should i be watching this show?
-
Where's Dean?
-
Best show on TV. 'Nuff said.
-
If Herc bothered reading Publick's blog, he'd know that this is just a picture showing characters from the season in unusual garb. No one is wearing their standard wardrobe, save Hank, but he's also got a giant laser strapped to his chest. Dean isn't included because he didn't have any special wardrobes that they've animated thus far.
Go Team Venture! -
WHAT'S THE SECRET OF HIS FORBIDDEN ROOM? i can't wait to find out.
-
Oh, and the Venture Brothers pummel.
-
On the right, that's got to be Crime-o-dile! I've wanted to see him in an episode since he was mentioned in the henchmen encounter group in 202 (or 201).
-
Didn't happen.
-
and of course he's not going to be there because there are no "PROS-TI-TUTES" around!
-
Either way, awesome fucking show, greatest thing on TV, and I can't wait for season 3....
Better yet, this season's being produced in HD. FUCK YEAH! -
One of the funniest most kick-ass shows ever to be made by mortals. It will fill the emptiness in your heart and soul.
-
Spotting them was part of a two question X-mas contest there on Publick's blog. The other question was, which of the characters, if any, does this room belong to? Damned if I know either answer. As for Dean - could that be a mutant version of him all the way on the right?
-
This show is simply the most awesome prog on TV right now.. possibly rivaled by Robot Chicken.. but its a close call. GAWD I can't wait for the new eps.
-
Anyone happen to read Jackson Publick's site where it states at Stephen Colbert will not be returning this year as Professor Impossible? That is just not cool on so many levels. Regardless though, this is the best non Anime show on Adult wim and pretty much the only reason to watch the comedy block (besides Robot Chicken) now that Futurama is on Comedy Central. Can't wait to see it back.
-
Will their duels become legend?
-
Yeah, were the hell is Dean? Oh, that's looks like Sammy Davis jr on the right! Wonder if he's going to be on Dick Cavett's show?
-
but you have a girlfriend...does the screen just sort of show up blank? is it girlfriend-proof?or what if your girlfriend is a D&D chick with BO? do you just get the audio?
-
Seriously? Seriously? Seriously?
-
Men! Brock!
-
Those are just the new designs that Publick thought were groovy looking. Dean doesnt have any new designs of any note, Hank only made it cuz of the huge frickin lazer.
-
I think that is him standing beside the Venture version of Modok to the far right.
-
The three real-life people are Dick Cavett, Sammy Davis Jr., and Aleister Crowley. The room belongs to the pink hippopotamus-looking motherfucker on the left.
-
Sorry I meant the guy with the giant pink head to the far right... not Modok
-
everything from John Woo homages to eyeballs kept as a reminder of lost love. Venture Bros. Rocks Nuts.
-
I mean come on man, follow through with the story.
-
JUNE 2008. Production on season 4 (thank god) has already begun, so season 4 should start not much longer after season 3.
Also, if you look carefully, you will find Dean; he's right behind Hank. More specifically he looks to be "FutureDean." One can assume that the big gun Hank is strapped to is possibly a "FutureRay." :) I am amazed Herc actually reported on the Venture Bros. He actually is starting to report on genre shows people actually watch, and not just covering the latest release of the newest Buffy (COMIC) in the what is supposed to be the TV section.
This sort of makes up for his total and utter lack of any real Dexter coverage. -
I like the show but I don't find much repeat value in it. I say Birdman is the best show to come out of the AS universe. Pretty sure thats not the consensus here though.
-
I think I was close to recognizing Dick Cavett. Damned if I know how you got Aleister Crowley, or who the pink hippo motherfucker is! (Garbage Man... Garbage Can Man? If so, burn something down on me.)
-
Neither The Monarch or Dr. Girlfriend are in the image.
-
One on the right, in the light blue in front of the black chick, and one of the left, in the purple/pink in front of the gay sailor.
-
Thanks for reporting on what is THE best Adult Swim show. Who's the new chick in the silver space suit with the pink hair? Can't wait to find out!
Yes...I jerk to Triana...but...I also jerk it to Erin from the E-surance commercials, so take that for what it's worth!
Colbert really let me down by not returning...perhaps they should pay him in pesos ("You know...all these zeros are meaningless")...but Professor Impossible looked to be in pretty bad shape at the end of "Twenty Years to Midnight"...Maybe he died? I think the season should open with the Venture's at his funeral talking about what an ASS he was. And Impossible has to be buried in a casket 140 feet long...but only 2 feet wide...as his body didn't contract after expiring.
And, yes, gimik...you should be watching this show. Go over to the YouTube and punch in Venture Bros and watch a few episodes. And Series 7, I think they're actually better upon the second viewing. I miss so many things laughing at shit the first time through.
Others missing from the cast photo...H.E.L.P.E.R, Baron Underbiet...and Dr. Henry Killinger. I miss Phantom Limb, Dr. Girlfriend & The Monarch, too! Bring on the Ghost Pirates...and GO TEAM VENTURE! -
You mean mofo can't take an hour to record a few lines? Christ.
-
Venture Brothers is pretty much the only thing on Adult Swim that is at all entertaining any more. Whoever approved giving Tim and Eric jobs should be forced to watch their crap...
-
does she wait till he finishes or does she finish him off for him?? haha
-
the picture is just new character variations and season 3 has the regular old Dean. It's in the comments on the page the picture comes from.
-
The blog mentions that Colbert wouldn't return their calls when asked to reprise Professor Impossible for Season 3. They finally got an email saying he didn't have "the time or interest" in guest starring. DICK!
-
Not two Trianas -- Triana's friend in her supervillian outfit. Triana is in the blue Venture stewardess/nurse thing-- her friend is in a purplish supervillian outfit
-
I would love a full movie on this stuff. Live action would be great also. I think real Brock voice looks right for it anyway and they can CGI his str.
-
Probably the most disappointing absence is Triana's friend and potential Dr. Wife's henchgirl. Don't they realize she was the character we most wanted back?
I disagree about replay value on this show. I just recently rewatched the 2nd season and it was just as hilarious. We need more episodes, more often. -
and who's that greasy looking fella right behind Hank and the lazer cock? And that out-doorsy type person behind quiz master Billy front right is very, very frightening.
-
Season One, Disc Two, Pilot Episode Commentary. Tycho Brahe. Had a metal nose. That's my guess for the third non-fictional person. Guy over by Crime-O-Dime.
-
Colbert doesn't strike me as the type to pull a dick move like that. Either his assistant took what he said the wrong way (as in Colbert meant it "in character" and the assistant didn't realize it) or Publick took it the wrong way. OR Publick and Colbert don't want SAG to find out that he's doing voice work. Some shows, particularly Aqua Teen, will use pseudonyms for their guest stars. OR maybe Colbert really is a dick. But I doubt it.
-
I like Triana, but she's a little too Hot Topic teen for me to go apeshit over. Now Dr. Girlfriend, on the other hand... What? She's hot! Screw you guys...
-
I saw two Trianas, thinking it was indicative of a plot point, not realizing that there are actual multiple copies of a few characters, ostensibly to show off various outfits/designs. *smacks head*
