I am – Hercules!!
The subjects of the 2008 Paley Fest events (held this year at the Arclight in Hollywood) have been known for a bit, but I just received word of the actual dates of some of those events. March 14: Elvis 1968 Comeback Special March 15: Pushing Daisies March 17: The Comedy World of Judd Apatow March 18: Chuck March 20: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Reunion March 21: Dancing with the Stars March 25: Dirty Sexy Money March 27: Mad Men This isn’t a complete list (“Gossip Girl” is another show that will be honored), but all events will fall between “Elvis” and “Mad Men.” The complete schedule will be announced Feb. 4. We'll likely learn at that time which creators should be on stage each night. (It'll be interesting to see if big-deal movie star Sarah Michelle Gellar will turn up for the "Buffy" reunion!) $750 premium ticket packages go on sale to both members and non-members Feb. 4. Individual tickets become available Feb. 7 to museum members at $50 and $35 per seat. If any tickets are left, they go on sale to non-members Feb. 10. More info is or will be available at paleycenter.org.

Wow. That would be so cool to see all the scoobies on the same stage. SMG better show up, and acknowledge the show that launched her career...

Career? What career? Last I remeber starring in a few slasher/horor flicks does not a career make. SMG can rot, her character was the worst aspect of the show anyway.

Buffy the worst character on the show?

    by Zardoz

Sesskie, what are you smoking? (and can I have a hit? ;-) Granted, she's not all that great an actress and her career has seemingly stalled post-Buffy, but to say that SMG, as Buffy, the protagonist of the show, was the worst aspect of the show, is ridiculous. I mean, if you didn't like her on the show, then you obviously didn't like the show at all...(is THAT what you're saying?)

SMG was indeed the worst, and most annoying actor on the show, granted it was still a cool show.

I would only go to the Buffy one if...

    by photoboy

... SMG isn't there. It was Whedon's writing that made her career, not her funny shaped nose. I bet Freddie Prinze Jr is regretting teaming up with her now!

I'd be interested in the Daisies and Chuck events, especially if Yvonne Strahovski is going to be at the Chuck one...

    by classyfredblassy

I doubt she will show up for this. Any one notice she didn't even show for the party thrown at the end of the final season? There is a video of it on the "Chosen Collection". She is not to be found. How many times has she been on the cover of TV Guide since Buffy? Hmmm? HMMMMM?

    by classyfredblassy

It is easy to hate on SMG because she doesn't respect Buffy, but she was great on the show. Come'on, "The body" , "Forever", "The Gift", "Passion", if she couldn't act those episodes would have fall flat on their faces.

    Gellar...

    by Midnightxpress

...When has she ever disrepected Buffy? Thou I totally agree her career has been a major disappointment since leaving the show...I used to argue she was amoung the best actresses of her generation, but she's so busy trying to get typecast in those awful J-Horror remakes or knock offs, to do anything of real note...

    by classyfredblassy

Never once heard her mention the show, never did anything "fan related" , never did anything regarding the show outside of showing up and getting her check. When you are the star in on of the top 5 cult tv shows of all time, throw the fans a bone once in awhile.

    Big deal movie star?!

    by epitone

If anything, SMG is a lot less famous now than she was pre-Cruel Intentions (which remains her only notable starring role). Either she signed her life away to Vertigo Entertainment, or she's actually desperate enough for work to keep on appearing in shitty J-horror remakes. Meanwhile, Buffy was the best showcase of her talents and she dissed it to kingdom come.

SMG never did a BtVS event while the show was ON.

    by AnnoyYou

Why in the world would she do one now, particularly as she's busy trying to establish a film career beyond horror films? She always acted as if Buffy was beneath her (this coming from the former soap opera actress!) - she never talked about it on late night shows, she never showed up to any of the cons or other Paley events. Also, she was very dismissive of the show when she finally left it -- hell, she announced her departure well before anyone else in the cast knew the show was ending. And who can forget Freddy Prinze telling everyone that "she was treated badly and no one appreciated her?" I think the only way she'll show up is if they pay her the big bucks (and that's not likely). However, you can bet Hannigan, Brendon, Marsters, Benson and possibly Trachtenberg and Dushku will be there. I doubt very seriously that people like Head or Blucas will bother, though.

SMG sent donuts for everyone. I know big deal, it's not much but I think it shows she still has a minicule amount of respect for the role and the fans. However, I agree dissing the cast party at the end was school on sunday (no class). And I think Borantez was kinda peeved that he showed up for her cookie dough speech and she never did in kind with "The girl in Question". It's all Season six's fault, I imagine. SMG didn't like they way Buffy 's character was going and god knows, Joss doesn't like a lot of contradicting imput. P

    by Eternal Watcher

...it was Comic-Con when she was plugging "The Grudge". It would be great it she was at other cons, of course. I'm guessing, though, that other Whedon fans will be packing "Mad Men", too...along with others who see that Jon Hamm's a handsome actor!

    SMG

    by My Pretty Pony

Anyone who says SMG can't act and that she no longer respects or even talks about "Buffy" obviously doesn't know what they're talking about. First of all, she did an amazing job as Buffy. Just take a look at any one of the emotional scenes or any of the comedic stuff. She hit it out of the park every time. Second, I have read numerous interviews since "Buffy" ended in which she has spoken very highly of the show. I mean, come on! There's no validity to the crap you're spewing.

That's it, make me miss Buffy more

    by Drath

Dangit, there truly is nothing on right now that is anywhere near as good as that show was. Even the less good parts of season 6-7 are better than a lot of the SF offerings on today. Heroes just had a terrible second season and it won'tl be until NEXT fucking fall before they can redeem themselves. BSG will get like 20 episodes spread out over a year and then it's gone too. Crap, Atlantis and Flash Gordon are like being raped by a cactus. We live off of imports like Dr. Who. I even miss Star Trek Enterprise now. I feel like that and Firefly must have have their full 7 seasons in some alternate happy dimension where Osama Bin Ladin is dead, 9/11 never happened, and Barbara Bush's only son was Jeb.

...as most of us probably would be. Pro: The brief send-up on Robot Chicken. Con: No DVD commentaries that I know of. That is a pretty big con considering that most of the main actors did quite a few.

Buffy could have been played better by others.

    by azmodien

Buffy was a great show, but mostly because of its originality and writing.

SMG was insanely hot in the early seasons, but that's about it. Acting wise, she was only marginal. She has stage presence and charisma only until she opens here mouth. The character could have been better realized by an actress with some chops like Christina Ricci.

    Give the girl a break...

    by Wittyninja

Okay, I can understand fan frustration with her unwillingness to go to conventions, participate in DVD commentary (I would have REALLY liked to see that), etc etc, but as somebody who watched the show since age 11 and lived and breathed for it in my adolescense, I can't dislike SMG. When all is said and done she dedicated 7 years of her life to that show. She was in every episode. She was on talk shows regularly. She hosted saturday night live twice. She was nominated for no less than 20 awards for her work on the show. Without her, it would not have been what it was and Joss Whedon has said as much in interviews. Her contract ended after seven years and she decided she wanted to move on which was a GOOD IDEA! It was time. And about her not being able to act...guys. Come on. That's total bull shit. She was nominated for SEVEN Saturn awards, a golden globe, a satellite award...they don't give these to just anybody and they were DEFINITELY not handing them out to the WB. AZMODIEN - saying buffy could have been played better by others is ridiculous. You don't know that. It could have been a complete disastor. Finally, as to her movie career, Harry may have been speaking of some of the films she has coming up, most notably "The Air I Breathe" which is getting fantastic reviews and has a wonderful cast. We shall see.
