Harry adopted one of the Sisters Kane at Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors in Austin!

Published at:  Jan 26, 2008 7:39:58 PM CST

Hey folks, Harry here... Adoption is a serious consideration... and usually not the sort of thing that happens at a Fangoria Weekend of Horrors, but then I've never been particularly usual... and neither was the adoption I made.

On Friday, as I first made my way through the Dealers and Autograph hall - a child caught my eye, and her big sister - Christy Kane told me about her book and how she was working with the Chiodo Brothers on a film.

Over the course of the weekend, I found myself growing more and more fond of Tallullah Kane. Some, cynical people, would look at Tallullah and see her as a doll, but to me... Tallullah was introduced to me as a girl that dreamt of being a flower, so she planted herself in the Garden. I had to take this enchanting child/doll/flower home. I couldn't fathom allowing her to possibly wilt or not feel love everyday. So - I signed the adoption papers and paid the processing fee - and took her home for me and my wife. Here she is taking a photo with her more animated sister Kane, Christy Kane and myself.

Now - I know you're wondering... Why is Harry talking about a doll he "adopted" at FANGORIA'S WEEKEND OF HORRORS. It's really quite simple. Christy Kane isn't just someone that is making some fame for her sisters, but is a creative force with extraordinary wit and charm. Her book, TALES OF THE SISTERS KANE, put out by Baby Tattoo Books

In this book you can read the legends, tales and poetic origins and lives of the Sisters Kane. And it is this book, that is being transformed by Christy Kane and the Chiodo Brothers into a series of shorts that are coming to DVD. You can find out more at ChristyKane.Com and you can see a trailer for one of these shorts right below.

I can't recommend picking up this book enough, it's such a great legend about these sisters. Tallullah Kane isn't in there, as her story has yet to be shared with the outside world, but I can tell you a bit about her here at Castle Knowles. She has become close close friends with the demon from Curse of the Demon. Massaging his temples and soothing the soul of a hellbent Demon. Such a rare flower indeed.

Actually - I'm in a wheelchair due to complications that arose from an injury suffered 12 years ago due to a lower back impact that left me paralyzed for 6 months. 3 years ago I broke my leg and re-injured the back. Thankfully there was no reoccurrence of paralysis, but the nerves are pinched. However - the process I'm going under later this year should alleviate some of the back issues - allowing me to walk again. Thanks for your kind comments and basic decent levels of humanity through the chaos that is Talkback. It means alot.

You're the man. I mean, making fun of people in wheelchairs who you don't know. Awesome. I bet that you are the king of your junior high. I can't wait to see what kind of hilarious posts we can expect from you in the future. I mean, you just cornered the wheelchair market and the fat market all in one post. You sir, are a comedic superstar. The way that you take an issue that's obviously not funny and try to turn it around and make fun of it. Gold! If only you could direct some of your anger towards your own life and maybe ask yourself why you have to put down strangers to feel better about yourself than maybe, just maybe, you wouldn't be the kid who everyone picks on. But I'm sure that it's just easier to think of really bad, easy, tasteless jokes at some one else's expense. It's not Harry's fault that this is what you do with your weekend.

Sure, Harry is a big guy. Sure, he has red hair and a huge red beard. Those are EASY things to make fun of. But come on, guys. Buffy brings up a great point: Harry posted a picture of himself with a DOLL! Now I'm sure we all have some physical traits we're not proud of and it sounds like Harold is working on what he wants to change, so I say, kudos to him. But, for the love of Pete, he put up a picture of himself WITH A DOLL! He's a grown man! Who bought a doll! Not an "action figure," but a DAMNED DOLL!!

    NOW... let us make fun.

    by buffywrestling

Besides the fact that Harry probably just posted the pic because he wanted people to have a little fun after those atrocious Heath Ledger talkbacks, we've already covered pound puppies, cabbage patch kids and goth conventions. Not much else to talk about, really.

Now I mean, if he posted a picture of actually *playing* with the doll....Hold on, I didn't see that last picture.

    Oh jesus.

Sounds very much like IMezco's Living Dead Doll line. Creepy, gothic dolls with little bits of poetry informing us of their demise. After looking at her site however seems most of these dolls arnt dead and they far exceed the average 20 dollar price tag of a Living Dead Doll. $850 bucks for a rag doll diorama thing of a tornado in doll land, think Ill pass.
