Salma joins the FREAK show!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I've been going a little crazy recently balancing all my Sundance preparations with regular AICN work, moving my e-life from my old computer to my new one (a nice shiny MacBookPro), some personal work and a nasty cedar-inspired allergy turned honest to god sinus infection. Been fun. But I won't use those excuses to keep me away anymore. There're some damn stories to run!
First of the night from me is a bit about Paul Weitz (ABOUT A BOY, AMERICAN PIE, IN GOOD COMPANY)'s upcoming adaptation of the popular kids series CIRQUE DU FREAK. I've heard some good things about this series, but I have not yet given it a read. I'll probably save it so I can enjoy it for the first time on the big screen.
Anyway, John C. Reilly is already set to star as a vampire who recruits a 14 year old as his assistant.
Now Salma Hayek has signed on to play, of all things, a bearded lady named Madame Truska. I think this might cause some confusion in the pants of many a geek. She's still got to be hot... maybe she'll rock the facial hair and it'll make her even hotter? Thoughts?

First off, Salma is smoking hot.
Han, take a good look at Desperado. She and Antonio Banderas let it all hang out.
That being said, facial hair is a big no-no for me ... I was too distracted by the unibrow in Frida to even notice when she was wearing that back brace and little else.
I think seeing her in a beard may turn me off forever. -
Quint, once again you prove to me how intelligent you are by switching over to a Mac. Congratulations on making one of the best purchases you'll ever make in your life.

Well Mr. Skin says that Selma has been naked in 6! count them Six movies! Although i am a bit wary because one of those movies listed is the crapfest PG flick known as Wild Wild West. But i do love me some Selma, for her beauty AND her acting talent, Frida is still tops in my book. She can even make facial hair sexy!

As for Salma, she is hot but there are other mexican actresses way hotter than her, Barbara Mori is ultra delicious, Kate del Castillo is ok and Ana de la Reguera is someone to watch in the next couple of years.
But porbably Salma is the smartest of them all. -

The thing about this series that is good is that there are some seriously horrific events which occur. I mean vicious attacks involving loss of limbs and blood spraying all over.
The Cirque Du Freak performances if filmed accurately would "mentally scar" most children. I don't mean like The Witches either. I read these books and sometimes could not believe that parents handed them to their children.
Minor Spoiler regarding Salma's character:
In the novels Madam Truska is a beautiful woman who can grow and retract a beard at will. So she'll still get to be sexy and sultry a lot of the time

Not a single trash talk'n coke sniffing pole dancer or porn star, and not a single chick any of you have ever been with. She is "THE ONE". And by "The One" I don't mean an ass kicking, multi dimensional traveling, asian dude. Or a computer geek turned liberator of the human race against the machines. No, she is the hottest peice of ass that has ever and will ever walk the Earth.
