ONG BAK director has a new flick called CHOCOLATE! Twitch has the arse-kicking trailer!!!

Published at:  Jan 06, 2008 8:54:25 AM CST

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Now what sells me with this below trailer is how they include... in the damn trailer... the near death "stunts gone wrong" moments usually reserved for the very end of the picture, while the credits roll and your paying audience winces and gasps.

Fuck that, said ONG BAK and THE PROTECTOR director Prachya Pinkaew. That shit is going righ into the damn trailer! Looks like a nice follow-up. I hope I like Pinkaew's new flick as much as I did his previous two and that Tony Jaa's absence won't be missed.

Thanks to the good folks at TWITCH for getting this up for us! Enjoy!

    by theycallmemrglass

Thats got to be a first? Sure enough, outakes are usually shown at the end of many martial arts films but his is an interesting spin on the marketing. One train of thought in this is perhaps to show the audience what the actors had to go through to make this so go see it and not make them waste their frakn time. Another train of thought is to market this towards the sickos who want to see real accidents happen or to fans of Jackass the movie.

that was a piece of crap except for the stunts (especially the long take going up the stairs!). it felt like it was edited together at random. i felt like things were either missing or they forgot to shoot certain key moments that would hold the paper-thin plot together. hopefully, this is an improvement.

Thank you so much for bitching about Harry's Superman Returns review in this TB. Your analysis is insightful and touching. Your have inspired me to respond. You comment "By the way, I never understood how a little shard of Kryptonite could almost kill Superman, but, two scenes later, the guy could carry a whole island of it into outspace." Just relate it to your own life. You were able to cary that HUGE bag of 12 inch Mister Fister Dildos all the way home from the store, but just getting 2 of them in your ass REALLY hurt youIn a sexy, exciting kind of way of course). But you were able to persevere and keep doing it all night long! So see, you're just like Supes. Two amazing men who can overcome impossible challenges while wearing tights. Hope this helps!

    by uncapie

...when "E.T." was scripted, it was originally M&m's that Elliot left for little, lost E.T. to follow him. The head honcho at product placement scoffed at the idea; "M&M's in a science-fiction picture? I think not!" So, they went to Reese's, gots zee Pieces and the rest is history. The M&M executive performs his tasks now as a night manager at a bowling alley.

    by f-1000

FUCKING cool news. A martial arts movie with GREAT choreography AND action you can actually follow, shot from interesting angles and without shaky cam?

And what could be an innovative interesting plotline to boot?

Fucking sign me up, I've been waiting for a movie like this for like six years. Ong Bak had cool moves but it wasn't fluid. It was just stunt shot after stunt shot. Jaa stands on his mark, does his move. Cut. Next scene. Bad guy stands on his mark, Jaa stands on his, proceed with cool move, cut. The fight choroegraphy sucked. And the plot really sucked. Jaa is pwn though.

    by monkeymanreturns

I hear and feel your pain. I told Bryan Singer, on a warm night in LA, that Superman Returns was the biggest waste of opportunity ever. And how could he, the man that gave us Usual Suspects, and X-Men, screw up what could have been a wonderful film. He proceeded to take three dildos, as mentioned by Kingdaddy, and shove them in my mouth, before bending me over and telling me: "I'm going to fuck you like I fucked up Superman."

Jeesh, I'm still not walking right.

Oh and Chocolate - it's not going to end world poverty with its take on the human condition, but it sure is going to kick arse!! Ouch...can't say 'arse' without thinking of Singer...ooh

I hate also in Ong Bak how we'd have to see a stunt maybe two or three times over again. Oh look he jumped through a ring of barbwire. Lets watch it from different angles, lets not. Took me out of the movie. The Protector on the other hand is a classic. Best martial arts, stunts ever in a movie! I can't say enough about it! Starts off a little slow and deceiving, the whole jungle elephant setting and may throw some people off, but stick with it. It pays off big time. What other movie has a man pick up a baby elephant and throw it?

Ahh I heard about this movie a few months ago

    by arthur_daily

The Lead character is Nicharee “Jeeja” Vismistananda
(try saying that 3 times in a row)
Vismistananda has been training under the personal guidance of Jaa’s mentor and fight choreographer Panna Rittikrai for years in preparation for this role Heres a link to the OneSheet
    h**p://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b294/FattyAcidTrip/1FattyAcidTripjpg

she plays an autistic girl who goes on a mission to collect debts to save her ill mother, a course of action that puts her on a collision course with gangs of both the local Thai mafia and japanese yakuza

Oh yeah, the movie is also going to be done like Ong-Bak with no strings or effects for the fights.

After a meeting with some of the stunt team, i nearly shit my pants when i heard about this project.
Now its finally got a release date of July 7th 2008.

I love that the trailer is entirely in Thai with no subtitles, including the transition graphics, so as I'm trying to figure out what's going on, suddenly the trailer switches over to ass-kicking mode and this chick goes apeshit on some dudes' asses for two minutes straight. OngBak was great. I can understand people trashing Tom Yum Goong but Ongbak had more than just amazing fight scenes. The plot was simple but definitely entertaining and Hum Lae and his sister were just hilarious so that made it funny and the movie just had this genuine quality that reminded alot of Rumble in the Bronx. Plus it had Tony Jaa. I just don't understand why people knock that film.

...the reasoning behind putting the "stunts gone wrong" scenes in the trailer.

Ooh. Melodrama. Implausible fight scenes. Plinky-plink music. Even if I haven't seen this one before, I've seen it before. And it sucked.

    I will see it

Anything this team puts out I will gladly see, even the junky cheese like Dynamite Warrior. Thai action movies + Muay Thai = joy.

Do all Asian moves have to have martial arts to be intriguing? Hmmmm. I still love the trailer.

    What does it meeeeeeeen??

    by cat_corporation

The only Thai I know is from my local Thai takeaway - mmm, tasty spice. No idea what's going on but looks super cool, I'll try and catch it in some London flea pit like I did with Ong Bak. Always good to see a fellow femme slapping down some blokes. Also, can anyone enlighten me - is it Muay Thai she's doing, or something else? I couldn't see any of the distinctive knees 'n' elbows, but what do I know?
