad is in Jacob’s house!" Me too. That wasn’t the way it was in the script. There was someone else in the chair. What? Really? Was it a different person, or they didn’t tell you who was in the chair? We shot it with someone else in the chair. Are you allowed to say who was in the chair originally? Yeah. I think so. It was me. I was in the chair when we shot it. Crazy town! Why did they change it? I don’t know. At first I thought maybe they decided that putting Jack’s father there was a much better twist, which it was, so they changed it. But now I think maybe they planned that all along and didn’t want to have it in the script because they didn’t want anyone to know about it. So, it seems the producers are getting very crafty in keeping those secrets. Yeah, I think so. I know that when guest stars come on, they’ll have them read with one actor and a script, and then when they get it, it’s a totally different script and scene and actor. And last night, the scene in the police department also was different. When we shot it, it was an aquarium. Like, a real aquarium. And none of us knew it would be Charlie inside there. They added that later on. Well, that was a great twist, too. Did you hear about what was written on his hand? "They Need You." Oh, cool. I think that's what he said to me at the asylum. So, how was it for you shooting that scene with Dominic? Was it a nice surprise for you all that he would be coming back? Definitely. A lot of people have said that they felt Charlie and Hurley were really the most solid relationship on the island. And so to have him come back was just very cool. And I liked that he was sort of a better version of Charlie. A lot of people, when they die on our show, like with Ian, they come back and they are like the heaven version of themselves. How they would want to be. Do you think that Hurley is really mentally ill? Or is there some mystical element from the island making him see things? In [last night’s] episode, I was playing it that Hurley was so haunted by Charlie and by Charlie’s last words that he couldn’t get past it. And so he wanted to go to the one place, the last place where he felt safe, and that was Santa Rosa. I have an interesting question from a fan, if you don’t mind. Nicholas in Peoria, Illinois, asks: "Please settle this ongoing debate from our Lost party last night. First, what did Jacob say to Hurley when Hurley was lost in the jungle by the house? Second, in the third-season finale, with Jack's flash-forward, didn't one of the doctors ask, 'Do you wanna go upstairs and talk to your dad?' So, would that mean more people are dying and coming back in the Lost universe? That would explain Jack's dad on the Island." For the first part, um, let me look at my script to make sure...But yeah, there wasn’t anything in the script as far as what was being said. That was just jungle whispering. I don’t know if it was Jacob or the jungle or whatever, but it’s just whispering. I’m sure some guy somewhere will figure it out, like the guys who figured out what Shannon and Walt said. As for the second part, did someone really say that to Jack? I didn’t know that. Maybe that was sort of a red herring to throw people off the scent of that being a flash-forward. I really don’t know. But I do know that the producers have said that when someone dies, they really do die. They are dead. So Hugo was originally in the chair? What? Don't get that at all, but nice to get the confirmation it was Christian Shepherd in the shack. And the words on Charlie's hand. And the whole "if you die, you're dead" stuff - with no real answers as to who/what these dead folks are that are popping up. Sounds like Jorge has no clue either. I would love to see the overall outline for this mythology in the end, to see how it was all put together. Be a good read in 2011.

Nova, Jimbo, etc. Good to see you guys again. Now where's offput?<P> MP - you're right, I forgot about the geekdom too. I love that shit.<P> The Mori "award" was quite touching. Since the Ep already aired, none of the stuff above is spoilery (spoilery?), but I have been deservingly reprimanded and I realize some may not have seen the Ep yet - hence the warnings. If you have watched S04E01 - read away - there is nothing in there about future eps or the overall mystery. Just interesting stuff right from Hugo in between massive bites of Mr Clucks chicken.

Its the one where jack sees his wife sarah and new husband from the car. The deleted part is that jack sees the girl in the same scene choking on something, so he gets out of the car and does hiemlich manouever on the kid. Before that he and his ex-wife spar and he is reminded that she is his ex-wife and tells him to sign the papers. Anyway he is walking back to the car and the girl turns to him and says dont trust her jack. does something happen to jack later on and does his ex wife use the situation against him . What was also revealing on another deleted scene is conversation between Ben and jack about Alex. Ben is not alex real father. according to ben the real father is dead. Ben never told alex who her mother was because how do you tell someone that their mother is a murderer.

shared a scene with Desmond. Surely, any relationship stemming from the two of them knowing each other would be more explosive and revelatory than normal. Ben must have known of Kelvin and Desmond's presences on the island.

just read through a good portion of the posts since i was last on. here are my thoughts:<br><br> 1. The Coffin is Not Empty!<br>A real person died. If Jack knew that a death was staged in order to get back on the island do you really believe he'd be so emotional or be so shocked that not a single person went to the funeral? To me there are only 2 possibilities. The first and what i do believe to be true, is that Ben Linus died after Jack made him come back to the real world. Jack is someone who likes to fix people remeber? He did indeed fix ben, but taking him off the island made his tumor come back, and in the end killed him. Jack always wants to save people! Thats why he's so upset. Or, it's Rose for the exact same reason as Ben. Cancer. However i believe that Bernard would be there, unless he dies...<br><br> 2. Jack's father is dead. The End. The island physically manifests memories from our survivors past. i.e. Kates Horse, Hurley's Dave and Jack's Father. 3. Jacob is the accumalation(sp?) of all dead souls on the island. Ben said "every single living person will die". Why say it that way? Because Jacob is the more or less the keeper of the island, he knows all, he is all. This could explain why Hurley saw Jacks dad. Yes, he died off the island but his body remained there. This one's a little too crazy for me, but it would make sense why jacob looked different each time we saw him. <br><br> thats all for now. cant wait for next weeks mind blower!!!
-
...Sick Fixx. There has to be something coming...Ben observed Des all those years with the hidden cameras, he must know a lot about him. When the time comes to play his manipulation card with Des, I imagine he has lots to draw on to get in his head. Not to mention info from the mainland that was happily supplied by Charles Widmore to keep Des away from his Daughter...yummy Penny. Widmore is playing a bigger role this season supposedly, just don't know how yet. Mmmm Penny. Need more Penny.

Saw a report on the news tonight that sources are saying an agreement has been reached in principle about royalties for internet sales. The report said a signed agreement could happen as early as this upcoming week.<P> So maybe we'll get a full season after all.
-
I finally freeze-framed the image in HD, and it's almost certainly Christian Shepard. While you can't see the face, the hair is the same and most importantly, it's definitely his suit and tie. (the same one Jack sees him in on the island) His burial suit, perhaps? Now, does this mean that Christian is Jacob? I can't that say for certain, but to me that doesn't make sense, as Jacob was on the island prior to Christian's "arrival" on Flight 815. Maybe Christian is just another "manifestation" that Jacob has appropriated for his own purposes. (but then again, Christian's coffin was empty!) As to the eye in the window, I say it was Locke. The color of the eye is the same as Locke's. And what does the message on Charlie's hand in the police station mirror mean? "They need you." Who is they? Losties back on the island? We'll just have to wait and see...
-
The funeral director offers to open the casket for Jack he sure wouldn't do that if the thing was empty. It was a "viewing", have to have a body for a viewing or they would just say it's closed casket. Could it be Ben? Sure. Richard travels to the "real world - why not Mr. Linus? But Jack is suprised no one came...that would be no suprise if it were Ben. If the newspaper clipping is not a red herring, then it has to be a man (not Rose)from NY, dead in a poor part of LA, leaving a son. My guess is the clipping is real. The name is an alias and Michael (not friend or family and likely to illicit the snear Kate gives when Jack asked her about the funeral - he betrayed her - and Jack & Sawyer big time) is from NY would have to have an alias if he made it back - there would be too many questions if he and only he and Walt showed up. He is a murderer twice over. He leaves a son. Black neighborhood in LA - they realy made that clear by showing Jack's surroundings as he made his way from truck to Hoffs/Drawler (I LOVE that anagram!) Fixx - I think you are DEAD ON with #2 (pardon the shitty pun) Jacob, or the island/Jacob/Smokey (one in the same??)can manifest (confirmed by Cuse/Lindelof) and does so to manipulate - dead loved ones would be really effective. Though Missing Pieces #13 creates the question, why does the Christian apparation say "my son" and feels the need to show up like that for Vincent? Gosh, Labs are smart, but I don't think pooch needed the visual. Well- why in the cabin then too? Maybe since it has to appear as something, Christian is it's default setting since the crash - or the first dead person it encountered so it took that form. Too many damn questions!!!!! And I will come back for the beating week after week "thank you may I have another". I'm starting to feel like Ben. That man is gona ned facial reconstruction after Jack, Locke, Sawyer, hell - Danielle! - gets through with him. Need another plane crash with a plastic surgeon on board.
-
Sounds like sensitive parts of the anatomy
-
That is fantastic news - I pray it is true. I believe they said if they could crank it back up some time in February they might be able to put out 4-5 more eps. Not a full season, ,but 12-13 sounds a helluva lot better than 8 - especially w/8 ending in a WTF cliffhanger. Maybe we get the final 3 or 4 in a special event during a summer month when EVERYONE (except Sci-Fi) is languishing with reruns. How cool would that be? Mat sweeps - but special events in July to finish out the season. Film the last 3-4 at the beginning of filming for the 5th season. Perpetual New Lost episodes. God, I'm hard.
-
May Sweeps. Stupid typing.

Kudos to whoever mentioned that Kate is a fugitive and wouldn't have been one of the Oceanic Six. Of course, this makes narrowing the list a bit easier. Juliet wasn't on the manifest, and neither were Rousseau, Alex or Ben. Though Rose is as loyal and lovable as she's always been, I doubt she truly wants to leave the island - knowing what's in store for her. Desmond's bang(ing/ed) the chick that's gonna save 'em all so he's a shoe-in. Desi's vision showed Claire boarding a helicopter so she's in as well. Sun's life depends on getting off that island and Jin's not leaving his baby mama's side so count them in. My Oceanic Six: Jack, Hurley, Desmond, Claire, Sun and Jin. Miscellaneous: Kate, Sawyer and Charlie.<p> Charlie, IMO, is still alive. How? Why? To begin with, the other patient saw him. It seems unlikely that the smoke monster would exist sans island. Think of it as the figurative 'heart/soul' of the place. Also, Charlie had an entirely different appearance. If there's one thing that didn't make any sense it would be that. The actual hallucination from the Interr. Room featured the hoodie Hurley last saw him in. Why would his mind create an apparition with brown sandy hair and rock star apparel? My best guess is that he's either a post-op Dharma/Oceanic agent (hello Alias), Mikhail lied about the shockwaves and Charlie's been revived by the Others (specifically Jacob and Rick Alpert - the IMMORTAL), or Charlie's in cahoots with the "good guys" we've yet to meet.<p> Now for the coffin. My initial thought was Locke - neither friend nor family, probably living incognito, nobody left but Helen who hates him - but it's pretty apparent that guy would rather commit suicide than leave the island. That's when it struck me: it's SAWYER! Soon, we're gonna find out if Kate's pregnant or not and if she is...well, let's just say we know who she had to get back to. Of course, how Kate got off the island scot-free is still undetermined.<p> Last but not least, Jacob. I haven't viewed the screenshot on the wiki yet, so I couldn't tell you if it was Christian or not. All I know is his body has been missing since the plane fell out of the sky. Should we add possession to Jacob's list of numerous talents? Maybe he's been inhabiting the body as his physical form, which would explain why Jack followed his father ("White Rabbit") to his own grave immediately after the crash. Unless, of course, you have a better explanation as to why Christian fancies rocking chairs. Speaking of which, who was keeping guard in the cabin? The obvious answer would be Locke but it doesn't add up. Why wouldn't he have the conversation with Hugo in the cabin? Why would he just abandon Jacob after keeping such a watchful eye on him and return to Jack and the survivors? If you ask me, he had a fairly slimmer chance of getting a bullet in his skull back in the forest.<p> On a side note, did anyone wonder why Locke's gun was suddenly empty? He had at least five out of six bullets in it when he climbed out of the massive grave Ben dug up. Besides firing one at Jack and the phone, I can't recall any other use of it. Odds are it really was loaded, but being the bright man he is, Locke took his chances and lied to Jack to prevent this once-sane doc from playing a game of Russian Roulette and blowing his brains out.<p> And this post isn't complete without mentioning how kick-ass that season premiere was. Anyways, what do you guys think? Keep those theories comin' - they've gotta last until next Thursday!
-
Desmond was not on 815 so he wouldn't count.
-
Why would Kate not be one of the O-6? She was in custody and being extridited back to the US accompanied by a Marshall. Uncle Sam bought her ticket, but she most certainly WAS a legitimate passenger, therefore one of the O-6. PLEASE READ NO FURTHER IF YOU DO NOT WANT A MAJOR SPOILER Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof (producers) verified the O-6. I stupidly posted it as a non-spoiler earlier because I thought it was common knowledge by now (saw it on TV Guide, E! and other sites). O-6 ARE: well, read my post above. There is a 7th that is off the island but is not known as an Oceanic survivor - they did NOT let on as to who that was. Popular theory is Sun's baby...who's name is the title to episode #7 (Verified by the lovely Sun herself in an interview). There you have it. The story is only 1/2 over however. Some of the O-6 will indeed go back to help those left behind...no idea who will be left alive to go back for, but there will be several. ***End spoiler
-
...is coming. It will be explained in a flash-forward in one of the next 7 eps. I have no idea why it's LA, but they had a big news blooper on the local Hawaiian News station because they had a building downtown all dressed up like the LA county courts complex and had picketers out front shouting "murderer"! The news people thought something real was happening. Saw it on You Tube. I know more about the Ep from some confirmed info, but I don't want to be an ass with the info. Look it up yourself and you'll see what it's about - along with a couple other confirmed answers the Lost folks finally gave us...creating a thousand NEW questions.
-
you don't want to believe me and don't mind being spoiled a bit, check out this site which is one of my favorites for answers when I just can't stand it anymore. This site is great and the "theories" section is a hoot. Some of them are amazing and would have probably scored better than my Master's thesis. http://tinyurl.com/2hugrf

Guy Who Got A Headache And Accidentally Saves The World
by jimbojones123
So the air above the window just no longer exists??? Yes, the pressure would be compromised UP TIL THE WINDOW. The air above the window would compress once the water level stabilizes -- but it would not fail to exist. Where does that air go? It isn't electricity. It can't just "jump" to the hole and force itself out of the room. Just because the glass breaks, the air wouldn't be PUMPED out of the upper air vents. That would be kinda dumb as well.

Guess this has gone uberspoiler. Farewell talkback....
by jimbojones123
We hardley knew you.
-
He looks so different from the season finale, even though it takes place right after.
-
I wondered about that. When he shows up at the mental institution to see Hurley. He looks sickly. Screwdriver diet? He did just get done with Speed Racer didn't he? I remember reading something about him sweating off a shitload of weight daily in that leather jumsuit he had to wear doing fight scenes, etc. That trailer - he really does look like Racer X. -Sorry Jim. I'm just pointing you in the right direction if you WANT to know. THe other stuff I mentioned, you're probably right, just saying "spoiler ahead"...I probably couldn't resist reading on either and it would be smarter to bolt than be tempted. I'll knock it off.

I don't know what your talking about man, All I said was if charlie hadn't of shut himself in it would have compromised the air pressure of the whole damn station, then no one would have been able to go back up. Yeah, I get that the water should have only risen to the window in that room room, I get it, but why make a big deal out of it, they goofed, it was like a year ago, let it go man. If I remember right you were going on about this back when that big ass talkback just started.

L. Ron Hubbard. That's right. Scientology Island. It explains everything. Easily. Think about it. Time travel, monsters. Yup, Even Ethan/ William Mapoter. Remember, Tom Cruise's name in M:I, (another Bad Robot franchise)? ETHAN. HOW's THAT!!
-
Mapother, I know.

Hmm...let's see...the island is in a snow globe and an autistic hurley imagined the whole thing. jack wakes up in bed with Jennifer Love Hewitt and tells her what a bad dream he just had? (No, I never watched party of 5, so if they were related on the show I don't want to hear it). sawyer and kate finally hook up publicly, while jack and juliet get married, adopt Aaron, and find a home in the suburbs. Phoebe closes the light in the apartment as they exit. Jack kills the 1 armed man in a battle at the top of the radio tower. jack, kate, sawyer and sayid end up in jail bickering with each other the gang gets picked up by helicopters and returns from korea. The T-Rex comes and kills the raptors, allowing the gang and Richard Attenborough to escape. Locke Kills Sylar before the world can explode.
-
JAck and Kate are crystalized out in a rowboat, their bodies breaking into pieces and falling into the ocean, where 3 months later they are retreived by a muppet version of Hurley swimming along the ocean floor and swallowing the pieces. Unfortunately, after being reconstituted they realize Kate was preggers with Sawyers baby and now it is growing exponentially in Hurley's stomach. Problem is, because of Hurley's size and insatiable appitite, they never notice. Eventually a full grown adult bursts out of Hugo's chest and they name him Jacob. Meanwhile, the Losties and Others are at war and are both in desperate need of Jack's wormhole technology implanted in his brain by his father Christian...or who he THOUGHT was his father but was really an alien. The wormhole will connect the island with Portland via vibrations from bad 90's grunge music and American eagle flannel shirts...it's complicated, don't ask. But in a twist, the bunnies on the island side with the Losties as they are sick of being carried around in duffle bags and spray painted with numbers. They force the Others into a truce and use the wormholes to travel to Stargate command, where they join the cast of SG-1 in a new spinoff of the spinoff of the webisode: Stargate: Sanctuary, starring Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly doing a bad English accent. Whew.

Is Jacob just some name Ben gave it, or is that his real name?
-
The ladies down in the underwater hatch said that everything was waterproofed, and Charle probably could have been thrown from the room by the force of the grenade blast.

my guess for the ending
by Guy Who Got A Headache And Accidentally Saves The World
This is a serious one though. I'm pretty sure a volcano will explode at the end of the show, maybe take out the island. In Ben's flashback episode, in the science class room, they were doing volcanos and the teacher was all like, "yes there's a volcano here but don't worry children it's been dormant a VERY long time, blah etc" obvious telegraph there if you ask me. ....I guess that ties into captain_kirk's scientology theory too.
-
I'm not gonna read the TBs in fear of spoilers. However, could Season 4 top season 3? Probably yes, even at only 8 eps. Top Season 1? If it follows this strong lead in OMG YES
-
O.K. Stay with me on this. What if this isn't really happening at all?<p> What if there never was a plane crash?<p> What if there aren't any survivors?<p> What if there is no Island?<p> What if all these people are just actors hired by a television network to preform on a weekly scripted show as a way to draw high ratings and thereby increase the amount of advertising dollars they raise each year?<p> Whoa. :)
-
By 'waterproofed' they meant the equipment inside that chamber could get wet without failing...but the TV monitor blacked out awfully fast. <P> But that's not why Charlie could have survived the Looking Glass flood. <P> First off...it would have taken HOURS for that entire station to flood. If Charlie had NOT slammed the door shut....but rather calmly walked out and said..."Des...let's get swimming...this place is about to be flooded". He and Des could have played a game of backgammon before they left and still made it out with plenty of time to spare. <P> But that's only one flaw... <P> Even if Charlie slams the door shut...the chamber he was in would have only filled up to the line of the busted porthole window. The remaining air inside the chamber would have kept it from filling any higher than where the leak was. There would have been a helluva air pocket left at the top of that chamber that charlie could have survived on for a few hours before he suffocated from breathing his own recycled air...which would have given Des plenty of time to fetch a spare scuba set up to get them both outta there. <P> But...that's TV Land for ya!! <P> Same as if you shoot a scuba tank in a shark's mouth, it will not blow the shark to smithereens...but it certainly is more dramatic. Sometimes logic and physics goes out the window when great storytelling has to unfold.
-
Kate finally realizes Jack is right...they have to go back and save the Losties they left behind. <P> Trouble is...they don't have enough $$$ to do it...nor do they know exactly where to go back TO...as the island is still quite invisible to the outside world. <P> Enter Hurley...freshly sprung from the nut house...who says "I have $150 million dollars, dude...and my winning lotto numbers are the latitude/longitude coordinates to the location of the island. Let's roll". <P> They team up with Penny Widmore...and Sayid...who corrals a bunch of hard, pipe hittin' Iraqi friends...and they return to Craphole Island...however...the massive volcano has been erupting for weeks...as the electromagnetic pulse Des unleashed on September 22nd, 2004 has finally taken its toll on the island...the island itself is crumbling into the ocean...as the still stranded 815 survivors scramble to survive the island's eventual death. <P> They arrive just in time to "purge" the island of the Losties captors...Sawyer is reunited with Kate...and his 4 year old son...Juliette is reunited with Jack...but has sustained an injury that only Jack can fix...back in the states. Claire is reunited with Hurley, whom becomes the adoptive father of Aaron. Desmond is FINALLY reunited with Penny. Locke is killed....foiling a last second attempt by Ben to kill Jack. He dies saving Jack's life. Jack locks Ben up in a hatch...and the whole group flys away via helicopter...As it pulls away...they watch as the entire island begins to implode...sucking itself into a vortex in the sea...until all that's left is water, where the once powerful island once stood. <P> LOST
-
Those made me laugh out loud! Cheif, realistically, I like yours best. I could see something like that happening.
-
of the strike..were getting on the news over here too..please be the end

Looks like they've got something, and they just need both sides to finalize it. <p> Feeling better and ready to head back to the classroom, MP? My kids sure were rowdy last week! Have you subbed HS age lately? They know they're not supposed to have cell phones in class, and man they whine when you take them away when you catch them texting friends in class! And I've gotta be the bad guy.

it is a conversation bewteen ben and locke and it happens on the way to jacobs cabin.

...MICHAEL! IT HAS TO BE. THE FUNERAL SERVICE IS IN NEW YORK (WHERE MICHAELS FROM) AND...ahem...THERES NOTHING BUT AFRICAN-AMERICAN PEOPLE AT HIS FUNERAL. NOTICE KATES DISDAIN WHEN ASKED WHY SHE DIDN'T GO TO THE FUNERAL...EITHER THAT, OR SOMEONE THAT TOTALLY FUCKED EVERYONE ON THE ISLAND OVER, MAKING IT SO ONLY 6 SURIVIVORS LEAVE THE ISLAN...
-
Been a shit weekend all round...the kidneys are getting better but no way ideal....<p> My uncle died on Thursday night and was buried today..so im not in teh best frame of mind to go teaching but it has to be done..<p> tomorrow im in teh tough high school..tahts teh place if you were to confiscate a phone you'd be called a bastard and threatened with a lawsuit from their parents....I tell ya Big E, teaching is a great proferssion if you got kids that wanna learn but if you have children whose purpose in school is to be disruptive you can no longer carry out your job.....as an incentive for tehm to chill out and calm down sometimes I allow them to listen to their mp3 players and i-pods when thier doing work..but rarely cause tehy are not nice people take full advantage of generosity.....<p> so im going into a tough school tomorrow after a really rough weekend and still not 100% health wise, monday is not going to be a great day at all
-
and the jury is kind of out. Is jack working for Dharma initiative. I loved the scene with hurley in the interrogation room where he thinks he sees charlie swimming towards him. WOW. that abbadon is really creepy. as was the bit where Charlie has a conversation with him. Charlie was killed on the island, so his re-appearance is freaky. as is the fact that Hurley is not the only one who can see him. The writers seem keen to strike a balance. The know that the show is coming to an end. There were some answers but very little clues.
-
Desmond. is in the coffin. But it could be Micheal or Walt. With Charlie dead and gone. Des thinks his visions are over but he has more complex ones where the outcome isnt clear. Des sacrificed himse;f to get the six off the island. Or it could be Naomi. but its speculation.
-
Do we know - are they all done? I still can't believe that last one - blew my mind. But it makes Christian's appearance in Jacob's rocking chair a little less surprising, if that makes sense.
-
Wasn't Jack the only person to go to the funeral? I thought they made a point of showing the funeral dude telling Jack he was the only one that showed up. I think others have also correctly suggested that it wouldn't make sense for there to be no media there if Hurley and Jack are a part of a very famous group of survivors. Even if Michael was infamous rather than famous, somebody reporter would be there, if for no other reason that to see if any of the six show up.
-
Yes. Jack was the only one at the funeral. <P> No media was there...because Michael did not return home as a "celebrity". He is neither famous NOR infamous. He was given a new name, a new social security #, a new job, and a new apartment in LA. Michael Dawson DIED in the Flight 815 crash. As John Latham, he was forced to meld seemlessly back into society...and keep his mouth shut about what really happened on the island. Or his son Walt would be harmed...who is still being held back on the island. <P> That's why not even Walt was at his "viewing"...he never made it home with his father. <P> But...When he saw the Oceanic 6 arrive with much fanfare and publicity...he wondered if Jack knew anything about Walt's condition...so he tried to contact Jack...He told Jack about his new identity...and where he was staying in LA...and wanted to talk...to find out why Jack was lying to reporters about what really happened. But before he and Jack could meet...John Latham was murdered and strung up with a noose in his apartment to make it look like a suicide. <P> Michael was killed for breaking the terms of his release from Craphole Island. Jack was neither "friend" or "family" to the murderous traitor of the island. But he felt he needed to pay his respects. <P> It was at that point...Jack became "Sick...of lying!".
-
Mobisodes are done now that the new episodes have returned...they were just a stop-gap to keep us fans interested until the season premiere...Now the new find815 ARG is here to keep us busy online while these new episodes unfold.
-
great episode; instantly hooked me; can't wait for the next!
-
Why would Kate have been so incredulous that Jack would suggest she might attend Sun's funeral? It was obviously someone Kate detested...and I can't see that person being Sun. <P> Now Michael or Locke...that I could see. I just don't think Locke would have ever left that island.
-
I think Hurley's vision of Charlie was a combination of him being crazy and the island working its magic. If there were island forces that brought these people to the island, then obviously the Island has some kind of power outside of the island, in the real world. This was how Hurley and the other crazy guy could see Charlie. Maybe it was these "island forces" that just happened to crash a car to prevent Jack from jumping off the bridge. Or the island forces may be responsible for killing whoever is in the coffin? I think as we see more and more flash forwards we will see more and more proof that the island has a certain level of power or influence on these people even though they have left the island.
-
that ties in to the season three finale. Where Jack grows his beard, that was after he got off the island for the Second time. After watching the deleted scenes on Season 3 especially the one spars where jack spars with his ex-wife. I have just thought of something. I could be way off the mark here but could Sarah's new partner be somehow connected to Dharma. In the scene where he meets his ex-wife and before he goes back to the car the girl says dont trust her jack. Maybe sarah is the one in the coffin and it could be that she is now working with Dharma. She kills sawyer and is then killed by somebody , jack perhaps? that is why jack is consumed by grief and kate hates her and wont go the funeral.
-
I realize we hadn't seen a whole lot to fill in the gaps in the future...but still having a hard time believeing that <P> A. No one whould show up at sarah's funeral...in a depressed black LA neighborhood. And... <P> B. Why Kate would hate Sarah so much, as to not want to attend. <P> Plus...the obit clearly states it was a "man". <P> And...Jack gets off the island for the "second" time? Please...do explain that chesnut.
-
with what a lot people suspect and that is the body in the coffin is Micheal. Ben does warn that alot of people are going to die. Maybe Micheal betrays a lot of people and some get killed along the way because of his betrayl. including sawyer. Jack and kate had to watch a lot of thier people die to get off the island.
-
Sorry guys. Very busy.<P> MP - sorry to hear about your woes. Hope everything works out.<P> Interesting thought about DHARMA being the freighters, but I don't understand why they wouldn't know where the island is. It was "their" iland...along with the hostiles, right?<P> GB23 - Would love to know the name of the tune I based my theme off of. Tried to find out, but couldn't. And I'm not sure about the sell their souls comment. Michael did, but what of the O6? Kate sold hers? How? Jack? Hurley? Maybe it's me, but I'm not seeing it.<P. Be back when I can.
-
I definetly think you are right...that the Oceanic 6 had to make a heartwrenching choice in order to win their freedom back to society. But I don't think they need any MORE secrets that simply... <P> The First Rule of Getting Off Craphole Island is: YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT CRAPHOLE ISLAND. And the second rule is: <P> YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT CRAPHOLE ISLAND. <P> Period. <P> I don't think the Oceanic 6 will be forced into killing any of their fellow Losties to win their freedom...I think a few may die in helping them get to that point...But I have a feeling a horrible choice (Sophie's Choice type thing) will need to be made to get off the island that will leave many of their friends still held captive. <P> I think "the secret" is simply 'the island' itself. Whomever is behind it...doesn't want the outside world to know ANYTHING about it. And that's why the Oceanic 6 are being forced to tell lies about what happened.
-
There comes a point where it's also Too Ridiculous for it to be anyone else BUT Michael...I know they love their red-herrings and switch-a-roos...but they have really written themselves into a pretty big corner here. <P> Especially if it was Hurley in that tiny little box!! <P> Beside...Michael has to answer to Ana Lucia & Libby's murders. I belive Michael is nice and cozy in hell with Ana Lucia right now...as Eko predicted in his parable.
-
I just read this on a board and it makes so much sense. I am sorry if someone posted this already. "The Smoke Monster The smoke monster made a big appearance this episode, and I'm going to tell you where to look for it. Ready? Good: It floats out the door of the mental ward. Think you missed it? No way… because the smoke monster this episode was Matthew Abbadon. That whole scene was a total creepfest. From start to finish, you knew the guy was totally OFF. Think back to the episode where Mr. Eko died - think back to his last visions of Yemi. Remember that moment? The moment where Eko realized he wasn't really looking at his brother? Abbadon had that same look. That same startling, bug-eyed, blood-chilling 'Yemi-stare'. "Are they still alive?" - he says it with the same toneless inflection as Yemi asking Eko to beg forgiveness. His look is just nuts. If you don't believe me, watch as he leaves through the door. You never see him exit, you only see a shadow. A shadow that dissipates from left to right, disappearing through the doorway in much the same way the smoke monster moves."
-
That would mean one thing. that Hurley is still on the Island or there is another theory. Charlie says I am not dead I am just here. Could Charlie have been the smoke monster. Dharma are using Smokey as a warning. to the losties. Speak out. or be killed. MIcheal blabbed. Smokey turns up and micheal is dead. Hurley sees or thinks he sees Charlie. But its smokey. Dharma have reprogrammed the smoke monster to appear in the outside world but they programmed into smokey the Identities of the Oceanic 6 and not the rest of the world who dont know anything about the Island, Oceanic 6, dharma.
-
man your explanation confused me lol Who knows how the smoke monster got off the island but it makes sense
-
people assume its Micheal or Walt. but nobody knows. really. as for smokey. as nobody knows anything about Dharma. It would be very easy for them to use smoke monster in a way to manipulate the oceanic six. to shut them up. One of the reason that I loved Final destination was the way in which death picked off its victims in a way that looked accidental.

its the new how did Locke get in the wheel chair..<p> maybe its just a plot device to tie together a few of the oceanic 6, im sure some of the others will be seen hearing about the death and maybe freaking out or reacting differently than Jack...I think maybe it is a plot device just to centralise Jacks story and then everyone elses story, when we find out we will of course do our HOLY FUCK face but I dont think it is as important as the bigger issues..

I have a feeling that Smokie is something completely different than what anyone has imagined. There are so many wild theories about what it could be. I have a feeling when it is finally revealed it will be something no one ever thought of. I think somehow it was in the Hurley flash forward either as Charlie or the Oceanic guy. I think it has abilities that we will never understand until when or if it is revealed in the show. ****Light Spoiler*** In this week's episode Locke directly asks Ben what Smokie is. Will we get an honest answer? Or will we get a blow off like when Kate asked Juliet? I doubt we will get any real answers about it yet, but maybe a little nugget of information. Like "it works for Jacob" or "we dont know what it is, those Dharma folks created it". Who knows. Hopefully we will at least see it again this episode.

You know what's great about the direction Lost is going in? Between the finale and the opener, they have made the characters so damn interesting and really pushed their stories along, that I have forgotten about the other questions from the island. My main concern is what the hell happened to Jack (and now Hurley, and probaly the rest of the O6) to make them so desperate to get back? What are they lying about? What could have happened that is so bad or devastating to them? I forgot there was a four toed statue, skeletons in the cave, or to an extent the smoke monster. In the opener, when Hurley and the gang are walking throught the woods I'm not worrying about the smoke monster getting them. I'm worried about the fact that Hurley has to tell Claire about Charlie. I am so into the characters now, not just the mythology of the show. That is why Lost is great! (Sorry for rambling).

that aint rambling mate, thats spot on, perfect analsis...<p> we invested so much time into these characters we forget some of the major points, im worried now about Jack hooting Locke or something like taht...I no longer consider the otehrs a threat but the frieghter people have my full attention....its great the way it shifts the goal posts...

Didnt Hurley just feel the slap of the dead Charlie's hand? Anything is possible mate

I think what is important to note is Jack's attitude about returning to the island in this ep. We know, because of the season 3 finale TTLG, that between the FF in Ep 4.1 BOTE and the FF in TTLG, JAck deteriorates dramatically. He says he's thinking about a beard. If he started growing it that week, what, about 6 months would pass between FF's? Maybe more if he trims here and there. So in that span, he increases he boozing from a splash of vodka in his screwdriver to full out lush mixing in the schedule II narcs. He goes from NEVER (dude, never say never) going back to "We have to go back". Overwhelming guilt from making a decision to go while leaving others behind. A deal he took that betrayed his oath to "get every one of them home". At first he could live with it but in time (the time it took to grow one shitty beard) he actually was with in a heartbeat of suicide because of the spot he is in (Needs to go back to fix his mistake - but can't figure out HOW to get back ...ie maps and more maps, pill and booze bottles covering the apt.) My guess - the final season is some of the O-6 (probably Jack, Kate, Sayid, and Jin - with Hurley's money to finance it and Sun staying home with baby Ji Yeon -see ep #7) go back to get them ALL home...except for Locke who won't leave but will help them by using his abilities with the island. I think ep 8 (michael-centric ep) will reveal his fate back home, his alias as Mr Latham, and the reason he was found hanging from those rafters. He may find redemption, but TPTB won't appreciate it and set up his silencing. Or he does it to protect the sprouting Walt. This WILL start coming together folks...I may be way off, but I think after these 8 (or more...c'mon writers, sign the damn deal!!!) we will REALLY have sosme pieces to fit in the puzzle. Abrams, Cuse, Lindelof are smart, but we are smarter as a whole. We're gonna have some WTFs, but we're gonna find some of the answers. We have the O-6. That's a start.

I'm a school shrink (middle school). God bless you for giving it a go while not 100%. Kids are not kids like I remember being. Teaching those that want to learn is so wonderful, but just getting through a lesson with a group that would rather be texting or playing guitar hero - hope you survived the Monday with your sanity.

And I don't pretend it's the end-all, be-all answer but... What if NO ONE is dead on the show? Maybe instead of being dead, they have been 'cured'? My long held theory is that the 'island' and everything to do with it is a sort of 'group therepy'. Perhaps everything that is happening is due to everyone being hooked up to an alternate reality where they are forced to help one another cope with a difficult and life-threatening situation in order to get over certain personal problems. Think on it: Eko feels guilty about the life he has led and the things he has done... due to his new strong religious conviction he is able to stare 'Smokie' down the first time... but he is not ready to 'leave the island (read 'be cured') just yet. It is only when he is able to forgive himself for what he has done and 'be proud' of the terrible things he did to protect Yemi that he is 'killed'. He then tells Locke its coming for the rest of them. They will ALL have to face a test to 'leave'. Charlie led a selfish life as a band member and drug addict... yet he 'died' only when he selflessly gave his life for others. Michael is said to have to go through a period of 'reconsiliation' before he is forgiven. Maybe he came back to the island because, in truth, his selfish exit required that he was not ready to leave. Think on it: the show follows group therepy in that each person must lean on one another. First, after the crash, they must learn just to survive the situation and get along. This is done by forcing them to help one another find shelter and food and just the basics of life in order for their new 'society' to exist. The next year, as they have learned from one another, just like in real therepy it is time to literally 'go deeper' as a group to help one another... hence the hatch. And, if I am correct, the writers were clever enough to make sure we believe that some of the 'people' on the island are real people instead of what they might be: a part of the programmed reality they must endure. Hence Boone was not a real person but a construct of the virtual reality- and as such he believes he is who he is and we even get to see the back story he has been programmed to have. But Locke is responsible for his death... this is part of what Locke must answer for in order to 'leave'. Locke has looked into 'Smokie' and what he saw was redemption- that is why its beautiful to him. I believe that this is not hell, or purgatory, or even a real place. I think Jack must answer to himself for having daddy issues... whether its true or not that he had daddy fired, in real life he may just be a very troubled man who feels the need to fix things (like his relation ship with dad) but is frustrated because he can't. Perhaps Kate has issues with the choices her mom has made in life regarding her relationships and it has made her and mommy estranged. -- If you think on it, there are many reasons that the people on the island would need help as they ALL have very messed up lives. What better way to help them overcome than to put them in an impossible sitation where they must endure against horrible odds? Just a thought. Perhaps its a mad thought, but I think its just as viable as anything else Ive heard. Maybe I just have too much time on my hands...
-
yes...he certainly smacked Hurley...But so did "Dave" last season...waking him up in the nut house...and the Poloroid proved Dave was NOT really there. I think you have to take that for what it's worth. Charlie is dead.

Youguysgotanymilk, MP, and I are molding the minds of youth for a living! Or dealing with moldy minds. <p> Good stuff, one and all. Conversation was so light on here this weekend that I was afraid everyone had abandoned posting! <p> EW.com has a nice look back of all the season 1 episodes. Check it out here at http://tinyurl.com/34kcs8

I would love to see a future where all of the characters are still alive. Even Nikki and Paulo. And, Yes, you have too much time of your hands!
-
I know, I know... the Goblin leads a sad life. Also my friends tell me that I need professional help cause the Lostie I identify with most is Locke. That's not so bad, is it???
-
Hasn't Locke gone a bit mad? Did you see the promo ABC ran Wednesday night - they played "Crazy" by Patsy Cline while showing pictures of Locke?! <p> I've been to a couple of "which Lost character are you?" websites that ran these tests of personality. I ended up with Charlie. I guess it beats getting Hurley - and one guy said he ended up with Rose!

Unfortunately I will not be able to watch Lost this Thursday. I will be on a plane to Florida to attend a friend of mine's wedding. I wont get home until late Sunday so that means no Lost until Monday night. It really sucks but I'll get to enjoy a nice long weekend of 80 plus degree weather. Plus they're getting married on a beach. It wont be to bad, but I will thinking about those damn Freighters all weekend long.
-
Drink a gin and tonic for me on the beach.<P> ;->
-
I definately will. It's open bar so you know what that means. In a tribute to Jack I plan on waking each morning with a screwdriver and I'm going to try to bribe the stewardess to slip me an extra bottle or booze on the ride down.
-
While I salute your tribute to Jack, let's just make sure your 'ride down' is not quite as eventful!
