These next episodes have some cool stuff lined up, I will be watching. It's probably the last cool episodic TV we will get to see for awhile. Even if they bring back Lost for 8 episodes only, which will piss me off, it doesn't sound like much else is on the horizon. How sad!

The strike is going to hold up production until the spring, at least, so we won't see much in the way of new shows until next season. by mockingbuddha

as my wife doesn't care for it too much. I love the acting and the relationships, and I'm very curious about the explanation for it all. There is definately an intelligence behing the time travel, but is it human? Super-human? God? Future people, modern day people, a bunch of scientists in the twenties? I hope they don't answer the questions too quickly just to end the season, I'd almost rather not know than have a forced ending like Heroes had. I still think fondly of the end of Twin Peaks. Keep Journayman alive!!!

    Dear NBC

    by iammrmonkey!

Hello. How are you doing? Oh, I'm good thanks. In light of recent events, I am starting to believe that you really don't care that there are people all over this internet thing crying out for you to say there will be a second season of JOURNEYMAN. A lot of them are busy doing things when JOURNEYMAN is airing and so they don't get to watch it. Therefore they use this TIVO thing I keep hearing about to record it or - like myself - they download it. It has a bigger audience than you think.I'm not your target audience unfortunately and don't really count I guess as I live outside the good ol' U.S of A. However, I'm always amazed when I scutter around the internet to see comments about the show from people located in countries like Japan, Australia, New Zealand etc. I've even seen someone from Israel commenting how much they love the show. Believe me, you can sell this thing to other countries. They'll really love it and will buy your DVDs (just like how I've bought your HEROES stuff despite the ridiculous cost...but that's another rant). If you don't renew this show, it will make me very sad. If I couldn't keep watching my chum Dan V jump around time, I'm not sure what I'd do. Probably return to my shoplifting career or something. And I'm very excited about seeing Livia jumping through time in her underthings. You should market this fact more. Finally, if this doesn't get a second season I'm going to spraypaint a skull upon a chest and issue geek-style punishment. I wasn't there for Firefly but, my God, I'll be there for JOURNEYMAN. If I have to cross the oceans to stamp on your heads with my football (sorry..."soccer") shoes then so be it. I will also dangle NBC executives out of windows until I track down who exactly is responsible for the fuck-up of not reviewing it. And, when I find that person - or persons - I shall draw upon my friend Stevie Seagal and exact some Urban Justice upon thee.Consider yourselves warned fucksticks.Mr Monkey!

JM is EASILY the best new show of the season

    by california_mtz

JM is the best new show this year out of all the new shows on all the networks. NBC gave it a bad timeslot, following a slipping Heroes (don't get me wrong, I like Heroes and I won't dis it, but it's ratings have slipped this year) and it still managed to get better every week and develop a rapidly rabid fanbase. NBC execs should just watch this show & fall into it as everyone else does. It would be a shame if they don't renew because i guarantee that dvd & blu-ray sales & rentals will outperform NBC's low & short-sighted expectations of this great series.

"I'm not into Journeyman like a lot of you are, so I hope these episodes deliver the goods for youse. :)"A few people here (including myself) could learn something from Pennsy. You don't like a show? That's fine because everyone's entitled to their opinion. DON'T go onto the TB for it (why are you there anyway if you don't like it?) and talk about how shit it is and how everyone is an idiot for watching it.Be like Pennsy. This is off topic but...

    by danielkurland

Tonight's How I Met Your Mother better receive an Emmy nomination for writing. It arguably may not be the show's best episode, but in terms of concept, structure, commentary, and execution, it was fantastic, and reminiscient of something Seinfeld would have done. I know a lot of people bash this show, but if you actually watch it continuously, you'd realize the extreme amount of effort put into the show in regard to continuity, and it's actually fucking funny.

FOX or NBC who is worse...

    by spastic jedi

What is tough about hating on FOX is that they are consistently the network who puts out more fiction/science fiction/action shows than any other major network.
It's just that they usually cancel them too.
NBC has become the worst network by far this year though. Serioulsy, Keith Olbermann on Sunday Night Football? That guy is such a douche. Plus the whole forced "green week" propoganda, ugh.

    by danielkurland

I honestly respect the opinions of people here, and to hear you guys praising VM, Freaks and Geeks, etc., and ALSO praising Journeyman has inspired me to give it a shot. I instantly dismissed it as some mediocre procedural, but based o nthe constant approval of it here, I'm going to watch it. I suppose that may be in vain due to how the show may actually be in jeopardy. Also, may the record show that I adore Kristen Bell as much/more than Pennsy, I just haven't been as vocal about it.

I know a few people say it only starts to get good from episode four or five onwards but it was the last five minutes of the pilot that hooked me on the show. I'm not one for sentimental stuff but I felt quite moved by that episode's conclusion because it was so well written. I really wanted those two to keep their marriage together.

Arizona's antique capital. Home of the popular Arrowhead towne center. Yes, Glendale. A place I know...not at all, actually.Unfortunately everything I know about Arizona I've learnt from television and movies. Thus, I picture it as a place of deserts, lonely freeways and roadside motels where strange things happen.Fortunately, I'll be able to see it for myself in 2010 when I take my planned trip across America. Last time I was in the U.S.A, the chicks totally loved my accent. Here's to hoping that I'll be able to utilise that one again!

The "clunker episode" for me was

    by immortal_fish

Dan in a battle royale with Dan. So contrived, derivative, and utterly bound to happen. This show was above that crap.Conversely, my favorite was the one where he delivered the baby who would later go on to fail the marrow transfusion with her father. This is the episode I recount when others ask for an example of what draws me to the show. Granted, John From Cincinnati was fairly recent, but there are few shows that value and showcase front and center the tenets of tenderness and sweetness, along with sacrifice for the greater good like this one does. Besides, my name is Dan and my son's name is Zac, so the show must remain!Above all else... McKidd IS AND MUST BE THOR!!!

This guy was the center of attention throughout the whole night.Anyway, it's been nice talking with you Xiphos but I must depart for it is late over here. What a nice TB this has been. I expected a few idiots to show up but everyone here has been interesting and polite. Kudos to everyone on this TB for their comments.

    Small Journeyman goof

    by drstrange

Just a small something I got to get off my chest. It's happened for the second time now; first they mentioned calling 911 when he was back in the early 80s, and now when he's back in 1979. Problem is, the 911 system didn't go up until around 1985-1987. I know, because in college around 1982-1983 I was in a General-Ed course for health and fitness and they taught us the emewrgency number was something starting with a "Z" that the Operator had to dial. No 911.

Maybe some of the script writers for the show are still in Junior College?

    by indyjonez100

They are really trying to make him out to be a big dick, just up and leaving your wife and kids for no good reason except I'm not good at it so oh well, guess I'll leave. But I think the reason they are doing this is because the real reason he goes missing is because he in fact, as Just Pillow Talk eluded too, is that Dan's dad is in fact a jumper also. Maybe something happened down there at NASA when they were checking out the shuttle prototype.

"We're trying to understand NBC's recent moves," Starcom Entertainment exec vp Laura Caraccioli-Davis said. "We are concerned it might be thinking about adopting a programming strategy like some of its sister cable networks. 'American Gladiators' and even some of the shows they have in development, like 'Knight Rider,' are remakes being dusted off rather than coming up with new creations.

"NBC used to be the upscale, quality network," she added. "We have come to expect quality, iconic programming. Maybe they are searching for the reality hit they don't have, their own 'American Idol.' But too much reality just doesn't play well with advertisers."

    ITS OVER ...................

    by lostbat

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The journey is coming to an end for NBC's freshman series "Journeyman."

    ANOTHER SAD DAYIN TELEVISION HISTORY:-(

NBC had until Tuesday to give a full-season pickup to the time-travel drama starring Kevin McKidd. The network let that option lapse, practically canceling the series, which posted its lowest adults 18-49 rating (1.7 rating/8 share) on Monday without a "Heroes" lead-in. The network already tried out fellow rookie "Life" in "Journeyman"'s Monday 10 p.m. slot last week.

Despite the Hollywood writers strike, "Journeyman" was able to complete its 13-episode order.

The remaining two original segments will air as scheduled, an NBC spokeswoman said.

NBC recently handed out full-season pickups to two of its four rookie scripted series, "Life" and "Chuck."

Since the production of most scripted series has been suspended because of the strike, such orders are considered a vote of confidence to the shows and a potential renewal for next season if the additional episodes can't be produced by the end of this season.

In limbo is the fate of the fourth new NBC series, the once-promising "Bionic Woman," which has been sliding in the ratings since its premiere.

Thought there was good character development, laying the groundwork for focussing on the time travelling aspects.

Thought Dexter was a bit 'filler' this week though. Am hoping that Dexter will actually turn himself in and go to prison and Season 3 could turn into a Silence of the Lambs type deal where they ask him for help with new killer/s.

    by just pillow talk

This is horrendous news. What's the point of network TV? Bionic Woman is only in limbo? Gladiators and that Choir bullshit are coming? Why must the American viewing audience be so stupid? GAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

Maybe Sci-fi chan will pick it up? Looks like the Dresden fans will have competition to getting a series back on air.

    WHAT!?!?!? THIS IS HORSESHIT!!!

    by indyjonez100

Are you kidding me!!!! We need to start writing letters, hand written letters to the NBC Studio douche bags who decided a show with great characters and great writing is not worth saving.

    by indyjonez100

Hopefully they at least answer some questions in these two episodes such as why is he traveling in time in the first place.

    Wow. Thanks a lot NBC.

    by iammrmonkey!

Thanks a friggin' bunch guys. First of all you give me a mediocre HEROES season and then you cancel my favourite new show. If it wasn't for the fact that you also air LIFE, I would write you off as completely incompetant.Fuck me this is a bad day for U.S television. It sends out the signal that quality writing doesn't really matter, that sci-fi shows don't need to be intelligent and that people on the internet really know shit about anything. I kid you not - the people of the JOURNEYMAN talkback here aren't going to be the only ones annoyed about this. Check out TV.COM or SAVEJOURNEYMAN and you can see there are others out there who wanted this thing to keep going. What's the point in watching a new television show? Absolutely none according to NBC because, hey, once you've started to like it we're going to drop it. Ironically, most people aren't going to give a new show the time of day BECAUSE of this very fact. That's right everyone, there's nothing here to see. Go back to your ER's, your GREY'S ANATOMY'S and your CSI's because those shows are safe from the axe. Don't bother taking a chance with anything new because the same thing that happened to JOURNEYMAN will - in all likelihood - happen to it anyway.Heartbroken.

    Step Up, Sci Fi!!!

    by jazner

I realize it's unrealistic considering that SciFi Network is owned by NBC/Universal, but it would make my year if SFN picked up 'Journeyman,' now that it's officially been dropped from the Peacock's roster of shows. This is a FANTASTIC SHOW and deserves a chance to continue tell its story.

    Come On, Sci Fi!!!

A couple of places to voice your opinion

    by jnta

Yeah, it seems to be over with NBC, but I still think that we should be looking into other possibilities, and not just roll over and shut up. Here's one place to voice your opinion, I'm going to be looking for others:

They never give anything a shot anymore, and like you said, what's the point of watching new shows if they are simply going to let them get axed. Air this on USA Network, come on, save this show!

July 9, 2003 is the 25th birthday of the Alameda County (Calif.) 911 system. Besides providing 911 service to more than a million people locally, the Alameda 911 system was nationally significant as the first with selective routing -- the ability to automatically route emergency 911 calls to the proper city or jurisdiction in a metropolitan area, based exclusively on the installed location of the calling phone.
